Had my first Jimmy John's experience and am left pondering what all the fuss is about. I'm wondering if given the fact that Jimmy John's has such a loyal following, I was expecting something a bit more fabulous? Don't get me wrong. They make a decent sub. They do. The ingredients are all quite fresh and if I found myself in the vicinity of 6th & Main (great location!) with the hankering for a sub, I would venture here again. The inside was impeccably clean, the service was friendly and efficient, and my BLT sub was solid. The thing is...they DO dub their sandwiches "gourmet" and I would have to say they fall far short of that mark. Bleubird offers gourmet sandwiches. Jimmy John's offers solid subs with chain style consistency (which is to say--wherever you find them, there they'll be, exactly as you're expecting them to be). Which, frankly, is something I'm occasionally in the mood for. Even so...if I was on the prowl for sub style sammy--I can think of better options in this, our Valley of Treasures. If you happen by, head in--but I wouldn't go out of my hungry way for it.

Seriously so good. These guys put a sticker on your wrapped sandwich, "subs so fast you'll freak." I had just ordered my ham-inspired sandwich when the sandwich guy called it out and handed it to me. It was crazy. With fast service and high-quality food, it's no wonder people rave about Jimmy Johns. They deliver and the guys hopped on their bikes with massive amounts of sandwiches; one of them even carried a box in his left arm. Seeing as how I'm a sandwich girl, I have a feeling I'll be frequenting Jimmy Johns when I head into Boise. With good food and good prices, why wouldn't I?

We were at the capital for the day. Jimmy John's was fast and food was great. We had a large group and everything was as requested.

Best and most amazing simple yet delicious sandwich I can rely on. The delivery drivers are sweet, kind, and fun.

The place is fine. Good subs at a decent price. The gourmet part, not so much. Its meat, cheese & veggies...nothing gourmet about that.

It nice and close to the capitol, I can walk to it from the client site, enjoy lunch at a picnic table and meander back all in under an hour.

A person came from another part of the building after about 5 mins... I assume that is where the sandwhiches are made. Orders were placed. I had the Brisket special sandwhich and asked for it plain... ie, brisket and bun. I was second in line and there was another person behind me and then another came in. I waited for about 15 mins. I noticed the cashier disappeared again to get someones food. Then he was chatting with some guests for a bit. Finally, he disappeared again and arrived with two orders, but it was the two people AFTER me. Another 5 minutes later I got my brisket sandwhich. Also a few other people came in after me and the same process seemed to repeat over and over... ie come in to an empty cashier, wait around in confusion. Several people mentioned it was their first time that day so maybe having a sign or having some sort of system to notify when an order is ready. It looks like the slice of brisket I got was the outside and about 6-7"s long and it was really hard, stringy and tough to chew. It would have been nice if it was chopped finely and if I could have gotten something a bit more tender. It was warmed up though. You would think this would take 30 seconds to make this sandwhich, I should have to wait 15-20 mins. The flavor was ok, but I only ate about half and ended up having to get rid of the other half due to it just being too chewy and one long piece. Parking lot was fairly full, but nice that there was parking there. The vibe was a bit weird overall as well. I don't think I will be back. I am sure they have better sandwhiches, but I just didn't really enjoy the experience and the price was above $15.

There wasn't much in the lettuce department. For 14 bucks, there wasn't a lot of salad to it. My husband always gets the Boise Philly and they always do a good job. So, it's hard for me to say no when my husband wants to come here. We stopped in today for a late lunch. My husband ordered his normal. I decided to be different and ordered the black and blue brat. The picture they have on the brat in their menu looked so good so I had to get it. We grabbed a table and hung out till our food was ready. The food came out nice and hot. My husband's sandwich looked killer like always. Mine...... I wish I could have said the same. My brat came on a sandwich bun. It still looked good but I knew it was going to be a lot of breading to my brat. The brat as savory and peppery. It was good and had a good snap to it. It was a little hard to enjoy the brat since they drowned my bun with the ground mustard. It was really overwhelming. And for 2 bucks you can add sauerkraut. Don't bother adding it cause you barely get any. My husband's sandwich was good. The filet was tender and the cheese was nice and melty. Overall, it was an ok meal. I wish they would have told me about the bun being different. I would have ordered something else. I really want to like this place. They are local and I know the serve great did but I just haven't had that experience yet.

If your coming here for the first time do not miss the schnitzel meals! It's a good hearty meal to fill a hungry belly! I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. He even insisted the candy was in the wrong place and should be more expensive. His behavior was so rude that a nearby coworker--a kind, blonde woman--actually apologized to us for his conduct and wished us a Happy Women's Day. It is disappointing to see such a lack of manners. I want to alert other customers to double-check their receipts, as the prices at checkout often do not match the shelves, and we were nearly charged for items we didn't even have.
