My wife and I absolutely love Pita Jungle--the freshness of everything on the menu is what keeps us coming back again and again. We just had takeout from there on our way to the Ed Sheeran concert, and it was the perfect meal. The Mediterranean salad is honestly to die for--the fresh lemon vinaigrette paired with the hearty chicken is incredible and full of flavor. We also tried something new this time: the fries with a side of toum dip. That dip is packed with bold garlic flavor (definitely not subtle!), but it's absolutely worth it for how good it is. Seriously addictive. We frequent Pita Jungle often and usually stick with the salads, but everything we've tried has been consistently great. Their wood-fired chicken is excellent, the trio hummus is a must, and all of their wood-fired pizzas are just as impressive. Everything tastes so fresh, and it's one of those places that works just as well for dine-in as it does for takeout. Highly recommend--always a great experience and even better food. read more

I love pita jungle and often get catering for my team. I called in today for a small catering order (1 chicken tray). The pita member seemed bothered. I go to pick up 10 mins after the time I'm told and it was still about 10-12 mins from being ready- I understand as this was same day. The bag is presented to me and I'm asked if I need anything else, I ask for plates. The lady (manager?) seemed confused/bothered/hesitant and says she'll check. She returns with plates and asked if I need anything else. I told her I'd just stop by and buy some utensils, she offers 7-8 bagged ones. I call out what seems to be a trend of inconveniencing the restaurant- I am told that it's because of the amount of caterings they've had. Serving utensils were also not provided. Service was great as the server was friendly, prompt and attentive. The place was clean and lively inside. Normally, I have great food at any Pita Jungle I've been to and it had been about a year since I was last at one. However, the meat was pretty dry in my shawarma this time. The flavors were great, veggies were fresh and pits nice and soft. I just was disappointed that the chicken wasn't tender and moist like I'm used to having there. If you have a checklist of happy hour spots to try in the East Valley this is probably on your list. The happy hour menu has a great variety and select selection of tapas and drinks. The only downfall is that food happy hour only goes until 5 PM ( drinks go till 6). So you better be ready to get there early if you don't want to miss out on these deals. The sangria was a great portion size and was quite tasty. We opted for some pitas, hummus, chicken, and tried it out a couple of the happy hour pizzas as well. Portion sizes for the pizzas on happy hour were great - we had left overs - very filling . My long-time dining experience with Pita Jungle goes all the way back to my ASU college days in the 90's. I used to grab lunch at the original location on Apache Boulevard in Tempe after class all the time. It was a big hit with the students back then and still is today. Pita Jungle opened its first Valley location almost 30 years ago in 1994. Three ASU students came up with the concept and today they have locations all over Arizona. I do a lot of takeout at this location at Village Square at Dana Park in Gilbert. They have a small ordering counter off to the side that makes it easy to order and pick up your meal. I recently dined at this location with a friend and enjoyed the art work on the walls. Pita Jungle serves healthy Mediterranean food. The menu consists of healthy sandwiches, bowls and wood-fired pizzas. They accommodate all lifestyles including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. I'm always down for a Gyro or Chicken Shawarma with some hummus. I also love the Wood-Fired Pizzas, the Chicken Combo Platter and Tikka Masala. Definitely grab some tea with your meal. I took my grandma to Pita Jungle for her birthday, and while the food was good, the service really missed the mark. We ordered a margarita and paradise tea to start. My grandma's margarita didn't taste right, and when she asked for it to be remade, the server mentioned they were out of triple sec. Thankfully, the second version tasted much better. She had the Chicken Del Sol, and I ordered the Pick Two from the seasonal menu with lavash pizza and chicken tortilla soup--both dishes were solid. The real issue was the wait. It took forever to be greeted and get our drinks. After waiting 45 minutes, I asked about our food, especially since others seated after us were already finishing. The server apologized but couldn't explain the delay beyond saying "it got busy." We eventually spoke to the manager, who was very apologetic and said he'd personally go to the kitchen to make our meals. He also comped the entire meal due to the long wait, which was appreciated. Great food, poor service--but the manager handled it the best he could. We come here every year for our birthdays so hopefully next time will be better! read more

It was easy to find. They had an outdoor patio, but it was too hot to sit outside. Inside, there was a seating at a small bar along with regular tables in the dining area. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, so many great choices, healthy choices. They also had a good selection of vegan and gluten-free. Lastly, Sunny was our server. We keep trying this location, hoping for improvement. We arrived at 8:15 and within 10 minutes of our arrival for inside dining, a horrible chemical burning smell started inside the restaurant. The table next to us went outside to eat. We decided to leave. The staff explained it's the grill cleaner. Why would you use that in a kitchen you're still cooking people's food in? This is only the second time I've eaten at pita jungle. I forgot how great the food is. The choices are healthier than the average takeout, and I haven't tried anything I didn't like. This time I got the fire roasted veggie wrap and it was much better than anticipated and very filling. I also got the trio of hummus, which lasted as a snack for a few days. I'll definitely be back. Went here for dinner last night. My boyfriend and I split the spicy chicken wrap as a bowl. I'm a sissy so asked for siracha on the side. We split the entree and a side Greek salad and it was just delicious! Be warned, the dish does not come with lemon vinaigrette even though it says it does. It was a tasty touch though! I enjoyed it with my salad! The charred tomatoes and onions were a delicious touch! If you're hungry I might suggest adding a spritzer appetizer. I recently tried out this location of Pita Jungle with a friend who came to town. It was for lunch and I was expecting a huge line but there seemed to be ample space for everyone to dine in. We were seated immediately by a lovely older lady. She met us with enthusiasm and kindness. We sat outside and ordered some dishes. The waitress helping us was a little glum but didn't fault on anything. The food came out promptly and we were checked on a few times with regular water top offs. Bathrooms were clean and was replenished. Water labeled "very hot" was indeed very hot haha glad there was a sign. Great location. Fresh food. Would recommend for lunch any day. read more

We opted to sit on outdoor patio however it was not well maintained in the area of cleanliness. The food was on point but service was pretty much non existent. Our new favorite spot. Finally talked my hubby into trying this spot... he doesn't like Greek food. But he loves this place. He is crazy about the salmon and I love everything on the menu. The $3 tacos are amazing as is the curry salad. We both love the drinks - the waitresses and bar are great. And the prices are good. Love the atmosphere inside and out. So the last few times we've tried to dine at Pita jungle in Dana Park here at Val Vista they are severely understaffed, very slow, and the food isn't half as good as it used to be. In a time where food has gotten way more costly it seems like everything else has gone down. They don't do a very good job of keeping this restaurant very clean or organized. Nobody seems to know what the other person is doing, which leads to a very frustrating dining experience for the people who actually have to pay to eat their food. I'd like to see more kitchen control, and staff control overall... I most definitely will probably never come back to any pita jungle ever again. read more

Honestly, it had been such a long time since I had gone to Pita Jungle and when I visited a few months ago, i was totally surprised. For some reason I had remembered it as a fast casual greek restaurant, but I could not have remembered it more wrong. It is a full service restaurant serving up delicious cocktails , wine, along with food to pair!, great for date night, girls night, lunch or really anything in between. I have had a variety of things and love that they have constantly rotating menu's and seasonal items. I love that they have light bites/wraps for 3 bucks if you want to have something small and various appetizer items from small hummus plates, to trios. You can add extra pita's, veggies, protein and a lot of ways to customize. My favorite item I have had up to this point, is their cilantro jalapeno hummus! With their grilled chicken and greek pita, add some veggies and honestly it hits the mark every time. It's fresh, flavorful and I feel good after devouring it! read more

We stopped in here for dinner last night. The restaurant is clean and the service was friendly and efficient. It was a little bit on the cold side in the restaurant especially right around the kitchen area. We had to ask to have our seed moved. And I noticed several other people that were seated in that section also has to be moved to different tables. The menu offers a great variety of Mediterranean options. I ordered off the med meets Mexico menu. I had the amazing pita which is a chicken entree. The chicken was flavorful and moist. The sandwich was tasty. I do think it was a little on the lunch portion size though. I did notice that the pitas seem to be just a little on the thin side. I've noticed that other Mediterranean restaurants the pitas are thicker and fluffier. My wife got the gyro and it was also very good. Seemed like the lamb was thinly cut. Again portion size seem to be more along the lines of what you would get during lunch. I will say that it seemed like our food could have been a bit warmer as far as the pitas are concerned. We ordered a side of potatoes and those were hot and fresh. I also think it took just a bit longer than it should have considering how busy the restaurant was for our food to come out. Bottom line there are a lot of outstanding Mediterranean options in the east valley and this was a very average dining experience for us. read more

If you really love Middle Eastern food, you will love this place. I'm not that adventurous but I do love a good hummus and they make a great cilantro jalapeño hummus , it's got a lot of lemon in it...was very yummy! This is not an inexpensive place to eat, and it's -very- noisy, they need more sound deadening in there. We only had hummus that came with 2 pitas, and a -very- small side dish of tabouli, we dropped $18, with no drinks of any sort... this was a " starter" on their menu, Even though it's noisy in there and they're pricey, they do offer many different selections and they do have some budget friendly items like a single taco type of thing to order. I've been in a couple times since my review but my advice is the service is better in person. They lack at pick up and delivery. When you're in the restaurant it's easier to hold them accountable and communicate. I always feel badly having to call to say somethings wrong although I appreciate when it's refunded, I feel badly they lose out because they didn't listen the first time. After five months in timeout, we decided to try Pita Jungle again. Unfortunately, they have not resolved their take-out issues. Before we left with two large bags of food, I ask them if they double checked the order to make sure everything was there. Yes, they said. Promise? I asked. Yes, they said again. I thought about checking it myself, but I was in their tiny little take-out space with two other customers waiting behind me so I took them at their word. But... they broke that promise - a meal was missing when we got home. We called and their only resolutions were refunding the missing meal (duh) or we let all the food get cold while we come back to get it. They don't care about what this does to a family sitting down to eat with a 12 year old who has nothing to eat. We're so done. read more

Went to this location during my lunch break. There was a bit of a wait for a table but the hostess offered me a seat at the bar which was great. Bartender came over quickly and was attentive during the whole meal. I ordered the chicken pita wrap with fries and it was great! Fresh pita, fresh veggies, very well cooked chicken. This location usually never misses, but today was a bit disappointing. We were sat right away which is great considering this is a small location. Our server and host were both very nice. They had a busser working who was very good at taking plates away. I ordered something new, and I wish I hadn't. It was a California lavash wrap off the vegan menu. I asked for no olives in the wrap. When the wrap arrived I noticed the salad was covered in cheese. This can be a habit for line cooks, but for someone with a dairy allergy it could be an issue. Thankfully I do no dairy as a preference. The wrap was good... But SO many olives. I ate it but again I wish the line cooks would have read the ticket. Maybe the waitress didn't enter it correctly? I'm done. This place has always been hit or miss but mostly misses. Was in last night and the the wife got the Mediterranean platter. The dips were supposed to be tzatziki, babaghanoush and hummus. I have no idea what the babaghanoush really was. It tastes like it was mixed with the tzatziki and had olive juice mixed in. It appeared that it had curdled. What really put me off was that when we brought it to the waiters attention he first thought it was tzatziki then when corrected he said that the each cook in the back makes it a different way and that he doesn't get involved in that. Pita jungle - Mesa provided some amazing dishes to the Miss Arizona organization for the finals night competition. As part of the staff we eat with the delegates and on finals night we were so thankful to have such amazing dishes. We had savory Pesto pasta, rice, beans hummus platter with 3 different hummus ,tasty Mediterranean chicken, chicken combo dish and really fresh pita bread and more. I tried a little bit of everything and many of us went back for more! It was exactly what I needed before our show. Also they were so friendly when picking up the order and packaged everything so conveniently, very easy and nice. Definitely a location that's great to do business with combined with such great food!
