Herbert and Sam are very knowledgeable when it comes to tuning cars. Great service Will definitely go again

I took my car for a regular oil change and was told I needed new shocks and all new tires. I had a feeling I was getting taken advantage of so I went for a 2nd opinion. Enter Herbert. He was straight up with me; reiterated the need for new shocks but did the repair for a way better price. He also said that I, in fact, didn't even need new tires (saving me $$$) and just rotated them for me. Did all the repairs same day. I'll be taking any future car needs to him from now on. read more

Herbert knows his stuff. I brought my vehicle in for a diff fluid flush and I mentioned that the front suspension was making some noise. Turns out the shop where I had the shocks installed didn't assemble the top of the struts correctly. He found the issue and fixed it. read more

I was browsing on yelp to locate a a store to install my Barton short throw shifter. I came across this location and decided to call them to receive a quote. Once I received the quote from Herbert, I asked if he had time the next day. He informed me that he was busy that day but that he would be able to fit me in the middle of his busy schedule. I was very happy that he would be able to do that for me. Next day, I arrived to the location and was greeted by Herbert. He had a very positive vibe coming from him and it was a plus that he knew so much about cars. That made me confident that him and his team would do a great job on my install. After the install, I was very eager to get on my car and try the shifter. Goodness gracious, they did an excellent work!! I am coming back to this location for future mods! read more

Pit Stop rocks! Made an appt and took my RS4 in for a much needed oil change -- damm these cars are thirsty! Thought it was cool that Herb also has an RS4... so he knows the car like the back of his hand. I'm always a little uneasy taking my baby somewhere new, but Herb made me feel 100% comfortable working on my car. Since the car was up on the lift, he also did a full body check up and tightened some loose nuts and bolts etc.. Will definitely go be going back! ** No latte machine...but I'd rather have someone knowing what they're doing to my car, than sipping on a latte out of a machine! read more

I was recommended to this business by a fellow mechanic who is a friend of mine. Herb is the most honest mechanic I have had the pleasure to meet. Herb, thanks very much for you help. You are fantastic. Have a 2013 BMW M5. Herb was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, professional and meticulous in overcoming all the issues in installing the KW V3 coilovers and Dinan swaybars for me. First, the KW distributor sent me the wrong part and he was very patient in explaining and helping me what I could do in the meantime. It turned out to be a non-issue that Herb helped me to overcome it in no time. Second, the tire shop that installed my aftermarket wheels tightened one of the wheel locks so tight that it could not be removed when Herb tried to take it off to install the coilover. Herb took so much time and was so meticulous that he finally took it off without damaging my wheel. I was certain that, for any other shops, they would have either given up or damaged my wheel already. Overall, Herb and his team was incredibly professional and patient. My job was not easy but they just got it done. Thanks. read more

Pros: -Herbert (the owner) was easy to talk to, friendly, knowledgable, professional, cares about his customers. -installed my 20" wheels on stretched tires like a pro with no scratches -needed more clearance on the rear, so Herbert shaved the rear bumper bracket SUPER CLEAN AND FLUSH without touching the bolt. Cons: None Herbert did an excellent job and even stayed to do my car even though he was backed up on time as he had prior engagements. I'd come back here for sure!! read more

Went back to get my coilovers and sway bars installed. Once again, Herbert and his team did a great job. Left my car looking BADASS! read more

Most shops now-a-days change their prices depending on how they feel. It is nice to find a shop that has the same prices regardless of who you are or what day of the week it is. The guys here at pitstop are very knowledgeable and are transparent with their work. Thank you gentlemen for always taking care of my cars. read more

Have never had such an enjoyable experience with a mechanic. Herbert is honest, open, intelligent and thoughtful. I called to get a comparison quote after Toyota Glendale quoted me $575 for a water pump replacement. Herbert said he worked there years ago and is used to their inflated prices. He charged me $260 tax included. He then took time out of his busy day to explain the issue, show how it was solved and offered advice on how to take better care of my car to avoid having to take it to shop! Goodbye Glendale Toyota! I highly suggest anyone who goes there for "routine maintenance," say goodbye and see Pit Stop! read more

Herbert and the guys are my go to. Every time I need some mechanic work done whether tire change, oil change, alignment, brakes etc. I call Pit Stop and get assistance right away. My greatest concern is getting authentic BMW manufactured parts for a steal of a deal, and Herbert is always able to do this for me. Thanks guys you are the best!! #knowledgeable read more

If there was a 6 star rating, this shop deserves it. I am leaving for a road trip tomorrow. I know nothing about cars and I am a failure at scheduled service other than my oil changes. I brought my yaris in, and Herbert is pretty much my guardian angel. He is extremely knowledgeable with Toyotas and he was so nice and explained everything. A good friend recommended him and now I know why. I knew that I would need new tires, and oil change and a belt changed out, he spotted all that and a few other fixes. The price was so incredibly fair and he broke everything down. He didn't pressure me into anything, and was way honest about what would be best for my safety on a road trip across 4 states!!! Not only will I be back, I will be recommending him to all my friends. It is such a huge comfort to trust your mechanic, especially when you are like me and you don't know and engine from a hubcap. :P There is a starbuck less than 6 min walk away too, so you can get your wifi and coffee on while you wait!! Herbert is my hero, go here, go often. read more

I've only had one experience with this place regarding the install of a front splitter for my 2011 Camaro. and it was good. i can't speak for any other type of work. but at least when i brought in the front splitter i ordered for Herbert to look at. he was able to look at it right on the spot, and gave me a quote within 10 mins. His estimate on the work that needed to be performed demonstrated that he was knowledgeable with the install. (the manufacturer shipped me a track version of splitter that used Bolts, instead of push-in rivets that are typically used for the street version). Herbert pointed it out to me in-person right on the spot. He was able to give me an estimate right there based on the time it would take do install. i would say it was a fair estimate, not great, but not a rip-off either. But what i admire is the fact that Herbert, the owner didn't mind getting his own hands dirty and did the work together with his mech to try and get the car out the door soon as they could. the only thing i could complain about is the lack of client lounge. but i understand that it's a small business that a passionate guy just started. i could tell from my interaction with Herbert that he truely has passion for what he does and doesn't mind getting his own hands dirty. a real grease monkey if you ask me. i would like to see more small businesses like this place in the area. and only based on my one single experience, i would recommend this place, and will be taking my car back for future work. :) read more

I hold these guys in such high regard that I don't even get surprised anymore when they do amazing things for you. Brought my M3 in since the a power steering belt broke which required repair in other areas ... Herb called my extended warranty and got the entire repair approved! Bottom line - Herbert is the man -and his place is the place for cars in need... After 2yrs and over 8K+ sunk working with local shops, too dealer on AHC issues in a 2006 Landcruiser - with no guarantees on solutions and no end in money drains - we wanted the Automatic Height Control system DELETED. Re-configuring the suspension system did the trick -and this place did it all. Now we ride in peace -and once again loving our Land cruiser. Toyota OEM parts cost aside - labor cost was more than reasonable. Highly recommend this shop - while Herbert runs it. read more

This place has the most amazing service, I have an M3 that needed to be serviced and I happened to pass by and decided to give them a try. The owner was fantastic, he took his time and explained everything to me in detail. I am a woman who is not full of knowledge when it comes to cars, and Herbert was amazing in how he explained everything and made me comfortable with the whole process. He is incredibly knowledgeable and Honest. There were things that didn't need service and he was honest about how long I can wait before I need certain work done. I have never been to a shop who has a guy so passionate about what he does and who truly cares about his clients & their cars. Oh and let me not forget to mention that the prices can't be beat! If you are looking for quality work with an honest individual this is your place! read more

I honestly cannot explain how good the service is. Herbert and Sam were both outstanding and experts on what they were doing. I am glad honestly I found these guys on Yelp and cannot explain how good they are as people and the care they provide for your car. Me being a car enthusiast and very careful with my forged wheels, Sam handled them with car and adjusted what needed to be adjusted on my car. They're a very knowledgable and skilled shop. With outstanding service. I will be regular here from now on. I mite even ditch Honda for my oil change and continue to just come here for all my service needs. Once again I recommend this place. Nothing but excellence. I have been to many shops and most were rude and mean but these guys are great and friendly. Don't hesitate to call them and ask for help. read more

I was told Pit Stop Motor Tuning is the best around for custom suspension. These guys squeezed me in last minute, which meant a lot to me at the time, and even more once I saw how packed this place is with business. Herb is awesome; after speaking with him, reading all the reviews praising this place, and seeing the operation I never doubted for a moment this was exactly where I wanted my car lowered. Herb couldn't have made the process any easier. I showed up, handed over the keys, went and had lunch, and got a call everything was ready to go. The car handles 5x better than it did on the stock suspension and looks like a million bucks. Start to finish, everything was perfect. This place was packed with $100k cars, and it's obvious why. Herb and his team are the best. If you want the best, you bring your car here. No question. read more

Everyone knows Herbert is a great guy. Herb, who owns Pit Stop Motor Tuning, installed my wheels & suspension a few years ago, and I will go to him again on the next car I just got. It's the little things I noticed about his passion for his work, his personality, friendliness, that comforts me about his character and integrity. A few years ago he installed a coilover kit on my audi that I was excited about, and the initial 1"-1.5" drop was fine but he knew I wanted as minimal a drop as allowed per the coilover instructions. I remember to this day how he went out of his way to pull up the chassis with his bare hands to give me the amount of lowering I wanted. When people really help you, at the moment you put your trust and your car, in their hands, you never forget. read more
