I feel it's necessary and very overdue what I'm about to share with you regarding - Pipins Pub' My review in December 2020' was honest and forthcoming, about an incident on the phone with the above mentioned. However, I decided to overlook the rude phone person and place an order once again! Just to let you know on Jan. 6,2021' I ordered a cheeseburger and fries from them. While waiting for the delivery, I received a very Nasty phone call from the owner who I praised in my last review! Steve Oliver' was very insensitive about my review and attempted order! therefore, out of revenge, he allowed his staff to send me food that was thrown in a paper bag, mind you, No Container! with Ketchup Packets on top of the loose fries in a paper bag! When I opened the two separate bags I was in total shock! If I decided to have eaten the poisonous food, i would have been hospitalized that night! Needless to say, I called the restaurant and requested a credit card refund. They sent someone to pick it up. I not only didn't get a credit, but they increased the bill by an additional ten dollars! I agreed to $14.63' they charged $24.63' Thus far, my credit card company is charging the money out of their account! This is the worst place I've encountered. In any case, I'm done with this business forever!! Too many other reputable restaurants, to choose from, where my patronage will and is appreciated. Thanks for reading my review again! read more

A great bar, with great service, and great food! You can't ask for more especially with the choices you've got around there. Only thing is that parking is quite difficult to find in that neighborhood but that's not the bars fault so let's look at what is their fault! -They have a great selection of beer. -Their tidbits are legit off the hook. I've tried only the steak and they are just amazing, melted mozzarella cheese on top of steak laid on some good old fashioned Italian bread with bbq sauce on the side and fries. -Their cheddar burger is quite delicious too, that cheddar is something else I tell you. -Their service is top notch and they always take care of you. -Also good selection of tvs playing different things if you're not interested in who you brought there :) I'm just surprised when i see families in there with babies and whatnot. I get its a sit down spot but at the end of the day you are a parent who brought their child (baby I should say) into a bar. But what do I know, I'm some dumb Brooklyn kid. This is my neighborhood bar. Great food and great beer selection. I come in to watch collage football on Saturday and during the week for beer and great food. They have great specials throughout the week that have keep the price down. The staff is always friendly and ready to grab you a drink or refill. There is a wide selection of different burgers and all the ones I have I tried have been awesome. My favorite is the salon burger with a horseradish sauce. This is a good and solid neighborhood pub. It can be a little cliquey, but really, in these Brooklyn pubs that have been around for 30 or 40 years, you should never just walk in, and expect to be best buddies with everyone. Regardless, if you're looking for something good to eat, in a nice small dining room, with good specials, and a nice fireplace, then this is a good choice. I always like their wraps. For drinking at the bar, it's a good place to catch some sports, but make sure you get a seat near what game you want to see. They are stickers between. "This TV is for the Yankees and This TV is for the Mets". They have the hi-def figured out, so it's nice to watch games here any time. Cool crowd. Some NYPD and FDNY which is cool for a good blue collar neighborhood like Bay Ridge. Nice people. Nice place. read more

I ordered to-go. I ordered a beef burger (medium well) that comes with french fries (small side size) and pickle (a wedge). The beef & fries were bland. In retrospect, I should have added salt & pepper to them. I had no complaints about the pickle, not too tart or salty. I'll enjoy it more next time, I'll order the beef cooked "medium" and taste my food for seasoning before proceeding to devour it. read more

There's nothing better then a place you can call home. Pipin's Pub is just that place. From the wood trim lining the walls, to the fire place that warms your soul, to the ancient and loyal staff that has been serving up some good grub for years, Pippins invokes a sense of belonging where you just can't find anywhere else. In fact, after every vacation my first stop is always Pipins. After my first bite, I know I'm home. You can't buy it, you can't sell it, its just is. The Burger and wings! You just can not find a burger and wings anywhere like you find at Pipin's. I don't know what takes place in their kitchen, and that's ok! As long as the food stays consistent I don't need to know. Their burger I would pit up against the best of the best. Always cooked to your specifications, juicy, meaty and lots of beefy flavor. If you do what I do and order the fixings such as cheddar cheese and bacon, a symphony will go off in your mouth. I don't know what it s about this combination of cheddar, bacon and beef that makes it so great. With each bite you taste each ingredient and then they suddenly come together creating a whole new level of flavor and texture. Truly one of the best burgers I've ever had. Their potato wedges are just awesome. Fresh cut potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with pure potato flavor. The wings in short, OMG as Chandler Bing would say. They are deep fried like traditional wings, then mixed with their special sauce and then fed under the broiler till the sauce becomes caramelized. This is what I am talking about people. Simple amazing. Truthfully I could go on and on about how good there food is, the pastrami, the steak sandwich, but truth be told, get yourself over there and do it in a hurry. Its that good! Amazing for the price, value and quality - and the service is also great! Came here last night with a girlfriend of mine and we wanted some comfort food. We ordered a cheddar burger, potato skins and buffalo wings to share - she had 2 bud lights and I had water. The service was great - the server was attentive for the most part. He did stop and had a full-blown conversation with another table, but quickly came to our table after he noticed that I wanted to flag him down for some water. He was only being friendly to other customers, which I really like because some restaurants in nyc are quite rude. The food is amazing for the value. Granted, it is not your fancy pub place to sit down and chat on a date, but it worked for me and my friend cause we just wanted to chill and have some good food. It was dark and loud - so I wouldn't suggest taking someone here on a date (unless they don't care for the noise), groups are absolutely OK they do have a couple of round and long tables. The buffalo wings were charred (amazing), the potato skins are super meaty and well-made (they were dry), and the cheddar burger was so pungent - I really did enjoy the cheese and the burger is like any other burger I tasted. The only con I had for this place is that they didn't take credit cards when I went. I don't know if it was a cash only establishment or their machine broke, but they didn't tell us until we were almost seated and my friend had to grab cash from a nearby ATM. I've gone to Pipin's twice. Both times were because I was craving something specific and they happened to have it on the menu. And both times everything I ordered was solid. I like the pub atmosphere (although I would prefer if the crowd were a bit younger and more diverse). The first time I went, the place was pretty crowded and slightly under staffed (to be fair it was just after hurricane Sandy). The second time it was very tastefully decorated for the holidays with the fire place lit and a healthy amount of people. If you're in the mood for pretty good bar food, and don't care about the crowd, I would highly recommend this place. read more

After craving a burger, I ordered take out and was looking forward to eating my medium cooked burger and fries. The burger came out rare and the fries were cooked in oil that has not been changed recently. In the past, I have had an amazing burger but was disappointed in this last visit. That being said they were very accommodating on making me a new burger. Hopefully, on my next visit the fries will be better as well. read more

The burger is decent. Would be much better if they would rethink the bread they put it on. I think its on sourdough now and that is just way to overpowering for a burger bun. I always have to take the top half off because I hate the flavor. Would be 3 stars if not for that. Probably one of the better burgers in the neighborhood though. read more

The best bar food in Bay Ridge! This place has an awkward layout inside. Try getting a seat next to the window as it can get very hot. Service is pretty good. Could be better but gets the job done. The food is surprisingly good even for bar food. I've had the spinach dip, wings, ribs, fish and chips, burgers, steaks, fries. All are fresh and tasty. They have awesome specials everyday too. Overall a great place to go watch a game or grab some good food with friends. read more

Had a great Friday night meal with my parents. The food was delicious and came out quickly. The buffalo chicken tip sandwich was fantastic. My mom had the ABC burger and the blue cheese was very high quality. Ahh the old days..... great bartenders and service at the old location. But no more. Service at the bar sucks you believe a bartender texting away with a full bar and people thirsty???? WTF???? Took 25 mins just to see the menu. Now I know when a place is crowded it's hard to get good service, but come on! I would have been 10 times better behind the bar. I sat for 15 minutes with an empty beer bottle and had to wave my hand to get his attention for a refill. Don't quit your day job dude. Came to your establishment. Took a 4 seat table and we were a party of 2. My party was in the bathroom when a male waiter came over and said how many. I thought he was asking so that he could bring water. I said 2 and he said you have to "move" you cannot sit at this table it is for 4. Mind you, only 3 other tables in the whole place were taken. I sat and waited for my party to come out of the bathroom and when she did we walked out. You don't talk to your patrons that way. read more

So it looks like once you get older than say 40, you get banned from the Kettle Black and you are forced to come to Pipin's Pub. In other words, definintely an older crowd here, which is funny considering the music they were playing was pretty a mix of good 80s and 90s alt rock. Anyway, this was some of the worst food I've had in Bay Ridge. My turkey burger was as rubbery as a hockey puck and instead of a nice slice of cheddar cheese on it like I asked, I got cheese-whiz!?!?! Yuck! The food also took forever to get to the table. And for the beer geeks out there, nothing interesting here. Just a few beers on tap, the most interesting of which was Spaten. I say stick to the Kettle Black and let this one die out with older generation. read more

My Favorite bar in the neighborhood :) You wont find top 40 music or cheesy girls in tank tops here. A bit of an older local crowd but everyone is nice. It's a laid back pub with great bartenders and the best wings I've ever eaten. They have a ton of TV's and great drink and food specials, one of the best places in the area to catch a game with some friends. Don't miss the wings.. They are breathtaking! read more

A tasteful pub steeped in neighborhood tradition. Every one of my companions had their own stories to tell about going to this bar many years back. You're sure to cross paths with other locals at this place; even I ran into a couple of families that I knew, and I'm not even from the area. A good mix of people flowing in and out, lots of groups both young and old. Nice, ambient live music on the weekend. My coworkers and I tried Pipin's for lunch again today. We were the only people in there, but service was extremely slow. Our food (4 sandwiches, 1 salad) took a very long time. Both chicken sandwiches and my turkey burger were very dry, bread was mediocre, and the veggies were pretty fresh. The pastrami sandwich and mozz salad were both fine. Honestly, just boring basics that are mostly not even done that well and lunch takes 1.5 hours when you are the only people in the entire place. Sooo, this place I can actually see from the front door of my spot...... Now, I do really dig the music that I get to jam to that pours out of here, and I had always been wondering what it was like, so when I had a first date coming up, I was like lets go there. Now, here is where it gets interesting. As you walk in, its really chill in front, seems like a locals bar, all nice and such, but then you go in the back to the restaurant, and the atmosphere totally changed! I sorta all of a sudden felt all out of place, the waitress was dressed a little too nice for a place that deals like 90% with burgers, and I started to actually feel uncomfortable with the whole thing. Now the food was actually really good, and I enjoyed my burger alot. Now...all of this being said, I havent been back there for 2 months...so would I sprint to this place, no, but if I get a hankering for a burger, I could see myself going there again. read more

Pipins is my absolute favorite bar. They have the best wings, incredible burgers, great ribs and terrific sandwiches. The California sandwich, and the Maharaja are also two favorites. Definitely get the wings for appetizers - some of the best wings I've ever had. Everyday they have different specials. One day wings, one way burgers, etc. They have great wing deals on Football games as well. The current pub is larger than the last, as this is a popup, but it is by far my favorite bar in brooklyn, and one I recommend to all of my friends. I thoroughly enjoy going there for sporting events, and almost any other occasion. Definitely highly recommend. read more

This is my 2nd time coming to Pipin's and i have nothing less than a great experience. You get best of both worlds. The great bar atmosphere and restaurant feel .
