Came here on a saturday evening. I've heard a lot of hype about their wings so I wanted to try them out. I ordered 10 bbq and 10 hot wings. The hot wings tasted better than the bbq. But the wings were mediocre. Nothing spectacular. I was actually more excited to order the Ommegang Game if Thrones beer "Valar Morghulis". That, pretty much made my night. I also had the chicken totchos. Those were good. They were tater tots topped with chicken and stuff put in nachos. Hence, the name. Again, nothing spectacular. I'd like to give this place another try, though.

Yep!!! That's Windy City right there.... Dope Spot! New fave w/ outdoor / backyard. Ask for Brianna the bartender. She's a chill chic

Windy City Ale is a cool place to chill and enjoy some drinks and appetizers. They have the doors that flip out wide open so you cant help but see right inside. Its very welcoming. The food here is actually pretty good to my surprise. We had chicken wings, chicken totchoes, and the cheesesteak sliders with fries. The cheese steak wasnt too bad. The chicken totchoes are amazeee!!!! This is a dish of tatar tots topped with cheese salsa and all that good stuff that you'd find on loaded nachos. Pretty cool concept, definitely not something that Id ever think of. The bartenders are cool as well. If your ever in the neighborhood stop by and grab a bite!

Windy City Ale House has been a refreshing addition to the Bay Ridge bar/restaurant scene. As much as I love pizza & Italian food, it's a bummer to see another red sauce joint open when a space frees up. Windy City's beer selection alone is something no other bar in the neighborhood can match up to. 24 beers on draft with a rotating selection, and bottles upon bottles of beer. The food menu is focused on a variety of Chicago staples (Chicago style dogs) and typical bar offerings (wings, sliders). Their Chicago style dog is the best I've had (better than Shake Shack's, IMO). They have 20 cent wing specials on Sundays, 10 cent wings on Mondays. Hockey nights on Thursdays & Saturday where if you wear a hockey jersey you get $2 off beers. Check their Twitter feed or Facebook page for other daily specials. More importantly, the owners (brothers, Steve & Dan) are great guys who seem to really care about their patrons. It might sound cheesy, but I think everyone wants to have a local bar where you go in & they remember your name. That actually happened when I came back a couple weeks after my initial visit on St. Patrick's Day. To me, that means something. It also didn't hurt that when my favorite soccer team (NY Red Bulls) were playing & I didn't get NBCSN at home, they put the game on for me with the sound on one of their 14 TVs. Overall, great place and a great addition to the neighborhood. I hope they are here for many more years to come.

Great neighborhood sports bar!! Chicago themed with a nice selection of beer on tap. Amazingly friendly staff. Steve is the man!! Great Chicago based pub food. Tatchos(tater tot nachos) were excellent. Chicago dogs and sliders are also excellent! Great spot to watch hockey for Blackhawks fans but they have 13 or so TVs so you are sure to catch the game you want.

    Beers on tap.. Hockey everywhere

A Chicago team bar in bay ridge. I'm a big hockey fan and live in bay ridge. I go out a lot in Manhattan and look for spots close to home when I'm not looking to travel far. So when the stars aligned and my girlfriend was getting her hair done after work and I was at home when the rangers were playing, I finally went to Windy City.. Bay ridge's only hockey bar. It was a Thursday night in January at 7pm. I love beer and heard they had the best selection. I wasn't disappointed by the variety of beers. Respect their love for native Chicago brews (Windy City) as well as Ommegang because I went to school right by their brewery. Bar wasn't too packed as it was a weeknight, not too loud. Plenty of TVs with a 60"+ across the bar. Prices are fair both for the food and drinks. ***Especially liked the $2 off drafts just because I was wearing a hockey jersey*** It wasn't that loud when I went and from what I could tell the jukebox is the new one where you could get any song you want to play on it. There's a dart board, clean bathrooms and just a good vibe. From what I can take away from Windy City is that it's a great place to watch hockey in Brooklyn. A local type bar where the more you go the more fun you have. Food is tasty, beer is good and service good, although laxed at times. (Like I said I went by myself, and a total of 5 words were spoken to me.) Don't take that for rude at all, it was just that no one was that engaging. If you're in bay ridge it's a great place to go. Try some new beers, watch some sports, and to top it off you won't go broke.

A-Ok folks! I don't really go to sports bars and am a newbie when it comes to drinking BEER. I'm still discovering what I like and don't like. We came here on Friday around 3:30 p.m. after work just to relax. There's plenty of T.V.'s so I was watching the Sochi Olympics, a movie on comedy central, and soccer all at the samet time. There were probably 15 people in the bar at this time, so I was able to have some downtime with my husband and have a conversation without talk-screaming at each other. LOL. They seem to have about 20 taps to choose from and the bartender says they change their selection frequently. Have fun!

    Totchoes! Seriously mouth watering :)

Bayridge has needed a place like this for a while, first time I went I walked in and immediately felt like I was at home! The service was so great and personable, awesome beer selection that rotates weekly and great drink and food specials all week! The owners are so welcoming and go out of their way to make people have a great experience. Food is soooo good!! Fresh and I did not feel overly stuffed and could tell how fresh everything was! Whoever is in the kitchen seriously knows what they are doing, I have never been to Chicago but trying the food there sure gave me a good taste! This place should very well be the next new hang out spot in Bayridge!! Also love all the t.v's, there are so many!! Any game will be great to watch there. Cannot wait to go back :) good job Windy City!! Best of luck ( which you won't need)!

5 stars for being an awesome neighborhood bar. They have great beers on tap (that ambidextrous stout is fantastic) awesome spin on bar food (get the chicken totchoes) and what brings this bar up to 5 star yelp rating in my book...the owners! Super friendly and personable. Just a bunch of chill dudes running a great bar. Ohhhhh almost forgot there's a tv on almost every inch of that place. Every seat is a good seat to watch a game. Perfect sports bar. And Everytime I've been in there the crowd is always super chill as well. If u go and see me in there say hello and have a beer on me. Cheers!

Hubby has frequented Salty Dog mostly with his colleagues, so I was glad to revisit here again after so long. He was bragging as to how good everything is, and was dying to try their pretzel of all things, so we walked right in at around 5PM. We were seated at a high top table over by the bathrooms, but that didn't bother us. Our waiter was super attentive and really chill. He gave us plenty of time to decide and explained how big some portions were for sharing. We finally decided on our beverages on choice first - a blueberry crumble beer for me and an angry orchard for him. Mine was very fresh and surprising; a great compliment with the pretzel that was HUGE! The cheese may or may not have been beer cheese, but it was addicting! A hidden gem right there under your nose on the menu - get it! The boneless chicken wings with their Kentucky whisky BBQ sauce was absolutely AWESOME - we got the small and it was plenty for us as we also got the hamburger sliders with cheese. They needed a bit of ketchup, but solid pub food. Looking forward to more surprise dates here!

My friend ordered the butterfly field mocktail, which I highly recommend if you're not in the mood for alcohol, it was absolutely delicious. I ordered two of their signature cocktails: Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (best way I can describe it is it's like a high end cologne in cocktail form, but in the best way possible? Very complex flavors) and the Queen of the Desert (cool refreshing cucumber followed by a spicy heat in the back of your throat, grew on me over time). Food was also quite good. I enjoyed the truffle popcorn and I still have no idea how they made those lemongrass chicken ginger dumplings so yummy (I normally don't even like chicken dumplings bc they're usually not as juicy as pork, but these didn't have that problem). They gave us a tiny sample of one of their house-made liquors at the end-- let me tell you, I'm not the biggest fan of just having liquor on its own but dang, that went down sooooo smoothly.
