Being in my 30s, I need to be prepared for a day/night like that. We went here because my friend's husband is from Chicago. If I am going to be honest, not sure if I did not get the right food or do not know Chicago all that well, but felt like another bar in my opinion. However, regardless of the busy crowd and us being seating outside in the back due to a baby, our server, Steven (I think that was his name. Sorry if it is not), was great. Very attentive! I see on the yelp page they have Chicago dogs? How the heck did I miss this?! If I am ever back in BK, will have to check this out because I have been dying for a Chicago dog since I had my first one from Portillo's.

I truly love Salty Dog and have always enjoyed dining in, which is why this review is so…read moredisappointing for me to write. Unfortunately, my recent delivery experiences have been consistently below the standard I've come to expect. The first time, my Asian Chicken Salad arrived without the dressing. Another order my food arrived without the grilled chicken and the rest of the food cold. This latest order was the worst--I found a long hair in my salad. This isn't an inexpensive meal. As shown on my receipt, the salad alone was nearly $22, and my order totaled over $57. At those prices, I expect much better quality control, especially when it comes to food safety. I've never had an issue when eating at the restaurant itself, so I hope this review brings awareness to the quality of delivery orders as well. Customers ordering takeout deserve the same care and attention as those dining in. I genuinely hope management addresses these recurring issues because I'd love to continue supporting a restaurant I've always enjoyed.

It was loud in the beginning , making it hard to converse or hear at the table, as speakers throughout the establishment were loudly transmitting the event with microphones that was happening in the front. Once that ended, we definitely enjoyed dinner more. Biggest highlights of the evening were drinks and service. Every drink we got was well balanced, flavorful and delicious, so kudos to the bartender! Our waiter and busboys were very attentive, friendly, and provided top notch service from start to finish. Dishes came out in timely manner and order, with restaurant service etiquette followed to a T. Food was good overall, fresh and well presented. Portion sizes are decent, everything priced according to location, quality and ambiance. Octopus was tender but didn't have any flavor and was outshined by delicious pesto & burrata in the salad, which was unfortunate as I was looking forward for it to be the start of the dish. Tartar could use more sauce (or salt) to tie all layers together. Bone marrow was delicious, definitely try a side of beef- it melts in the mouth and is a great addition. Duck vareniki was a bit small portion, with good filling/dough ration and the sauce was heavenly. Pizza crust was good but bland toppings made it uneventful. Steak and fish were cooked and seasoned to perfection, side salads were well seasoned and good pairings for protein. Desserts satisfied our sweet tooth after delicious dinner. Definitely will come back.
