My wife had discovered this pizza spot online before we arrived in Rome, so once we finished our Vatican tour we walked over. It was a very hot day and the walk was about 12 minutes, so when we arrived we were ready for some cold water. Pinsa had that. and several pizza choices. I ended up picking their Diavola, a tomato based pie with mozzarella cheese and some spicy salami. It was good, more of a thick firm bottom crust than I'm used to. Their dough is a mixture of 3 different flours, apparently making it fairly unique to the other pizza shops around. The person who took care of us was very nice and upbeat. A Hidden Gem Right on a Busy Street! We only visited this restaurant once, but it completely surprised us in the best way. Being so close to a busy, high-traffic street, I honestly would have normally walked right past it. I've always been told to avoid places like this, but this experience has definitely changed my perspective and made me more open-minded. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were a fairly large group, and the staff handled everything with ease, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. They were incredibly accommodating and genuinely engaging, taking time to chat with us and help us decide what to order without ever feeling rushed. What really impressed me was how warm and attentive the entire experience felt despite the location. It didn't feel like a "tourist stop" at all, it felt personal, welcoming, and thoughtful. The food was excellent as well, but it was the combination of great service, friendly conversation, and their willingness to guide us through the menu that made the visit memorable. Small little pizza shop that is fairly close to the Vatican Museum and Saint Peter's Square. The pizza's are premade but not baked yet with a fairly large selection to choose from. Prices are really inexpensive in comparison to the other restaurants that are close to the Vatican. My ham, mushroom and cheese pizza was well made with lots of gooey cheese and a thin well baked crust with a generous amount of ham and mushrooms. Most importantly, it tasted good. Considering the price of 11 euros total for my pizza and Coke. this was a nice deal for this area and when you consider the quality of the Pizza, this is a place you should definitely check out. read more

I wanted to try Roman pinsa to see how it differed from traditional pizza, and we found this spot nearby while waiting in line for the Vatican. The inside is small and they have one row of counter seats. We ordered a variety of pinsas so we could try some different options. They're served cut in 4 slices, and the portion is perfect if not a bit too much for one person. We tried the eggplant, salami, proscuitto, special, and bacon onion ones - amongst all of them, my favorites were the special and bacon onion. The pinsa itself was interesting as the crust had an airier but kind of dry texture, with a more crumbly crust. I think I still prefer traditional pizza, but this was worth trying! They have a wide variety of pizzas to choose from, and it is fast, hot and fresh once you order. All the pizzas we got were fantastic, and they left us full and satisfied, not bloated or heavy. This creates a "pizza" that's light, thin, crispy, and known for being easily digested. The casual neighborhood restaurant Pinsa 'Mpo offered both a red (Rosse) and white (Bianche) version (with and without tomato sauce, respectively), and we got to try one of both. The Arrabbiata came with a simple topping of tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, garlic, parsley, and red chili flakes, which gave the Pinsa a nice spicy flavor. The Zucca & Porcini came with slices of zucchini, chopped porcini mushrooms, Buffalo mozzarella, and parsley. The toppings on this Pinsa were simple as well, but the earthy, delicate flavors of the zucchini and porcini mushrooms really came out, pairing nicely with the creamy melted mozzarella cheese. WOW! Very busy at lunchtime hole in the wall not just pizza place. I picked out an uncooked Blanco salsiccia e funghi from the case, the guy popped it in the oven and 5 minutes later I got an incredibly tasty perfectly cooked pizza for about €6. I took it to go, hungrily devouring it as i walked back to my apartment. There's virtually no outside seating and limited space stand up counters inside. They do it quick, easy and tight. My favorite discovery in Rome so far. I'll definitely be back. read more

Located just steps away from the Vatican City, this place is a tiny little spot that offered satisfying food at good prices AND offered friendly service to boot! When you first walk in you see a couple of dozen different personal size pizzas prepped with different combo toppings under a large glass protected area. You simply pick the ones you want and they scoop it up with the peel and cook it in the oven for you in just a few minutes! Nice, thick, and doughy crust with plenty of toppings. I had sausage, pepperoni, and ham on mine. Very hot, fresh, and tasty! Plenty of options for drinks including bottled water, soda, and beer. Prices are a little high on the drinks, but that seems to be the norm in these places out here. Two things that stood out about this place when comparing it to other places I ate at during my time in Rome: a) the food was scrumptious and the portion was satisfying and here's the big one... b) they were nice! Yup, actually friendly and personable! Go figure! :P I just wish this place was closer to our hotel. We would have definitely come back for more! 4 stars. read more

Awesome pizza (my bf said it was his favorite of our trip) closed on Sunday or we would have gone again! Got the diavola and the carbonara (both delicious!) and two drinks for 13 euro (really inexpensive for this area) it helped it was walking distance from our hotel so we didn't have to wait to sit down (it is VERY small).
