Light brite!

We recently went to Pins Mechanical for a small birthday gathering. It was my first time there and I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is very big and they have three food trucks. We all tried something different and the food was very good. They have seasonal drinks that were also good. There are games all around this very big space, inside and out and most of them are free! We just made a loop and tried most of the games and ended up in the pinball area. This is a great place for all ages. I had fun and my seven year-old grandson had a blast! From what I saw, you can bring in balloons and birthday cakes, etc. It seemed like the perfect place for a party or just a meet up with friends. I will definitely be back!

Why did it take me so long to find out about this place? It's so huge. The games are good, the beers are good. I'll be back again soon

Went visited Pins a second time on a Sunday evening and I was surprised that it wasn't that busy. I was excited to see three new restaurants had moved into the space since our last visit. I didn't try them since I had already eaten, but will definitely be back for the pizza, sliders and sweet treats. They change out their specialty cocktail menu based on the season, so the drink I wanted again wasn't available. We ended up getting the macho man whiskey cocktail that came with a small slim Jim and the whiskey Good 'Ole Days, which was really good! The bench warmer was unique if you want to try something new. I love all the free games and activities. We can always entertain ourselves for hours here.

The only complaint I have is why they don't expand, because I would love to have one in St. Louis. We were visiting my sister and her family, and wanted something to do. We knew there were a couple breweries over here, so we decided to start at Pins knowing my nephew would want to play the games. And many games were played. We started with their "bowling" which I've never played but wow it was a blast. Something super easy for kiddos too. The skee ball was right by the lanes too which was perfect for keeping kiddos entertained between their turns. Then we walked the rest of the property. Which was INSANE. It's huge and SO MANY GAMES. My husband and I try to find an arcade bar every trip - this spot was so clean, so many options, and honestly, one of our faves. If my nephew wasn't ready to go, we probably could have been here for hours. The bar had so many great beers to choose from, and we even endulged in honestly, one of the better espresso martinis I've ever had. Food is pretty standard pub food - we went close to Thanksgiving so both food locations weren't open. We had wings and toasted ravs and they were pretty standard. If you're looking for something to spend your day doing, this is it. It's all you need. Great arcade, great games, great service, food and beer....the best.

Oh my gosh! This place is HUGE! A wonderful beer and cocktail selection. Perfect for anyone. DOG FRIENDLY! And can we talk about the games?? Why is duck pin bowling so fun yet kinda hard? It doesn't matter my friend and I brought our dogs. We had a couple of drinks and giggled so much!! The staff are super friendly and have always been welcoming with great recommendations if you want some guidance. Also... their uniform / shirts are so cool. I want one! I'll be back! More bowling and other games in my future! Ps. Some great food trucks on site to choose from so you can spend hours walking, talking, snacking and playing! Why be an adult when you can be a big kid!

My visit to Pins was actually more than I expected! The pictures on their website don't do it justice. I wanted to take my friends out for some non traditional bowling, and I came across Pins. I thought it was actually gonna be a small venue but it's huge warehouse with a bar, adult games, and huge screens for watching sports. My friends were all like, "How did you find this?!" The drinks were strong, I had an espresso martini, my boyfriend had one of their nonalcoholic drinks (it was good, had a biters like a negroni!) and the bowling was a hit! They don't serve food but they have food trucks outside and you can order and bring it in. Super neat spot, we need more of this around Austin.

A gaming lounge features three chairs facing screens, with a textured orange wall decorated with framed pictures and lamps.

A perfect indoor (with outdoor options? Summer hangout away from the scorching Texas heat. They have bowling, arcade, party games, and an area nostalgic console games. You can throw events or just to come hang out and watch a game on the big screens. Came here for a kid's birthday party and the whole fam had a blast as it was for all ages. Def recommend if looking for an indoor retreat with activities for everyone.

We absolutely LOVE this place! The vibe is chill. There is plenty to do (mostly free) and the kids can play for hours with their friends while you have a drink with friends and family. They don't sell food but have three vendors to choose from that hit the usual bar food like burgers, fries, pizza, cheese curds, and dessert! The drinks are also very good. The last time we were there (we've been there like four times in the last 2 months) we had the special punch. I recommend buying it by the pitcher. Plus the bartenders are cool - tip them well. We would go more if we could but like most families - we are over scheduled!

Pins Mechanical Co. has been on my bucket list since it opened in April. I'm not much of a bowler, but even if you're not, Pins Mechanical Co has something for everyone! Beyond bowling [duck pin bowling], you'll find giant yard games both inside and out, plenty of TVs and cozy seating for sports fans, a bocce space, old school arcade games, and more. The courtyard even features two permanent food vendors (Jewboy Burgers and Lefty's Pizza Kitchen) and live music (see schedule online for specifics). Drinks are just as plentiful, with beer towers, drafts, liquor, seasonal cocktails, and even boozy snow cones. Whether you're hosting out-of-town guests, planning a unique date night, or just looking for a fun night out, Pins Mechanical Co. is a MUST!! BONUS: After 9 PM, adults only!

I was shocked to discover Pins Mechanical Co nestled in the south Austin St Elmo neighborhood. I live in south Austin and had no idea that this amazing entertainment wonderland existed. Pins is the perfect place for those seeking a memorable time and old-school fun. There is plenty of parking. Walking up there is outdoor space with plenty of seating and outdoor games to enjoy. Once inside, it was sensory overload with 43,000 square feet of an adult playground. They have a variety of games many which are free like vintage arcade and pinball machines. The highlight was the duckpin bowling where you can rent a lane and enjoy a game where the skills are very different than normal bowling. The balls are much smaller and do not have finger holes in them. The pins are smaller as well and they are attached to strings that lift the pins each turn to reset. To my amazement you also get 3 turns instead of 2! Since it was my first time playing this game it took some adjusting to develop skills. They also have pinball, patio pong, hookie, ping pong, bocce, foosball and giant jinga. There are numerous entertainment options for everyone. The business is pet friendly and you can take children there before 9 pm. You can bring in outside food or have it delivered. They also have a few good truck options on site including pizza and JewBoy sliders. You can book an event there. I was there for a run club event and we had a personal server who took our order. We also received drink tickets. There were many unique libations including cocktails. I enjoyed the Atomic Blonde with Tequila, Mezcal, Honey Mango and Pineapple. They also have daily specials throughout the week. The bar staff are efficient and friendly. Their specials are shaved ice cocktails. I will definitely be back for economical fun with free and paid entertainment options. So much fun!!!

Seating - A sports bar interior features a large TV displaying a hockey game, with seating including bar stools and a curved leather couch, and potted plants near the stage.

This place is huge and AWESOME! There are a all kinds of games including bowling, foosball, patio beer pong, jenga and so much more! Plenty of seating throughout and very open area to accommodate many many people without it feeling like a crowd. Great drinks at the bar and a couple of food trucks available outside. You can also bring your own food and hangout. They even have a fireplace going in the evenings. We will come back to play more!

Flor D.

This place is awesome and fun the only bad part is you gotta pay for parking nothing new in Austin but it's getting worse !!!! Food was great service amazing and ambience was super dope !

Weekly Drink Specials - A black sidewalk sign displays weekly drink specials, including 50% off drinks and themed days with discounts on specific spirits, at a bar or restaurant.

What a fun addition to the St. Elmo District! This place has tons of potential and has truly transformed the area. First off, it's massive so there's plenty of space for large groups and events. With multiple bars, food trucks, bowling, arcade games, TVs, and more there's no shortage of things to do. The seating is plentiful, parking is easy, and it stays nice and cool inside even during Austin's hottest days. A few things their adding include weekly drink specials and bringing in permanent food vendors, but I'm excited to have another great entertainment spot in South Austin!

I'm usually not a fan of 'craft cocktails' out bc they're overpriced and not nearly as good as what my partner makes at home, but these were glorious. These drinks had layers of flavor. And fresh ingredients. And they were reasonably priced. Honestly, I don't even remember the last time we had such good drinks out (ok that's a lie but another review and it was at that place where Crowbar used to be - but these win hands down). The bartenders were nice and knowledgeable (Did I mention they make amazing drinks?). The outside has a similar feel to Cosmic but more secluded which is nice. We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there.
