    Basketball game

This is definitely one of the more chill bars on West 6th. I'm sure the vibes are better for game days since it's a sports bar. My friends and I ended our night here after going to the more lively adjacent bars, and this was a good place to sit outside and chat. There was only one other group occupying one of the picnic tables. They have a basketball arcade game that you can pay for, and it was a lot of fun competing with each other.

Visit. Ed this venue while in austin for a business conference. Our team rented out the entire space and it was perfect for the occasion , and they brought in a person who did some excellent barbecue ribs and brisket. Outside the main bar is an area where you can play cornhole and sit outside under the nice cafe.Lighting definitely worth checking out if you have a big group!

I was in town for a work conference and a few of us wanted to go out to watch the Rams vs Vikings playoff game. This place was recommended to me by my friend's son who had attended University of Texas. It was a Monday night so the place was basically empty. Even if it had been busy though there were a lot of TV's so it would have still been easy to see the game. The beers were reasonably priced, and we shared a couple of orders of fries which were fantastic! They have a pop-a-shot machine which made for some friendly competition during halftime of the game. There is an outdoors portion of it too, but it was cold out that night so that part was not open. I definitely recommend this place for watching sports.

Since the last review got taken down I will leave a more detailed one here. On 10/19/24 I witnessed the bar tender assault a patron and whip him with a towel on the back of the head to get his attention, when confronted he then asked to have the patron removed. Multiple other people had complained about this bar tender being aggressive and rude to all other patrons. Here is a picture of said employee

Very cute! Great bartenders . Lots of space inside for large groups of friends a meeting up. Pet friendly, live music! There's so many options within walking distance as well. Great venue!!!

Patio area. Big screens to watch football.

Cool atmosphere and they made me a vegan friendly calzone. The slice of pizza is a huge slice. Two people could share it. Very economical way to eat here.

Nice casual place to have drinks. Burgers at this place are amazing. Hands down one of the best burgers I've had ( I'm from California).

Service was okay. We were obviously not the clientele they were used to. At least they didn't say, "Hey Boomer".

Eclectic decor, crowd and menu; it was very Austin! Service was excellent throughout and we enjoyed trying several dishes off their menu! Began with a cocktail called Roselite which was both delicious and beautiful then we tried a variety of their dishes! My absolute favorite was their oysters Rockefeller which were some of the best I have had anywhere! The topic was crispy and delicious and they were perfectly cooked! Also enjoyed the half dozen or their East Coast oysters that were delicious. Enjoyed their delicious yellowfin tuna with lemons, capers, shallots and olive oil. The fries and onion dip were also just excellent ! My only let down - and it was barely that as it was so delicious and fresh - was the smoked trout dip! Part of it was a me problem as I was comparing it to my favorite version made by State Bird - a famous eatery in San Francisco where this is one of their go to dishes - and part of it was that this restaurant has that Feankin BBQ tie so when they said smoked - I was looking forward to that smoke forward taste and their was none - but it was fresh, delicious and well prepared! Had a fantastic time here and will definitely go back! Highly recommend Uptown!

The service was excellent. Our server was very nice and attentive! We enjoyed chatting with him. The gumbo was pretty good and very flavorful. I enjoyed it quite a bit. The tartare was okay, probably not my personal favorite. The menu had a lot of burgers and sandwiches, which are not quite my go-to options, so we got apps and drinks. The drinks were good, priced at an upscale downtown markup.

Looking for a place to watch March Madness and it felt like a humid day packed like sardines in a Boston T car when we walked in and out of Lavaca. We were quite enlightened to walk into The Pub, right around the corner, welcoming us to a cool and dim space with tiled floor, trimmed walls, and embellishments of faux trees. The space wasn't overly packed and a good amount of TVs to feel supported by at least three different sporting events. Even a TV in the men's room (not women's). Service was great! Regular table sweeps. Eric at the bar was very kind and accommodating. What to order? You're in an Irish Sports Bar. A Guinness is a must. The heads were perfect. Pastrami sandwich. You won't be disappointed. And the Burger was actually pretty good too, and unique with touches of arugula and mixed brisket and ground beef meat. Of course, it's always a fun touch to have some special sauce offered. The only thing I noticed that seemed unusual was, not only an automatic tip applied but also, a credit card processing fee added to the bill. Felt a little odd and out of place. Of course, I'm not sure if this is applied with regular service, as we ordered directly from the bar (despite sitting at a high top nearby). Another observation: a lot of people ordered wine and even espresso martinis here. Either they know something I don't, or this place calls to a variety of people. Cheers!

For reasons that make no sense to any experienced summer festival-goer, the Q2 powers-that-be decided to make this a "no re-entry" event, meaning that attendees are basically locked in the stadium with very few options for relief from the heat. Thank heaven for PointsBet Sports Bar! PointsBet Austin is located inside of Q2 stadium on the north end near the Zebra Gate, up some stairs just to your right as you enter the gate. They have cold air-conditioning, at least one phone recharging station, a few table games, seating for at least 50 people, and standing room for a couple hundred others. Plus, there's a huge horseshoe bar serving plenty of canned and mixed beverages. The whole north wall is floor-to-ceiling windows, providing plenty of natural light. Lastly, there are 18 flatscreens around the walls showing various sporting events and during our concert, a couple were streaming a live view of the concert stage. As expected, prices were "high" (like everything else in Austin these days), but they were in line with pricing available at the other beverage stands outside in the stadium, so we didn't pay any more than we would have out there for the same drink. According to their website, PointsBet opens 3 hours before soccer matches on regular Q2 game days, and it's one of the few air-conditioned places where non-VIP attendees can get a break from the goings-on outside.
