Pink Dozen has become part of a new tradition I've come up with to start the day well. You see, I suffer from insomnia. I will sometimes wake up at obscenely early hours (if I fell asleep at all), and I won't be able to fall back asleep. This would leave me in a rotten mood for the rest of the day. This is by far the best doughnut shop in town. I have a teen boy and we go here all the time! Well it was my son's birthday and I asked him if he wanted to get up early and I would take him out to eat for breakfast before school, but he wanted to sleep in and have doughnuts at Pink Dozen. I had this idea that maybe they could write Happy B-day on a doughnut and surprise him. I called less then an hour before we were going. I was literally walking my dog and the idea came to me. I called and they remembered us because we are regulars, I asked and the nice lady said she would try. They are busy because its the best doughnut shop in town, so I would totally understand if she couldnt do this. I called so last minute. Fast forward an hour and we walk in and she says Happy Birthday to my son. My son was like how does she know its my birthday. She gave him the doughnut. It said Happy B-day on his favorite doughnut and she even put sprinkles. He was surprised and it made his day. It made mine too. They go above and beyond. This was so cool. I love this place. This place has hands down the best doughnuts in the area. I've had some good doughnuts too, from places like Marie's in Sac, and Pink Dozen is way better. They might not have the same selection as some of the larger shops in Sac, but their quality is over the moon good. They had a good variety of donuts to choose from, and best of all, donut holes were only $1.50 for a dozen. There is a small charge (35 cents) for credit cards so try and remember to bring cash. So the nearest Krispy Kreme is probably like 20 miles away. I decided to try this place out one day during a donut craving. It's a small store front, but I was really amazed how delicious their donuts are! So soft, yummy, and cheap! The Asian lady (I believe she owns this place along with her husband) is really sweet. She always has a smile on her face. I feel all the love from this mom n pop donut shop every time I go here. My favorites here are the bear claw and chocolate bars. Soo big and delicious! I wish I could wake up early enough to pick and eat their donuts right when they come out! Sadly, I'm not a morning person. :( read more

I've been to both Fluffy Donuts and Pink Dozen, both at all hours of the day. The one issue I have with this place is how it closes early on the weekends. But I personally love this place. It opens early and prompt, unlike Fluffy which is always uncertain on it's opening time. The donuts are great. Delicious apple fritters, cake donuts, and glazed. This place recently opened and took over Variety Donuts. The donuts and everything tasted the same as Variety Donuts. This is not my favorite spot to get donuts but it's the only place that opens early. I prefer Fluffy donuts but they are so unreliable at opening on time. This place opens at 5AM and they actually have quite a selection to choose from at that time. Five stars for being opened during hours! The last three times I went to Fluffys was at 8, 11, and noon, and Fluffys was closed early bc they sold out. Unlike Fluffys, Pink Dozen makes donuts until closing and they taste better too. read more

Came at the end of the day and they gave us a half dozen assorted donuts for $4.95! The lady even filled the remaining space in the box with complimentary donut holes. Considering they are baked fresh everyday, "end of the day" donuts at 2pm for under $5 is an amazing deal. The donuts aren't too sweet - which is another plus for me! read more

Fruit Loops Cereal toppings? - perfect for my niece and nephew! I had my old standby: Maple Old Fashion. Crunchy edges and moist center....perfect...I can't wait to go back. I went there Mon-Fri my whole pregnancy just for the doughnut holes, I found out fast that you have to get there early tho because all the school kids will beat you to them. This place is dangerously close to my house and is run by a cute older asian couple. They open really early (I think 5am?) and close around 2 or 3 pm (I would call to double check on this) I really love their old-fashioned maple donuts, especially when you get them freshly made, early in the morning. What a great place! Donuts are awesome and usually sellout early. Customer service goes above and beyond! My daughter wanted pink donuts specifically from this shop so knowing how quickly they sell out i ordered a dozen and a half to pick up later. She said she didnt need my credit card number and that i could pay at pick up. Then she called me back later to say they'd be closed by noon bc they were selling so fast. I couldnt get in by then so instead of just selling them to someone else she offered (if I wanted) to have the manager of the business next door hold them. My husband ended up picking them up from subway next door and i went back the next day to pay for them. She also gave me a few extras! Who DOES all that?! I ordered a maple sprinkle donut and chocolate bar for my wife(she said she wished she got two maple sprinkle donuts instead) and I got myself a custard and fruity pebbles donut. I liked both my donuts and I have to say that I was very impressed with my custard donut because some custard donuts have just a little bit of custard filling. Love coming here for a quick coffee and donut run. The donuts are delicious and taste fresh. They have a good variety and the prices Aren't bad at all. One thing I will say is make sure to come early or later in th mornings on Wednesday's. I think the middle school kids go in late that day and it can be crowded than usual. Literally my favorite place in all of Davis. I'm always so happy and bouncy when I come by here and see their donut selection. They always make things fresh in the morning, and you can definitely taste how fluffy and airy the donuts are. They've got everything under the sun and just a few more. My favorites are probably their blueberry cake donut, their maple cinnamon rolls, and their amazing bear claws with fresh apples. I also love their bars. All of them. Cereal bar, maple bar, chocolate bars. Eat them all day, everyday. Just writing this makes me salivate. I've actually tried a few donut places around Davis and this place has got to be hands down the best. When we still lived around North, my boyfriend and I always tried to wake up a little earlier than usual just so we can stop by this place and get four or five donuts to go before we start our Sunday morning routine, along with a large cup of coffee. The owners are locals, super sweet, and they do recognize regulars, sometimes throwing in a few donut holes into our bag as we leave. This place is so special to me, a kind of special that you almost don't want to share it with other people, especially since they run out of donuts every now and then (like on rainy days, when it's the best time to get a fresh donut and coffee).
