Miscommunication, misunderstanding, whatever it might be, I had to come here to complain for the first time ever on Yelp about the staff. Waiting in line, granted I don't speak Spanish. Person in front of me orders, I'm next. And I wait, and wait. The lady proceeds to look over me, and start taking people's orders over me in Spanish as I still wait first in line. First person, I let it go, but next a family has now been chosen over me from behind me to order. Great Service in the key largo location however no air conditioner or at least is not working.

Have been to this bakery 3 times. The pastelitos are always fresh. The coffee is delicious. They have a wide variety of baked goods including Colombian baked goods. I think they will do very well in this location. read more

I was at the newly opened Bird Rd. location with my boyfriend (black) and me ( Colombian) and I don't know if the cashier sensed I wasn't CUBAN, but the attitude and bad customer service was really unexpected! The Cuban pastries (aka pastelitos) were very good! We had the guava & cheese pastry and it had the right amount of filling. It was not dried nor too flaky. It was very good and I will definitely be visiting again with my family. read more

The worst part about this place is the service. If I could, I MIGHT give it a 3.5 stars for food, but the service is just so bad, I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. No one that runs their small business like that should be allowed to take business from small business owners that strive to make their customers happy, and that get joy out of doing so. The service at this location is impressively fast!!! Coffee is always good and tostadas are on point! Croquetas de pollo, jamón, espinaca and bacalao are all great! Went with family late at night, and waiter had very nasty Attitude with us. We left disappointed of how she treated us and others. Besides that the food didn't feel fresh which is not what I'm used to. The food here is pretty good but the service is below average. Service was really slow in the morning when a bakery should be at its best. Waited almost ten minutes just to get three pastelitos. You can order online and this location is open 24 hours. The service was fast and my customers loved the bocaditos.

It was okay. I've had much better croquettes. The media noche sandwich was meh... Ham and cheese had no flavor. Could be better. If I were the owner I would perfect that croquette recipe and tweak the other recipes before the expand too much and end up like don pan did and have to close because of quality. I don't know what all the hate is about! I love this place for later in the evening. It's a great for a little treat. Granted, this is Miami and you do need to speak Spanish to a degree in order to function normally. Many of the girls who work here speak limited English, so be prepared for that. That being said, the desserts and coffee are going to be Cuban style, which is by no means a bad thing. The desserts I have tried are full of tropical flavor, and the guava pastries are something special. The Cuban coffee here is strong and like it should be, and they do serve halfs as well. Make sure you specify how you want it, some of the girls automatically make it con leche, others sugar only. Seating is limited, but this is first and foremost a bakery, even with the extensive breakfast and lunch menu. Service is a touch slow in the evenings, but they take care to wrap things nicely and to secure your drinks. I look forward to going back and working my way through the very colorful case! read more

Well I've heard some good things about this place. But my experience was not so great. I ordered a steak sandwich, which was not the worst I have ever had, but there was nothing special about it at all. My girlfriend got a philly cheese steak. I know.... At a Cuban place, what did we expect? Well at least not this. The bread was so dry and stale that she could not even eat it. And!! There was not even cheese on it.... A philly cheese steak..... The thing is that there are a lot of people in Miami who don't speak spanish and who might like to spend their money here. Today I wanted to order about $30 worth of croquettas and such but since no one could explain to me how many croquettas are in an order (is it 1 or is it 3? online it looks like 3? but i really can't tell..) when i called a store, I am giving up and going to Gilberts where at least one person always is fluent in English - at least the one On Bird road anyway. Or I might give Versailles a try because that is delicious too. I go and stand in line and don't mind so much that there's not fluent english in person. It is fine. But it is shocking that there's not any interest in the english-only patrons to have ONE person fluent in english. They are usually short-staffed as others have mentioned. They just don't have a good method of work flow, I guess. More often than not, I wait at least 10 minutes - if i go between 9 am and 1pm. The workers seem to always be scrambling. Maybe they need a consultant on work flow, i have no idea. I live close enough to Versailles to go there instead, so maybe that's what i'll do. I might be done with the waiting. :D and Versailles might actually be yummier!! (for the phone call, i got passed around to 3 people trying to be the one who understood the question.. i tried a few ways - "how many croquettas are in an order online?" "how much does one ham croquetta cost?" - i don't know how else to phrase it and my spanish is not refined enough to translate that... like i said, I"m fairly sure of the answer, but i'm not going to risk it today and have already waited inline once today at a store- so i'm not going back 2 more times to try to figure it out.) read more

This location always amazes me.. as busy as it gets and crowded full of people they tend to work fast and comply with everything.. these girls are doing what they can to keep everything flowing and keep everyone satisfied. If you like cold food, incredibly stupid people and guava on your croquettes this is the place for you. Unfortunately I live two blocks or so from the south Miami location for delivery but after begging them to deliver to me so I don't have to deal with the pinecrest location they finally agreed and I have been ordering from them since which has been great. Today I was told they no longer will deliver to me and I have to order from their other location which they promised has fixed all issues. It took 15 min to place an order, the delivery guy was lost and took for ever, he didn't have a pen to sign the credit card receipt, the food was cold and they insist on putting my croquettes with the pastelitos other than that it was perfect. FINALLY, an authentic Cuban bakery in the area. Everything is fresh, they are opened very early which is convenient. They should clarify that it is a Latin Bakery so that those who do not enjoy una tostada or cafe con leche don't walk in expecting a french croissant. read more

There are only a few places in South Miami-Dade that stays open past Midnight or 24 Hours and is good, this one of those places. No make what time of the day/night, this place has very good food, from Spanish to American food, as well as a full bakery with a mix of Spanish and American desserts. So if it is early in the morning or late at night and you are hungry or need good coffee and everybody is still closed, you count on this place to take care of you. read more

The service was horrible and everything was cold and tasted old and it took 30 minutes to come out since it was being made "fresh". But far from fresh it was.
