I had very high expectations for Zak the Baker and those expectations were met! After a bit of confusion waiting on line to order, then being told that I should sit at a table, I tried the hibiscus iced tea and the tuna melt. Everything tasted fresh. the bread was fantastic and the ingredients were delicious. It came with a salad on the side that was better than most salads I've had at restaurants. When I left I bought a cinnamon rugaleh " just to try it". Also fantastic. I thought going at the end of the day would leave very little desirable products, but I was wrong. Everything was fantastic.

We stopped for lunch at Zack the Baker before visiting the Wynwood Walls. We found on street parking just around the corner from Zaks. The indoor seating, which has table service, seemed very loud (but lively) so we opted to eat outdoors. For outdoor seating, you need to order take out and bring it outdoors to the tables they have set up. We ordered Bagel and Lox sandwiches and tap water. I love a place that will serve you tap water with ice to go. The sandwich was truly extraordinary. The bagel and lox were wonderful but the pickled onions and roasted (?) capers are what really made it unique. I also liked that they did not smother it with cream cheese. It also had a slice of tomato. The service was terrific and was happy to give suggestions as we tried to decide what wonderful things we should try from the menu.

Buzzy spot in Wynwood. Line to sit was long so we opted for takeaway which moved quickly. Extensive baked goods offerings including dairy free/vegan options which I loved! I enjoyed the green juice and the vegan banana bread. Olive oil cake was also good with a good crumb but I prefer olive oil cakes with a bit more citrus flavor and less frosting

We love bread so we had to see what the hype was for Zak and it was not disappointing, everything tasted very good and came in warm. The desserts are amazing as well and so is everything we got. I wish the portions would be bigger but you still get a good fill from it. Definitely order a loaf of bread especially the sourdough, we got a seat next to the workers making bread and it was so interesting to see all the bread being made !

Everything good you've read about Zak the Baker is true! Really great food and service all around. Although, we were a bit late to our 9am reservation (the lady in the front made sure we knew we were 10-12 minutes late) we were seated right away. Love the open kitchen/bakery layout. Kind of cool that you can watch them turn dough into goodness! Our waitress was super chill & helpful. Just a head's up, this is a kosher restaurant/bakery. We opted for the French Toast [$18] & it was divine. My mouth is watering as I remember how good it was. Came with fresh blueberries along with two really thick slices. The cream was really light & the filling was soooo good. Did not need syrup, although I'm sure if syrup was used it'd just enhance it. That dish alone deserves a 5/5! Yes, it's shareable, so get your best buddies in here and try it! Also got the Nova Bagel [$16] on an Everything Bagel, of course from their own bakery. Really good choice as the salmon was plentiful and suuuper fresh. Got a side of scrambled eggs [$4] which could feed a village and was surprisingly really tasty. Typically, a side of eggs is bland, but nope, not here at Zak the Baker. Got their two most popular pastries to go & both lived up to the hype as well [$5.50 Almond Croissant & $5.00 for the Pain Au Chocolate] Just really pleased with this place. Make a reservation if you can, this restaurant is crazy busy! Loved that we did not feel rushed though.

came here on a Friday with my wife after walking around wynwood and honestly was not expecting much. glad I was wrong lol. got the challah, tuna melt, and a coffee and just sat outside for like an hour. sandwich was thick, fresh, didn't fall apart which sounds like a low bar but you'd be surprised. Challah is homemade and you can tell. also grabbed a rugelach on the way out and ate it in the car immediately so that should tell you something. the people working there were normal and nice, no attitude, just friendly. place gets busy but it didn't feel chaotic or anything. pretty relaxed actually. the spot itself is cool, very wynwood, big open space with good light. doesn't feel touristy even though I'm sure tons of tourists go there. anyway yeah. good food, good vibes, fair prices. will keep going back whenever I'm in the area. one of those places you're just glad exists

Pretty disappointing experience and should have done my homework instead of assuming I could get a bakery item by walking in. If you order at their counter, it's only for bakery items and drinks. A bagel with cream cheese is considered a kitchen item, so you wouldn't be able to order this (we waited in a 30 min line and only until we got to the counter they said that). 9:00 on a Sunday and there was already a 50 minute wait time even though there were open tables around. The line to order at the counter was all over the place. Would order ahead online and just do pickup. The cinnamon roll was tasty though, but waiting in that long of a queue was really not worth it.

I've loved this bakery since it first started. The food is always delicious and fresh. The service is excellent One thing that can be improved on is the wait time for to go beverages, you have to wait while in house orders are filled, we waited about 20 minutes for a matcha latte; a take out only beverage station would be nice. But the bread and pastries we picked up were so good! The restaurant is always busy and loud, I love it!!

    Rugelach... so good

I really lucked out and got there after the mad lunch rush ... it was around 330pm, lucky me! I have been here before, but never left a review... today's the day! Brian was my server and he was very friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable while dining alone in a VERY crowded restaurant. Typically lines are out the door here. I ordered the "unassuming" tuna melt sandwich which features tuna salad with tarragon and cranberries, sharp cheddar cheese, heirloom tomatoes, pressed on their signature country sourdough bread. OMG.... It was so warm & crispy, and OK, I'll say it, best tuna melt I have ever had. I paired it with their amazing lemonade and I just enjoyed my solo lunch. I ate inside this time. Typically there's a line out the door. There's also some seating outside, but this day it was raining. Since this is a bakery, how could I not try the rugelach? I haven't had rugelach this good since I made it from a recipe from Hebrew School decades ago. They're super authentic and 10/10. I also bought an almond croissant for tomorrow .... I had reached capacity ! And Brian, thank you again for the great service. Don't sleep on this Miami staple. The food is heavenly good and I wish I lived closer. Zak, if you're reading this review, please open up a NYC or NJ location!

I have heard so many good things about Zak The Baker over the years but after trying Zak The Baker for the first time, I honestly don't see what the hype was about. I'll go into more details below: I went to Zak The Baker for a weekday lunch and was seated with minimal wait. It took a few minutes for a server to greet me and the service was overall pretty cold. The restaurant has a mandatory 18% service charge and the staff didn't seem to care about providing good service because the gratuity was already tacked on to the bill. I ordered a Cold Brew Coffee ($5.50) to start. The coffee was good and locally brewed in Miami. The server advised they only have Whole, Almond, and Oat milk for creamer, pretty limited in my opinion for the cost of the coffee. For food, I loved the variety of fresh and locally grown items. I wanted to get the Caesar Salad but add a protein, and the server advised they can't add proteins to the salad because "they are a fully Kosher kitchen and restaurant" and he seemed to get an attitude about it. The restaurant doesn't advertise themselves as being a fully Kosher restaurant or I would have never come here as I don't have a need to pay a premium to dine at a fully Kosher restaurant. The server advised the only protein they could provide was Salmon and it would be prepared on a separate plate. So I opted on spending less and getting the Tomato Bisque and Grilled Cheese ($15). The tomato bisque was really good, the sandwich was average and the servers completely disappeared after my food arrived and I left as soon as I flagged someone down for my check. My stomach was messed up later in the day after my meal so I'm not really sure about their food preparation at the restaurant and won't go back.

I had heard that this bakery makes its bread fresh every day, so I was excited to try it. I ordered a latte and a chocolate croissant. The latte was good, but the croissant was just okay neither great nor bad. I did appreciate that it had a generous amount of chocolate, though. Overall, the experience was average.

I like how you an see the bread and pastries being baked here it's so cute. Everything was yummy! I did enjoy the savory foods more than the pastries though. The mushroom toast and grilled cheese was so good! The tomato soup was my favoriteeee

Anyone know if they stopped takeout? Last two sundays I've checked their ordering site and it has been closed. Is it temporary or the new rule?

6/27: Just ordered a large order from the website for pickup/takeout.. However, definitely recommend to double check your order before leaving so you don't end up having to come back like we did.

Will you be selling KFP desserts?

Are they dog friendly ? What about a emotional support dog?

I go to Zack often and have seen people with emotional support dogs on occasion. I guess they are allowed.

Are there two locations? Or is this the wrong address?

They moved to the corner on the same street one block over! You cannot miss it!

The tiramisu matcha was terrible. It tastes NOTHING like tiramisu. We waited quite a while before anyone came to our table, and even after that, every time we needed something, it took a long time to get assistance. We started with coffee, which was fine, but the service continued to be very slow. When my husband ordered the chicken burger with fries, we waited nearly 30 minutes, only to be told afterward that they had run out of fries. That was extremely frustrating, especially after such a long wait. The waiter did try to make up for it by offering us some desserts on the house, which was appreciated, but it didn't make up for the overall experience. Going out to eat should be enjoyable and relaxing, not a situation where you constantly have to chase down your server. The food I tried was okay, but the service and lack of organization really took away from the experience. It seems like management needs improvement. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I want to give it the compliments it deserves. And really you walk in and think of nice this will quality. I was received with a smile and the server was always nice to me, he answered my questions and was super polite and friendly. I cannot say the same for my friends apparently they were welcomed into the restaurants with comments of " oh youre vegetarian? are you only ordering appetizers?" which like if thats all someone qwants to order, that should be fine. But then it seems that being a large group of 10 (which only 8 showed up and I can understand that can be annoying) seemed like they didnt like that the group may not all order a $90 main course. So I ordered a salad, because I saw 6 of the tables around me with this salad and i thought damn this must be an amazing salad. The server confirmed it was a favorite and I should order it. Great I love a good salad with duck confit, come on! Everyone else ordered. The service throughout was quite slow but again, we were a group we were entertained by our own company. 2 of 8 people returned their dish and a few others didnt return it but said it was whatever, which i can also include this salad to a very whatever list. It wasnt bad, i was hungry, I ate it but its nothing to write home about. Plain, simple and FYI i was not expecting a cheesecake factory situation i was just expecting something a little more but whatever again, whatever. Everyone said the food was pretty bland except the Salmon Wellington, they seemed to be happy with their dish. Now I know they were supremely annoyed because the manager came to charge us as we asked to pay separately (again i understand the annoyingness of this but such is life my friends) and the guy asks me for my card, swipes and says nothing, says no amount, no signature, no idea until today when i check my account i had no idea how much he charged. Anyways in general i just dont see the appeal to this place, its very pricey but like super kudos for the location, i was hoping it was going to be a new go to french spot relatively close to me. I write this mostly because my sinciere wish is that they see it and although ive seen they dont respond so nicely to reviews on google hopefully if you read it (attn:owner/manager) you read it only in a nice tone. and if youre still here - I paid $105 for a frisee salad and a glass of red wine.
