We go to a couple of different Pinecrest Bakeries in Miami, so we were anxious to try the Key Largo bakery to compare. It was very similar to ours. Most of the ladies who work there do not speak English just like in Miami, but there is always one who speaks a little English and if you can speak a little Espanol and point to what you want, you will get what you came there for. Our server was friendly and helped us get our favorite guava pastries. Their prices are very reasonable here. They were fresh baked and smelled so good! They also have Cuban coffee, iced and hot. They make delicious cakes and donuts. And the favorite there is the Cuban Sandwich, which is generously filled with ham, shredded pork, pickle, cheese and crusty bread. They also have pastelitos and croquettas. Parking is right in front of the super cute casa restaurant. There is outdoor dining and a few tables inside also. They have a drive-in also. It is clean and nicely decorated. We will go back next trip. read more

First of all they had a drive through!! Already winning!! We decided to split a croqueta sandwich which was absolutely bomb af. And we got some coffees to go. Definitely a good choice to save money. Why sit down for breakfast when you can take it to go!! The line was a little long but the ladies were sweet. And it was on our way to the beach. Can't get any better read more

Food itself great. But they are unbelievably slow, even when there isn't a rush you'll have to wait close to 15 to 20 minutes for pastries. They have a drive-thru which is convenient. They have quite a few signs that say "now open 24 hours" or "24 hours", absolutely not true. We went there at 10pm one day and they were closed. But great pastries. read more

THE WORST DONT GO THERE. I went to get a birthday cake for my mom and THREE OF THE LADIES working at that time were EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME. The younger one with blonde hair, the oldest one (is she deaf or what? I said hi multiple times and she didn't even looked at me) and the old one with dark skin (maybe fake spray tan). They talked to me as if I was literally stupid. Also the place was NOT CLEAN. Please think twice before you go there. read more

Key Largo Pinecrest Bakery is a good place to pop in for delicious Cuban savories and sweets -- if you have time to wait. They need some more employees! Servers were very sweet, but it took a loooooooong time to get a few chicken croquettes and gauva pastatillos. Very delicious, nice plus that they have a drive thru, but it's definitely not a quick stop. read more

I thought this place was terrific. It's a Cuban bakery with outstanding coffee and pastries. Their English isn't the greatest but neither is my Spanish so we made it work. Your coffee might be served in tiny drinking vessel. Relax. This isn't Starbucks. There's a lot of caffeine in this stuff, plus it's delicious. Highly recommended for authentic Cuban coffee and baked goods. read more

Discovered this bakery from a recommendation from a local server in. So glad we went and tried it. We ordered a Keylime pie to take home. It was very reasonably priced at $13. We also took The bakeries recommendation and ordered the guave cake, crème brûlée, and some thing similar to eclair. The guava cake was awesome. Everything here was very good and the best part about it is it's open 24 hours with the drive-through. If you're visiting the keys, I highly recommend stopping here. read more

Whoa big disappointment, not with the food because we never got that far, there were a few customers sitting at the tables inside tapping their feet waiting on their orders, the outside completely empty and a car parked in the drive-through for who knows how long. After browsing the pastry case for longer than I wanted to, I was ready to ask a few questions and place an order but the employees were pre-occupied and most of the pastries weren't labeled. After making it obvious I was ready to get the ordering process underway, I couldn't make the connection tick tock 5 minutes, 10 minutes and still absolutely no acknowledgement that I exist. Well it quickly became apparent I wasn't going to taste any of their desserts today and likely ever so I split empty handed without even a thank you for stopping by... read more

Very popular place including by locals. Had to wait for approximately 45 to get the order in and have the food ready (note, nothing needed to be made to order). Altogether it took about an hour to get coffee and a pastry which was intended to be a 10 min stop. The coffees were good. The key lime pie was decent - the velvet cake and chocolate cakes were not worth the wait. read more

Very sweet and welcoming ladies. Was a last minute thing and definitely glad we came in. Colda was delicious and so many amazing desserts the make your mouth water. Service could be better. Food is a little greasy. Also not feeling very authentic.

NOT WORTH THE HYPE. This place is completely disorganized. My hubs and I stopped in here for breakfast and walked into a madhouse. Cool, it's popular, must be good. They had a number station to pull a number from so we pulled a number and stood out of the way of the door as more people were coming into the restaurant. The place was busy. 5 minutes later we notice they aren't calling numbers and seem to be just randomly helping people with no real system in place. I asked an employee what the deal was and she said they weren't using the number system today so we went to the back of the unorganized "line" and lost our place in line which was frustrating. Subsequently we saw a LOT of cars moving through the drive thru so I am guessing they put more effort into getting cars through than they do the people in the actual lobby. Anyway, I ordered a monte cristo and my husband ordered a breakfast sandwich. It took 20 minutes to get our food. My monte cristo was cold, not warm like they are usually served. It was not served with the perfunctory jam so I asked for some and they said they don't serve jam. WTF. I have had LOTs of monte cristo sandwiches in my life and have neve had one cold or without jam. Its like serving a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with no jelly and over noodles instead of bread. My husbands breakfast burrito was bland and meh. We decided to give the place another chance since it had high ratings and went back a few days later in the evening for dessert. My husband had oreo cheesecake which was dry, bland, and tasted like sugar without any cream or cheese. I had the neopolitan bar which tasted old and stale. Their desserts are not labeled so you have no idea what you are ordering. I asked an employee what a few things were but she seemed annoyed having to explain what they were. Staff seemed impatient, borderline rude, and had a "take it or leave it" attitude. I mispronounced the name of one of their menu items and the gal working openly made fun of me and made a weird face like I was an idiot. This place is also NOT open 24 hours as the sign indicates. The evening we arrived they were getting ready to close and it was only 9 pm. Skip this place. There are a lot better options in the area for better eats. read more

Pinecrest Bakery in Key Largo is part of a chain of bakeries with pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and salads. The pastries are what we go there for as well as their coffee! I always love coming to Pinecrest, everything there is consistently great, and the service is phenomenal. Today Betsy helped with our pretty complicated order, and she went above and beyond. We paid $42.90 for 7 donuts/baked goods, 1 beer, and an individual serving of wine. I still can't figure out how it was so expensive. I think the lady may have charged me for a full bottle of wine. Baked goods were not great, especially considering the price. read more

The girls are nice- but they have been trained to be super aggressive. Just wanted a sandwich- would you like fries and a drink? Nope- just the sandwich. How about a dessert? Nope, just the sandwich. How about a cafe after your lunch... dude, I just want a sandwich. So, I get the sandwich. A club sandwich. A club sandwich is toasted bread, lettuce tomato, bacon ham and cheese. Bread was untoasted, no mayo... just a triple decker white bread sandwich. Could I have ensured they make it this way? Yes- but dude. The bacon was super curled so you're eating a super thick fried piece of rubbery bacon. Just pretty disappointing. I've had this in other locations and it's been leaps and bounds better. Music was a little louder than I'd like, wifi was not working, just all in all meh. The service wasn't bad at all, the girls were nice and attentive- just whatever club sandwich making skills. read more

Bro. I walked into Pinecrest Bakery expecting to be spiritually fed. Instead, I left linguistically confused, financially violated, and emotionally limp. No one speaks a lick of English, which--respect--but unless you're a Michelin-star Cuban abuela or took Duolingo way more seriously than I did, good luck ordering anything other than confusion with a side of regret. None of the pastries are labeled. It's like a culinary roulette wheel with zero instructions and everyone behind you breathing down your neck like you're holding up TSA. I got to the front, made eye contact with the lady behind the counter, opened my mouth--and was promptly ignored like a broke man in a Lambo dealership. Five minutes of standing there raw, unacknowledged, questioning every life choice that led me to this fluorescent-lit fever dream. The worst part? It looked good. Like "shut up and take my money" good. Problem is my white ass could only identify maybe two pastries, and neither of them were what I wanted. But I panicked and went with the Cubano, a slice of Oreo cake, some carrot cake, and two mini carrot cupcakes for the homie and I to split. Got in the car, ready to devour... and holy shit. I haven't been that disappointed since my ex told me she "wasn't ready for anything serious" and then got married 3 months later. The Oreo cake? Disrespectful. Should be illegal to call that Oreo anything. Cardboard with frosting would've hit harder. Carrot cake? Not offensive, not exciting. Just there. Mid. Like the guy she tells you not to worry about. Cubano? My brother in Christ, if I wanted a mayo sandwich I would've stayed home and ate depression on white bread. Key lime pie? You're in KEY LARGO. You had one job. This pie tasted like it was made by someone who's only read about Florida in a textbook. Bland, soggy, soulless. Final thoughts: Service? Ass. Food? Ass. Price? Straight-up highway robbery. I dropped $45 and left hungry, confused, and white as hell. This place is a trap for out-of-towners with hope in their eyes. Don't fall for the glass case lies. read more
