We parked in front of the Wells Fargo Bank, and two security guards were watching us, and since they've been watching us, I confronted them, where a good place to have lunch. They recommend us two restaurants, and one was the Pine Tavern, where there's a lake view, which my husband were planning (anyway) to take us. We've got two hours to park there, so we hurried and we found it across the street. We were seated (by a window as I asked), and directed us to our seats. We ordered the same sandwich, with different side dish. He got French Onion soup, and I had Clam Chowder with our Half a Tuna Sandwiches. I was surprise to see vegetables in my Clam Chowder, that was a first! Both were quite good, except I didn't care for Onion Soup. Hubby loves his. I've taken photos inside, and only the next day, hubby realized there are two huge tree trunk inside the living room. ('Really? I didn't see that!' he questioned). My photo showed it, and we were talking to a cousin visiting with us, and we're talking & laughing about the trees, even after showing him my photo. It was hilarious! Our waitress gave us a complimentary dessert for our wedding anniversary. We picked Sky High Mud Pie. (Thank you!) We made the right choice to come here! BTW: They also have nice restrooms, and curtain for privacy room dining.

Outdoor seating was great, right on the banks of the river. The service was good, efficient and friendly. The food was good, not great. We'll try other items on the menu next time. We'll try the clam chowder instead of the French onion soup next time.

Visited on a Sunday evening. We were able to get last-minute reservations for 8 PM just a few hours before. Highly recommend sitting in the back patio garden if the weather is good it was beautiful in August. The service was very friendly and timely for us. We had the calamari, rockfish and fish and chips They were all very good and I especially like the fish and chips.

Sadly we were one of the ones who had the slowest service ever. It was an hour and 10 minutes before our dinner plates appeared before us and we had already set a cut off time to pay for our drinks and leave. Unfortunately they seemed highly understaffed yet they continued to set people at every single table even though they knew full well that the kitchen could not keep up. My steak was overcooked and the chicken while moist seemed particularly bland. Clam chowder was meh and the wedge salad was good but who are we kidding, it's a wedge of iceberg lettuce dressed up. Ambiance was lovely. Sadly it's a place that would never get a redo from us. Our poor server kept apologizing yet no attempts were made to appease us with a free drink or dessert. Not that we needed anything free but at that point it just seemed as if the restaurant should be trying to make amends. Also we heard a server asking a table behind us if they'd like clam chowder while waiting and she excitedly said "it's on the house because of your long wait"! Really? ‍

My boyfriend and I had dinner here our first night in Bend, which happened to be St. Patrick's Day. We had totally forgotten the day, and were surprised to find the entirety of downtown packed with people! We had decided to try this place because of its particular historic relevance to Bend. Luckily, since we only had a party of two, we were able to get a table relatively quickly. They had live Irish music for the celebration and people were packing in like crazy. We were seated in the very front of the restaurant, so unfortunately we didn't get to see the back area with the tree trunk growing through the ceiling. It was far too busy for me to feel comfortable wandering around to sightsee inside. It's a cute older building with a traditional pub vibe, and the menu mostly has a slightly elevated pub food to match. Photos of varying significance line the walls. Many seem to reflect famous people who may or may not have been patrons over the years. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the mac and cheese with bacon. While both are simple dishes, they were both prepared well and quite tasty. The waitress was very efficient, but also laid back and friendly. We liked her a lot. I don't think you're going to experience a groundbreaking culinary experience here, but we did enjoy the quality of the classic dishes we ordered. The portion of mac and cheese was so big that I took leftovers and had the second half of it for lunch the next day. The prices seemed fair for the portions we received. I would come back here again for the friendly vibe, solid food, and lack of pretentiousness.

Absolutely amazing!!! some of the best food me and my wife have ever had, and we are foodies. I had the pesto shrimp linguine I'm telling you it is the best shrimp pasta I have ever had in my life!!! don't forget about the bread oh my goodness out of this world! 10 out of 10 and then some. Service was amazing, place ambience fits the lifestyle. Will definitely be back. Sorry I didn't get a pic of the pesto. Did get a pic of this amazing bread pudding, which was also super delicious. Compliments to the chef, amazingly well!

Reuben and French Dip, Caesar salad, truffle fries.... Reuben was the star!

Classic joint. Have had a few things here and everything has been pretty solid. In the past I've enjoyed the French onion soup and the chicken fried chicken. Recently I tried the Reuben and French Dip. The French Dip was aiight, but the Reuben was spectacular! I'm not even necessarily one to order a Reuben. It was delicious! Truffle fries and salad were an upgrade. Fries were super garlicky, which I enjoy. If I could do one thing differently I would have asked for a side of mustard with the Reuben. Yummm!!!

Outstanding, excellent, creative, exceptional are all descriptions of my meals. I love the ambience and service too!! Josh, Nathaniel, And Jason were all helpful for our menu selections, gave us taste of wine to select the best one, and were attentive to every aspect of our dining experience. I can't wait to go back. I'm already dreaming of the zucchini appetizer, the beet salad, the caesar, the filet and seafood platter(lobster too), the scampi and linguine and the best prepared steelhead with vegie ragu. Amazing!! Amazing!! I never mind spending for dinner when it's first class all the way!! Thank you Brickhouse. See you in September.

The food was decent but not as good as the price point reflects. I ordered the steak pasta which had good cuts of meat but was overall underwhelming. If you're going to spend $35 at a minimum, the food should blow you away. The ambiance is my main complaint and I honestly have no idea how to fix this but I could not hear my partner from across the table. The restaurant was so loud that we spent most of our meal either not talking, or asking what the other had said after trying to talk. Brickhouse I really want to like eating in your restaurant, but I just cannot see a reason to dine there when there are 5 other restaurants that have similar pricing for a significantly better overall experience.

Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We had the Steak Tartare, the Chef's Board, the Blackend Crabcake, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Bone-in Pork Chop. We each got the cheesecake for desert and split the other dishes. This was more than enough for the three of us and we left full, happy, and with three large to-go boxes. The flavors of the various dishes were amazing. While all the dishes were vvery good, the standouts to me were the steak Tartare, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Cheesecake.

It was incredibly dry without any sauce, served with roasted potatoes (instead of mashed as advertised), and came with a little salad... there was no dressing on the salad, so it was really of no added value on the plate. I really wanted to like this place, but even the service is just a little "off" from my expectations. I sat for over 10 minutes with no contact from a server. No water. And the place had no air conditioning on a day that was 80 degrees. I don't think I'll give this place a third try, but I hope they can fix the problems. I like their concept and location.

One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. It was kinda late as we were at an evening conference event, and after a short wait, we were seated! Crowded and late is usually a good sign. We ordered some great cocktails to start and a Cajun BBQ Shrimp Appetizer. The cocktails were great and unique, but the BBQ Shrimp was amazing. It's not like being in New Orleans, but it's pretty close! And you better believe that plate went back to the kitchen spotless!!! That BBQ sauce was bomb, which means good apparently. For some reason, we switched out waitresses halfway through, which made tipping awkward. However, each was funny and friendly in different ways. That's always a plus when you've been on the road for 10 days or so and are feeling the wear and tear on travel and bougie food. For Entree's, he ordered a salad which looked amazing, and I ordered the blackened redfish and swapped the sides for fries and carrots. The fries were absolutely amazing, as was the redfish. So good... I wish the carrots were mushier (more mushy?). That's a personal preference. Waitress #2 highly recommended the carrot cake and assured us she wouldn't pass judgment on two dudes sharing dessert. I'm glad she did as it was one of the lightest and best carrot cakes I've ever had. And the carrots WERE mushy here. Then she had the entire kitchen staff come out and laugh at us for sharing (ok, she didn't, but that would have been classic). I enjoyed my time in Bend and this place would be on my list for a repeat visit if I'm ever here again. Loved it!
