    reggie deluxe

I remember enjoying Pine State Biscuits on my first trip to Portland so I asked my friends to go here for my most recent trip. We were all worried the food would be too heavy so we went in with low expectations, and we were all pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too heavy at all! Got the Reggie Deluxe and also tried my friend's hash browns that were the perfect texture and seasoned perfectly. The Reggie Deluxe was delicious. I wish I got extra gravy, I ran out right at the end but overall the ratio was decent. You order first then sit. No seats available inside on the cold fall Sunday we went so we huddled outside in the heater, but the staff helped us put together a table inside and grabbed us once the table was ready. Thanks team!

Pine State is an awesome breakfast (or lunch) spot)! We swung in around 11:00am and there was plenty of seating. The team member at the register was super friendly and helpful. We ordered and I got a cup for coffee. There were two coffee choices, I went with one that had a hint of chocolate flavor. It was perfect. Our food hit the table way faster than expected. The Reggie Deluxe was way bigger than I was expecting. The biscuit was nice and dense, perfect for a sandwich. The piece of chicken was massive and the egg was cooked beautifully. The flavors were balanced well! The beignets were next level. They were firmer than I've had before, which worked perfectly in the caramel sauce. I'm pretty sure the awesome flavor triggered some core memories of pull apart biscuits I had as a kid. Great food, great service!

The food was phenomenal! My daughter loved her biscuit. She got to build her own ham and cheese and with a picky eater I was nervous at first. However the first bite made it clear that this was going to be a good experience. I got the Chatfield with the apple butter on the side and devoured it. My daughter also enjoyed my biscuit. Did they got the fried mac and cheese which was delicious. Then I can cheese was flavorful and stayed crispy throughout our meal. We also got the caramel bourbon roll which was incredibly sweet but worth it. So warm and gooey. The service was also a plus! Everyone was really nice and the atmosphere felt very warm and inviting. We're from out of town but I would 100% come back to experience this brunch again.

5/5! Fresh biscuits for sandwiches. For veggie reggie I was skeptical about veggie sausage and veggie bacon but it was quite tasty. Mushroom gravy was bomb; it gave me a thanksgiving feel. Hash up with eggs was my favorite! Would definitely order this again. Hash browns were crispy. Veggies flavorful. Egg cooked perfectly (over hard). Ketchup on it was a game changer. Blueberry cornmeal pancake was nice and sweet to finish off my meal. Appreciate the real maple syrup. Fried green tomatoes paired very nicely with the cheese dipping sauce.

The worker was great! She was very friendly. 3 stars for the food. We ordered the Reggie Deluxe to share as our little breakfast snackie. A fried chicken with shitake mushroom gravy and a fried egg on top. The biscuit and fried chicken was dry inside. We were disappointed. The gravy tasted good and made it a lot better for the driness but meh. The portion os big, so we were glad we shared one. The space for dining was enjoyable.

I love biscuits & gravy so this spot was amazing! True comfort food. It was so good we came back twice during our trip to Portland! My favorite dish is definitely the biscuits & gravy, you can choose between sausage or mushroom gravy. Both were delicious & creamy. I will definitely be back when I'm in Portland!

Pine State is a great place for breakfast. The biscuit was light and fluffy, the chicken was fried nicely and the meat gravy had a great flavor. The staff was very friendly and fast working.

This place was amazing! Again, a line lol. I split a reggie deluxe. Amazing. Reminded me of high school so they win the nostalgia points. I also got an iced latte which was very tasty too. A really good spot and well worth trying.

A solid spot for a day when I want to do nothing more than clog my arteries and love every minute of it. Of course, we couldn't start our morning in a food coma, so the 5 of us shared two dishes: THE REGGIE (Fried chicken, bacon, and Tillamook cheddar. Topped with choice of gravy): Dry fried chicken. Yummy, hearty sausage gravy. BRISKET BISCUIT (Smoked brisket topped with caramelized onions): Tender & juicy meat! & the biscuits? Fluffy inside, crispy outside. Not quite flakey or buttery, but definitely comforting in the chilly weather. It's mostly self-service: Find a seat. Fetch your own water/coffee, utensils, ketchup or hot sauce. And finally clean up after yourselves. Wish I tried their mushroom gravy!

Pine State Biscuits is probably the most iconic Portland institution. I don't always stop by when I visit Portland, but when I do, it's always such a nice treat. I always order an old favorite and try a lil something new. I love the Moneyball Double Down ($14) with a side of bacon ($6.00). It's a biscuit and gravy topped with 2 over easy eggs. It's simple, but you can really taste the buttery biscuit without being weighed down by other things. The biscuit is smothered in a creamy, decadent sausage gravy and topped with the perfect over easy egg (s). It's a solid choice if you don't want to commit to a sandwich. On this visit, I also tried the Wedgie ($14) which is a really fun take on a wedge salad except in sandwich form. The Wedgie has a generous piece of juicy fried chicken, a fried green tomato, and organic iceberg wedge topped with your choice of blue cheese or ranch sandwiched between a biscuit. Ngl, you're gonna have to knife and fork this bad boy, but it's well worth the extra effort. The iceberg wedge added a nice refreshing snap to each bite and with the dressing helped cut all the fried stuff. Unexpectedly so good. PSA: Don't sleep on their baked goods. It's never not s good idea to visit Pine State.

Came in for a quick bite not knowing what I wanted. Super happy I did. Blueberry cornmeal pancakes! Yeah please. They were great, had a good lil chew to em and were amazing. Chill spot to grab a blast bite. The gal helping me was super nice too.

If you're looking for a hearty biscuit sandwich that you're guaranteed to use a fork and knife for, Pine State's menu is filled with delicious sweet or savory biscuit sandwich options you can choose from. Despite being a local chain, all biscuits, pies, and pastries are baked in-house, ensuring you're getting the freshest, flakiest biscuit possible. I love a sweet and savory combo so I ordered the McIsley--fried chicken with pickles, mustard and Oregon wildflower honey stacked between a homemade biscuit. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, and the tangy pickles and mustard complimented everything so well! And the honey always adds the perfect touch of sweetness. Pair your biscuit with a cold glass of OJ, and I'd say you've got the perfect breakfast! : The McIsley

I came here one morning for brunch and it was a very heavy but delicious meal. Located on 23rd, there are lots of other shops you can check out before or after your meal and the area is very lively. The place is ordering-at-the-counter and they will bring the food out to you. Water is self-serve. Service is fairly quick and nice. When I went, I got their Hash Ups and their Shrimp and Grits. Both were huge portions, super flavorful, and very VERY filling. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for a big Southern breakfast.

Come early because they do run out of pastries. Everything I've ordered has tasted great. The croissants are especially good. Very flavorful and buttery. Lots of unique flavors too, and in the macarons as well. The space itself is small with almost no seating and it's too crammed to form an appropriate line. You have to balance on small steps at some point. Not ideal. I would normally give this bakery 4-5 stars, but I think they deserve only two stars for my personal experiences. The staff has never been all that friendly, and on my last visit (and last for a while or ever) one woman was so rude to me I was so shocked I just stood there with my jaw hanging open until I finally regained my wits and just stepped away. I don't even know what caused her attitude, I had ordered and paid, but she didn't like how I was waiting for my bag of food, I guess. I don't know. But I won't be going back anytime soon even if I lived in Portland. Bummer because it's very tasty.

There's a sandwich/soup station, a pizza station, a hot foods station (for burgers & specialties), a cold deli station for cold salads/sides, and a bar/barista inside for adult beverages or coffee. Additionally, there's an area to purchase bottled wine and jams/jellies. Grab whatever items you order and pay at the register. FIRST TIME - BEST PDX PIZZA!…read more I saw a guy loading up huge tubs of fresh organic lettuce from Sunrise Farms at the Wednesday farmers market in Shemanski Park, South Park Blocks, near Arlene Schnitzer theatre. I guessed he must be a chef buying for his restaurant. Yup - Darby is one of two chef/owners of Pizza Thief on NW 26th ST and NW Vaughn ST, Alphabet District. We chatted briefly. I was delighted to hear he buys mostly "ALL" organic and local NW for his pizza place. Gotta go! Two days later my wife and I showed up for lunch. We ordered the market salad loaded with farm fresh organic veggies and the Sunrise oak leaf lettuce. The salad presentation was so colorful (carrots, radishes, green beans, snap peas, pickled asparagus, chives, sheep mile feta) looking like a Claude Monet painting. Big hearty salad tossed in a big bowl. Ya, edible art! So delish with scratch made green goddess dressing. Order a whole pizza or by the slice - which we did. Wife went for a "Vegan Special" slice with tomato sauce, roasted mushrooms, piquillo peppers, kale, mustard greens, Calabrian chili-garlic oil, and Sicilian oregano. I had "Hot Tony" with tomato sauce, pepperoni, schiacciata salami,  calabrian-chili, piquillo peppers, jalapeño mozz-provolone, fior di latte, grana, and sicilian oregano. The pizza looked like abstract art too and was delish. Perfect dough, cooked completely through and not soggy, crispy crunchy crust and slice loaded up with farm fresh ingredients. Sourdough fermented pie is also local and organic NW Camas Mill (what the top pizza places in Portland use) with whole grains. We've been to James Beard award winning or nominated PDX pizza places like Ken's, Lovely Fifty Fifty, Nostrana and Mozza (LA) - throw in other good PDX pizza like Oven & Shaker, Mount Hood brewing and APizza Scholls too - Pizza Thief is in this best pizza in Portland conversation but - but - but - the local NW farm fresh ingredient moved my pizza needle - Pizza Thief to the top of my "OH MY" list. Oh my - I love this pizza! I love supporting local farms, especially organic or pesticide free farmers, who are growing product good for my health - good for the soil - good for the environment. Then, I love those restaurants like Pizza Thief that buy from Oregon NW farmers! Winner! Winner! Winner! Farmer! Pizza shop! Yelpin Foodie! All winners! Pizza Thief serves it up for a Yelpin foodie.
