Owned and operated by Michael Pinckney himself - one of the best parts of visiting this shop!

In the labyrinth of Kirkland's strip malls, nestled between a burger joint and a sandwich shop, lies a cookie haven that could make even the most stoic Seattleite crack a smile. The aroma of freshly baked indulgence wafts through the air, luring unsuspecting passersby into its cozy embrace. The menu boasts a lineup of confections that read like a hipster's dream: brown butter brown sugar bourbon spice, Bing Bling with cherry pieces, and the so-called "Miracle Cookies"--vegan, gluten-free wonders that defy the laws of dessert physics. Each bite is a revelation, a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate, making one ponder why we ever settled for subpar sweets. In a city obsessed with artisanal everything, this spot stands out as a beacon for those seeking sugary salvation. The owner was who served me and his smile and conversation elevated my cookie shopping experience! I'll be back very soon to try the local teas, chocolate, and coffees on top of his delicious cookies and waffles!

I am apparently on a cookie phase where I see a place selling them I want to try :) I heard a lot about this company over a few foodie group so was pleasantly surprised to see them at the UW farmers market. Looks like the guy that is there is the founder and he seem to be pretty busy. Busy enough to not be able to restock the cookies. We managed to get 4 cookies: apple pie, dark chocolate oatmeal, classic chocolate chip and the double chocolate espresso. The cookies flavors are ok in my opinion because I'm not a fan of soft cookies. So if you are a softie fan, these are a must. I do like the dark chocolate oatmeal and apple pie cookies a lot though because the complex texture. Oh and they had a deal where if you buy 4, you get 2 of their brown sugar bourbon cookie, and they were decent. Overall, I can see myself ordering the oatmeal and apple pie cookies again here And the price is so much more reasonable than a lot of places

I discovered Pinckney Cookie Cafe through Yelp's recommendation for Black-Owned Businesses that deliver. Who wouldn't be curious about a 5-star Cookie Cafe that also offered plant-based/vegan and gluten-free options? I placed my online order on Monday and received the cookies Friday, nicely packaged in an adorable giftbox and carefully nestled into a larger corrugated box for shipping. Everything arrived quickly and in perfect shape for eating! I ordered a custom box, one of each variety of the "Miracle Cookie" line, which are all vegan and gluten-free. 1. Original 2. Chocolate Oatmeal 3. Bing Bling 4. Classic Chocolate Chip 5. Double Chocolate Espresso 6. Apple Pie Some of the cookies had a moist, almost cake-like texture, chewy and super tasty! The others were simply chewy and ultra soft-baked and too easy to eat!! Their style of cookies are a smidge on the sweet side for my taste (but most cookies are when I'm not the one doing the baking). Part of the wonderful texture of these cookies is attributed to their 10-ingredient flour blend called Miracle Flour. Vegan cookies aren't too tough to make, but. BUT. moist, gluten free cookies (vegan or not) are not-so-easy to accomplish without the cookies getting crumbly or having a grainy texture due to the alternative flours. Pinckney's Miracle Flour lives up to the name. Also, there is something to be said when a bakery decides to make Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie as opposed to Oatmeal Raisin. Who wants raisins??? That's like getting a box of raisins trick or treating!! Just. No. Chocolate Oatmeal was what told me I could trust this bakery (haha) I thoroughly enjoyed each one of the cookies ordered. My favorite was the Classic Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Espresso. As for the Apple Pie, I personally would have preferred a ton more spice but the cookie was still fabulous. It reminded me of a sweeter version of a Clif Bar. I would definitely order again now that I know which cookies I really love. Treat yourself to a cookie combo box!! No excuses, they ship nationwide!

Although the feeling sitting in is spacious, there is a good amount of ambient noise, likely bouncing off of the cement structure/framing of the building. There are floor to ceiling windows spanning the length of the place, as well as on the sides, adding to the amount of light and airy feel inside. The matcha - I was pleased to taste that they used very good quality matcha powder. The drink was smooth, creamy, and a little sweet from the vanilla syrup. The seafood tartine- I was a little disappointed to see the seafood to toast ratio. I wish they gave twice as much of the seafood mixture. That said, they did give ample toast. It was more than double the width of a normal slice. The texture of the bread was also soft. It was moist and dry at the same time - hard to describe. You could tell they didn't skimp on the butter. It reminded me a little of corn bread, but didn't taste like cornbread at all. There was a hint of sweetness as well. Honestly you could have the toast plain and it was very nice. The staff was very friendly and efficient. My food and drink came out quickly each time. They also move through customers in line pretty quickly. I would absolutely come back to work here again, or just for a cheeky coffee and pastry. Maybe next time with headphones. :) Parking - I just parked at the library and walked the couple blocks over. Additional: they have baby changing station in the lady's restroom.

The cafe gets really busy in the morning, and indoor seating fills up quickly. There is outdoor seating with some heaters, though with how cold the weathers been lately, I prefer getting my bakery to go. I love the crème brûlée cruffin, and the lavender honey scone (also one of my first orders from here) is awesome! It's not surprising that the cruffin is one of their best sellers since it's pretty big and well worth the money. I also appreciate that they include tags for gluten free and vegan options, it'd be cool to see more food using both categories. During my most recent visit, I bought an almond berry cake (the only one that's vegan and gluten free), and I really appreciated the server asking me if I'd like the cake to be packed separately from my other orders. I've bought these pastries to share with friends and family, who've equally enjoyed the treats! Overall, farine is now one of my staple bakery spots in the Eastside!
