Over the past couple of weeks I have been going to Pilates Tempe for the Pilates class and I have to say I really enjoy the classes. Pilates Tempe doesn't only offer Pilates but other weight lifting classes, trx and much more. The classes get booked very quickly, so sometimes I put myself on the waitlist in case a spot opens. I have mainly attended Sean's and Brad's classes and it's always a treat. TRX classes can really make you regret your decision to exercise! I came here maybe 2 months ago through ClassPass. I started using ClassPass because I'm new to Pilates and I wanted to find a studio and this was the first location I picked to try out. I'm not sure who the lady was but it was a 5am class and I was there with my friend. She asked us if this was our first class and I told her yes. She was extremely frustrated that this was our first class and said we need to read the details of the class. I apologized to her that we didn't but she kept scolding us and kept saying how it always happens and if we had just read the details we wouldn't be here right now and how she hates when people don't read the details...... um? Okay? I apologized to you and you're saying it happens quite frequently so maybe change the way you're sharing that piece of information? Or have a solution for those clients (like offering an intro class... which she didn't do till I asked her). Nonetheless, she indirectly was telling us to leave by saying she's going to HAVE to take time to show us and she's not going to focus on other people and we're going to set the class back... I again apologize to her and asked about intro classes and asked to have the class for that morning cancelled. I didn't end up going to the free intro class because with that being my first impression of the studio there's really no reason to ever return. I would also like to add how I mentioned we've done heated mat and she told us that it's a fake work out and she doesn't know why people think it's real Pilates. Which okay, maybe true but your aggression is not needed when we've told you we're new. You can educate without being arrogant. Overall terrible experience. I'm sure the location has some other great instructors but unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to get past the front desk. read more

The class was super informative and very fun. Well as fun as a workout can be. It's a shame that it costs almost $600 for 2-3 months. That's more than a car payment. We were quoted $300 something as a special. My doctor said due to a Chronic condition I can't work out like normal people can I have to have something low impact and suggested either yoga or Pilates. I'm sad that it costs an arm and a leg to try and be healthy. It's even more than a regular gym. But because I do see the worth in it for me I have decided to try and save up for it. read more

Pilates Tempe was wonderful! My friend goes and recommended that I try it out when I told her that I was really interested in Reformer Pilates! I'm so happy I went!! I did a private one on one lesson first and it felt like a real lesson! (Unlike some of the more commercial Pilates businesses who have "intro classes" where you touch the machine for 10 minutes ). I loved how easy going they were and that they didn't pressure me to buy certain packages/a certain amount of classes. The entrance can be a little tricky since it is inside the breezeway of the complex, but it makes it easy to get to, no matter what side of the building you end up parking on. The studio was very welcoming and everyone there was very kind. It being my first time, I was able to wander around the studio and see what they had to offer. I took a mat pilates class and the instructor was so nice and offered lots of modifications. I would definitely be back to take some other classes here. read more

Beware of the no show fee. Booked the class on 8/21 and I came to the class on time. On 09/4, they charged me $10 for no show fee??? I understand everyone can make mistakes, but at least they should confirm to me first to make sure that I didn't come to the class. I've been doing Pilates for over a decade and Pilates Tempe is my favorite studio in the Valley, by far. The instructors are all highly skilled and very friendly. I love taking classes with the owner, Kris, because she tailors her classes to target the muscle groups that participants want to work on. I have seen dramatic improvement in my shape over the past 2 months, and it's all due to my workouts at Pilates Tempe. If you are new to Pilates, I highly recommend doing the "Fun"damentals package. You will gain a great foundation in just a couple of weeks, and you will be hooked! Also, Pilates Tempe has the best price on reformer classes of any studio in the area. I have been attending this studio for almost a year. I love attending the classes. The instructors are awesome and are very knowledgable. I like how each instructor really wants you to succeed when working out and leave each session feeling great. Pilates Tempe offers group classes and private sessions. I do both and love it. Being able to have that option is wonderful. Brad is a wonderful instructor/teacher. I enjoy learning from him and I appreciate that he takes the time to answer my silly questions. He is so patient. This month I joined and now I've done 4 reformer classes and I Love It! I'm over 50 with two bad knees and it's low impact on my knees but totally tones me. The studio is beautiful, clean, very peaceful. The teachers are very focused on each student having good form and execution of the moves. They have been great at teaching this new student how to get into each move. Tons of class times. I take the 12:15 weekday, do a quick change and head back to the office. I have thought about trying it for years, so glad I finally did! I'll be a regular here!! read more

I've been practicing Pilates regularly for four years in two different states. When I find a studio I'm impressed with, I'm very loyal. It's all about the instructors, their education of the body and the energy they bring. I've been quite pleased with Ashly and Kimra here and I recommend their classes. They are authentic, warm and go above and are proficient in giving personal attention to your form and making adjustments when needed. They don't offer a cookie cutter approach, knowing everyone's body is different. Also gives adequate time after a move to stretch the muscles you just worked. I do however wish they would begin offering classes on the Chair machine. They have the equipment, but no Chair class yet. I'm patiently waiting and looking forward to it. If you haven't tried Chair, its an amazing full body workout when done right. I've never seen results so amazing. read more

You know that relaxed, refreshed feeling you have when you just had a really good massage? That's how I feel when I finish a class at Pilates Tempe, only I've actually worked out! I live in South Gilbert and drive 25-30 minutes to Pilates Tempe, passing up a number of other pilates studios on the way, I'm that hooked. Class size is limited to SIX clients, allowing the instructor to focus on each individual in the class to ensure proper form to prevent injury and encourage a specific muscle movement. Every one of their instructors is expert at providing a dynamic, challenging, safe workout, even on those days when my muscles are less cooperative. Many of the clients are dealing with previous injuries or physical limitations and these instructors skillfully offer modifications or alternative movements that honor their needs. I'm in my 50's and my fitness level when I started here was truly nonexistent. I was terrified of injury or being pushed to overdo it, but I had nothing to fear. I feel and see lean muscle tone all over my body that I have never before experienced, even while I was enduring rigorous weight lifting classes and hours of cardio per week when I was younger. I actually get excited instead of apprehensive when it's time to head to the studio! Their class schedule is truly unbeatable, offering convenient times throughout the day and evening that can accommodate even my craziest weeks. This place is great - I had found this Pilates Tempe through some internet searching and decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews I saw on yelp. I love that they offer a free intro session so you can see for yourself that it really is an awesome studio. The instructors are great - they're all positive and encouraging while providing support to improve my form and become better at Pilates. The structure of the classes is also great - there are only 6 people max in each class - which to me is the perfect combination of individualized attention without feeling like someone is watching you so intensely. I also really appreciate that they won't cancel a class because of low enrollment. I previously took classes at a different studio and if enough other people canceled I would get a text message a few hours before class saying no class that day. That DOESN'T happen here and it's wonderful. On the subject of scheduling, you can sign up online or using their app- both are super convenient. I also appreciate that I can set up a recurring schedule so I can attend the same class(es) each week. I would highly recommend this place! read more

After injuring my back, I was looking for a workout that would help build and tone muscles, and one that would not be too stressful/harmful for my back. I found a Groupon for five Pilates sessions at Pilates Tempe, and all I can say is, "Wow!" After completing the 5-session FUNdamentals program, I signed up for additional classes. In just six sessions (including the FUNdamentals classes) I both see AND feel a difference in my body. An added bonus is that my back pain has substantially decreased and my core is becoming stronger. With a wide variety of classes offered seven days a week (they have classes available for just about anyone's schedule) taught by qualified, friendly instructors, Pilates Tempe has become my happy place and I actually look forward to working out! My free introductory session of 1 hour with Kris was very good and she explained all the moves and how they affect my body in a very detailed way. I have taken classes for a month on reformers with Erin and Sean and both are very good instructors and keep an eye on all the members in the class. The best thing is, there are only 6 members in 1 session of an hour, which helps everyone to get all the attention needed. I am renewing my package for next set of classes today and totally love the flexibility my body is gaining with pilates along with improving my muscles, core strength and toning my body. Bought a Groupon for 5 FUNdamentals classes. After two months of trying to sign up for classes, Pilates Tempe keeps cancelling the only class I can attend, and now wants me to spend more money to upgrade the package to unlimited classes. I would not recommend this establishment as they are a bait and switch when trying to use a Groupon they offer as a regular promotion. At this point, I am disputing the charge on my credit card, as my open case with Groupon states the merchant has 3 days to contact me to resolve and they have not called me to resolve.
