I was introduced to Inner Vision from a generous Groupon offer for unlimited classes within 10 days. I've only done one hot yoga class so far, but it was very well done. The instructor had a lot of energy and was very attentive making sure everyone was working through the poses properly, and identifying modifications to balance the difficulty from beginner to experienced level. The heat/humidity definitely added an extra challenge but it was nice. I definitely want to continue my practice if I can squeeze in the time to go consistently. read more

My first time trying Inner Vision Yoga and I enjoyed it. I took advantage of an introductory deal I found on Groupon so I went to all their 3 locations and must say I was impressed at how nice and clean all their studios are. I felt some of the classes were either too slow or not challenging enough for me but I guess it's just a matter of finding the right class/instructor for you and your needs. Jeff and Dusty Snow are extremely experienced and professional, loved how they take the time to adjust you into poses to make sure you're doing it correctly, I really enjoyed their classes! read more

I bought their 2 week trial, but the first class was so bad I couldn't make myself return. The teacher talked incessantly, even during relaxation. We did about 5 poses in an hour. I realized as I was leaving that the class had been taped without my knowledge or permission. Ugh. read more

Tempe Inner Vision has moved to the new location, and it is beautiful! I have been a Yoga practitioner at Inner Vision for 8 years, and I am happy that they are thriving. Woohoo! As good as it gets for sure baby! LOVE THIS PLACE! I love the Chandler location as well but this one ... this is the winner for me. All locations are within 20 minutes from my job but the Tempe location is a quick 11 minute drive ... perfect! What I thoroughly enjoy about this location is it's easily accessible. Parking has never been an issue for me here, even if I come for a 4:30 or 5:00 class. I can still get a good parking spot. What I love most about this place is although it's located in a shopping center, you don't get the shopping center, rush hour noise that you may get at the Chandler location. The studio is kinda tucked away behind the center (behind a daycare to be exact). It's totally shielded from the noise. I love that! The instructors are great ... especially Amanda :) read more

Inner Vision is an amazing studio. I've done the Radiant classes mostly, which is the Hot Vinyasa classes. They're VERY challenging, but you can easily take a break. The Radiant classes are better for people with a little yoga experience , but they have other classes for beginners. I feel like some yoga studios focus on appearance over substance. This is NOT one of those studios, although I definitely notice myself becoming slimmer. I've had many spiritual awakenings in my month of coming here. Every teacher is different, and has offered me wonderful corrections. They really hire amazing teachers here who know their stuff. read more

Bought a Groupon for 30 days unlimited yoga and went 3 days in row so far. As a rookie to Yoga and didn't know exactly what I was getting into but thanks goodness, all of the instructors for classes I took so far were great. The front desk staff at both Tempe and Chandler location were super sweet and explained everything you needed to know around the studio. All the props are provided in class so all you need is your yoga mat. A lavender eye pillow was provided at one of the Yin class I took - love it! Thank you for a such wonderful experience. I like both locations. Tempe is super convenient, and the Chandler studio offers lake views from the large (windowed) classroom. I prefer level 1-2, level 2, and flow classes, averaging about 3 classes a week, to get my money's worth of the monthly auto-pay for $119. Having practiced at Inner Vision for about two years, my physical and mental wellbeing has drastically improved! I now can do many difficult postures, including inversions and tricky arm balances. I would go more often if they offered intermediate-level classes more frequently in the evenings and weekends with my preferred instructors (some level 1-2 instructors are too easy, and I dislike one popular instructor). I definitely have a short list of favorites, but everyone is at a different level, and they do their best to cater to all. Overall, I highly recommend. read more

I really have enjoyed my regular Prenatal Yoga classes here. I get 3 class options per week and I try to make them all when my Sat doesn't keep me from missing that class option. I've only taken Prenatal Yoga here so I can't comment on other classes or instructors but the 2 gals that teach these classes (Sally and Nikki) are great - they both have different styles of teaching but both have a lot of experience with birthing, home births, natural birth, yoga, etc - I appreciate both instructors for the differences they have and offer. My ONLY complaint for this Tempe location (has nothing to do with the instructors) is that they can oftentimes PACK pregger ladies in to the smallest yoga room (It is very frustrating to be so cramped in there) and then even when it's full, they STILL try to fit one more girl in there. It has nothing to do with people coming late, it has to do with the class room being too small for the amount of women that are attending. The past few times, we had 14 or was it 15? girls in there - WAY too many. At that point, you can't even stagger mats or do poses correctly. I really wish they would plan this out better. Other than that little issue - I LOVE the class, the instructors, and I enjoy getting to know the other pregnant ladies and sharing this great life event... the staff is always friendly and nice and I like that they are very earthy in the facility... like walking the walk, not just talking the talk. Anyway, if you're pregnant - you NEED to take these classes... we'll see how my delivery goes, but I'm confident I have learned some valuable tools and stretches/positions for what I want to experience during my natural birth. read more

I've only been a member a few weeks, but I very much appreciate the expertise and depth of knowledge shown by every teacher with whom I've practiced. I'm located in Seattle, so obviously doing online only. Even though I've been practicing yoga for ten years, I'm feeling it in my body in a way I haven't experienced in a while. It doesn't matter that I'm not there in person because these folks really know what they're doing. The teaching is bypassing my autopilot and reaching the body in a way that's having me move differently than I usually do, and it feels great. Plus Jeff makes me laugh every class. I love Inner Vision Yoga. Both the Chandler and Tempe locations are amazing. I live in Gilbert, so I do not go to the location in Ahwatukee. The instructors are wonderful. I attend the classes presented by Patricia and Josh and always love them. I am sure that the other instructors are equally good, but these classes fit my schedule. The studios are very clean and the staff are friendly. Not to be missed is the studio in Chandler on the lake, but the Tempe studio is located in a very nice center with Trader Joes and Changing Hands Book Store. It is a bit tricky to find, but it is in the same complex with these businesses on the south side, behind the back. Allow some extra time to find it the first time you go there. Visited Inner Vision because of a groupon purchase. They have a huge variety of classes, but I found that only the hot yoga was a challenging enough workout for me. Gabe, Aaron and Josh were my favorite instructors. The studio is really clean- which having visited many studios, is a wonderful thing that is hard to find! I've moved on to a bikram hot yoga studio so that there are more hot yoga time options for me. But this is a wonderful studio for someone who lives closer to there and likes more variety in their yoga practice. read more

In response to owners response: Spirit of yoga has way more and is 70$ unlimited. YOU WANTED $139! Why lie? I'm letting people know the cheapest in town. Many classes. Plus, a single class is 18$ here. What? I was on your app Sunday to check. Your florescant lighting is distracting, and the chanting classes next door were so loud I couldn't hear my teacher. Plus, you did NOT offer me 109$ for unlimited, it was a lot more in the email, I felt bamboozled after my Groupon ended. Classes seemed geared towards hot yoga and older people. The classes had to be stopped to help them adjust and I couldn't advance. There's only 2 or 3 rooms, not sure what you are on about there. Plus who cares if u have many classes across 3 locations? Who wants to travel to 3 different towns twice a day? I do 2-3 a day. This place isn't bad, I'm just saying it was my least fave out of the 6 groupons I tried. Nothing stuck out, and they wanted I eventually settled on laughing Buddha, with some classes at SOY for the beautiful pond view and Duanes phenomenal class. read more

I have been going to IV for a little over a year now after being gifted many classes from my boyfriend. After a few years of having an inconsistent home yoga practice, stepping into this studio felt right from the beginning. Patricia, my very favorite teacher, leads classes with grace and warmth. I have also experienced Jeff's class which I enjoyed. Whether I am doing a 1-2 flow or yin, I always leave very happy. I've also been to other IV locations such as the one in Ahwatukee, where you are met with the same excellence in instructors and business practice. Donna is a very knowledgeable and kind hearted woman, and I love her detailed instruction to fix my asana. Class packages are reasonable in price for the quality you receive. One room in the chandler location faces a man made lake which is gorgeous. Classes are sometimes a little full, so get there with ample time to snag your spot. If you're a newbie, or even an advanced yogi, you want to come here. read more

Love this studio (I'm including the Chandler studio in this review as well). My favorite thing is the variety of classes and the abundance of class times also. I have a very full and busy schedule and I can also usually find a class that fits into my schedule between work and school and everything else almost every day. There are I'd say, at least 20 different class types (styles of yoga) that you can choose, but my favorites are the "Inner Vision HOT Flow," the Level 1-2, and the Power classes. Definitely sign up for a new student special... unlimited classes for two weeks for $29 dollars. That way you can see what classes you like, see what teachers you like, and see how often you'll be going... that way when you do sign up for class packages, you can see which one would be financially best for you. Both locations are great though. I love the lakefront view room at the Chandler studio, and the reception area of the Tempe one is really nice, inviting, and relaxing. I go to both about equally depending on which teachers and classes I want to take. Also, the website is super helpful. You can purchase classes that way and see which teachers are teaching at which times... teacher bios and great yoga info and faqs in general. read more

As a yoga practitioner for many years, I like to keep up my practice when traveling.. Inner Vision Yoga in Tempe and Chandler ( it's one organization with two studios and you can attend classes at both locations interchangeably) fit my needs to a tee! It's an aesthetically calming facility, with bathroom and even shower. But what really matters is the instruction. I took a variety of classes in both locations ( I found the lake location in Chandler more personally pleasing) and enjoyed them all. The classes are exactly what they say they are on the site. Level 1 is truly level 1, with a focus on the breath and the foundations ( shout out to Josh Rothman). A mixed level class (yoga for Lunch) gives students the option to remain in a basic pose or layer on more challenges, with no performance pressure and gentle reminders to do what is right for your body in this moment. Students felt as comfortable simply being in balasana ( child's pose) as did those aiming for the more challenging version like Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. Studio owner Jeff Martens is an incredible teacher, gently adjusting poses for better alignment while speaking softly to remind everyone of the proper positioning and to tell inspiring spiritual stories and lessons. I loved his parable with the lesson (my paraphrase): "We are all each of us, always right. You are always right. But are you the right that you want to be?" I'm adding to my review of the Chandler studio because I found another great instructor today in Tempe--Michelle Dante, whose soothing voice and slow motion made the Yin Yang Class and the Visualization class truly renewing and restorative. The studio offers great deals for first timers (currently unlimited one month pass for $39!) so go and try it out. Try different styles and teachers and locations, and I bet you'll be hooked before the month is over (FYI, they offer the popular hot and Vinyasa yoga styles too. A little something for everyone!) The unlimited one week visitor pass for $50 was worth every penny; I took 7 classes, learned new tricks and heard some great spiritual teaching. I return to my regular practice renewed, refresher, and reinvigorated. Trying new things changes the way everything looks. read more

I practiced at this studio for 6 months (Tempe location) and pretty much always did their InnerVision hot flow classes. The class time worked into my schedule and I wanted a challenging practice. I normally went to classes lead by Aaron, one of the owners. He teaches in a clear, concise manner and he is not really a hands on instructor, as some are. I did notice that he rarely ever smiles, which does change the atmosphere of the room. The InnerVision flow class itself is definitely a challenge and well worth the try. Over time though, I did wish the class had some variety, but I guess that's the nature of the set postures. Some of the other instructors will occasionally mix it up (like Gabe or Josh) by allowing you a few minutes to go into shoulder stand or do a pose you want, which I really enjoy. And the studio itself does have a very large variety of classes to try out. Sometimes the studio can get pretty full, especially in the evening classes, so be prepared for that. This means the room will be hotter and that space is limited. One thing that really bothered me is how often people show up late and are allowed in. If everyone is already set up with their mats in a crowded room, getting in the right mindset, calming down, de-stressing, etc - it takes time out of your practice and your mental state to move your stuff and adjust to the person who just came in. It's especially frustrating when the late person sets up and leaves no room for any arm movements and you're basically fumbling on top of one another. I know, I know, I shouldn't let this get to me because it sorts of defeats the purpose of yoga, but a little consideration for your fellow yogis/yoginis would be nice. The instructors never say anything about this, but I'm not sure if they have a policy against doing so. One other thing I noticed that I find sort of strange is the lights in the studio. They use fluorescent lighting with pictures of clouds over the lighting to mask the quality of light. I find these lights stressful because they remind me of the office and/or school. During the cool down stage they turn off the fluorescent lights and turn on warmer spot lighting, which I find much more calming. I wonder if this has to do with the heat the lights emit, but either way, during my yoga practice I prefer mood lighting or natural light because I want to get out of the "real world" and into myself. Bottom line: the classes are good, studio has great variety, but the details and subtleties do make a difference. read more

I bought a groupon for 30 days with Inner Vision. It was my first time ever really doing yoga continuously, and I really enjoyed it. I love how they have a variety of classes (yin, bikram series), and the instructors were really good about correcting postures, encouraging proper breathing techniques, etc. I ended up trying another yoga studio soon after, and have not been as happy :( Made me really appreciate instructors who come around and help students! I'm moving soon, but otherwise I would definitely have come back here! 100% recommend. read more

I did my first yoga class at this location today. I like the variety of classes available. The class was good - not too crowded, clean studio, etc. I will be back, and would recommend the studio to friends. The one negative - I forgot my yoga mat so I asked if they had any loaners. Yep, they do but for $3. Trust me, if you find yourself in this situation at this studio skip the class rather than using one of their yoga mats. It was so gross - it smelled like tires and was too thin to really be of any benefit. I ended up throwing a couple of blankets over it and just practicing on the blankets. read more

I've been going to the Tempe studio for a number of years now and can highly recommend it. They have a variety of different classes, but the hot flow is definitely my favorite. I've tried a number of other studios around the country and I can say the quality of the instructors here is definitely high. They also have had great service. One of my pet peeves at other studios was when you arrive to a class to discover it is canceled. That has never happened. I went to this studio years ago and they built this one after the Chandler build out. I was an early student of this studio and it was at a time when it certainly came off that Innervision wanted to be the top monopoly in the yoga studio environment. Studios were shutting down left and right that had any relationship with Innervision and there was quite a bit of territorial issues for both the first husband/wife team of Jeff and Michele, and then much awkwardness during their divorce and then Jeff and Donna getting married, with up and down studio issues. It simply wasn't a place to get comfortable for long while you are on your journey to get better as a student and grow into a future teacher. I can fully appreciate the very difficult experience I had at this studio now as a teacher with yoga students who come to my classes. I try my best not to do it how my teachers did it here at Innervision because they we not good at communication, very rarely could handle one on one conversation, and turned out to have personalities in person that were much more negative than who they portrayed in class. Jeff was way too mentally involved in his classes and much less hands on, and I know as a teacher and spending years as an apprenticing student, that's really a no-go for students. Students are passive aggressive and non-verbal communicators and you can slice the tension in some of those classes with a knife. It wasn't a place to grow in health at because if you didn't take their teacher training, you ended up not being much for them as a student. The mental classes ended up taking their toll on me and the backscene drama, power struggles, and lack of good communication skills really simply did not mix for this studio. There were certainly integrity issues and I surprisingly found out how non-collaborative they really were unless they were prompted. To me, it encouraged a snotty holier than thou atmosphere, not a place to heal, connect, and thrive. It took me years to unlearn the bad habits this brand of teaching taught even while I was able to extract some good pieces with alignment teaching. To this day, because of my experiences with Innervision, I have chosen to focus on the students, connecting with them, and teaching how they need to be taught. I refuse to let the mental breakdown happen because a teacher spends the whole class talking in stories rather than connecting with students. I find out time and time again, that students want that connection and good teaching of poses, and lifts in confidence. I think I found here that there were more problems in their personal lives where they couldn't bring the best to the table, and you are sort of in the box as a student at Innervision. There is a shelf life for sure. Don't be attached. It wasn't grounded enough to get those true breakthroughs. It was harmful enough to leave a lasting impression even with forgiveness. I would not recommend this studio. Make sure you check it out to make sure it is a safe place to be, not guru run, or mind-control based. Be healthy, and be willing to leave if it is not the right fit. read more
