"Hot Vinyasa Flow" is definitely a very challenging class, while Hot Yoga 60 and 80 feel a little less intense and are more my speed. My only small wish is that the classes were a bit hotter--I know they're already hot, but I love a good sweat! I am not certain if this is common practice in yoga since you are not sweating in this specific class but I would recommend you bring your own blanket or yoga towel because I noticed after the blankets were used in class we put them back in the same place we got them from. Years ago, I used to do very intense workouts similar to Crossfit. I LOVED it and thought I would…read morenever do anything else again. Every once in awhile, I would injure my shoulder, or tweak my back or something that would put me out of commission for a few weeks. No big deal until the back injuries started getting worse each time and the treatments stopped working. I had back surgery in May of 2017 due to herniated discs. I have treated the pain multiple ways, from chiropractors, massage, trigger point injections...you name it, I've tried it. It wasn't until I decided to make yoga a part of my daily life, that I saw the change that I have always been looking for. On New Year's 2018, I decided to start a 30 day challenge to see how my back would respond. I didn't stop there. Officially, I clocked more than 300 hours in 2018 at this amazing place. My life is FOREVER changed. 2018 was the first year in 5 years that I haven't spent at least 2-4 weeks bedridden, and have not used my cane even ONCE! Yoga in itself has been life changing, but this place is the reason I keep going. I've tried yoga at numerous locations, and have yet to find teachers and other students with as much love and care for each other as Sumits Chandler. We push each other, learn from one another, celebrate accomplishments, and coach areas for improvement. The support has been incredible. There have been a few times where something isn't working correctly, like the sound or humidity. I have found myself questioning if I could do the same workout while missing these key elements. The attitude of the instructors got me through each and every time. They are so willing to keep a positive attitude and work through different challenges, it inspires you to keep going. Jenny and Heather are friendly and kind...they really make you feel at home by remembering me by name. I had taken a few classes here a couple years ago, I only remembered Heather and was really happy to see that she is still working here. I really enjoy her classes as she doesn't make you feel out of place if you are newer to yoga. She is very welcoming and encourages do whatever movements or positions that feel best for you. As for the classes with the vibration plates, I think its weird at first but after you take a few classes they are great. Sometimes the vibration was a bit much so I just stepped off the plate...no big deal. I LOVE that they offer late night classes and 20 minute sessions. Sometimes I don't have time for a full hour class or cant make it until after 7. The only negative (for me) is the cost but otherwise no complaints!
