I started coming to the Tempe location in the fall of 2025 and fell in love with it. I was new to reformer Pilates and all the instructors were so clear and supportive. I was going regularly until I injured myself and took a long pause from Pilates. I went back today and I'm so happy I did. It felt so good to be back and Lupe Loo really listened to my concerns and gave me expert guidance and cueing. I felt really safe and supported and all went well. Don't think twice about coming here. It's a wonderful place. read more

Friend booked a few classes and asked me to join. Tried to sign up and realized their website is not phone compatible. It kept repopulating the questionaire section and would not let me lock in the class. Plus you have to make a whole account and get put on an email list that will fill up your inbox. Annoying in 2026 but oh well. Get to a computer and see the class my friend is in is now full. Wouldn't have been an issue if the website worked on my iphone - there were still open spots when I originally looked. Okay i'll sign up for a standby spot. Credit card is charged. Figured it's like a hotel and it's a hold charge. No spots open up so I am not invited to attend class. Wait two weeks for my credit card to refund and it never does. 5-7 business days is standard, right? Wait until business hours to call and no one answeres the phone. Send and email alerting that i'm due for a refund. The next day I check my emails and see that they have signed my up for a "$200 NONREFUNDABLE" new client package?? Excuse me? Contact them and am told they charged me "by accident" and will refund. And if i'd never brought it to your attention were you going to catch your accident? Mind you I saw the email an entire day later and no one had caught it yet. WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS. read more

Great place. Just started and have completed 6 classes. Love the small class sizes. The instructors really pay attention and help with form. While it is a group class it feels like I'm getting very individualized help. I bought a couple classes to test it out as I had never done Pilates. Loved it enough to now be a monthly member. read more

Amazing place. We love classes with Amy as the instructor. She is above and beyond what we're looking for in an instructor. We went to six different places before we found function and we are at home here!! We love Function and we love Amy! Been going for almost two years and have never done the same routine!! It's always fresh and new! read more

I've been wanting to mix up my exercise routine and Function Pilates is a great place to do that. the class is small, there are endless ways to use the equipment, and every class is different. The instructors are nice and give clear guidance and modifications for different abilities. I love just showing up and knowing I'll have a new challenge every time! read more

They don't respond to calls after calling them multiple times and they also don't do refunds. The website is so messed up and bugs because one second it will say that there is no classes and then another it will show all the classes. You can't see where there are open spots in some parts of the website which isn't fair because I booked with a friend and there were not enough open spots so we had to cancel. read more

I love Pilates in general and the 2 instructors I had were good. Issues were with the owner and not honoring package specials as advertised (Groupon - if you do a free trial class and then buy a Groupon she will deduct a Groupon class!..that makes it not a free trial class...right)? I received an e-mail in November for a special price for 3 sessions as a birthday package. I used one session and when I had to cancel my 2nd class due to illness (and tried to reschedule) the owner cancelled the rest of my sessions with no explanation. My Emails to her to resolve the issue went unanswered. Other studios are ran more professionally and clients are noticeably happier in class. I only tried them because of the Groupon...not worth the stress the owner caused. read more

Great Pilates studio in Tempe with small class sizes that permits an individualized touch in class. I enjoy the variety of the weekly classes and the weekly class is never the same because the instructor always changes it up. I especially like taking classes with Amiee. Very welcoming and each instructor brings their own special touch to their classes. Recommend Function Pilates! read more

Really like this studio. I purchased a groupon a few months ago with a friend. We tried various instructors and got up to level 2 classes. I really enjoyed the studio but my friend thought it was too far from her house. So we tried another studio. I didn't care for the other studio as class sizes were too large and they didn't have different levels of classes. I was actually happy my package ran out so I could start back up at Function Pilates. This time around, I purchased my classes directly on their mindbody app. Scheduling classes is so easy and I like the fact that I can try different levels of classes if I want a different challenge. I am eager to give this a real shot at strengthening my core. read more

Great Pilates studio, so glad they focus on form, ask if you have injuries, and focus on hip stability and not injuring yourself, unlike many other Pilates studios! Vanessa is no longer teaching, and unfortunately, Ally, my favorite is leaving, but they are all very well trained by Vanessa, who is BASI and STOTT trained, from what I've read. I have decided, though, to wait a few weeks to see if I return, being that the state governor has removed the mask mandate and the owner wants to keep enforcing it, without even taking a survey or asking what customers want. Mountain Fitness completely removed their mandate, One Tribe Yoga did too, as well as another 2 Pilates studios I go to. It's all fear of losing business, but guess what? A few customers have talked about it outside of class and we don't think it's fair to those of us with asthma or other medical issues with masks, some can barely breathe with those masks while exercising. I am going back to Cynshine, another STOTT studio in Gilbert where the owner has allowed us to take off masks while working out for some time now. Much easier workout. If Vanessa changes things, I might be back then. Only reason this studio doesn't get 5 stars really, is because my old studio out of state had the same teachers for over 5 years and never lost one, and I see that many of the names in these reviews are no longer here, not sure why, and also the building is so old, when you look up at ceiling I wonder what is in those squares, they look so cheap! I'm used to boutique studios that are pristine. :( read more

This place is amazing for small group classes and for pilates teacher training. It's an amazing, welcoming community. I can't rave enough about this studio and am so glad to have found it! read more

So excited to have found this place! I am a total pilates newbie and the private lessons and small class size (6) is perfect for me. The studio is adorable and has a great energy to it. I've met and exchanged emails with the owner and her assistant and both were very friendly and helpful. I've really enjoyed the journey of learning something new and highly recommend this studio to those new and skilled at pilates. read more

Looking for a change in pace from your normal workout at the gym? Here is one that focuses on the toning, posture and strength. As a first timer I bought a 5 time pass and started with two Reformer 1 class to learn the right forms of Pilates exercise. Form is always important for getting the right workout and gaining results. And because I really wanted to get a variety of classes I took the chair/reformer class for my next two classes in which they switch between the chair class and halfway switch to reformer and vice versa. At first with Reformer 1 you will feel like it's a very light workout but when you do the chair and Reformer combo you really feel the workout the next day. Instructors Luann, Erin, and Mae were all great and focused on helping you with form. What's great about this class is that it's a 1:3 ratio, one instructor and three students. So this is why the instructors give much attention to form. All equipment is washed down after use with washcloth and a natural mint smelling spray. read more

This small studio has a welcoming vibe, and almost all of the instructors who I have taken reformer classes with give consistently good classes. The reason that I have been able to avoid injuries in my dancing or everyday life have been because of the strengthening I received here in the past. read more

Function is a small studio with 5 reformers so you can get personal attention and quality instruction. There are several different teachers, all with a little bit different styles so you can find one that you really like, or I take classes with each of them for the variety. They pay attention to each person's needs and suggest modifications for each person. They have an app and a website where you can sign up for classes, buy classes or cancel them. The app is easy to use. I haven't had trouble booking classes when I want them. They just added towers to the reformers so there are new things to try. read more

Although this location is completely out of my way....it's worth the drive! After hearing about Pilates so often, I decided to give it a try for the first time. Vanessa, (owner) and staff are AMAZING. I have some health issues with my body and the staff were so educated on how to instruct me for the optimal benefit without me hurting myself. This is such a rare quality, as many fitness places just treat everyone the same. The personalized attention each person gets will give you benefits that you'll see & feel. After each session I feel invigorated and ready for the day. F.E is the best Christmas present you can give yourself, so buy you package today! read more

I took mat Pilates for years and loved it. I was told by my physio that I needed to diversify my workouts or would continue to risk injury, so I thought why not try Pilates because I loved it in the past. This studio is small and clean and comfortable. Everyone is nice-- Vanessa the owner sent me an email after my first class to check in and make sure everything was ok. Class sizes are small and instructors pay attention to form. I loved my first reformer class and have been taking classes twice weekly now for 8 weeks. I feel stronger when I run and also just in general. I haven't had a recurrence of my running injuries since/yet; I believe the strength training and stretching that I'm incorporating via Pilates are at least somewhat to thank for this. Mae and Vanessa are my favorite instructors, but like I said, everyone is nice. I'm hooked! read more

I have been going to Function Pilates for a few months at this point. The instructors at Function Pilates are phenomenal, giving clear concise instruction and correction (as needed). The classes are small, thus optimizing and personalizing your class. As a mother of almost one year old twins, I am finally back in my pre pregnancy size jeans (thanks to Pilates). My back no longer hurts from carrying both babies (thanks to Pilates). Pilates has done wonders for getting me back in shape, realigning my body (thus less aches and pains), and feeling like myself again. I cannot say enough good things about this studio. I highly recommend Function Pilates! read more

I am obsessed with my Function Pilates classes. They may not always be easy (which is a good thing) but they are always fun! Aimee and Cherami are wonderful instructors and make me excited to come to class. I am amazed at how these Pilates classes have helped with my balance and strength. I know I have a ways to go...I look forward to experiencing this at Function Pilates. read more

I tried this studio because it was close to my house and am happy to have found it. The staff are very helpful and are great at providing individualized suggestions. The instructor (Codi) was also really helpful. She knew it was my first class and took extra time to explain all the moves and reasons for doing them. I'll be going back! read more

This studio is the BEST in Tempe! I found Vanessa through a group on purchase and her classes have been a blessing- Danielle and Alyssa have been especially helpful with my schedule and Ally, the instructor is so patient and kind. Her individual attention and guidance makes all the difference. The classes are small which is so refreshing after all of the group classes that I have tried where there are just too many people- the studio is light and airy and you feel a wonderful healing presence just walking though the front door. These ladies really rock and I encourage anyone who has never tried Pilates to come to Vanessa's studio- You will be hooked - just like me. By the way, ever wonder where "Samantha" from Sex in the City got her beautifully Long, lean and taught body? Yep- Pilates!! I am on my way. Thanks ladies!! read more

I love this Pilates studio! I found them by purchasing their Groupon and so glad that I did! I love that the class sizes are small as you get more attention and help along the way. I already have noticed a difference in my body. Can't wait for my next class. read more

I love this Pilates studio! Signed up for the Groupon to try it out and now I'm hooked. All the teachers are amazing. I love the small classes, almost like having a 1:1 class. read more

I have been attending classes here for a few months and love how much better I feel physically. It is so warm and welcoming. It is great to be greeted by name. read more

I've been going to Pilates for six months now and see a great difference with the tone of my body. The workouts are perfect, not too hard and not too easy. I am never sore from the work out. The instructors are very nice and knowledgeable. What makes this exceptional is that the classes are small, maximum three people per class so you get individual attention. The equipment is new and modern. If you want to be challenged, try chair Pilates. I'm addicted! read more

I am loving my Pilates classes!! Torrin and Crystal are both amazing. I've never looked forward to working out before. Thank you Ladies!!

My Husband and I have been going to Function Pilates studio for the past two years and all the instructors are caring and extremely knowledgeable. They take time to make sure you're challenged while ensuring your not going beyond your capabilities (it's not fun if you get hurt). It's wonderful to have the personalized attention since its 2 on 1 with the instructor. I recommend two classes a week if you can afford it. Pilates has done amazing things for my figure. I am now more toned, strong and healthy. Vanessa, the owner is fabulous! I've also taken many classes with Mae, and she is super too. Honestly, sign up and start your journey here. read more

Function Egoscue Pilates was my first experience with reformer Pilates. I have been going to Pilates for a little over 3 months now and hope to make it a lifestyle change for good. I am thrilled that my first experience with Pilates is with Vanessa and her studio. The staff is so knowledgable, I love the personalized attention to detail and the and feel that each client is of the utmost importance to Vanessa and every instructor to have the most wonderful and educated experience. If I could give 10 stars I would! read more

Excellent Pilates studio. Vanessa leads and guides very well. She caters to the individual and watches to be sure you understand and that form is correct. But, it's not in an intimidating way. I've had instructors watch me in the past so intensely that it ruins an experience. But it's just not like that here. And Mae is just awesome as well! She challenges me! And I love it! read more

My sister introduced me to Function Pilates about 8 months ago. She has been doing pilates for years at multiple studios/gyms and has never found anyone that compares to Vanessa. I began going and can tell a huge difference in my body. I do not ache like I used to, my posture is better and I feel better mentally than in my pre-pilates days. I go to both locations and have used Vanessa as well as many of her instructors (love Torrin) and love the small class sizes (3 people maximum) and personal attention. If you are interested in trying out pilates or looking for a great studio with incredible instructors, look no more! read more

I absolutely LOVE this place, they give personalized one on one attention to every class. If you are at all worried about taking a reformer class this is the place to try. There are only two people and you plus the instructor in each class. The teacher makes sure you are doing every move correctly. I love Helen, she is great, she knows me my strength and weaknesses and will help me improve. Now because there are only two spots in each class they do book up fast so you need to be on top of booking your classes, but they have a great app for that. LOVE this place referred my mom and now we go together read more

This is an awesome Pilates Studio with great instructors. The owner is very skilled at Pilates and more. I am taking the time to review this business as it has been life changing for me. I am not a workout person, and gym memberships have never worked for me. After listening to a friend of mine talk about Pilates I decided to try it with a Groupon purchase first. A bit skeptical after having 2 major surgeries last year, but the instructors are amazing at helping to find variations and encouraging students to listen to their bodies. This has helped to strengthen me and it is enjoyable too. The small classes are great and people are friendly. I started this studio 5 months ago and I actually look forward to going! Many thanks to a great studio and the instructors! read more

I really enjoy going to the Gilbert location of Function Pilates. I have never done this before and the instructor was patient and extremely helpful in making me feel comfortable and guiding me through the lesson. It's a wonderful environment. Only three clients at a time take the class so there is plenty of individual attention. This is a full body workout that didn't leave my joints in pain. I highly recommend this! read more

Excellent small class experience (at most 3). All instructors are highly knowledgable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I'll be the first to admit---I am not one of those people who enjoys working out. After having a baby I thought I'd give reformer pilates a try here...and after one class I was absolutely hooked. Finally a workout I actually can't wait for! I look forward to it all week. I appreciate that it incorporates both the mind-body connection and flexibility of yoga, but also focuses on strengthening, toning, and posture. It manages to be a relaxing workout while still being difficult and leaving my muscles fatigued. I leave the studio feeling calm, focused, and energized. I wish I had found it sooner. :) read more

I had been wanting to try Pilates for a while but the price and elitist attitude's of some studios I have visited in the past turned me off. However, Function is nothing like that. Since I'm a beginner, I purchased a Groupon to try it out. I then called the studio to schedule my first class. The woman that assisted me was so friendly and professional. My first class was with Ally and she was amazing. She was knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. The level 1 class wasn't too challenging but I still felt accomplished. This studio is definitely worth checking out! read more
