I first found out about this spot by accident! Haha I saw a TikTok where the creator went to the Market next door to try their legendary Sandwich. We thought the two spaces were the same and hunkered down and ordered, we got a Sandwich and a Lasagna. Everyone there is so nice, always greeting every customer with a big smile!! We also got a brief History of the restaurant. It was awesome to learn that they had at one point been together as one spot, but over time, they split into 2 businesses. Pietro's being the oldest Pizza Place in Pasadena. When we were told that, naturally we had to return to try the Pizza and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint!! I live in Burbank, and would GLADLY drive up to Pasadena to get the Lasagna (my new favorite Lasagna) and the Pizza!! OH! And you gotta try the Meatballs and their Pasta Salad! read more

After going to neighboring Roma's, my wife wanted to try out Pietro's for their dinner and hot foods. Because of COVID-19, no dining inside and only takeout is available. We tried the meatball sandwich and felt it was okay, but not the best we've had. There was a separate menu for Pizza, which is probably better than the sandwiches, and the hot foods menu was limited, but looked promising. I might come back if in the area, but nothing to drive too far for. read more

I cannot speak to service as this was from a delivery order. This review is solely on the food quality. We ordered wings, pizza, lasagna and a couple sides. The wings were dry, zero sauce, and somehow simultaneously slimy and seemingly undercooked. The pizza was much thinner than advertised and harder than cardboard. Very very dry. The house salad had unripe tomatoes (they were almost white) The garlic bread didn't seem to have any garlic on it. Lasagna noodles were incredibly over cooked to the point where the entire lasagna was basically meat sauce mush. All around very disappointed and won't be ordering anything from here again. read more

Located in a strip mall, this deli makes a delicious meatball sandwich! The small is actually quite big, so you'll have a snack for later. The French roll is greatly toasted and packed full of meatballs and cheese. I watched a couple guys enjoy a pizza, which looked delicious as well. Those guys never stopped eating, a true testament of the quality and taste of that pizza. After the last slice was gone, they picked at the pizza pan for fallen toppings. Aside from tending the counter, the gentleman behind the counter delivers your food and cleans the tables with a huge smile on his face. He makes sure everything is up to your standards, before returning behind the counter. The dining room is just large enough for a couple small groups to get together or maybe a total of 36 to sit comfortably while enjoying their food. came here for the third time . Brought my brother this time cause I can't stop raving about the pastrami sandwich. He got the meatball sub, he was a FAN . Will be coming plenty more times . Service was nice, not too long wait. Perfection takes time . Would definitely recommend this place to friend and family read more

This is the perfect, ideal place for an afternoon sandwich. I got the prosciutto sandwich, it was incredible. Likely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It's so perfectly simple, really fresh ingredients, with a really solid amount of meat. Somehow even the pepperoncinis on the side seemed to me to be high quality for just a sandwich/ pizza spot. The prices are also super reasonable. The people working there were so pleasant and sweet too. I like the ambiance, it reminds me of New York. This place is amazing, people leaving negative reviews are probably all Karens, I truly dont understand why people feel the need to trash talk a place online because the people working there wanted to leave at their scheduled time. Some people are just bitter. Keep it up Pietros!! I look forward to more pizzas and sandwiches :) read more

This sandwich shop is OG Pasadena. I have been coming here for over 30 years. I have tried everything on the menu and honestly, everything on the menu is good. But my go to is the turkey and provolone sandwich with extra pepperoncini's. Awe man it's perfect. It's in a little shopping center and parking can be tight, but there's street parking too. The pizzas are good too and if you like the thin crust, then you'll gonna love it too. I have moved out to the IE, but I still make the trek out to Pasadena to get a great sandwich. I was hoping for a real Italian hero (sub) since it looked like the real thing and was next to an Italian market as well. Sadly, Jersey Mikes is way better. I ordered a large Pietros Special and was very disappointed. There was hardly any meat, cheese, lettuce or tomato. Really there was not much of anything on it (see pic). I should have known when I picked it up off the counter to take home because it was so light. I am so sad and disappointed. read more

Parking lot sucks because it's shared with other business and during peak hours you might not be able to find parking OR get out of your space due to all the cars. Their menu includes pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and sides like wings/mozzarella sticks. You cannot go wrong with their pizza. It's delicious. A basic pepperoni and cheese pizza will hit the spot. I wasn't a fan of their wings. They were mushy and didn't have enough Buffalo sauce for my liking. However, the pizza will always have me coming back. Staff is friendly. Inside is outdated but I never eat inside I always take my food to go. Definitely recommend visiting Roma's if you're at Pietro's :) read more

Very yummy and filling sandwiches. My favorite is the turkey and provolone with extra cheese! It comes with cheese, turkey, lettuce, mayo, yellow peppers, and tomato! They have two sizes regular and large. The large is a little bigger than a foot long. The meatball sub with mozzarella is pretty tasty too! The bread is always fresh, soft, and the perfect thickness. Prices are reasonable for the sandwiches and you can also place your order over the phone! Staff here are always friendly and deliver fast service. read more

Ugh ,don't let your husband's choose where to eat.. I wanted pizza and at 1st we went to pizza co ,no sitting down,husband found this spot on yelp so we decided to give it a try. 1st its so hot in there,2nd no xl pizza just large, 3rd I thought the pizza would be your average pizza ,thick slices ..no it was thin and burnt. The Hoagie- Best Italian sandwhich the service good, they were fairly fast. I suggest ordering the sand-which there in the spot not ahead of time. When I go in person for some reason it's perfect. A very Satisfying sub! You get a lot of bang for your buck here! A large sandwich is a 12" sesame roll. The bread has medium density and a soft chew (not a crusty bread). I got a prosciutto sandwich and it was fully fully loaded. They are so generous with their portions. You definitely get your moneys worth. The only thing that you need to watch out for is their prosciutto sandwich is dressed with Italian dressing and mayo, in addition to cheese lettuce and tomato. I opted for no italian dressing nor mayo, and substituted only olive oil instead. read more

I have eaten here for lunch once (they have good specials and a decenyt sub sandwhich)...and I have ordered a pizza to go once. Both times it was good. Order your pizza well-done if you like you thin crust crispy. And Pietro's is right next door to Roma's Italian Market - from which Pietro's gets many of their ingredients. After 10-12 years of been a loyal costumer I'm sad to said I'm not going back to this place. Cashier today was very rude questioning me of bringing outside food when my kids and I ordered a sandwich from this place don't you know your own sandwiches? Mistreat another employee in front of me and my kids for providing us a cup (which my son try to pay and they decline payment but the lady didn't like that . Very sad. I ordered a pizza through Door dash. I received a pizza that I didn't order and couldn't eat. It took them an hour and a 30 minute phone conversation to get the correct pizza to me. By the time they delivered my pizza I had eaten something else. They have very poor service and communication. I will probably avoid this restaurant until I can be assured that their service has improved. read more

Went right when they opened and got a large Caesar salad, which was pretty good. The problem were the two four square pizzas. And the biggest trouble was the sauce, which is way too sweet in my opinion. I got the plain cheese and one with black olives and Italian sausage, which was more generous with the olives than the spare sausage. I didn't think it was anything special. Then again, I have been to the main places in Detroit and not been wowed there either. Still, this wasn't as good as other Detroit pizzas I've tried, so unfortunately I can't recommend it from my experience.

The crust absolutely saves them from being bad but it still made it just an "okay" slice of pizza. The staff at the order window were friendly and helpful. The environment could use a little cleaning but overall it seems like it reflected the hipster/ quick eats vibe they're going for and it works for their business. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and the entire meal felt thoughtfully prepared rather than simply being about presentation.
