I'll keep this review short. There are some bad reviews of this place , but this food was absolutely amazing. The hanger steak could have been cut with a fork, and my wife's burger was maybe the best burger we have ever had. The meat quality was amazing. First time having ratatoullie, it was loaded with flavor. $17 for a side of that may be a bit high but the quality is unmatched. Finished with the mousse. Best mousse I have ever had. Service was great. Food was amazing. Only have two knocks on the place. $6 for table bread and butter. Come on, you should never have to charge for that. It was good, but it was nothing to write about. And the booths are a little tight. We had our pick at the table so that's on me, but other than those two things, fantastic restaurant. We will 100% be back.

An okay experience with quite the snobby vibe to it. The juices were my favorite part but why could've been cold. The octopus ceviche was the best plate i had because the eggs omelette was good but not memorable! Service was really great and the scene itself is very european.

When coming to Bridgehampton I enjoy coming to this establishment very much. Number one they love my dog Zev so that's an automatic high rating lol. Ok now for the food I had spinach and goat omelette. It was made perfectly great presentation and a yummy flavor yes had a party in my mouth. The meal came with a fresh green salad(dressed in oil and vinegar) and home fries that were seasoned with perfection. I also had a delish ice tea very refreshing. I love the the outdoor setting here the chairs are comfy and environment is chil with excellent Servers.

When we arrived for our reservation, I was told we would be seated outdoors rather than the requested indoors. When asked why, I was told because I was wearing shorts--even though a) they are dressy shorts and b) nowhere in its posted policy does it say shorts are prohibited. We complied, but weren't thrilled. Then I saw a number of men wearing shorts who were seated indoors. After a delicious meal--and after getting smacked with a thunderous rainstorm, I went in to re-inquire why we were seated outdoors. The "gentleman" re-stated the policy. I then showed him pictures of two men wearing shorts that he seated indoors and asked why. He claimed "I didn't notice THEIR shorts." I asked him if he was Pierre (older gentleman with white hair). He refused to give me his name and suggested I leave. Based on other similar reviews, I would suggest this person either take a lesson in how to properly treat human beings--or perhaps he should have a desk job in the back would be in order if he is incapable of appropriately interacting with his fellow man. If I were rating the restaurant on food, it would be a 5. If it were rated on his interactions, it would be lower than zero, thus my rating of 2.

A pretty good experience! The service was pretty fast and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their meals a lot. We ordered the soft shell crab, Alfredo and Caesar salad. I wasn't hungry but had their coffee eclair and it was fabulous! Cute French spot. Will definitely return again to enjoy a meal here.

My colleagues and I found this place around lunchtime so decided to stop in for some food. Not sure how to describe the greeting but it was rather muted to say the least. Each of us noticed it and commented how unfriendly the gentleman was who seated us. Turns out he's the owner and the reviews on all sites pick up on his demeanor. He wasn't rude but certainly wasn't welcoming. Anyway, the food was pretty good and the rest of the staff seemed friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is quite nice and has a bright and cheery vibe - irony. It is quite pricey but I guess that's par for the course in the area. I's revisit but it's more likely I'll find different spots in the area before then. Give it a try and make your own mind up. The food won't let you down.

Went for lunch, prices still exorbitant, food barely mediocre. Kind of embarrassing as I was treating a friend visiting from France.

To start off with the service was superb. The ambience was really lovely, cozy, quiet and just lovely I started off with the escargot which were exquisitely delicious. I then had the pork chop milanese which was a big wow. Again perfectly cooked. We had some of their specialty cocktails, which were delicious. Highly recommend Bistro Ete!!!!!

My husband and I came in around 6 pm on a Sunday evening for dinner (booked ahead of time) and the place was pretty empty. We were seated right away and our server was great, super friendly and helpful with what to order. There are a ton of specials off the menu which sounded amazing, so we both ordered two specials with Hake (~$46 each). Both were delicious, fresh and innovative takes on fish. I wish they had more of the specials listed because it was hard for us to keep them all straight. I started with the fondue for one which was tasty and fun but I would have preferred if it also came with cornichons and that the potatoes weren't fried (it was really heavy and oily with cheese and fried potatoes). Drinks were pretty weak for $26, and the bartender actually forgot to add champagne to one of our French 75s, lol. He did remedy it, though. We split the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was a little strange but tasty. All in all the food was very flavorful but at the price point I probably wouldn't come back. I guess you can get away with that in the Hamptons, even in the off season!

When someone finally acknowledged us, we were just told to "wait." Ten minutes later, we checked in again, only to be told that our table was still occupied, with no real update or apology. Trying to make the best of it, we went to the bar to order a drink while we waited, but the bartender responded with an attitude and told us "the host will be with you soon" -- which had nothing to do with the fact that we were simply trying to get a drink while we stood there waiting. It was an unnecessary brush-off. We were finally seated over 30 minutes after our reservation, and placed our full order right away, hoping to make up for lost time. But then the cheese board took another 30 minutes to arrive. When we asked, we were told there was some kind of miscommunication -- again, no real ownership or urgency. Then came the main course. I ordered the bavette steak medium rare, but what I got was clearly rare and chewy, as the photo shows. When I mentioned it, the waitress did say it looked maybe on the rare side to her but also that Bavette can come out like that looking red - but Undercooked and poorly prepared is not a feature of the cut. We didn't want to wait longer so just ate some. To be fair, our waitress was kind and acknowledged the issues, but it was one of the most frustrating "high-end" dining experiences I've had. At these prices and with this reputation, you expect better service, better pacing, and food cooked properly. Instead, it felt like we were an afterthought the entire night.
