Totti the best waitor!!!
Jessica P.

I would highly recommend the Pier House. The environment is beautiful and the food is fantastic. The calamari was crispy and the dipping sauce was delicious. The rigatoni alla vodka is a great dish and the sauce is amazing. I also got the blueberry smash as a drink and it was very refreshing! Totti was my waitor a few weeks ago and he recognized me on my second visit which was so nice. He is the best waitor and always provides information about the food on the menu. He always has a smile on his face and is so kind and polite! I live three hours away, but I told him when I come back for vacation next year I will be requesting him as my waitor again! Thank you for the best experience Totti!

Avocado toast, potatoes, waffle

We made brunch reservations on a Sunday in the offseason since there aren't many places open yet and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. The service was good, it's a lovely restaurant with light music and good vibes. I enjoyed my avocado toast- there is an upcharge for eggs at the moment but everyone is going that way. The poached eggs were well done which isn't always the case. Will come back again next time we're in town.

Honestly, what an amazing experience! Last month our group went to the Pier House for dinner to celebrate my sister's bachelorette and it was truly one of the highlights of the weekend. The room we were sat in was beautiful and the table was decorated with fresh flowers, it really elevated the experience. We visited during restaurant week and everyone was able to choose a variety of options from the prix fixe menu which was great! A favorite of the group was the lemon drop martini, expertly crafted. The food was absolutely delicious with such a nice presentation. Our waiter Totti was absolutely amazing, he was attentive, professional and just all around pleasant (I may go as far to argue he 100% deserves employee of the year!) The manager that night was also so friendly. We were offered complimentary celebratory champagne and they took so many group photos for us. It truly felt like a VIP night! I can't say enough great things about our experience. Thank you so much for a great evening!

I wanted to start the review by saying the furniture and layout of the restaurant was very nice. Eggs? Not super tasty but ok. Pancakes? Very plain and not yummy. I thought I was eating cardboard for a second. Bacon? Heavenly. Very nice waitress but SUPER long wait time. I don't know if this was on off day but I will not be coming back.

We came here for a bachelorette party this weekend and we had such a wonderful experience! We were a large group of 15 and they formed a long table on one side of the room to accommodate us. It was restaurant week so they had a lovely Prix Fix menu available that we all ended up ordering from. We were able to pick an appetizer, meal and dessert with several diverse options. I got the tuna appetizer is was delicious. For my dinner I had the vodka rigatoni with burrata that was so incredibly good! the sauce had a little kick and the burrata was so refreshing. The star was the dessert, I got the pineapple upside down cheesecake and oh my goodness it was scrumptious. Our server Totti was amazing, he was very attentive and continued to check in and make sure everything was to our liking. He made sure our water cups, and cocktail glasses were never empty. They kindly offered us a champagne toast at the end of the evening and offered to take pictures of our group which was very nice. I highly recommend this establishment if you're in the area or looking for somewhere to take a large group! Out of all the restaurants we went to we had the best experience here!

Miso glazed salmon

Service for 2 adults at 6:00 PM on a Thursday. Our server, Erin, was lovely. She was friendly, professional and courteous. The indoor dining room was hardly occupied. There was plenty of street parking right outside! We ordered the miso glazed salmon with jasmine rice and a tropical fruit salsa; and, the chicken Milanese. The salmon was delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken was unevenly cooked with the thicker sections NOT fully cooked. They were partially pink inside, with a chewy/rubbery texture as well as pink juices. The few pieces cut from the thinner fully cooked section were flavorful but overall this was a fail.

Cape May Eggs Benedict

Breakfast here was absolutely delicious! I had the Cape May Eggs Benedict. Highly recommend! My husband and I split the French toast (if by split, meaning he ate 3/4's of it ). Have not had French toast in so long and it had me wanting this dish as a regular breakfast item!

Short rib

Ambiance, drinks, food, service are all 10/10. What an amazing time we had at The Pier House. This was one of the best meals we've had in a while! Not only was the food delicious but we met some great people while enjoying our dinner at the bar area. We will most definitely be back.

Yelp Mad Batter…read morereally impressed me. There we were, in Cape May on Thanksgiving Saturday looking for parking nearby. After finally finding a space, we walked up to Mad Batter, where there were already a number of people standing outside. We were a party of seven, so this wasn't looking good for us. Well, we had a Thanksgiving miracle. They had a table ready for us in less that ten minutes! The food and service here were both very good. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was very mild in flavor but still good. I recommend it, but I'll try some of their other offerings before I get it again. My sister-in-law had one of the specials, the Fried Tomato & Cracked Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. She and my brother agreed that it was messy but delicious. The lobster mayo set it off nicely. Our server was really friendly and accommodating. She made sure we were taken well care of. We pointed out an error in the check, and she was very kind in taking care of it, and gave no attitude. If you can find parking, this place is worth coming to!

The worse possible service ever! TO THE OWNER: Please…read moreremind all waitstaff to ask customers about any allergies before serving food, to ensure their safety and prevent any potential harm. I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it! Or at the very least ask the customers if they have any allergies beforehand

While the…read morekitchen and bar are clearly talented, the service and management decisions completely ruined the evening. The Positives: I have to give credit where it is due as the food and drinks were genuinely great. We ordered the calamari, celery root soup, scallops, and the chicken breast. Everything came out delicious and perfectly prepared. The drinks were also a highlight specifically the pomegranate margarita and the winter sangria. The bartender clearly knows what they are doing. The Service: Absent and Unprofessional. Unfortunately, the night took a sharp turn regarding the service. Our waitress was virtually non existent. She spent the entire night chatting with another couple, barely sparing a moment for our table outside of taking the initial order. It got to the point where the bartender had to do the waitresses job. Our drinks were sitting on the bar for quite a while until the bartender finally walked them over to us, saying, "I just wanted to drop these off so they wouldn't sit out." Later, we watched the bartender go into the back and run food to the other couple, the very table our waitress was busy socializing with, telling them he, "just wanted to bring this out so it would still be hot." The bartender was acting more like a waiter than our actual server was. Sketchy Billing & Atmosphere: Things got even stranger when the check arrived. We noticed a $24 charge for a "cheeseburger"--an item that isn't even on the menu. We flagged down the waitress, and before we could even explain the issue, she immediately said, "Oh yes, you are right, there is an error, sorry about that." It was an incredibly odd reaction; she knew there was an error before we even vocalized what was wrong. To top it off, the dining room was absolutely freezing. When we asked why, the waitress claimed the heat was broken. However, upon visiting the restroom, the heat was pumping just fine. It felt deliberate--like a corner cutting measure to save money during the off-season rather than a genuine mechanical failure. Overall: Despite the food being delicious, the terrible service, the suspicious billing "error," and the uncomfortable temperature make this a place I cannot recommend. For the price point, you expect a certain level of professionalism and comfort, and Ebbitt Room failed on both counts. I will not be returning.

The odyssey to finding it was well worth the effort. We had dinner reservations but on a Monday in May, probably did not need them. We both loved our flounder almondine order, despite it being a Monday night (when one does not typically order fish and expect it to be fresh). This really was! Service was top-notch and super-friendly from Jared, who was deeply apologetic when the oyster appetizer we ordered failed to appear - he comped a beer without prompting (and insisted upon it). Even absent this gesture, his attitude and manner made our evening - the excellence of the entrees was a cherry on top. One note and not the fault of the restaurant at all - a number of families with small children were dining at other tables. This is not an especially well-suited restaurant for families with under-5 kids. Their collective noise and behavior was more akin to, well, a Chuck-E-Cheese or MacDonalds. There was nothing anyone could do, of course.

Asked us if we minded sitting on the inside deck. We did mind and were then show to a table inside the restaurant. (If we had our kids with us, then I would have not minded eating on the deck). The table was an awesome tucked away corner table that faced the inner dining room. The decor and experience were top notch. I'm glad I said no to eating outside. The room is absolutely beautiful if you are into vintage looks. I said it looked like Gaston's Tavern. Food and waitress service was good. My sister had the short ribs and they were tasty. I had a burger well done (and it was!) with both fries and a side salad. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and felt it was a good value for the cost. Love, Nicole
