The service was fantastic. We have been here a few times and the food is always delicious. My brother said this friend toast is the best he's ever had. We went there for dinner and sampled some of the freshest seafood possible. The place is bustling, open layout and super polite and engaging staff. Shout out to Elaine for helping us with enthusiasm. Grilled octopus and Thai shrimp appetizers were excellent. Elaine suggested California cabernet savignon and it was outstanding. Light and airy, subtle fruity taste Scallops with corn risotto was cooked to perfection. So was chicken milanese and short ribs. I was visiting Cape May and had dinner at The Pier House. It was great!! We sat in the indoor dining room, which was nice because it was quite hot outside. However, it also has windows with views of the ocean. For my appetizer, I got the fried calamari, which was great. It had a crispy outside, but not overly oily. The calamari had a good bite to it. It came with a nice side of some good marina sauce for dipping, too. In addition, I had the balsamic strawberry salad, which was big, but great. The lettuce was fresh and went well with the balsamic vinaigrette. The goat cheese, tasty strawberries and almonds were the perfect touch. I got the scallops, which were excellent, for my entree. Topped with a balsamic glaze, it was perfectly charred and tasty. Finally, I got the flourless chocolate cake with a glass of cold milk for dessert. The cake is fantastic: very flavorful and filling - I was unable to finish it all. Our waitress was very professional and took good care of us. I would highly recommend the Pier House. The environment is beautiful and the food is fantastic. The calamari was crispy and the dipping sauce was delicious. The rigatoni alla vodka is a great dish and the sauce is amazing. I also got the blueberry smash as a drink and it was very refreshing! Totti was my waitor a few weeks ago and he recognized me on my second visit which was so nice. He is the best waitor and always provides information about the food on the menu. He always has a smile on his face and is so kind and polite! I live three hours away, but I told him when I come back for vacation next year I will be requesting him as my waitor again! We made brunch reservations on a Sunday in the offseason since there aren't many places open yet and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. The service was good, it's a lovely restaurant with light music and good vibes. I enjoyed my avocado toast- there is an upcharge for eggs at the moment but everyone is going that way. The poached eggs were well done which isn't always the case. Will come back again next time we're in town. read more

Honestly, what an amazing experience! Last month our group went to the Pier House for dinner to celebrate my sister's bachelorette and it was truly one of the highlights of the weekend. The room we were sat in was beautiful and the table was decorated with fresh flowers, it really elevated the experience. We visited during restaurant week and everyone was able to choose a variety of options from the prix fixe menu which was great! A favorite of the group was the lemon drop martini, expertly crafted. The food was absolutely delicious with such a nice presentation. Our waiter Totti was absolutely amazing, he was attentive, professional and just all around pleasant (I may go as far to argue he 100% deserves employee of the year!) The manager that night was also so friendly. We were offered complimentary celebratory champagne and they took so many group photos for us. It truly felt like a VIP night! We came here for a bachelorette party this weekend and we had such a wonderful experience! We were a large group of 15 and they formed a long table on one side of the room to accommodate us. It was restaurant week so they had a lovely Prix Fix menu available that we all ended up ordering from. We were able to pick an appetizer, meal and dessert with several diverse options. I got the tuna appetizer is was delicious. For my dinner I had the vodka rigatoni with burrata that was so incredibly good! the sauce had a little kick and the burrata was so refreshing. The star was the dessert, I got the pineapple upside down cheesecake and oh my goodness it was scrumptious. Our server Totti was amazing, he was very attentive and continued to check in and make sure everything was to our liking. He made sure our water cups, and cocktail glasses were never empty. They kindly offered us a champagne toast at the end of the evening and offered to take pictures of our group which was very nice. Service for 2 adults at 6:00 PM on a Thursday. Our server, Erin, was lovely. She was friendly, professional and courteous. The indoor dining room was hardly occupied. There was plenty of street parking right outside! We ordered the miso glazed salmon with jasmine rice and a tropical fruit salsa; and, the chicken Milanese. The salmon was delicious. Unfortunately, the chicken was unevenly cooked with the thicker sections NOT fully cooked. They were partially pink inside, with a chewy/rubbery texture as well as pink juices. The few pieces cut from the thinner fully cooked section were flavorful but overall this was a fail. read more

We used to love the pier house. Food was great , they had a nice outdoor patio and prices reasonable. We went back after the refurbishment and tried for breakfast and dinner and will not be back. The new patio is nice but not really outside and service needs some serious training. Dinner was very pricey and I only enjoyed 2 of the 5 dishes we ordered . Breakfast I needed to find a staff member who would give me my meal after the rest of my party were served 10 minutes prior. I got no apology. When we asked a server if we could charge breakfast to our table, they said to ask our server when the more appropriate response would be , "I'll find out for you." They had a good lunch special but we really had no interest in returning . Management and appropriate training appears to be MIA. read more

We stayed at La Mer and this was their hotel restaurant and bar. The bar area was small but great. The bartenders did an amazing job and they were in constant motion! We ordered apps as well and they were wonderful! Oysters and shrimp - beautifully prepared. The oysters were fresh and the accompanying vinaigrette was some of the best I've ever had. I ran a race there and after it, we wanted to just grab some food and bring it back to the room. We didn't really want a big meal so we asked if they had sandwiches. They didn't, but the host went back and asked the chef if he'd make something up for us. He graciously said he would. Just a burger and fries, but this was service above and beyond! Way to go, and many thanks!! It was delicious and the fries were perfect! We also ate there for breakfast. It was excellent and we got a ton of food! We had their Eggs Benedict and the waffle breakfast special with a giant cup of coffee. Both were delicious. We couldn't finish it all. Their hash browns were also yummy! We got really lucky. We're only in Cape May for a few days. Tomorrow night we're meeting friends for dinner and I didn't think it would be quite so difficult to get reservations. Everyplace that our hotel recommended was booked. I found this place after looking at a number of places. We got reservations for 7:15. I called them in but when we got there they didn't have us down. I'm not marking them down for that. Everyone wanted to be outside tonight as it was a perfect evening. Inside was downright empty and I can't figure out why as the decor was beautiful in light blues and white. The hostess got us in right away for outside dining. We got a drink at the outside bar and listened to a fabulous duo, Bougie and the Beast. It was really nice being on the listening end since I'm a retired vocal music teacher and my husband is a retired orchestra jazz director and a musician. We only got away in between gigs. They were fabulous. The female singer was excellent. I've enclosed photos. The Google reviews were OK, not great, so we were very pleasantly surprised. I had Reisling and my husband a Pinot Noir. We didn't order apps because we don't have huge appetites and knew the meal would fill us up. I had the Mahi Mahi special. It was cooked at medium, which was my request. It was very flavorful. My husband's strip steak was excellent and cooked medium at his request. The apple dessert, with 2 forks was also delicious. The service was attentive. Just right. We weren't rushed. The Pier House was located conveniently right near the beach. They have a great outdoor area with fire pits and live music. We decided to sit inside. The waiter was very friendly and helped us with our dinner choices. We started off with some cocktails that were made very well. The appetizer we got was really good. Seemed like the crispy calamari had just been freshly made. The crab cakes were really crispy on the outside which was very unique. I liked the green beans that were under my Mahi Mahi. What a wonderful experience. Our server Sara was excellent. Very personable, kind, great with up selling, and genuinely nice. She took her time to thoroughly explain dishes, and checked-in in a timely manner. Food was 10/10 - got the soft crab special, burrata, branzino, cheesecake and crème brûlée. This was the only restaurant that could accommodate outside dining on a Saturday night; wind off the ocean made this a cool choice. Scallops and crab cakes were both Market Price so a bit dear at $48 (as the waiter pointed out they were each the same price as a steak) - cool on the inside and not evenly seared. Veg sides were not special. Salmon with sherry caper sauce was a bit sherry forward; rice and spinach with mushroom sides were underwhelming. Beet salad was good but the vinaigrette was vinegar forward. Honestly, the crispy Brussels sprout appetizer earned a star. read more

THe potatoes are to die for - I almost put some in my purse for later!! lol Build your own omelet was a hit with the guys as well. Coffee is fresh and hot. Bloody Mary not overly garnished, more emphasis on the taste - good going bar staff! Can't say enough about the place - staff was soooo friendly. What a great restaurant to compliment the La Mer Resort. My party and I stayed here for 1 night while we visited Cape May and ate out at this joint for dinner. It has a really nice outdoor seating area along with performer singing and playing the guitar the whole night. Great ambiance and even better service. The staff are super friendly and are very good at handling allergies. I told my waiter of my food allergy and they tripled checked everything. We ordered a few starters in the beginning. We got fried Calamari, steak tip, and clams. The food was pretty good. The steak tip flat bread was a bit dry and didn't have that savory taste to it that I had expected. This was similar to the clams. Calamari was good. For my entree, I got the pork chop. This was pretty amazing. Soo much juice was in it and with the Apple maple sauce; it was sweet with some salty kick to it. Plus, with some vegetables, it made for a delicious and healthy meal. Would recommend! read more
