Cute (almost hidden) cafe tucked in the Carpenter's Square Mall. It was morning during Labor Day weekend when I went so, needless to say, the line was out the door. The Barista is an artist, takes his time creating the "Magic," and my Frozen Hot Chocolate was just as good as NYC's Serendipity 3. This is a delicious little coffee shop in a building with several other small boutiques. They have more syrup options than I've ever seen in my life, and this is the first coffee shop I have ever seen that had Lactaid milk available. I was walking around Cape May absorbing the sights when I suddenly felt a thirst. I had bookmarked several coffee shops in preparation for my trip here, so I whipped out Yelp and noticed I was super close to Magic Brain Cafe. That was all I needed to know, so I made my way over. Magic Brain has its own dedicated entrance on Perry Street, but it's also part of the Carpenter Square Mall which is a super small collection of stores in a mini mall on Carpenter Ln. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by aesthetics - very coffeehouse with medium woods, shelves with trinkets/merch, and touches of green to keep it fresh. The menu had typical coffeehouse items; on a hot/humid day like it was I would typically go for an iced coffee, but I already had 3 cups so I went with their iced tea. It was black unsweetened which was exactly what I was looking for. The tea was good - refreshing with just enough tea flavor; it hit the spot. Service was fast and friendly - overall this is a solid spot in Cape May for a beverage. I noticed they also carry a selection some baked goods, so I would definitely return for some of their bakes as well as more liquid peps. read more

Came here as our first stop off the Lewes-Cape May ferry. The place is so cute and welcoming. The two staff members were very kind and answered all our questions and more! I received a perfectly temped mocha latte, which was tasty. My friend had a chocolate scone and an anise biscotti and her very first mocha latte. She really enjoyed everything! Not a ton of seating, but we all made it work. They have lots of options for bagged coffee, which looked good but I couldn't make a decision. It would appear they also have yoga upstairs, which is fun. Sad I missed this, but in the corner by the window they have games! Would definitely come back if I am in the area again. read more

Cute funky space, friendly staff and solid cups of caffeine. Upon entry you see a little nook with seats and books alongside a few other seating options by the window and a bench area on the right. The counter is small but offers a number of baked goods including vegan options. We opted for: London fog (5/5) Dirty chai with oat milk (5/5) really delish and what I wanted. I even bought the last container of chai they use on site 2 vegan chocolate chip scones (5/5) hit for the kiddos It's within a little "mall" next to the famously pink store with a yoga studio upstairs. The man working that day gave the littles cute little magic brain temporary tattoos and as folks were filing in you could tell it's an adored gem in the neighborhood. I really enjoyed this place the coffee bean they use is really good quality. They use an Italian coffee to make mine. I am my opinion for the price. It was excellent. It was cheaper than Starbucks. Plus, I feel the coffee was even better than Starbucks Some of these places are not big huge franchises can be so much better because they focus a lot more what they're producing and the quality of their product. I would definitely recommend getting coffee in this place. This little shop is very pleasant and very quiet and it has a lot of seating area, which is really nice and cozy . Plus, the workers are very pleasant. I'm very attentive to the customer. I felt welcome there. I will definitely be visiting there again. read more

The small footprint means there can inherently be a build up of patrons with just 1 or 2 workers serving. However they manage to handle the orders and lines with incredible patience and joy at an efficient pace. Staying in Cape May for a week with family and decided to use my electric bike rental to explore a bit. Coffee shop hunting is a bit of a pastime of mine and I selected Magic Brain from several highly rated options in this touristy area. I ordered a decaf vanilla latte with whole milk and the flavor was very satisfying. Sweetness and flavor were balanced excellently, without the chemical aftertaste some vanilla syrups can have. The decor is charming, unpretentious, and thoroughly native to the community. While there isn't a ton of seating, what is there is quality. Books of various genres line the walls of a cozy reading nook, from politics to economics, from photography to more light-hearted fare. The staff were friendly despite being absolutely slammed. Not the best place to do work unless you're lucky enough to catch the one suitable seat unoccupied, but otherwise, deserving of its reputation. read more

I recommend getting any of the espresso drinks (The medium lattes come with 2 shots of espresso and the large comes with 3 shots) I had a cookie dough iced latte, a red eye coffee, cheddar chive scone and blueberry scone. Went here with my family for coffee and other drinks. I'm not a fan of coffee, so I got a steamer. I asked the barista what flavor he recommended to go with oat milk and he suggested lavender. I'm not opposed to lavender, but it also wouldn't have been my first choice. It was interesting and I still enjoyed it, but I would definitely try something else next time like cookies and cream, or hazelnut or something. They have several flavors and some unique ones (hence the lavender). My nephew got a hot chocolate which I tried and that also tasted good. It's a cute little store and they even have yoga upstairs. They also had some games and a teeny bit of seating. We played jumbo tic tac toe. I'd say if you're looking for a coffee shop, this would be a nice place to try out. read more

I had a life-changing cinnamon scone here while on vacation! I don't normally get cinnamon scones but I'm so glad I took a chance on it when I visited this cafe. Theirs is made with cinnamon chips(?) throughout, and the cinnamon tidbits just melt delightfully in your mouth! The scone itself is perfectly airy yet crumbly. Bonus if you get here early and can grab one that's fresh and toasty! I loved it so much that I had to go back the next day for another one before we headed home! Coffee is also consistent here.
