As soon as you walk in it smells heavenly gotta get there before 12pm for any breakfast sandwiches. I believe it's only 3 options and based on how the establishment smells, the food probably smells just as great. Gotta try their muffins and scones and they got a gluten free cookie. Recommend 100% staff was very informative with their ingredients. So friendly. Very cute

Not the best coffee but not the worst. It just tasted off, not sure what it was. I did appreciate the (very) large size that they had - just what I needed for a pick me up. I felt weird that they only accepted cash or a (personal) Venmo. It's also on the more expensive side for an average tasting coffee. However, it's an okay spot if you are in need of a coffee while in Washington Street Mall.

PROs - location , coffee , service , price CONs - parking Was visiting cape May and we came to Washington mall. Parking was a mess here ! It was super crowded and it took us almost 20-30 mins to find a parking spot. Once we got parking , we just enjoyed this place . Really nice and colorful . So many good shops around . Lovely ambience to spend time with family. Was craving coffee and found this place . Looked a very good and family owned kind of a business .. we ordered a few things - coffee , chai , maschiato etc .. mostly fine . Coffee and maschiato were good .. chai was ok . Service was good . Pricing was also ok. Not much wait time . No restrooms , overall a good experience.. 4 stars

Really great coffee spot! It's conveniently located at Washington Mall. I got a hot coffee and it was excellent! They had many different selections to choose from so definitely plan on going back and trying something different. The service was good as well! Highly recommend checking this place out.

Great selection of hot and cold coffee. Also, the baked goods and smoothies are tasty too. The Wyatt breakfast sandwich is delicious. Very friendly staff, and lots of locals hanging out and chatting. Really nice ambiance, super convenient location. If you're ever in the area. GET SOME!!!!

Coffee Tyme is delicious and has the most amazing combinations and flavors! The workers gave great personalized suggestions and I loved my raspberry mocha coffee. It was so clean and since it was off season - no lines! They have signs saying coast guard recruits get free coffee. Very generous! Hot or cold you can't go wrong with Coffee Tyme.

Freda's Café deserves five stars! We have come here many times over the last 10 years. We have…read morenever been disappointed in the food. The service is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is charming and cozy. But the real reason to come here is the food. The husband and wife who do the cooking do an extraordinary job with seafood. Last night I had a seafood dish that included lobster, crab, scallops, and shrimp. Each piece of fish was cooked to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth, and the sauce was wonderful. It's no easy feat to cook fish so perfectly, and to do each type perfectly in a combined dish is outstanding. The seafood bisque is delicious and the homemade desserts are also quite excellent. We have eaten indoors and outdoors at this café and highly recommend it.

I'm conflicted on this one, Freda's was definitely an odd duck. Coming into it, I loved the decor…read moreincluding the stained glass windows. We were seated immediately by our server Flossy who also had very good recommendations on what to order. I followed those recommendations and got the Crab Cakes and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My friend ordered the Seafood Pesto. I loved the Crab Cakes, it went well with the mango sauce and it was a very lump meat crab cake. Might be one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The key lime cheesecake was very fluffy, airy, with the perfect balance of sweet and citrus. The seafood pesto was just OK in my opinion. I did like the food for the most part. However, the portions are a little on the small side. If it weren't for dessert and Flossy giving me a second dinner roll (another point for service!) I think I would've left still hungry. To be fair, I am considered a big eater and I came in starving. There were a few other questionable choices that prevent me from fully recommending this place. Some may consider the dining room cozy, I found it cramped, especially as it started to fill up with other customers. So this place is likely not going to work with a big party even if it's half full. We were a little surprised when trying to find the restroom too. We were handed a key, and had to go outside and in their back alley on a little treasure hunt to find a door labeled "Locked door". When ordering dessert, I was surprised the dessert menu did not list any prices even though their main menu did. Kind of obnoxious and pretentious if you ask me, but Flossy mentioned they were all $18 and big enough to share. That brings me one other point: pricing. I loved the food, but felt each menu item was twice the price that was appropriate for the portion. All in all, Freda's cafe has good food and great service. But it's held back by portion sizes, pricing, and a few other weird issues.

They were really gracious and service was perfect. The byob element I personally love (bring what you want and pay normal rates for it) but I could see how this could be problematic for vacationers not prepared. The glassware was beautiful - one of my pics shows it. The atmosphere is very pleasant - a little romantic, a little modern but all in all perfect for an anniversary dinner - we had a corner table with bench seating so we could snuggle :) We chose three apps because it was early and we thought we'd hit another place late. These two are the duck wings and the crispy shrimp. Both delicious but the wings VERY good. We also had a swordfish crostini done on a crispy won ton and we both liked that very much. Pricing seemed reasonable. I'd recommend.

We had some ordering confusion which impacted my experience a bit. Overall the appetizers far out performed the seafood, which given were at the beach, was a bit sad. The wings were tasty. The stand out was the K&B salad which had great dressing. Loved the hot/cold contrast between the flash fried Brussels and the kale salad. I had the scallops- average and with quite a bit of grit. The carrots it came with seemed boiled and again relatively flavorless. My husband had the sea bass but unless you got some of the very minimal sauce it was plated with, it was fairly bland. I didn't even sense salt and pepper. For the price point, I wouldn't rush back for dinner but might try another meal.

We started with the scallops with risotto as an appetizer. I'm not a huge fan of scallops, but my wife really enjoys them, and she thought they were excellent. We ordered calamari to share as well as the Double Smash Burger, Lobster Roll, and the Blackened Salmon Po Boy. We all enjoyed our food. I typically order the Crab Cake Tacos and I regret not ordering them. The Lobster Roll was tasty but I do not enjoy the lobster salad being chopped up small as it was. It wasn't a traditional Lobster Roll preparation and I didn't realize it was $29. I regretted my selection.

Always made sure our coffee and water stayed filled. I ordered the banana french toast. Although it did not come with a side it was quite filling (though if you have a larger appetite I'd order one). George's special was exactly as described. The hashbrowns stole the show. Pancakes were a little underwhelming in our opinion. Would order something else if we came again.

They have a solid menu with a variety of breakfast dishes including different omelets. I usually get the Jackie O with spinach, tomatoes, and feta although this time I got the Jive Turkey with turkey sausage and dill havarti. It was a little on the dry side. However, they do give you an option of cherry tomatoes in place of potatoes on the side. I also love the choice of bread including sour dough. My husband's banana French toast tasted delicious with the cinnamon and bananas. Be advised, they only have whole milk, so if you like almond or oat milk with your coffee, you're out of luck. Also, there was no stevia. Please note they are cash only too.

The venue is super cool, in terms of is grandeur and history, and different dining areas between the various outdoor spaces, bar, and dining room. We visited in October when it was decorated for Halloween, which was a nice added touch. For such a HUGE restaurant churning out tons of food, I was really impressed by the quality of the food. I ordered the scallops as my entree and they really were stellar. No notes. Absolutely delicious. We also shared a bunch of sides and apps, and all were pretty good (though outshone by the scallops). I will note that the prices were quite high, though, so be aware of that going in and don't get sticker shock. Where things were lacking mostly came down to service. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait a bit and ended up seated right by the kitchen. It took our server a long time to take our orders, and he didn't write anything down for our big group of ten and ended up forgetting multiple peoples' drinks, leaving them waiting for a while. It was a struggle to get water refills and just took a really long time to get anything. But, it was a busy Saturday night in a--as mentioned--really large restaurant. Even with these complaints, the food was so good that I would go back.

Tucked in one of Cape May's leading landmarks, the renovated 1879 Congress Hall Hotel, we decided on dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern, which derives from a gambling parlor in the mid-1800s. A reservation was easily made via Open Table. Upon arrival as first timers, my partner and I were greeted at the host station and got our cozy table in a large glassed-in patio area. The restaurant was lively and welcoming. It was clearly a family-friendly spot, which showed in the higher noise level and the number of tables filled with multigenerational groups. Their menu is New American, from filet mignon and shrimp cocktail to legendary burgers, including the Beach Plum Farm Burger. They get a lot of its produce from its own nearby farm. As an appetizer, we decided on the Crispy Calamari and Baked Mac and Cheese. Our entree consisted of Rigatoni Bolognese and Chicken Pot Pie. Complimentary warm bread sprinkled with salt and chives accompanied by soft honey butter started our meal. Every dish hit the mark: flavorful, fresh, and well-executed. The portions were generous. Despite being very busy, the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and especially helpful; our server was Eugene. Overall, this establishment delivered a memorable dining experience.
