A Down the Shore staple! Uncle Bill's is always a great spot for breakfast. They also have a great lunch menu and you can order from either. I came here with friends and we were seated right away. The service was quick and I ordered the special plate, which comes with 3 pancakes, egg any style, and choice of bacon or sausage. I liked that they let you get chocolate chip pancakes with this deal. The pancakes were so good! I love a thin pancake and there were tons of chocolate chips. I love this location because it's right on the beach and near the Cape May mall. Definitely a cute beach diner to check out on your vacation! read more

There's nothing special about this place. It's just classic diner, however, I feel like it's more fast paced. You can tell the orange juice is freshly squeezed but it's super expensive. The apple pancakes and jersey shore omelet were okay. Nothing to write to home about. I'd personally skip this place if you're on vacation. read more

Dear Yelp, Was in the area and knew we had to have breakfast here. It was a short walk from our hotel. Service and staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. My gluten free waffle was DELICIOUS and the syrup it came with was divine. I enjoyed a side of bacon well done. Coffee was ok. I loved the many windows in the restaurant. It was a great breakfast! OK, so they can't make the egg cream, regular chocolate milk, and she forgot the straws twice. At this one, the steak and eggs the eggs were good, but the steak was out of this world. I've never had steak and eggs with a small steak that tastes good. Then a blueberry waffles are awesome. read more

Had to come to Uncle Bill's after many recommendations! It did not disappoint! Party of 5 went on a Saturday morning around 10 and while it looked packed, we were seated right away and food came out quickly. Wesley was a great server and it was so sweet to know that he grew up going there since his mom was a server when he was little. Great kid! The food was good but the pancakes were delicious! Our table tried the Oreo, strawberry, and apple pancakes and they were all great. The apple and strawberry ones get folded into a triangle like shaped and are stuffed and topped with fruit while the Oreo were cooked like regular pancakes. The syrup is from Canada and it was VERY good. The orange juice was DELICIOUS.. fresh and not too sweet. I could go for another right now! The diner has indoor and outdoor seating and it's a cute local diner feel with lots of tables. It was pretty loud because of how busy they were but not unbearable and we could still enjoy conversation. read more

Came here for Mother's Day around 12:30pm. We got sat right away. They had a gluten free menu which was awesome! Ordered the gluten free pancakes and my mom got the regular pancakes. Breakfast came quick. We were in and out in less than an hour. Place was clean and I loved that they sat us by the window. read more

My friends and I had the opportunity to eat at Uncle Bill's this morning and it definitely lived up to the hype. There were 8 of us, but we only waited about 15 min which was surprising because of how busy it was. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and quick to correct any mistakes. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes ($10.50) with a side of home fries ($4.50) and mmm mmm mmm it was so good. The whipped butter with the fluffy, chocolate filled pancakes really hit the spot. I'm also a huge fan of home fries and these were exactly the salty crunch I needed to pair well with the pancakes. My friends also said that the cold brew was pretty good! We were in and out quickly because of how fast we ate/how good it was. It's also a cute little cozy diner scene. Definitely recommend. read more

I really wish I would have loved Uncle Bill's, but unfortunately our experience here seemed to only prove that certain spots in Cape May are way overhyped. The hostess was very sweet and offered us counter availability since the wait for a table was going to be closer to an hour. The wait for a server was probably around 15 minutes, but once a server did notice us, she was incredibly attentive and checked in on us a few times before and after we received our food. My husband ordered the Peach Pancakes and I ordered the M&M Pancakes, both with a side of bacon. The only plus side to the breakfast was probably the bacon, if I'm being honest. My husband felt that the peach was way too overpowering and that the compote on top was more of a thick jam consistency, which made it so that he didn't even feel as though he was eating pancakes -- just all peach. For me, I really couldn't get over how underdone the pancakes tasted. They were so incredibly doughy that it just felt like I was eating barely cooked pancake batter. The only other comment I want to make is about how incredibly overcrowded the place can be. I've lived in New York & New Jersey my whole life, so I understand busy diners and breakfast spots are just a staple of life sometimes. That being said, I've never been forcibly shoved or had my body & my chair moved completely by customers trying to get past simply because there's absolutely no room. I think there's a difference between a crowded restaurant and overpacking people in like sardines in order to make the most money you can. I wouldn't say don't come here (everyone's breakfast preferences are different), but I probably wouldn't come back myself. read more

The place to go for Breakfast in Cape May, New Jersey. The food is plentiful, staff is attentive and friendly. Always busy, especially on weekends, so for bigger parties, expect a wait. But it is worth it. Only open from 6.30am - 2.00pm daily. read more

definitely one of the better places to eat in the wildwood area! it's a little touristy but the food is good. the menu is extremely centered around breakfast foods and sweet ones at that (pancakes, french toast, etc). don't expect to grab a lunch item here or set your bar very low. for being so crowded service was pretty good and the coffee refills came steadily. of course the pancakes are delicious. thin, soft, tender. perfect when smothered with butter and syrup. def a staple we'll come back to next time we are down the shore! read more

Massive selection of pancakes. We ordered the blueberry pancakes and found them to be delicious. We also ordered the ham steak and potato pancakes. The menu should say "potatoes that look like a pancake". Definitely not genuine German potato pancakes. The service was very good. Stick with eggs and pancakes or French toast. Average price/value relationship. read more

If you are an early riser, this is one of the best spots to grab a quick breakfast before starting your day. Quiet morning outdoor dining!

It's a decent spot if you want a gluten free breakfast that also has a lot of non gluten free options for others. It's not the most robust GF menu but it's there. I was happy enough with what they offered after a long walk around town. Our server was attentive and sweet which is all you can hope for first thing in the morning. The food was good and portion sizes were pretty large. I have Celiac and I wouldn't say that it's GF safe for everyone or for very sensitive Celiacs but I didn't experience any issues. Presentation of my waffles was so great and they didn't skimp when I ordered extra whip. We will definitely go back when we are back in town. P.s. we went in the off season and since this is one of very few good breakfast spots, it got pretty busy pretty quick. read more

Uncle Bill's is a chain with 7 locations in Jersey shore towns. It's a touristy spot. I've had much better breakfasts at hometown diners and other mom/pop shoretown diners. This place fed us, but unfortunately has nothing I can really recommend. It has a good size parking lot for a busy area that charges almost everywhere for parking. We were lucky to get a spot. It's always going to be crowded in here, so keep that in mind too. Our server was friendly and did a great job. She made a nice looking hot chocolate with whipped cream. Coffee was very weak. Huge disappointment. My little hotel room machine makes stronger coffee. I expected more out of the blueberry pancakes breakfast. It was a few fluffy pancakes stuffed with some blueberries. This dish could've been so much more if it had even just a sprinkling of fresh blueberries, which are in peak season now in the area. I ordered a side of strawberries with one of the waffle dishes and we got a scooping of the sugary canned strawberries they use for filling pancakes...for $5. The pancakes are fluffy here, but nobody was wow'd by their breakfasts to make us want to return. read more

This local beach chain was a new find for me and I am SO glad I found it. The cutest old school looking beachy diner, there's even a little bar area that we sat at that was super cute. And GREAT food. And because of the name, I just had to try the pancakes and they were perfection. The perfect amount of fluffiness and still thin enough to be able to eat them all! The staff was super friendly even with it being so packed with people, I'd go back for sure!! read more

Classic breakfast spot. Large menu with something for everyone. Good prices. Good service. Came here twice for breakfast during our trip. We decided to go to uncle bills pancake house and unfortunately a staff member harassed us from the moment we entered because of obvious reasons...our head scarves. We walked in and we were meeting family and when I asked to be seated a staff member with black hair and blue/green eyes gave me an attitude and said "who in here would be your family" in disgust. I tried my best to ignore her but I seen my family members and we sat and ate. Waitress and food was great so no complaints there. The worst part is when we left. We began walking while my husband moved the car and the same woman chased us out of the restaurant telling us that we shouldn't leave our car in the parking lot and that we're blocking staff members. Our car was in a legal parking spot in the parking lot and we moved it down the street when we were done. When I responded to her and told her that my husband was moving the car she looked at me like I was crazy and said ok because someone is blocking the car. I told her it's not us and we're leaving now goodbye. Please to the resturant owners train your staff better and teach them to accept all colors and differences. Yes we stood out but we didn't have any issues with anyone treating us with kindness. read more

i'm a self proclaimed eggs benedict connoisseur. Unfortunately that makes me a tough critic. I would not come back for the eggs benedict but it was silly of me to order that at a pancake house!! my boyfriend got the pigs in a blanket and it was amazing. Absolutely delicious and iconic diner-style breakfast down the shore. My daughter requested it twice during our vacation. Service is FAST.

I've had pancakes up and down the East Coast and I will stand on this to this day that Uncle Bill's truly does have the best tasting pancakes I've ever had. I see a lot of people that aren't from here upset about the pricing, but for the area, this is what it is. I can never come to the shore without stopping here. read more

This is a great place to get breakfast on Cape May. If you sit outside, you will get a nice view of the street and part of the beach. The service here is like clockwork. The restaraunt was very full and its impressive how fast the service here. Finally, the food - I really liked it and thought it was high quality. I had the pancakes, sausage and pouched egg. In terms of price, it was affordable and of great value. Only thing I will say is if you sit outside, beware of seagulls and don't leave your food unattended. read more

I dont think that there could ever be anything negative for me to say about Uncle Bills! Whether here for breakfast or lunch, service is always pleasant and quick, even on their busiest days we have always been seated quickly, and the view of the beach just adds to the casual cozy diner feel. This time around I, of course, enjoyed a classic cup of coffee and had their special, which was a reuban eggs benedict that was served with home fries. Hubby had their other special of pumpkin pancakes, which he devoured. Was a perfect savory breakfast for a chilly fall morning! This place has good food, good service, and is extremely timely with seating/serving your food. Everything was good except for the flies that are rampant in the building. I guess they can't control it but it was so annoying and hard to enjoy the meal while getting your food bit and body bit by flies. I was also kind of bummed about them giving the smallest serving of almond milk for their coffee but they had heavy cream packets on the table. I'd come back to this place for sure though! read more
