The vibes here are just impeccable !!!! Words cannot do the grounds justice. It's just a gorgeous oasis of florals and greenery. There's a cafe so you can enjoy a coffee and a meal while taking everything in. There's also a shop that sells the cutest food and giftables. This would be an amazing spot for a wedding, and they were setting up for one when we dropped by. They also have other fun events like price fixe dinners and even a small inn that you can stay at. The food was just okkkk. I had a BLT, the bread was extremely soft and mushy and because the slices of bacon and tomato were so thick it was very hard to take a bite of the sandwich. It did taste yummy deconstructed though! My friends really liked their egg sammies though! Overall, this is a must visit when in Cape May! It's something really cool and different to do.

We didn't have anything to eat here but I wanted to leave them a review anyway. This place is so stinking cute! The farm store has so much to offer from local food products to candles to decor. You can probably find something for everyone here. The garden was still there but didn't have much going on as it was the cold season already. From a quick glance, I don't think they had anything gluten free in their kitchen so I didn't bother investigating more.

This is such a gorgeous farm with a spacious property around it that invites exploration. The farm-to-table food was fantastic. We tried the breakfast sandwich, green salad, and lemonade and everything was delicious. They also have a little shop where they sell home made foods and home goods. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Ofc extra brownie points for the dog-friendly outdoor tables

Farm-to-table perfection at Beach Plum Farm. We had the joy of attending the Summer Harvest Dinner, and it exceeded every expectation. The vibe was relaxed, the setting was beautiful, and the attention to detail from presentation to plating was exceptional. The Bolero carrots with ricotta and hot honey were unexpectedly bold and delicious, and the Carolina Gold rack of pork was cooked to perfection tender, flavorful, and paired with greens and slaw that brought it all home. One of the true highlights was Ed, the owner, who gave a heartfelt and hilarious welcome speech. He was incredibly approachable, and his energy made the entire evening feel personal. The head chef, a former merchant marine, was equally engaging down-to-earth and clearly passionate about his work. And yes, we were lucky enough to catch peak strawberry season. The strawberries & cream puff pastry was light, fresh, and the perfect sweet ending to a truly memorable meal. If you're looking for more than just a great dinner something immersive, soulful, and unforgettable this is it

We came here for breakfast Just so lovely on a beautiful morning. Had iced coffee and a egg sandwich which was cooked perfectly on a brioche roll You order your food and they deliver it to your picnic table. Took maybe 5 minutes Great for kids to visit the farm area.

When I was planning my trip to Cape May, I received recommendations from several people to check out Beach Plum Farm. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a farm person - but this didn't seem like a typical farm. That being said, I made plans to check it out after breakfast. BPF is located in West Cape May - even though CM is pretty walkable, it's best to drive here as the farm is located off gravel roads which are not pedestrian friendly. The farm itself is spread out over several acres - there's a lot of intricately designed foliage, as well as some greenhouses and even a few roosters walking about; the grounds are lovely. The heart of the farm, however, is a building that sits in the middle of the foliage - it's in here that you'll find merchandise as well as a small eatery. They have a good selection of items for purchase - pretty much what one would expect at a farm stand or general store. Some produce, meats, a few baked goods, jams and jellies, and some souvenirs. The eatery's menu, Beach Plum Farm Kitchen, has an ever changing menu and serves light breakfast and lunch items. You can take the food to go or sit at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy. It was raining when I went so I don't feel I got the best of BFC, but I really enjoyed my time here despite the lousy weather. It's definitely worth a trip over to West Cape May to check out.

So I have mixed feeling with writing this review as I love coming here all year round. The relaxing atmosphere is wonderful. Love the gardens, fire pit on cooler days, fabulous dinner events in the barn and the store. The teas are so great. What has disappointed me over several years is how they changed the menu offering less and no gluten free as before. The food has been disappointing and expensive. 5 star for everything but the food is a 3.

the sriracha mayo that was not in face sriracha mayo - it is premade hellmans chipotle mayo sauce

Really sad to see this place as compared to years ago. The experience is not the same. You used to be able to walk back to the farm and visit all the animals - no more. Food used to be delicious, homemade, and accommodating for people with food allergies. Today, we ordered 2 orders of fried potatoes and two coffees for a total of $28. We clearly announced our dairy allergy and inquired about the food. Upon sitting, we realized the mayo (last year, it was a homemade pepper jam and real, fresh potatoes not from a bag) was not a siracha mayo as described (one would think sriracha mixed with mayo). It is a jarred premade chipotle mayo that contains buttermilk and is not friendly for people with dairy allergies. While I appreciate the staff looking into the ingredients for us, it was very disappointing, especially since it was labeled as sriracha mayo, plus when we then also had to pay an additional $10 for an order of fried potatoes without the buttermilk chipotle sauce. Overall, very disappointing, we paid $38 for one order of potatoes and two coffees. Sadly striking this from our list of must-visit Cape May locales.

Kale and goat cheese quiche

Fresh, fun, farmtastic! Love visiting family run establishments and this one was just a piece of heaven. The land was beautifully kept, with little gardens all around and fresh florals and herbs everywhere you look. Fire pits and loads of seating options. Inside the market you can order food and drinks or pick up one of a number farm grown or local goodies. Food, treats, sauces, jams, honey, books, flowers, stuffies the etc. Friendly staff, and they were kind enough to start up a fire pit when we arrived due to the colder temperatures that morning. We grabbed the kale goat cheese quiche which was YUM! You could taste the freshness of the roasted kale, and the fluffiness of the eggs delish! It was paired with a mixed green side and oil and vinegar We also ordered the carrot coconut soup to go, which I had the next day and it was so fresh and clean tasting. Just natural sweetness of the carrot no added flavor necessary. And just a bright gorgeous orange. The kiddos had a chance to visit the three new piglets and feed some chickens but no other animals at the time we visited. Would absolutely visit again, fresh food, wonderful grounds and ample seating.

WEST CAPE MAY: Beach Plum Farm is a gorgeous farm that grows their own produce and herbs and feels like a little slice of heaven being amongst the garden and trees. Leashed dogs are allowed at the outdoor property and Brie loved walking through the grass and sniffing everything she could find. There is an outdoor kitchen to get a sandwich and drink and then dine picnic table style in the serene environment. There is also an indoor market that sells the fresh produce, local products, and a great place to find a gift. The business manager on Yelp says dogs are allowed inside, but please check before you enter. There are chickens on the property, so use caution when exploring.

We came by for breakfast. Their menu is small and not all breakfast which is fine. I'm sure most everything is self-sourced and it is fresh. You order from a window out back and because it was a chilly November day, eat in a covered building a short walk away. During warm months, there are plenty of picnic tables outside to enjoy the air and sun. My husband had their egg sandwich with pork roll and an egg salad sandwich. I had an egg salad sandwich and a side of bacon. The meats and bread were very tasty. I'm thinking because of the natural, and farm-to-table nature of the operation, emphasis was not supposed to be made on seasonings and additives, which was fine. Items were fresh and that had a charm of their own. Was it the best thing we ever ate? No, not really. Was it an experience we were happy to have had? Absolutely! Think: unassuming farm, fresh, self-grown and natural and your mind will be set in the right direction. And do stroll around the grounds and visit the market in the barn. It is a lovely, peaceful place without commercial overtones. I love it!

Jars of flowers you can buy

This place is a gem! There is plenty of parking with overflow parking. The chickens greet you in the parking lot and you can feed them. There is a small farmers market with merchandise to sell. You can even buy small jars of the freshly picked flowers. Out the back door and before you go in the front door you are greeted with gardens. Herbs in front. Flowers and vegetables out back. There is a small carry out restaurant with sandwiches and lemonade or tea to drink. We really enjoyed the BLT and the chicken salad. You can have events there or stay in some of their cottages. A cute place you should check out if you are in the area.

The converted barn.

My husband & I rented the barn at Beach Tree Farm in early April, 2025. The hospitality of the staff was so welcoming. The barn was equipped with bacon, bread, jam, orange juice & all of the makings for morning coffee. We had access to bikes & a golf cart which could be driven into the downtown. There was a fire pit with extra logs, a charming screened in porch & a grill should you be so inclined. The barn had 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms as well as laundry facilities. We had such a relaxing experience & are planning a return trip!

Ask the Community - Beach Plum Farm

Do we need a reservation for lunch? We are a party of four and will be visiting on Saturday May 9th. 12:30 would be perfect

I did not make a reservation for lunch! I went on a Friday afternoon in April and ordered at the counter for lunch. There were plenty of tables to sit outside, and the food was brought to us at our table.

Is there a dog friendly outdoor area?

We love well-behaved, socialized dogs at Beach Plum Farm, they are even allowed in the Farm Market but please make sure to keep them on their leashes.… Read more

Is this place open year round for breakfast/lunch? Or just dinners in the off season? Thanks!

Yelp Mad Batter…read morereally impressed me. There we were, in Cape May on Thanksgiving Saturday looking for parking nearby. After finally finding a space, we walked up to Mad Batter, where there were already a number of people standing outside. We were a party of seven, so this wasn't looking good for us. Well, we had a Thanksgiving miracle. They had a table ready for us in less that ten minutes! The food and service here were both very good. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was very mild in flavor but still good. I recommend it, but I'll try some of their other offerings before I get it again. My sister-in-law had one of the specials, the Fried Tomato & Cracked Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. She and my brother agreed that it was messy but delicious. The lobster mayo set it off nicely. Our server was really friendly and accommodating. She made sure we were taken well care of. We pointed out an error in the check, and she was very kind in taking care of it, and gave no attitude. If you can find parking, this place is worth coming to!

The worse possible service ever! TO THE OWNER: Please…read moreremind all waitstaff to ask customers about any allergies before serving food, to ensure their safety and prevent any potential harm. I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it! Or at the very least ask the customers if they have any allergies beforehand

So we went early (no problem being seated around 5:30 or so, but it did seem full an hour later) and were we ever rewarded. Everything was simply perfect, including Vicki, our veteran and down to earth waiter. When we are unsure of things, she provided expert guidance with kindness and wisdom. The mussels appetizer are an experience not to be missed - save the bread for lapping up its saucy juice. My wife loved the pork chop - its huge and she took half home for lunch. I devoured the blackened fish of the day over bok choy. Both simply were outstanding. If/when again in Cape May again, we'd certainly come back. With a reservation!

Second night, round two: I love a good turkey club but I would've willingly sold my right pinky for one this good. I nearly had to unhinge my jaw to bite into this beast. I again met my match and had to take half of it to-go. Did I have it later that night? No! I popped open that tray for a breakfast club the next morning and the flavour never missed a beat.
