I had a fish dish. When it was served it had the head and tail there and I had to dig thru the bones. I think it should be on the menu or let the server know it is the entire dish. Very disappointed and went home hungry. 2 out of 4 of us got the dish. My friend felt the same way. My other 2 friends really enjoyed their meals. Server was exceptional. What an awesome spot. The place itself is beautiful. You are overlooking the ocean. Cant beat the location. And the ambiance and decor is spectacular. The food was great as well. The menu is large enough to satisfy all your needs from fish to meats. We started off with the raw bar and then I ordered the steak tips and the wife ordered the swordfish. It was my first time coming to pier 52, I heard so many good things about it, but my experience was not that! I came with my mother and sister and the service off hand was a little weird(just to give you a little insight we did make a reservation) we got here and they lady claimed there was no tables available during our time which was fine so we waited and found a seat close to the water(which was first come first serve) it took a while for the waitress to attend to us which was fine because the view was breathtaking. when the waitress did finally attend to us, he was such in a rush to take our orders and didn't give us enough time to review the menu . When we placed are orders he then snatched the menu away from my mother after she didn't hear him say I'll be back, not only that he kept forgetting things like are utensils and extra plates, water etc it felt like we had to annoy him enough for him to bring the main utensils we needed to enjoy the meal with. He didn't even check on us and asked how the food was or anything. We had to keep waving him down in order for him to pay us any mind attention. We were very understandable because some people don't work well under pressure, but unfortunately, his attitude was very off putting. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I keep my boat at the marina next door. The food is pretty good, but did not have a great experience otherwise. We were seated pretty quickly. When our server arrived, she had zero personality...all business..which was ok. I don't expect everyone to be "on" at all times, but it is a nicer restaurant and you expect some level of hospitality. We put in our drink order immediately and looked over the menu. After a bit the server returned and said the bar was backed up and asked if we wanted to put in for any starters. We got the raw bar platter and octopus. She retired shortly after with the drinks, one of which was incorrect(vodka rocks with olives, it had a lime). She realized when she was putting it down and returned with the olives...which I appreciate, but the olives and lime combination is a bit rough. we put in our entree order..nothing heavy, just a sandwich and chicken caesar salad. The raw bar platter and octopus arrived...the octopus was decent, but the raw bar was just ok...shrimp was good, but we had to re-shuck all the shellfish. Within 2 minutes of the appetizer being served, the entrees showed up...I honestly had no idea where this was going to fit on the table. The server just looked at us and said, "I'll wait". By this point, I had my fill..of the establishment, not necessarily the food. When the bill came, I attempted to pay the bill with cash and was then told they are cashless and must pay with a card. Again, not a big deal, but at times I carry just a money clip with cash and don't carry cards...fortunately, this wasn't one of those times. It wasn't that any one horrible thing happened, it was more "death by 1000 papercuts" situation....may try again, but it will be a while. read more

We got a good seat quickly on Sunday night. Amanda,our server was amazing. The service was a little to good as our calamari (very good) came before our drinks. Great location although very sunny and the umbrella didn't help much. I ordered an apricot salad that had NO apricots. When I asked the waitress she said they had been out a few weeks ago and couldn't see it but hadn't heard anything today. She asked the kitchen and they told her they were out and substituted strawberries. That would have been fine if the had told me and it cost $15. Didn't give us any money off the bill. I really enjoy waterview restaurants and Pier 52 is one of the best I've ever been to because of the different options you have dining wise, as you can sit at the bar, dining area, outdoor tables or outdoor on the chairs directly on the grass by the water. I sat by the bar and was still close by the water. The ambiance at this place is great and you feel like you're in Martha's Vineyard or a more upscale restaurant. The service was great even though the waitress did forget a few things, but apologized for it. Everything I ate was so good, especially the shrimp tempura. This was my first time at Pier 52 and, I will NOT be going back. The food and drinks are extremely over priced for the amount and quality given. Also, the servers and cooks did not comprehend steak temps as I ordered my ribeye steak "blue" and, my mother ordered her steak tips "rare". When the food came out to the table the server reported that there is "no such thing as blue for a temp". My steak ended up being medium-rare and my mother's steak tips, were well done and tougher than leather. To make matters even worse, half of my steak was pure fat and gristle that should have been rendered off during any temperature cook. If you enjoy food that is not what you ordered or even described on the menu, as my meal was not reported to be extra spicy, then this may be the place for you. The only redeeming quality of my visit was the live entertainment of "Rock Fish", he was amazing. read more

Both were good, priced on the high side comparatively for Fall River standards. Unfortunately one bartender had to take care of the entire bar herself. Can't blame her most of the time we had to flag her down for refills. In the 2 hours we were there the other bartender never moved from her service end of the bar. Talked it up all night with a guy who parked himself in front of her. Parking can be horrendous in this area. We got the last parking spot in the lot. Music blaring loud so you couldn't even have a convo. 2 drinks and 2 salads with the cover and I'm at nearly $100. No offense to our server we started with over priced drinks and appetizer got calamari looked like they use the same fry basket for everything found little pieces of different things mixed in the calamari. Next we ordered the 14 ounce steak tip dish five steak tips is far from 14 ounces and the garlic mashed potatoes were lumpy and no flavor. My wife got the chicken pasta dish she had two bites and sent it back pasta was over cooked and dry for a cream sauce and chicken looked like something from a salad bar instead of fresh grilled chicken. I really don't understand all the positive reviews here. We've dined here a few times (I never ever ever judge a place on one bad or good experience), but every single time this place has been an unmitigated nightmare. Constantly out of everything, unable to make a simple salad because they don't have lettuce, bad service and just a complete mess. It has the nicest seating in Fall River, with a nice view of Mount Hope Bay, but man. Went out a few weeks ago for my moms 75th birthday and they were out of every appetizer we requested, cooked my moms steak to a much colder temperature than she requested, failed to throw it back on the grill until after everyone else had completed their meal, and brought out the cake we brought her (as a surprise) only after we requested they do so from our waitress and the manager. Also, they didn't cut the cake, told us to do it ourselves, and gave us a god damn spatula to do so. In addition to having to beg for place settings and small plates, what a nightmare of a birthday dinner. Bonus: our waitress ghosted us at the end, we settled up with a different server and got accused publicly by the manager of not paying our bill. Stay as far away as possible. Bring a picnic to Colt State Park instead. At least you'll get what you wanted. One positive thing though: drinks are good and the taps for beer are clean - no easy feat for an outdoor restaurant. This hidden gem in Fall River is absolutely stunning. With views like this and delicious food, it has become my new favorite spot. Recommend the sushi, and the surf and turf is always my favorite dish. Perfect date night spot, or a night out with the girls! Very nice atmosphere except for the pot of the bar that faces all the mills. Menu with soso. Food was so-so. Very young hostess. On the 4th of July there were tables sitting empty for an hour and a half waiting for the reservations. We were there at 5:30 where they were four tables open waiting for reservations at 6:15 6:30 and 7:00 crazy. People sitting at the bar for like 40 45 minutes with no drinks no food in front of them waiting to see the fireworks. read more
