It's the Belmont! Historical bar in Fall River. Love the character of the place. Both bar tenders were kind, and attentive to the guests. Was able to get a custom drink after sharing some types of drinks I like and it was great! Not too busy the night at went, usually it's the last stop before a night out as it's opened pretty late. The first time we've been here. The drinks are good and the bartender was pretty chill. The place just seem a bit too small.

Was visiting Fall River and stopped in for a drink. It's the oldest bar in Fall River, they started it in the 1930s which is really cool. Big long bar area and other seating. We went on a Monday night and it was pretty dead but the bar tender was super nice and talked about the history of the place. She said it does get pretty packed on Friday and Saturday cause they are open till 2am. They had a couple TVs so you could watch sports. The inside is cool cause some of the stuff inside is original. If I had the option to give 0 stars I would. The short brunette bartender was not professional at all. Upon entry she didn't greet me or my friends, tell us her name or ask for our order. She shouted "last call" at us before we could even sit. Last call is understandable, we get it. But there was no need for the attitude she gave all of us. I've never been inside, so I can't comment on the food, drinks, or service. But I live in the neighborhood-this bar closes at 2 on weekends (according to yelp anyways), but the party continues late into the night frequently. The weekends I almost understand, but it'll be a random Tuesday night or something, and the crowds are outside blasting music at 2,3 am. I have been here twice for some late night drinks . When it great crowded it does get a little noisy and even if it's busy and short staffed . They are very quick with the drinks. Every mixed drink they gave me was made perfectly . The bartender here are super friendly and knowledgeable on there drinks. Cool A historic landmark. A bar that exists in a house. You can miss it easily. Very laid back atmosphere serving great drinks with a little old school lip. This place turns up some odd characters. That probably goes without saying in plucky, hard-scrabble Fall River but there is a hint of something slightly peculiar awaft in the Belmont. Keep your head on a swivel, perhaps rip a toot of white whistler to get in the off-key vibe of the room because there are some sketchy cats milling around this joint who either want to pick your pocket, take you into a back alley and shuffle your deck or even cook you up a brain scramble omelet. If this is the type of scene you're into, go ahead and consider this a 5 star review...otherwise, maybe stay across the street at the St. James where people are more likely to adhere to their med regimen. The Belmont Club is in the historic John Young House and host open blues on Monday and acoustic open night on Thursday. They are easy to miss as they have little or no signage. When you walk in the front door you are greeted by a large bar and the sound of surprisingly talented musicians playing at comfortable listening levels. The venue is relaxed with cozy seating as you may expect with it being a historic house. We discovered the Belmont Club on a Dining Stroll where the owner was serving ice cream and chatting with the customers. Clean, welcoming, updated and fun. All words you would never use to describe the Belmont. You go here when every other bar closes at 1 and it's the only place still open to keep drinking. It's inside of an old house from the 1900s, and that's the last time they changed the interior. It's a dive bar, but not in the cool "let's just go here and just get hammered" kind of way. I always come here when I'm in the city visiting my friends and family who refuse to leave Fall River for whatever reason. It's such a cool atmosphere with couches and a fireplace. The employees are welcoming and the drinks are great. They don't serve good but you are free to order takeout and have an awesome time with friends. This is your local dive bar that is up and coming but is being held back by a few things. The bar itself is clean and very comfortable and when there is live music its always good and a great time. The drinks are well made and very inexpensive for what you get. The downsides come in with the turnover of the staff, the lack of food and the regulars. There are several regulars that just give me the creeps and if the tweekers show up its very uncomfortable. I think if you are looking for a place to relax and drink in the dump that is Fall River, this is the best place for you. When my friends moved down here. This was the only place we felt comfortable going to. All the reviews about creepers, well that is fall river. That is why this place is best. 3 rooms. If someone creepy is at the bar, move to the piano lounge. Done. Nothing much for food but great bartenders and great atmosphere. read more

Went to the Belmont Club last night. The interior has been freshly painted. Antique colors replace the cold morbidly black walls of the past. A warm welcoming feel as you walk in, We sat in the 4 leatherback chairs by the fireplace. Conversation over cocktails centered around the changes. The memories of old are blended throughout the rooms. Changed was the Jukebox, for a modern Juke, in the same spot. The back room is now a dining area dotted with coppertop tables. Told the lunch menu will be available shortly. The front room is a cozy escape from the bar, the original 1930's wooden bar is also in the front room, providing additional seating. There is a tin-cut hanging lamp at the entrance to the backroom, where a television once was. The lighted tin light cascades beautiful reflections on the freshly painted walls and ceiling. Service was stellar, although only drinks, we were met with smiles, pampered with attention and lively conversation. You will not be disappointed, rather, be inspired by an 80 year old family business. read more
