This restaurant has delicious Portuguese food in a casual setting . This charming spot is special. The food reminded me of my grandmother cooking. They only have beer and wine. My new favorite Portuguese restaurant. Not sure how I missed this place over the years but so glad that I found them. Small parking lot. Otherwise street parking w a meter except on Sundays. Smallish and so cute inside. Excellent service. Portuguese bread w butter to start. Wine and beer available. You can call ahead for reservations. They have specials. I had the paelha dish. Found this amazing Portuguese restaurant located on North Main Street in Fall River. What a hidden gem! To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. I was looking for a quick place to grab takeout and saw this place on Yelp. Although it didn't have many reviews it did average 4 1/2 stars so I thought why not? Came here for lunch a few months ago when I was in town with 2 of my friends. We had heard that Fall River had a large Portuguese population, so were curious as to what there was to offer in town, and we came across this place via Yelp. You needed to reserve a table ahead of time, due to covid restrictions, so we ended up getting our lunches to go. My friends were curious about trying out their bacalao, but that requires an order ahead of time as it takes more than a couple of days to prepare. There are a few very affordable lunch options, which we all decided to order off of. I got their bife a portuguesa, which was a Portuguese steak with an egg, over white rice and French fries. I also decided to get a cup of their soup of the day, which was a kale soup. The soup was pretty good, and the food was decent. A bit on the heavy and bland side, but it'll definitely fill your stomach up for cheap. It looks like this place has been around for quite some time with a loyal following, for what that's worth as well. read more

The food is so delicious and cooked to order so you wait a little bit for your food but it's so worth it my steak was melting in my mouth the sauce was soooo good. My boyfriend has allergies and they are very good with him we go there whenever we can they are very nice . This is a very good, authentic Portuguese restaurant. My husband is from the Azores and is very picky when it comes to Azorean food. I had the shrimp Mozambique appetizer, which was good, not great. The sauce wasn't as flavorful (lacking in garlic, for sure) as I've had at other restaurants or my husband's version; it was also thicker, which I'm certainly not used to. My husband's fried sardines (though the waitress said they were smelts) were good, but a touch salty; the sauce that came with them was quite tasty. Our main dishes were very good: my husband's of Fish Dourados (fillets, with a side of sauce) and my steak Azoreana (creamy garlic sauce on a strip steak, with Portuguese round, fried eggs and potatoes). I was hesitant to order a steak since I find that the Portuguese often overcook steak, but it was perfectly medium rare as I asked. I wish the two eggs on top had runny yokes as opposed to hard, but I know to ask for them not to be cooked through next time. I would be remiss if so didn't say how simply fantastic the service was. This is a family-run business, and they take the time to ensure their customers are satisfied. It was an incredibly reasonably-priced meal at $71 for two appetizers, two entrees, a bottle of Vinho Verde and and espresso. You will not leave hungry - the portions are big. This is exactly the type of restaurant my husband and I like to patronize. We will go again. read more

I was treating my mom to a portugues lunch and found this place. Parking was right outside and once we were seated i was excited to see the place was filled with portuguese people which meant it was authentic! I got the steak with rice and egg and it was very good. That sauce! yum. My mom got fish with potatoes and salad. Portions are generous and was about $32 for our food. Best octopus in the river! Boom! Thought this place was a fish market for 10 yrs. Not a huge fan of the brown gravy on steak plate and pork and little necks, but everything was cooked perfect and good portion size. great service considering place was packed and only two waitresses, they were hustling. read more

My boyfriend wanted seafood so a Lil yelp search we found ourselves here. The restaurant was empty for the time of day seemed strange (Friday afternoon at 5pm). The decor looked like a typical fall river Portuguese restaurant. We were greeted by our server, she was very pleasent. The menu looked nice, had the Portuguese name of the dishes and the English description underneath. We ordered the flaming chorizo sausage it literally was on fire, delicious. My boyfriend ordered a seaford spaghetti, came in a tomatoes sauce inc lil neck, shrimp, squid and crab meat( immimation,:( ). His spaghetti was over cooked, and the overall dish lacked flavor. I got the fried red fish w. Boiled potatoes and salad. Loved that the fish was a whole fish, nice and flaky crust sad part it had no seasoning, but squeeze some lemon on it helped. The boiled potatoes had more flavor then the fish and the side salad looked a bit sad didn't even touch it. I give the place 3 stars, appetizer was good, the service was good, the dinner portion sadly lacked flavor. read more

I guess I don't understand this kind of food. Went for lunch on a Thursday. I will eat any kind of food. The food here is not complicated. It shouldn't be hard to get right. Stuffed shrimp with rice and fries . So much carbs. Why? I don't get it. Had the smelts. Dry not so great . The stuffed shrimp was dry. Fries undercooked. My wife had a dish with chicken , potatoes, and littlenecks. In red wine sauce. There was like 4 clams. The sauce was too salty. The chicken was overcooked and dry. I won't go back. We were seeking authentic Azorean cuisine and hit the nail on the head. We were warmly welcomed and offered a comfy two top near the window. Portuguese was spoken throughout the restaurant. Everything felt authentic. Our server was delightful. She got quite busy as time passed but did her best to keep the pace. We ordered the green kale soup, the smelt app and shrimp, three ways. We also ordered a house salad and a lovely glass of house red. My bf loved the soup. I don't eat meat so skipped that course. The salad was pretty boring; iceberg blah, skip that one. The smelts app was sublime. Crispy fish full of flavor. The shrimp three ways as incredible. Loved the flavors and the sides of aromatic rice and roasted potatoes added to the dish. The bread was a mix of super fresh super good local bread and stale toast. Not sure if that's a local way of serving bread. Overall, a tasty and memorable experience. We went around 7:30pm on a Friday night and were seated immediately. It was not crowded. Every server there was friendly and our food was delicious! I got the Portuguese Steak with fried and rice and my husband got the special Shrimp Mozambique, stuffed shrimp and shrimp on skewers. We also got the little necks in beer broth for an appetizer.
