The El Caprichoso salad was very good but...it came with yellow rice and not brown and there was no avocado. I didn't open it until I got to my parents house so I did not go back. I would definitely order it again but ensure that I check it before leaving. The beef empanadas were hand made with massa. They were so different than the empanadas that I have had in the past but I absolutely loved them. Before cashing out, they let me know they make desserts. Flan, Tres Leches, etc. I would definitely go back and maybe sit and eat there. There are only a few tables so I assume that they will get more once things start to get busier. My entree was good but tasted generic, like something I've had at other chain restaurants a million times before with no unique twist put on it. It had a sauce but it had little to no flavor - couldn't figure out what it even was and didn't remember it being on the menu - so it added nothing to the dish. There are lots of rave reviews here, but we just don't get it. We've ordered takeout from here before and that time, too, we were not overwhelmed with joy, just kind of 'whelmed.' Very 'meh,' and with so many other incredible food establishments within a 25 minute drive in Providence or in between, or even great local spots in town, this place just doesn't hold a candle. We each preferred our own drink, so it worked out perfectly! For appetizers, hubby had the creamy clam chowder and shrimp corn fritters. He enjoyed the fritters, but felt the chowder was more thick than creamy. I ordered the crab cake, which was okay, although I've had better elsewhere. For our main courses, hubby ordered the cornmeal crusted haddock sandwich, which he said wasn't particularly memorable, while I went with the two-pound lobster stuffed with shrimp and scallops. I found both at Andrade's. I always shop around, and Andrade's prices were great - significantly lower than anything I could find in the area. The lobsters were properly feisty and Nick was very helpful, selecting six two-pounders for us with equal-width tails. (Important for presentation!) I remove the claws, par boil them, and add the meat to the stuffing. (An old trick I learned from Jed Hanley's Fore 'n Aft back in the day.) Although the claws' shells were thick, and actually required a hammer to crack them, I don't think I've ever gotten so much meat. I also bought a pound of peeled and deveined shrimp and a pound of excellent, fresh and sweet scallops for the stuffing. This year's result was among the best I've made. Thanks to Nick, David and all the staff at Andrade's for your help. We'll see you soon.

I have had many dishes at the common pub, but this one was my favorite. The scallops were large, tender, and beautifully seared. The corn puree was not overly smoky but full of flavor, and the bacon added the flavor only bacon can. Best of all, this huge dish was $26. That is expensive for the Common Pub, but this dish would have been much more expensive anywhere else. If you haven't tried it yet, you are truly missing out.
