We stopped by Quitos at the end of our bike path loop and decided to get a quick bite. We ordered some New England Clam Chowder and half a dozen Clam Cakes. I was a bit indecisive about the chowder because they had three types, the New England, Rhode Island and Manhattan. The creamy New England variety has always been my favorite. Our take out order came out in about 10 minutes, which was longer than I expected unfortunately, mainly because the waitress said it will be less than five minutes and the restaurant was pretty empty. The chowder is absolutely fantastic. There were many pieces of thick clams and this chowder tasted very fresh. I'm not sure if they make it in batches or if it's previously frozen, but it tastes like they make a new batch daily. The clam cakes were fried perfectly. Very crispy exterior and soft interior. There are many places that do clam cakes wrong, but they do it very right. It's not oily at all and has loads of flavor!! I was disappointed with time expectation, although it wasn't very long at all and the food makes this a no doubt 5 star from this Yelp Elite. Also, we didn't dine in because of the bike ride. Below average seafood. Portions were small not to mention the two scallops I got on my $47 fishermen's platter like wtf. Service was fast which I appreciate but waiter did not check on us at all, felt like second class citizen to everyone else in that restaurant who had a reservation or was wearing rich clothes. The clam dip lacked flavor and was not a.) cheesy or b.) hot. The only good thing I can rave is the chowder was tasty, but lacking salt flavor imo. Ok I take that back I can't rave about anything. I guess the tap water was tasty and views were nice. Would be better if the table wasn't extremely sticky and the servers absent. read more

Been coming here over 20 years. Hands down the best seafood in RI. Avoid the disappointment with some things to know: 1) Make a reservation. Don't expect to walk in and/ or get the best waterfront table in the house. You can now specify deck, patio or indoor on opentable. We have learned that you can't expect to pop in (even what you'd think would be a slow 2:30pm or 4pm without waiting .5-2 hours, if at all). Expect to hunt and circle for public parking. 2) Yes, some reviews say that you can get a better good burger or fried clams other places for a better price. That's not what Quitos is! We go for the seafood/ hot entrees. This visit, our table ordered seafood stew, clamari, chicken parm, littlenecks with linguine, and seafood casserole. Everyone said it was amongst the best they'd had and the servings were generous enough for take-home containers. 3) if you do strike gold and get that unobstructed waterfront table, it's the most perfect dinner venue with the sunset over the water. read more

After walking by a few times, seeing the menu and the view, we decided to try some seafood. The service was courteous and quick. The prices were fine. The view from the outside deck were lovely. We had a fish and chip dinner and fish tacos. Both were great. I'm picky about Cole slaw and theirs got two thumbs up from us. I wasn't able to finish my soft drink, so I asked for a takeaway cup since we are staying at a hotel. An odd request but they were happy to oblige. The reviews on Yelp vary a lot. as of today 6/20/26 google lists Quitos as permanently closed and their phone number is no longer in service. how convenient for them that their website still readily accepts purchases for gift cards. I went directly to the site as I've purchased gift cards for my dad from them for years so I had no reason to suspect anything was up until I get a call from my parents as they were attempting to make reservations. I get that unfortunate circumstances may have lead them to have to close somewhat suddenly but you need to make it clear on your website that you are closed and you need to shut down gift card services through toast!!! you clearly had time to delete all other social media accounts. Well, my recent visits this past summer 2025 were excellent! Everything was delicious! I was so happy because it was back to being as great as it always was and the staff was as friendly as it always was! Plus you get a great view to go along with the great food. We had been looking for a restaurant that serves fried clams and Rhode Island chowder to bring family that was visiting from out of town. A friend recommended Quitos. We sat outside and had a beautiful water view. Service was slower, but they were busy when we were there. I would suggest making a reservation. Everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered a side of friend whole belly clams, a bowl of Rhode Island chowder, a cup of New England chowder, Clam Cakes, Chicken Parmesan, and Mediterranean Pasta. Portions are large and decently priced. My two pet peeves are that except for a salad or the Mediterranean pasta, there is no other vegan/vegetarian option. A veggie burger or vegetable sandwich would be a good addition to the menu. There is also no other option for pasta except linguine, which in my opinion is hard to eat. I asked for an alternative, but there wasn't one. There is a decent amount of parking, but it is a tight parking lot, making it difficult to back your car out when you want to leave. Traveling Rhode Island for vacation always has some great little towns with even better spots for dining. Quito's is a must if you love seafood and clam shacks. This does better by having full bar service and a fabulous views of the Bristol harbor. To me a must for lunch if in the area. Food is excellent and the service is just as good. No rushing, just great food! The clams are always exceptional, this year we stayed with scallops rolls. The soups/chowders are a must have. read more

Came here for lunch over the past weekend. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I got the lobster bisque which was really flavorful. I liked that it had pieces of lobster it in. I also shared a buttered lobster roll which was delicious and very fresh. They definitely packed it on. The water view was really nice too. The parking is a little tight but there are bigger spots further back. Overall, very good experience. read more

Ive been going to quitos for awhile now, and its a solid seafood restaurant. Beautiful view first off. Always amazing. Never too cold or too hot because they control the canopy and heat lamps well. The steamers are always an amazing appetizer option, as well as the crab dip. However I wouldn't recommend the lobster. Throughout the years i have gotten lobster from Quito's, its always been kinda flavorless and disappointing. I assumed it was just bad luck with lobster but I just learned that its flavorless because it is undercooked. You're better off getting something else off the menu, since the other options are always good. Ive usually had amazing service here as well. A few times I have been neglected by servers who have bigger tables to tend, but usually they are great. Overall I love quitos, just dont order the steamed lobster read more

This is a beautiful restaurant in Bristol sitting right on the ocean. I visited one weekend in October right before the sun began to set. The view was spectacular. I ordered a half dozen of oysters, a fried piece of cod, and chicken tenders. (Yes, my eyes were entirely bigger than my stomach that day!) I read some reviews on Yelp and thought I'd give this place a try. The oysters were really good. They had a nice brine and once I added a little vinegar to them they were just right. The cod was ok. It was nice and crunchy, but it wasn't my favorite piece of cod I've ever eaten. It arrived to the table fresh out of the grease and I did enjoy the actual freshness of the fish. I love some good chicken tenders, but they were quite misleading. The menu described them as "freshly battered" and they arrived as "frozen". I was completely distraught. I really did try to eat them but could not enjoy the processed, once frozen aspect of them. The ginger honey sauce, however, was delicious and aided me in eating a few of them before I left the rest. I was really disappointed in the service. There were moments when I was searching for my server because she just took forever to check on me or bring me something that I needed. Luckily there were a few other servers around who were able to assist. Overall, next time I go: I'll stick to the seafood! read more

We were at Quito's last night for the first time in a couple of years. What was once a wonderful experience with the best seafood ever, has devolved dramatically. During our 1-1/2 hour wait for our entrees to arrive, we heard what we thought must be a riot occurring in the front of the restaurant. Customers were visibly concerned. Someone uncomfortably explained that it was not a riot, but people in the kitchen screaming and yelling, throwing things...a most unprofessional situation and we are told it is not uncommon. Finally the food arrived and it was overcooked and cold and soggy. I don't know what's going on over there, but we won't be back. Get your act together, Quido's. You're not Gordon Ramsey; drop the fish into the oil and get it to the tables. That's it. read more

While vacationing in the area, I and my dining partner made a reservation at Quito's because it was recommended for its beautiful water views. We were lucky to be seated right next to water, so we had gorgeous views of the sunset over the bay. The restaurant is pretty small and all of the patrons are pretty tightly packed together - we were there on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was very crowded. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful, but the wait time to receive our meals was quite long. It took about half an hour to receive our appetizer and another 30-40 minutes to receive our entrees. Even though we were outside, it was still pretty loud as conversations bounced all around. The food is good. We shared the crab cakes, which were delicious! I had the pan-seared fish sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. Although it came with tartar sauce on the side, it would have been nice to have something on the sandwich roll as well. If you're in the mood to leisurely dine in an open, lively atmosphere, Quito's is the place for you. read more

I'm not a person to leave a bad review for a restaurant but the way the lack of customer service today was unforgivable. We are not tourists to Bristol we are local to the area usually the first week that the restaurant opens we are there and the last week that they're open before they close for the season we go again. However tonight was the last time we will go to this restaurant. We had a reservation for 5:45 we arrived about 10 minutes early there were tables available I had requested a table that was not in the center of the room. The hostess informed us that we would not be sitting at at one of those tables that would be sitting in the center of the room so I reminded her that we had requested a table that was not in the center of the room. She proceeded to tell us that we those tables were reserved for someone else we were showed to a table we sat there for 20 minutes the tables continue to remain empty until a couple came in and were seated at one of the tables that was not in the center of the room.the gentleman did not like that table and asked to be seated at the other table that was not in the center of the room don't talk anybody I'm. I then asked to speak to the manager because the hostess had an attitude. She went to the manager asked them to come over and speak to me and the manager said she was not going to do that it looked at me and then continued doing what she was doing. I suggest if you want to go to a restaurant where you're treating like they're doing you a favor by being there quito's would be the place to go. read more

We love this lace, location and food. This time we had an unpleasant experience when checking in. The person at the desk spent several minutes arguing with a coworker before even acknowledging our existence. Finally she asked if we had a reservation and we said no, so she moved on to the only other couple in line and brought them to their table even though they were 10 minutes late for their reservation. Here is Quito's novel idea...actually put clams in your clam cakes! What a pleasant surprise this was after the fried dough balls that have passed as clam cakes at some other well known RI restaurants. This was my first visit to Quito's and i must say that I was impressed with the view (we ate on the outdoor porch overlooking the harbor), the service (thank you Christine et al), the cleanliness (even the restrooms were spotless) and certainly not least, the quality of the food! In addition to the outstandingly large, flavorful clam cakes, I enjoyed a lobster roll stuffed with sweet tender lobster that tasted like it had just been plucked from the cold water in Maine! My dining buddy was equally satisfied with the scallops. I was born and raised in RI and it is always nice that when fries come with your meal there is already vinegar on the table! Our server Kerry was very attentive and we had our drinks right away. Large food and beverage menu. We shared the stuffies for an appetizer-full of clam and delicious stuffing. For our entrees I had the lobster roll which easily had 6-8 ounces of lobster. He had the lemon cod with breadcrumbs-huge portion as well. And the view was exquisite. I had heard so many good things about Quito's that we decided to give it a try. My BF got the fish sandwich with fries and it was good. The fries were crispy and piping hot. The fried fish was very nice as well. Moist and crispy on the outside. I got the fried clam strips side order ($14 for Large) and I was a bit disappointed with it. The temperature of the dish was warm/cold. Not hot at all. The breading was crisp but not very flavorful. The clams were good on the inside. I also got a garden salad and it was very nice and fresh.
