This was our fourth visit to Estoril and each time the food gets worse. So this will be the last visit. The chicken estoril was tough and old. My wife's seafood casserole required a knife to cut the fish. It was quite disgusting. To top it off we were visited by a cockroach that walked across our table. Service was good and the ambiance is the same. None of our meals were finished. We could have complained but I know it would have been an ugly scene. Please stay away! read more

This restaurant is a WOW when it comes to a few of their entrees. Let's just say at the top of the list is the steak Estoril . My mouth waters just saying the name of the dish! The brown creamy mushroom sauce will make you say yummmmm right out loud. I wish I had taken a picture but my husband devoured it in the blink of an eye. I opted for the shrimp Mozambique which was good but a bit too heavy on the garlic for me. However the Portuguese round fries were cooked to perfection. I dunked them repeatedly in the Mozambique sauce ... delish! We were too full but will definitely return to try the special flan for dessert. read more

Just finished having lunch at Estoril in Fall River. The food was very good, the service was not. I ordered Portuguese soup and was brought Caldo Verde. The Portuguese steak was very tasty and was cooked perfectly, however it was lukewarm. He said he would bring water for us and water did not appear until the end of the meal. I left most of the Portuguese fries on my plate and as the waiter cleared the table, he told me he would wrap them for me (I didn't ask). He brought the bill and nothing else. I asked him if he wrapped the potatoes for me and he said he didn't know I wanted him to do that. Clearly, this guy wasn't listening to me or himself. We had seen Estoril featured on Phantom Gourmet and were on a shopping trip to Fall River, so we decided to give them a try. Estoril is known for their Portuguese food. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted and seated by the hostess. We sat in a fairly big dining room and there wasn't anyone else there. Our hostess ended up being our server also. Eventually several other people came in to eat also. We ordered our Portuguese soup and I ordered a baked seafood dish and my partner ordered a steak. wOw! What a terrific experience in a classy restaurant. First, they don't take reservations but you should check on special days like major holidays and family occasions. The decor is classic, red walls, linen table cloths and napkins, four comfy chairs for drinks. The bar is lengthy. The owner, Fatima, shares the current paradigm malaise of restauranteurs: not enough help. However, our minimal wait for a table was NBD. It was a nice touch that Nancy remembered my fiance from years before. Madison, our server is that kind of positive person you want in your dining experience. The menus are paper. My fiance ordered the baked cod fillets with a terrific salad side. I had the linguine with shrimp Mozambique. Nice and spicy. We paired our meal with a red wine. For dessert, I had the special flan with strawberry and chocolate sauce. OMG! This was a special meal with my fiance. You should go there for a wonderful Portuguese dining experience. Today was my boyfriend and I's first time dining here and it was such an amazing experience. We each had a kale soup, it was hearty and delicious and shared the shrimp Mozambique appetizer (I could have drank the sauce with a straw). For dinner I got the baked stuffed shrimp with Portuguese fries and steamed carrots, my boyfriend got the Portuguese steak. My baked stuffed shrimp was cooked to perfection buttery and delicious, my boyfriends steak was also cooked beautifully and melted in your mouth. We had one of the best breakfast ever - if you call steak and egg as breakfast food. My friend and I was enroute to the mansions in RI and decided to stop here for brunch instead of eating at the tourist spots in Newport. We arrived a little early than their 12PM opening hours but the owner was nice enough to let us in instead of making us wait outside. The star of the restaurant is The Portuguese steak- a 10oz (I think) sirloin pan fried served with an egg and pan gravy and your choice of two sides was a steal at $17. Both of us got the same dish and it was great. I had mine medium rare with well done Portuguese fries and rice. It's delicious albeit a little salty to my taste. Steak could have been cooked a degree less but it was overall delicious. Will definitely make a trip back here whenever we are in the area. read more

I have been driving by this restaurant for years since I moved to Fall River, and I was meeting and celebrating with some friends their recent marriage and suggested Estoril's. They said it was their favorite place in Fall River, so I was psyched!!! We started off with the fried calamari and I asked for a side of tartar sauce too... They serve it with a garlic butter dipping sauce which was good also, but I love tartar sauce with fried seafood. It was the best calamari I have had in years. So I suggest you start with it. I had the Maderious steak and the incredible potatoes, and broccoli and a glass of Merlot. The steak was so delicious and everything was divine. I had so much food which was great to bring home for the next day. The service was terrific, fast and very helpful in the different dishes. I am looking forward to returning there again real soon. One Saturday afternoon after booking our trip to Portugal through Sagres Travel, we came here for lunch. I have never tried Portuguese food before, but thought I should give it a try since that is what will be offered in Portugal. After seeing some other great reviews of this restaurant on Yelp, we knew this place was going to be great. We walked in and were sat immediately in the dining room. Since we are mainly bar people, we decided to move where it was a little more cozier. Nancy, who was our bartender/server, was fantastic. She knew exactly what we should order and was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and wine. We started off with the Portuguese soup which was very tasty, and the Flaming Chourico! Literally, it was on fire. After enjoying the appetizers, I ordered their Caramel Flan for dessert. By far it was the best Flan I have ever tasted. Went for dinner on Sunday evening with a party of 4 people and was seated in the dining room where two other tables were occupied. While we were eating a party of about 16 people came in and were seated about 8 feet from our table. They were talking so loud that it ended the conversation amongst the four of us because we couldn't hear what we were saying to each other. Although the food was ok the waitress came over while we were still eating and asked if we wanted take home boxes. It was indeed a very disappointing experience. The owner of this restaurant needs to create a separate area for large parties so the noise can be contained and the other people can enjoy their dinner. Also they need to teach their wait people to wait for people to be done eating before offering take home boxes. It gave the feeling they couldn't wait for us to leave so they could focus on the large party. Will not be going back. read more

Hello, after many months, we finally tried Estoril, I wish we had much sooner! The "Fantom......" Was right in their review! What a nice experience, all staff very friendly. The atmosphere has a family feel, and yet upscale. We tried the shrimp Mozambique .......had to try their sauce for it....what a flavor, the right amt. of garlic, heat, sodium......it was so good, could have stopped there and been happy. The menu has something for everyone, I had the "old country baked stuffed scrod", with the rice and carrots as sides, (decisions for the sides, starch and veg. Are at a min.), the meats, seafoods, sauces are the heroes here, and that's just fine! First thing you notice is how everything is cooked perfectly, cooked as you wish, and not dried out. The other dish ordered was the "steak Estoril", the first thing you're struck by is the amount of sauce, and it looked so thick, but chef does a very good job of keeping it lite and works with the meat....very tasty, very tender! The experience here was most enjoyable, the food is cooked expertly, and, if you're not accustomed with Portuguese cuisine you're in for a treat. So much to try on menu, will return soon.......next time might save room for the "fried ice cream", I'll let you know.... read more

My wife and I dressed nicely and visited Estoril for our wedding anniversary dinner. We were stopped at the entrance of the restaurant by a homeless woman who said she was hungry and asked for money to get something to eat. I made a 'donation', she thanked us and we entered the restaurant. We were literally the only ones in the dining room, our server seemed nice and offered some suggestions and we placed our order. I asked the waitress what beer they had on DRAFT and ordered one from the ones she listed. She brought me a BOTTLED beer with NO GLASS. Then we proceeded to wait 40 Minutes for our food to arrive!! A party of SIX who entered after us was waited on, served and left by the time we received our food. My wife said she would go to the ladies room then we would leave if our food hadn't arrived. My wife returned from the ladies room and said it was dirty and still had #2 in the toilet! We were just about to put our coats on when the food FINALLY arrived. We asked why it took so long and the waitress said my dish was seafood so it took longer. "You don't want undercooked seafood!" she said. But 40 MINUTES in an empty restaurant?! She asked if there was anything else I needed so I mentioned that she didn't bring me the Portuguese fries I had ordered. She went back into the kitchen and returned about 10 minutes later with regular french fries. When I told her I had ordered Portuguese Fries she said... "That's what the Chef made." REALLY?! My meal was EXTREMELY salty and practically inedible. I have NEVER not left a tip before but I left ZERO tip and suffice to say we will not be returning. 'The Phantom Gourmet' gave a stellar review on YouTube which they have posted on their website but now I see that the review is from 9 years ago! Good size portion , nice flavor on chicken. Fries were excellent. I had the Mixed boat which was seafood over rice with a scampi like sauce. Again nice size portion and seafood tasted fresh.
