We decided to visit the pop up shop in Scottsdale since we live around the corner. They had a ton of different pies for Father's Day weekend. I was very surprised and excited by the selection! We decided on the lime in the coconut pie. I liked it a lot. It was so odd - literally one bite I would feel like I was eating Keylime pie and the second bite I would feel like I was having coconut cream pie! I love both so it was a great fit. The only thing that st knocks it one star is that the pie crust was really hard to get out of the tin. The pie crust was delicious so I was disappointed that it was stuck to the bottom and hard to get out. The pies are expensive... But I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I can't wait to go back and try their berry cheesecake that they are featuring this summer. I also saw that there Mesa location has peanut butter pies. Honestly used to love Piefection, but the last two pecan pies I've picked up have been bad and nowhere near worth the cost. A Safeway pecan pie would be better. They need to invest in their quality control as they expand and grow. The last one was burnt and todays just tasted bad. Going to need to find a new spot moving forward. read more

It is an unfortunate pattern that businesses get popular through the quality of their products, and then focus on increasing profits at the expense of the product quality that built the business in the first place. I used to love the coconut cream pie, today's fresh piece had a crust that was a 3/10, "whipped cream" was unpleasant so I give it a 2/10. The filling itself was tasty but one out of three is a complete fail in my books. I have just tasted today's fresh, old fashioned Apple pie and will not eat the whole thing. Their caramel apple pie is divine! The inside mix is a perfect blend of apples, spices, and caramel sauce. Their crust is also fantastic! The lime coconut pie tastes similar to a Pina Colada...it's tasty! The key lime pie is rich and the graham cracker crust is perfect. Review for the pot pies: we tried the green Chile pot pie...let's start with Marie Calendar's..who? This pot pie is AMAZING! Crust is perfect. The filling has just the right amount of spice! I tried piefection years ago and wasn't super impressed, felt it was just mediocre but nothing majorly wrong. I just stopped in this week and was so disappointed after spending a lot of money on a few different slices and a whole pie. The chocolate cream pie was so sweet. The filling was like brownie batter that had not been cooked. The crusts in the pie slices is pretty much non existent. I've had a better chocolate cream pie from Albertsons. read more

When we went to pick it up it had not been done. So they did get it done in the afternoon too late for her party. And all we got was oh it was a mistake..No discount no offer to do anything about it. Everything about my last review stands; this review is solely based on my experience last night. I went in to get a savory pie (because seriously, the triple berry pie changed my life) and a slice of strawberry rhubarb for desert. I was pretty disappointed, to be honest. The potpie was mediocre - it tasted like they just dumped some canned veg and canned chicken in and called it a day - and the strawberry rhubarb pie was nothing to write home about. In all seriousness, I've had frozen potpies that were better and costed less. I even felt pretty nauseated after finishing the potpie and was slightly concerned it had given me food poisoning. If you're looking for a dinner pie, I'd skip this one. If you're looking for a sweet pie, I'd still recommend the triple berry because it is legit that tasty. read more

So frustrated with Piefection. Their pies are excellent and they're only a ten minute drive from my house. But for some reason they won't let you place an order for holiday pies, which is about the only time of year we purchase pies. (Except strangely enough, they'll let you order ahead for their custard, keto and sugar free pies.) When you're getting ready for a big family dinner, the last thing you want to do is go stand in a long line for an hour or more with sick people and restless kids. Then you make it to the front of the line, only to find that they don't have the pie you want. Their big cheery excuse is that they have tons of pies to choose from (this is a fact) but I didn't waste 90 minutes in line to get a pie I didn't want. (This happened to me last Thanksgiving.) I cannot for the life of me understand why they can't do what seemingly every other business in town does and just let you reserve what you want ahead of time. After my sour experience last year I ordered ahead with another pie place in Scottsdale this Thanksgiving. It was a 35 minute drive and the pie just wasn't as good. All I could wonder and hope was if Piefection would ever get it together and change their Stone Age ways for next year's holiday season. read more

They are NOT taking online orders at a time in life where that could not be more important. You cannot call and talk to them either. I went inside to voice my opinion. "Just Come in and pick up your pie" lol The lines will be double the length and no guarantee you will get anything outside the average everyday pies. We want specialty pies, the whole purpose of trying to order ahead. They should offer "appointment type" scheduled day/time pick ups similar to what Village Inn did to control this would be fiasco, but no. My health is compromised and I don't need to be standing around with twice as many people as there should be this holiday This was a very poor decision and it is not going to go well for them. I will use my grandmas pie crust recipe and make my own Tangy Orange Cream pie ( similar to key lime/tangy but orange) and it WILL be better and I will save the $50-60 ish. We seriously wont be back until you use simple consideration of your "would be customers". You may or may not get what you want after standing in twice the line this holiday. This is a good place to get pie. Have tried from both the Mesa location and the Scottsdale. the Arizona orange pie, the strawberry rhubarb, custard, caramel apple, French silk, and the southern pecan. Also have tried the pot pies the green chili and the chicken. Wasn't a fan of the custard pie, but the rest were solid. Both Pot pies were really good. I will probably return to satisfy my annual pie cravings. read more

Very disappointment. It was my job to provide an awesome dessert for thanksgiving and I thought I would get a unanimous vote for best thanksgiving ever after spending $75 for three pies and waiting in line for an hour. Not sure if their pies are usually this bad or it's just because they make thousands for this day, but I'll not ever be going back. We ordered a French Silk, Pumpkin and banana cream. The French Silk is more like a thick chocolate frosting pie. It literally tastes like chocolate frosting and there is no silk in it at all. The pumpkin is overwhelming with clove spice? And nasty. I didn't actually try the banana cream because that just isn't my kind of pie, but the family said it was ok. By far the best of the three but nothing thrilling. I would have done better if I would have just got three frozen Marie Callander pies at the grocery store for $20. Could have saved $55. Don't waste your money. read more

Well made the journey to far out Mesa due to a blueberry craving. The pies average about $18 and based on my one pie purchase it was a worthy price. I just had a hard tie deciding between whipped cream and ice cream for the topping at home. The blueberry pie itself was outstanding and the crust was also really good, not so flaky. It was just pure wild blueberries in the pie, so if you like this kind of fruit, then you will enjoy the pie. The chocolate cream is next to try. read more
