UPDATE: This week we finally defrosted our Olive Oil Rosemary Focaccia Bread & WOW! It is delicious!! I was skeptical because it came frozen. It defrosted quickly on the counter & we ate it with spaghetti squash & Alfredo sauce. Personally, I am not a huge fan of rosemary, but my goodness, the bread was just so good, I got over the rosemary pretty quickly. I was completely impressed by how fresh this bread tasted, considering that it was frozen. I have not reviewed their menu lately, but I would definitely order this bread again, ESPECIALLY if it comes in other flavors! Nice job, Bread Brothers! I am making my updated review 4 Stars instead of 3 because this bread was so tasty. However, I still believe that the communication with customers regarding when they should expect their orders to be ready must be improved. &I would love an EXTRA SOUR sourdough. If you can eat wheat based food in Europe but can't afford to fly over there right now? Lol! Then here's your one stop shop for perfection. Their sourdough is outstanding! The focaccia bread is absolutely delightful! I like it toasted and used for sandwiches and breakfast avocado smear. I'm slowly working my way through their entire menu. It's worth it! I have been gluten free for so long and so sensitive even a bite can put me into pain for up to a month. But... NO pain here!!! The healing that this is causing me is on an emotional level, not just the joy of being able to enjoy regular bread and rolls and desserts again. They are so attentive and caring. Lisa is warm and friendly and wonderful! Great customer service, great food wonderful service. I cannot recommend it enough. It's clean, they don't use junk ingredients and the wheat is digestible. I don't even know what to say beyond this overflow of joy and delight. I'm just blown away. Driving by, this place caught my eye. Decided to stop by for a few items. My husband and I approached the door and a female employee opened the door asking if we made an online purchase. I stated no, I saw the place while driving by and wanted to see what items were available for purchase. Stumbled into this place on Yelp while I was in the area. Popped in and picked up a couple loaves of bread. Should have asked the prices before handing over my credit card, as I never imagined loaves of bread being $10 each direct from the baker. $20 for two loaves of bread? WTF? At normal market prices this place would be a neat find, because the bread was delicious. At 4-5x market prices, I'm just too shocked to enjoy it. The biggest issue with this bakery is their prices. It would be one thing if their baked goods were world renowned, however, I could buy 6 cookies at Jacques Torres in NYC for the cost of 2 cookies here. Furthermore, Jacques Torres cookies are award winning and this bakeries are at best home baked, nothing special. I get that they're building a family business, and I wish all small local business success, but generally businesses grow by volume and when you're charging these prices you want a high-end clientele. However, the goods have to fit the price, and these simply do not. Furthermore, location, location, location... With what they charge, they should be smack dab in the middle of North Scottsdale or Paradise Valley not in Lehi in Mesa. What they are charging is astronomical compared to the area. I love to bake myself, and when I have bought bread from here in the past there were rookie mistakes l noticed they displayed in their technique. For example, the gap that forms in their cinnamon swirl bread could be fixed by brushing on a beaten egg before adding the cinnamon and rolling the dough up. Their cookies are over worked after the dry and wet ingredients are mixed, leading to a less than ideal texture. Who on this planet can charge more than $25.00 for a simple fruit pie? Apparently, this place can... I gave 2 star simple because their granola is outstanding. And it should be for what they charge. read more
