These cupcakes are not too big and not too small, but the perfect size for someone craving a sweet treat that tastes fresh. I am always delighted by how great any flavor of cupcake I choose does not taste old or mass-produced, but is clear that it is a family owned business. I would highly recommend going here to get cupcakes for any event!
Great stop for a delicious cupcake. Frosting as light without being too sweet. Guava filling was delicious and cake was spongy! Service was very good with smiles and friendly faces all over. Ambiance was very bakery cool! Check it out.
We really enjoyed both cakes we ordered recently. The guests at the party raved about how good they were! Love that you have monthly specials and signature cakes to choose from in a pinch. They were perfection.
Ordered a cake for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and Sugarlips did a beautiful job with including their original wedding colors and flowers in the design. We added a cute little old couple cake topper and it was perfect. It was a delicious as it was beautiful and I'll definitely be back when my kids need wedding cakes (or any cakes really!)
As soon as we stepped in the door we were welcomed. Amazing little bakery full of great service and delicious cakes! We preordered our cake and we were able to discuss the design. We are from out of state so the preordering process is a little outdated and cumbersome but nothing major. All worth it in the end. The design was perfect! For a little and simple cake they did everything they could to maximize the design. More than we were expecting. The cake was delicious! We ordered chocolate cake with raspberry preserves in the center. Moist, chocolaty, and the raspberry preserves were perfect. Don't hesitate to place an order!
The vanilla cupcake was delicious. I thought it was not too sweet. I also thought that the frosting made up for it, and was very sweet. The sprinkles were a nice touch!

This place has amazing desserts! If you are ever in the area stop by and grab a sweet treat! My favorite cupcake is hands down the pink champagne one! We recently got married and they made our wedding cake! I highly recommend them for wedding cake or your future cake needs. They listened well, gave suggestions when asked, and truly listened to everything we wanted. The final result was exactly what we discussed and it tasted amazing! On top of the taste I would say the pricing is very reasonable as well! Highly recommend!
I've been coming to Sugarlips for about 10+ years, and I'm never disappointed in their creations and overall designs. They always exceed my expectations and they're not just design people, the flavor, texture and overall quality of the cake is amazing. I can't say enough about this place, they're professional, courteous and friggin talented! Can't wait for more events to order cake!
We chose Sugarlips for our wedding cake as they were listed as the preferred vendor for Garden Tuscana, the reception hall we had booked. I actually had another bakery in mind for our wedding and the cake was going to cost well over $1000. But through the preferred vendor package pricing at Garden Tuscana, I believe it ended up being $350 for a 4 tier cake, which was a no brainer! At first I thought to myself "I've never heard of this place." But after one quick Yelp search, my mouth was watering. I was excited to try it out! We booked a cake tasting prior to our wedding. They are very coordinated and had us input our preferred cake and fillings in advance of the meeting. The day of our meeting, they even had a private little seating nook and a welcome sign for us. It was really sweet (no pun intended). They gave us three half cupcakes (which are pretty big!) all topped with vanilla buttercream and the three mousses of our choice. I was also able to discuss vision with our consultant. Luckily, I had one picture I showed her which was pretty simple. Four layers in an ivory color and then the florist would really do all the rest. I'm very happy we did the cake tasting because some of them were ones we thought we'd like and then chose not go go with them and replace them with other flavors. They even gave us additional samples because we were so fickle. And beyond that, they had flavors on the menu that weren't in stock the day we came, so my fiancé ordered them special and picked them up the following week so we could taste test them. Fortunately, our tasting was 3.5 months before the wedding which gave us a lot of time to choose. Part of the reason it was so tough to narrow it all down was because we had 4 tiers plus a sheet cake! We were allowed to choose a separate flavor for each one. Knowing that we were going to take the top tier home, we opted to keep that flavor the same as the base flavor. We ended up with Marble Cake with Chocolate Mousse, Pink Champagne Cake with Coconut Mousse, Banana Cake with Strawberry Preserve, and Confetti Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. It was delicious and I'm very happy we went with the multi-flavor options for our guests. We received many compliments on the cake and some even shared that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had! One of my friends still tells me about it and said she even went back to Ohio and told everyone how amazing our wedding cake was. Hah! I'm SO happy we went with Sugarlips and honestly, they have much better cake than the original bakery I was going to select for our wedding. I know it's pretty far out of the way, but next time I need a specialty cake, you can be sure I'll head over to Mesa to get Sugarlips!

The sugar cookies tasted as one would expect. The vanilla cupcakes also tasted as one would expect. The cupcake had lots of sugary frosting on top. The cupcake was not overly dry or wet. Atmosphere - No strange or strong odors or smells. No music playing when I visited. I liked that. I prefer no music over loud music. I don't like loud music. It's hard to hear with loud music. Service - There were about four or five employees. The service here was quick. Order and pay at the register. Self seating. Parking - Surface parking lot. No parking meter or parking structures. Would like shaded or covered parking for all of Arizona someday. Did not see a health rating on Yelp. Seemed clean and organized when I visited. read more
WOW--this bakery is absolutely incredible. My boyfriend surprised me with six cupcakes from here for my birthday, and every single one was outstanding. They offer a huge selection with new flavors rotating weekly, which makes it even more exciting to choose. We tried the chocolate chocolate, vanilla cake with chocolate icing, salted caramel, lemon, and banana--and each one blew us away. The banana bread cupcake was a standout: incredibly moist, topped with rich chocolate icing and filled with chocolate cream in the center. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. He paid $20 for a six pack, which is a deal! We will definitely be back, and I can't recommend this place enough! read more

This is the second birthday cake I've ordered from Sugarlips and I'd highly recommend them to anyone else! They are so amazing to work with and ordering was really easy. I think their prices are very fair given the masterpieces they create! My son wanted a candy and car birthday cake. Luckily, the bakers knew just what to do. I provided the large candy and cars and they took care of everything else! The best part is that the cake tasted as good as it looked! I have had my families cakes done by Sugarlips Cakery for over 10 years. They are so artistic and amazing with their customer service and amazing flavors!! I ordered a small cake for my daughter's wedding. The staff were so nice and accommodating. It was a rush order 6 days before the surprise courthouse wedding. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Their bakery had many things to offer, as well as, a few places to sit and eat a treat. The bakery ambiance was perfect for that business. I like the convenience of being able to purchase a cake cup to satisfy my cake cravings! You can help yourself to the variety that day from their small fridge in the corner of their shop. I see it as a single cake slice layered with icing layers. It probably is left over cake pieces, but that's okay with me. There is no need for me then to purchase an entire cake to taste a good quality birthday cake and icing. (I would be eating cake for days and expanding the waistline for days if I did!) At $4.50 a cup and a spoon it keeps my stomach happy! Pink champagne with vanilla mousse and butter cream is my favorite with red velvet coming in a close second! read more

This is the absolute best cakery ever. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. The owner is amazing and her creativity is unmatched. Super friendly environment and the cakes are unlike anything I've ever seen. We used Sugarlips for both of our daughter's birthday parties and everyone went on and on about how beautiful and delicious the cakes were. A lot of places can't do both great design and make it taste good but Sugarlips isn't your average cakery. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

My husband ordered the cake for my birthday and I believe they well took advantage of a male not knowing the prices as to what he was ordering. For a small 6in cake that I'm not sure if it will feed our whole family they charged him $140!!!! For the design and size this is absolutely outrageous and taking advantage of. Recently read some ridiculous reviews on Sugarlips and decided to voice my REAL opinion and not slander such a great business. My family and I were in town for an event that did not pertain to dessert but always hear about Sugarlips because my daughter's future goal is to own a business as such. We got cupcakes and an entire variety of them. Each one was delicious, sweet and moist. Could you ask for anything more? The customer Service was Amazing. I cannot say enough about Sugarlips Cakery! Each time I've ordered a cake from them, they have gone beyond any expectations, even bringing me to tears with their thoughtfulness. We recently ordered one cake for our twins' first birthday and they made two smash cakes in addition to the one we ordered. It was the loveliest surprise! I ordered a cake for our oldest daughter a few years ago who wanted "a moon cake." I told them she looks at the moon and says goodnight every night. I still tear up thinking about the thought they put behind it. Just beautiful. My experience with them has always been positive and felt so personal. We stopped in to Sugarlips Cakery. It's a super cute cupcake bakery that also does (wedding) cakes. We got 1/2 dozen cupcakes. The flavors rotate. We got a vanilla, a peppermint, a sugarplum, a banana cream, a rainbow, and a chocolate mousse. The cupcakes were large and visually pleasing. I ate the banana cream and was a bit disappointed. I was expecting something decadent but pretty much just got dense banana bread. My family chowed down on the others, so I don't know if I just ordered poorly. Based on cuteness alone, I'd give Sugarlips another chance. read more

I tend to be over picky about my cupcakes, but no need to think twice when I'm picking flavors at Sugarlips. And the staff is always so on it to help you choose, if you're lucky enough to pop in during a theme day even more fun to be had! The cake...pick a flavor any flavor. The one thing that keeps me coming back is I have Never had their cakes taste like they have been sitting in a fridge uncovered like other bakeries. Always on point and full of whatever flavor they magically come up with. The icing.... It's not so sweet it makes your jaw tingle. And seriously the flavor combs these lovely ladies come up with are to die for!!! The assortment...did I mention I drive out of my way, business trip, visit family, you name it & I will come up missing at some point to see what's in their case. Creative. Delicious. Professional. I heard about SugarLips' quality cakes and exceptional decorating skills and decided to hire them for my son's first birthday smash cake and a full cake. The airplane design nailed it and the cake was so good! A few years later, when my daughter was turning 1, I knew who to go to. The Cinderella-themed, blue cake with silver sparkles was so magical and exactly what I envisioned for the party theme. We go here frequently on whims for a cupcake treat. On March 22nd I typically order a Birthday cake for my deceased daughter. This year, I forgot to order. I went to just see what in stock cakes they had. We have always done rainbows and the color purple for our daughter. Well on Mar 22, 2023 they had a for sale rainbow cake, and when asked to write on it, without saying a color they automatically did purple. I don't even know if they remember from year to year, but I can tell you that I appreciated that they were ready and helpful, and I didn't even have to explain. Their true customer service through dozens of visits has made me a customer for life. And their cake tastes Great!!!! Go there, buy a cupcake, share with your friends. Enjoy!!! Heck I'll even go with you. Love the staff, love the people, love the product!!! read more
