We go here frequently on whims for a cupcake treat. On March 22nd I typically order a Birthday cake for my deceased daughter. This year, I forgot to order. I went to just see what in stock cakes they had. We have always done rainbows and the color purple for our daughter. Well on Mar 22, 2023 they had a for sale rainbow cake, and when asked to write on it, without saying a color they automatically did purple. I don't even know if they remember from year to year, but I can tell you that I appreciated that they were ready and helpful, and I didn't even have to explain. Their true customer service through dozens of visits has made me a customer for life. And their cake tastes Great!!!! Go there, buy a cupcake, share with your friends. Enjoy!!! Accidentally erased lengthy review. Well lucky them. Basically they're overpriced, on small side, the excitement is in the frosting not the cake. Cake flavor doesn't meet the flavor name given. Champagne tasting like grape. Told they're baked fresh daily but should eat them all TODAY. UH, I got a dozen. Tried to take advantage of Yelp perk and you would have thought I was trying to ask for cash back. What are they teaching these kids? Don't they have business classes in school? YUM! This post is only about their cupcakes, since that is what we came here for. However, from the looks of the cakes that customers were picking up, there are some amazing designs that this cakery creates. I came here on a Saturday for their cupcake happy hour. My niece was having a birthday party and my sister asked me to stop by here to grab cupcakes for the party. They had a large assortment on display, as you can see from my photos. Each month they have "special flavors of the month," which you can find out about by calling or checking their social media accounts. I had called the day before to ask about how busy it gets, but it varies. On the day I went, I arrived 30 minutes before happy hour started, and got the 1st spot in line. When you enter the cakery, there is a small box with cards and designated as the happy hour box. You grab the first card on top and wait until happy hour starts and your card is called. Before starting happy hour, the staff read out the instructions about how cupcake happy hour works. Simply put, all the cupcakes are $1.50 and there is no limit on how many you can purchase. But if you finish your order and realize you need more once you've paid, you have to start all over again. Of the cupcakes we got, my favorites were the chocolate vanilla and the red velvet. For the price during happy hour, it's a great deal! The cakes were moist and the frosting was delicious! Not too sweet and just the right amount of softness. I do wish some of the cake flavors were a little more flavorful, especially the nutella cupcake. You couldn't really taste the nutella in the frosting or cake, even though the presentation was amazing. Overall, a really cool place to grab some dessert or to order some beautifully designed cakes for a special occasion! read more

I have purchased numerous birthday cakes, a wedding shower cake, and a baby shower cake here! We LOVE this place! The staff is wonderful and has worked with us on some very unique designs (a movie popcorn bucket, a Harry Potter Ravenclaw cake, and a multi-tiered Mad Hatter's Tea Party cake! Last year my daughter had a tooth extracted at the dentist because it wasn't coming out on its own. She was very dramatic over the experience but left with her tooth in necklace case to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy later. After the dentist we stopped at Sugarlips Cakery, my favorite local bakery to get cupcakes to bring to my sister on her Birthday. Once we got to my sisters, my daughter realized she dropped the tooth at Sugarlips. I called Sugarlips and apologized for the weird request but asked them to look for tooth. The lady was very sweet on the phone and said she would look and call me back. She called back later to say they couldn't find the tooth, but they wanted to give my daughter a special treat for losing it and asked if we could come back tomorrow. Later that night, I did go back to their parking lot and with the flashlight on my phone- I found her tooth on the concrete! Sugarlips called the next day to remind me they had a free treat and asked how it went with no tooth. I told them I actually found the tooth, so all was well. They said they still wanted her to come into the store after school to get her treat. I was expecting her to pick out a free cupcake, but what they made was so much more special! They made her a perfect custom tooth cake - just for her! And they gave her a little ball of white fondant so she can mold her own sweet tooth with it. My daughter was having a difficult week after starting a new school and having the tooth pulled - and this brightened her day! The thoughtfulness of this gift was appreciated beyond words! It was also delicious!!! (As all their treats are!) I could honestly write 3 more pages about the many other amazing experiences I've had here. The summer fun theme days have always been amazing. They paint the kids' faces, have crafts, themed cupcakes, the staff dresses up and interacts with the kids - it truly is phenomenal! Every cake and cupcake I have purchased from here has been delicious (I LOVE the cake in a cup in particular!) During COVID - they had take-home cake kits with youtube links on how to decorate them. This kept my kids busy for hours, and they were always SO YUMMY! And, every time I've asked - they always donate gift cards for my children's school fundraisers! I could go on and on and on...this will always be my go-to place for sweet treats, and a great reminder that when you support local businesses, they support YOU! read more

Our daughter and new son-in-law found Sugarlips Cakery for their wedding cake needs. They enjoyed the in shoppe cake tasting and selection of wedding cake styles. This bakery matched the photo of a cake my daughter fell in love with. The entire staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with our decision making. We even added a cake layer and they quickly made an addendum to the contract. We dropped off artificial flowers after they gave recommendations for how many we needed to get the effect we wanted. They delivered and set up the cake in the window of time promised. This vendor never caused us a moment of stress or anxiety before the wedding (not an easy thing when planning a wedding).
