These cupcakes are not too big and not too small, but the perfect size for someone craving a sweet treat that tastes fresh. I am always delighted by how great any flavor of cupcake I choose does not taste old or mass-produced, but is clear that it is a family owned business. I would highly recommend going here to get cupcakes for any event!
Great stop for a delicious cupcake. Frosting as light without being too sweet. Guava filling was delicious and cake was spongy! Service was very good with smiles and friendly faces all over. Ambiance was very bakery cool! Check it out.
Ordered a cake for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and Sugarlips did a beautiful job with including their original wedding colors and flowers in the design. We added a cute little old couple cake topper and it was perfect. It was a delicious as it was beautiful and I'll definitely be back when my kids need wedding cakes (or any cakes really!)
As soon as we stepped in the door we were welcomed. Amazing little bakery full of great service and delicious cakes! We preordered our cake and we were able to discuss the design. We are from out of state so the preordering process is a little outdated and cumbersome but nothing major. All worth it in the end. The design was perfect! For a little and simple cake they did everything they could to maximize the design. More than we were expecting. The cake was delicious! We ordered chocolate cake with raspberry preserves in the center. Moist, chocolaty, and the raspberry preserves were perfect. Don't hesitate to place an order!
We really enjoyed both cakes we ordered recently. The guests at the party raved about how good they were! Love that you have monthly specials and signature cakes to choose from in a pinch. They were perfection.
The vanilla cupcake was delicious. I thought it was not too sweet. I also thought that the frosting made up for it, and was very sweet. The sprinkles were a nice touch!
Sugarlips Cakery did our wedding cake and dessert bar. The consultation process was easy. They offered take home tasting boxes for our cake. The questionnaire to plan for our dessert bar was super straightforward. Sugarlips did our wedding cake design perfectly. Best part is that everything tasted so great!
Sugar Lips Cakery is amazing! Thank you so much for the beautiful cake you made for our wedding! The colors and flow of the design was more than spectacular! The photos do not lie! Great job to Samantha and her team for everything! Definitely recommend them for all and any cakery! P.S. it tastes just as good as it looks!
Sugarlips is hands-down the BEST bakery! I ordered a custom cake for my son and was absolutely blown away by the design--it was perfect. I gave one instruction: cake is for a 14yo boy. The cake was so fun and so much like my son! I love their creativity and attention to detail. Not only did it look incredible, but it tasted amazing too! Moist, flavorful, and gone before the night was over. This is the only place I go to for cakes. Birthdays, celebrations--Sugarlips always delivers beyond expectations. Thank you for making my son's special day unforgettable!
My experience at Sugarlips was amazing! I have been meaning to come here for months and I am so glad I came today. I got 8 cupcakes--some from the seasonal selection and some from the standard. You truly get the best of both worlds--a beautiful and delicious cupcake. The employee was very helpful in explaining each flavor and giving me recommendations. I will totally be coming back again and will consider Sugarlips when needing a cake or cupcakes for any celebration!
Sam with Sugar Lips Cakery was always prompt with her communication, flexible with options and brought our vision to life. She was a joy to work with and her high energy and positive attitude made us feel special as her attentiveness to detail made sure we were happy with our choices. The cake and mini desserts were a hit! We choose 2 mini cakes and the rest mini desserts. Cake#1: white chocolate cake w/ espresso mousse iced w/ chocolate buttercream Cake#2: lemon cake w/ strawberry mousse (has strawberry preserves) iced w/ vanilla buttercream Mini desserts: plain brownie bites, cheesecake bites w/ raspberry center, berry almond tart, guava dessert cups and mini cupcakes replicating the 2 cakes Photo Credit: Jonathan Allison Photography
This place has amazing desserts! If you are ever in the area stop by and grab a sweet treat! My favorite cupcake is hands down the pink champagne one! We recently got married and they made our wedding cake! I highly recommend them for wedding cake or your future cake needs. They listened well, gave suggestions when asked, and truly listened to everything we wanted. The final result was exactly what we discussed and it tasted amazing! On top of the taste I would say the pricing is very reasonable as well! Highly recommend!
I've been coming to Sugarlips for about 10+ years, and I'm never disappointed in their creations and overall designs. They always exceed my expectations and they're not just design people, the flavor, texture and overall quality of the cake is amazing. I can't say enough about this place, they're professional, courteous and friggin talented! Can't wait for more events to order cake!

We go here frequently on whims for a cupcake treat. On March 22nd I typically order a Birthday cake for my deceased daughter. This year, I forgot to order. I went to just see what in stock cakes they had. We have always done rainbows and the color purple for our daughter. Well on Mar 22, 2023 they had a for sale rainbow cake, and when asked to write on it, without saying a color they automatically did purple. I don't even know if they remember from year to year, but I can tell you that I appreciated that they were ready and helpful, and I didn't even have to explain. Their true customer service through dozens of visits has made me a customer for life. And their cake tastes Great!!!! Go there, buy a cupcake, share with your friends. Enjoy!!! Heck I'll even go with you. Love the staff, love the people, love the product!!! read more

Sugarlips has been such a big part of mine and my children's lives and all our events for the last four years! From rugby cakes to birthday cakes and even gluten free everything! Their designs reflect how passionate Sam is about her work and the pride she takes in every piece she creates! Her staff and their customer service has always been so sweet and welcoming. Always willing to do something new and go above and beyond to please us as customers. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed! The Samoa and champagne cupcakes are my absolute FAV! I am not a frosting fan but theirs is the first I've truly enjoyed because it's light yet complimentary to each cupcake flavor they offer. read more

I got married in March and the venue I got married in works with a couple cake shops, Sugarlips Cakery being one of them. I am very happy I chose them! All ran smooth from booking, to cake tasting, to final touches, then delivery. They are profesional, easy to work with, and all their work looks awesome. It's a really cute business, and you can tell they stay busy. I loved my wedding cake just as I had pictured, and better. I would 100 percent use them again for any dessert needs. read more

This bakery is so fabulous. My husband got me a beautiful and delicious cake here for my birthday last year, so I decided to order a cake for son's party. I sent them inspiration photos from Pinterest of Monster's Inc. themed birthday cakes and pretty much gave them creative freedom from there.. and they executed AMAZINGLY! The birthday cake looked great and tasted even better. Highly recommend this bakery. On top of that, they were able to change flavors last minute for the matching cupcakes - great customer service. read more

YUM! This post is only about their cupcakes, since that is what we came here for. However, from the looks of the cakes that customers were picking up, there are some amazing designs that this cakery creates. I came here on a Saturday for their cupcake happy hour. My niece was having a birthday party and my sister asked me to stop by here to grab cupcakes for the party. They had a large assortment on display, as you can see from my photos. Each month they have "special flavors of the month," which you can find out about by calling or checking their social media accounts. I had called the day before to ask about how busy it gets, but it varies. On the day I went, I arrived 30 minutes before happy hour started, and got the 1st spot in line. When you enter the cakery, there is a small box with cards and designated as the happy hour box. You grab the first card on top and wait until happy hour starts and your card is called. Before starting happy hour, the staff read out the instructions about how cupcake happy hour works. Simply put, all the cupcakes are $1.50 and there is no limit on how many you can purchase. But if you finish your order and realize you need more once you've paid, you have to start all over again. Of the cupcakes we got, my favorites were the chocolate vanilla and the red velvet. For the price during happy hour, it's a great deal! The cakes were moist and the frosting was delicious! Not too sweet and just the right amount of softness. I do wish some of the cake flavors were a little more flavorful, especially the nutella cupcake. You couldn't really taste the nutella in the frosting or cake, even though the presentation was amazing. Overall, a really cool place to grab some dessert or to order some beautifully designed cakes for a special occasion! read more

I have purchased numerous birthday cakes, a wedding shower cake, and a baby shower cake here! We LOVE this place! The staff is wonderful and has worked with us on some very unique designs (a movie popcorn bucket, a Harry Potter Ravenclaw cake, and a multi-tiered Mad Hatter's Tea Party cake! We also stop in for cupcakes whenever possible and love their themed mini-cake take home kits during the summer. My daughter always asks when we can get one again! If you are looking for the perfect place to design/make your special occasion cake you found it! Hands down the best place in Arizona! read more

Last year my daughter had a tooth extracted at the dentist because it wasn't coming out on its own. She was very dramatic over the experience but left with her tooth in necklace case to put under her pillow for the tooth fairy later. After the dentist we stopped at Sugarlips Cakery, my favorite local bakery to get cupcakes to bring to my sister on her Birthday. Once we got to my sisters, my daughter realized she dropped the tooth at Sugarlips. I called Sugarlips and apologized for the weird request but asked them to look for tooth. The lady was very sweet on the phone and said she would look and call me back. She called back later to say they couldn't find the tooth, but they wanted to give my daughter a special treat for losing it and asked if we could come back tomorrow. Later that night, I did go back to their parking lot and with the flashlight on my phone- I found her tooth on the concrete! Sugarlips called the next day to remind me they had a free treat and asked how it went with no tooth. I told them I actually found the tooth, so all was well. They said they still wanted her to come into the store after school to get her treat. I was expecting her to pick out a free cupcake, but what they made was so much more special! They made her a perfect custom tooth cake - just for her! And they gave her a little ball of white fondant so she can mold her own sweet tooth with it. My daughter was having a difficult week after starting a new school and having the tooth pulled - and this brightened her day! The thoughtfulness of this gift was appreciated beyond words! It was also delicious!!! (As all their treats are!) I could honestly write 3 more pages about the many other amazing experiences I've had here. The summer fun theme days have always been amazing. They paint the kids' faces, have crafts, themed cupcakes, the staff dresses up and interacts with the kids - it truly is phenomenal! Every cake and cupcake I have purchased from here has been delicious (I LOVE the cake in a cup in particular!) During COVID - they had take-home cake kits with youtube links on how to decorate them. This kept my kids busy for hours, and they were always SO YUMMY! And, every time I've asked - they always donate gift cards for my children's school fundraisers! I could go on and on and on...this will always be my go-to place for sweet treats, and a great reminder that when you support local businesses, they support YOU! read more

All I can say is WOW!! After our experience a few months ago, the owners went above and beyond to make it right for us! They offered to remake a cake for us and we took them up on the offer for my daughter's birthday today and THIS is the Sugarlips that I fell in love with 5 years ago! The cake is moist and the buttercream is like silk! Like I told them today, I will ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS use them for all our cakes, hands down this is the best bakery! read more

Our daughter and new son-in-law found Sugarlips Cakery for their wedding cake needs. They enjoyed the in shoppe cake tasting and selection of wedding cake styles. This bakery matched the photo of a cake my daughter fell in love with. The entire staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with our decision making. We even added a cake layer and they quickly made an addendum to the contract. We dropped off artificial flowers after they gave recommendations for how many we needed to get the effect we wanted. They delivered and set up the cake in the window of time promised. This vendor never caused us a moment of stress or anxiety before the wedding (not an easy thing when planning a wedding). Our only regret was that we got too busy to even taste the cake. As parents of the bride, we will be back for an anniversary cake soon enough. Thank you Sugarlips Cakery owners and staff. We were very impressed with your work! ~Sarah and Vince Fahey read more

Awesome place and I highly recommend! I knew I wanted a 3D cake for my wife's birthday, I didn't know that was what you call them, but I only had a little more than an idea and I was hoping to find a place that could transform that into a delicious cake. When I got to the Sugarlips Cakery I asked to speak to one of the designers to pitch my idea. I was looking for a cake that could incorporate shellfish because my wife is allergic to them and ironically it's her favorite food. I thought it would be fun because this is the only way she could eat shellfish. The designer listen to my story and right away the TALENT was apparent as she expertly visioned a Gumbo soup cake and I love it. She drew up a rough design of a pot with different types of shellfish in a stew. I mentioned my wife is Italian and we agreed on Cioppino soup. As we collaborated back and forth this stellar cake was taking shape and my excitement was sky high. In the final design the cake would be a pot of soup with ladle, French bread, and a sign. It was tough waiting the required 14 days and it was worth it because I was truly BLOWN AWAY! The cake flavors were wedding white with raspberry filling on the top and almond with chocolate mousse on the bottom. The almond cake was seriously delicious!! The frosting was buttercream and the pieces of shellfish, ladle, and sign were made from fondant. This cake was the star of the show in looks and taste. This was also my first time ordering a custom cake from a designer and I will definitely be going back to Sugarlips. You will love this place!! read more
