Food (5/5): If you've never has a chimney cake, you're in for a treat. They're made to order and customizable. More so than anywhere I've ever seen. You choose your base, toppings, additions, and drizzles. I went with the traditional chimney cake with Biscoff cookies, vanilla ice cream, and Nutella drizzle. Outside of the dessert options, which are the way to go for first timers, if you're feeling adventurous, they also have one or two savory options. The chimney cakes are served warm and absolutely delicious. They're filling too so come with an appetite. It's one of those things everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. So cool to have them in Mesa!

I've been here a few times and have enjoyed the pies. But I feel like I've actually had better pies from Village Inn for way cheaper price. I've also been confused before why I was always charged more for the pie than what was advertised on the menu... then I read another review that they charge an extra dollar for the pie tin. I know they see it as a "deposit" as they give you a dollar back for bringing them back the pie tin, but I thought that was more of a refund to the customer to thank them for continued business, I didn't know they were charging me a dollar extra for it in the first place haha! I recommend the company advertise the price of the pie with the pie tin included! I laugh at even having to make that recommendation... can you imagine if a pizza place charged you extra for the pizza box unless you returned it? Just seems like a poor business model, to nickel and dime the customer for a pie tin. Again, just advertise the pie with the pie tin included! For comparison, their key lime pie is $17 (oh wait, $18 with the pie tin...) vs Village Inn at $12 (they include their pie receptacles in the price :). I'm sure the ingredients are probably better quality, but I can't really tell the difference. I like to support small businesses, but can't stand poor business practices with the misleading advertising on the pie prices. read more

I visit Arizona several times a year and have come across this wonderfully delicious pie shop "PIEfection" on Browns Road in Mesa. It is fabulous!!! The selection is exceptional, it will cure any craving I have for whatever mood I am in. I have tried many of their varieties and have loved each one as they use fresh and top quality ingredients - NO PRESERTIVES! Their shop is quaint and inviting. I love their pink and black packaging, so pretty and professional. Each time I have visited their bakery the customer service has been great, they make me feel like an old friend. I learned that they can deliver pies right to my home, I was a little skeptical of sending a pie through the mail but thought I would try it. I have done this a several times for myself and had pies delivered to friends and family for special events. Again, I was very impressed with their packaging and how untouched and perfect each pie came. What a fun gift idea, especially for those who live far from me! My total experience with PIEfection has been great! I will continue to visit PIEfection each time I am in town and will continue to satisfy my sweet tooth and have pies sent right to my front door! Since they like to pay to delete negative comments, here is this post again: Almost every food establishment has implemented an online ordering system to limit contact, yet this place has completely disregarded safety. I was surprised, but I went bc I thought they might still have some safety measures in place. Last year, they had people stand outside rather than going in, so I thought they might do that. Nope. They made no effort to make this experience safe. They did not try to enforce proper social distancing or masks. I saw several people with their mask below their nose and no one said anything. They even had people sharing a single pen without sanitizing it to fill out a useless sheet. And on top of that, people had to cram into their tiny shop to pay. I overheard a worker say they're not doing online ordering bc it wastes time and this way they can make more pies. I find it ridiculous that they would rather disregard safety than maybe just update their website to not be so archaic and make their online ordering system more efficient. Their pies are great but I am so disappointed in how they chose to handle what they knew would be high volume days during a pandemic. read more

I ordered 9 pies for Christmas dinner and heard many good things about Piefection and was very excited to try them. I got busy on Christmas Eve and forgot to pick them up. Much to my dismay, I called them and they were already closed. I left a message around 4:00 but had resigned myself that I was going to have to pick up other desserts for Christmas Dinner. I was so surprised and thrilled when I received a phone call around 6:00 that the owner was on their way to a Christmas Eve dinner, but would meet me at the shop around 9:00 at night so that I could get my pies. You NEVER receive this kind of service anymore and I was so surprised at the kindness she showed. Not only did I get my pies, but every single one of them was AMAZING. They were honestly the best pies I have ever had! I am definitely a customer for life! read more

Today, I ordered the Triple Berry Cheesecake. My thoughts? The pie was absolutely delicious. I've been searching for good cheesecake other than the cheesecake factory. And now I found my shop of choice. I thought Piefection did a great job with their ingredients. The whipped Cream and berries were fresh. The cheese mixture had a great balance between sweet, sour and it wasn't too rich but not underdone either. Good quality tasteful ingredients! And the buttery crust...! Enough said. I received pies for Christmas from one of my clients. We get many gifts at Christmas, but this is the most memorable gift we received because it tasted homemade. It was an apple with fresh cranberries in it and tasted like it also had orange zest in it. It also had a crumb topping and it had all the flavors of Christmas inside. We loved it so much, we went back the next day and ordered more pies for our office. We have now tried about 10 varieties and all of them were exceptional. My husband bought the "fresh" strawberry pie for me for my birthday. He paid $21 for the pie. We were very disappointed. The strawberries were not fresh or sweet. When you cut into the pie it all fell apart, there was very little glaze on the strawberries and the pie was not very big. We were disappointed to serve it to our guests. I found this spot on the Too Good To Go app and snagged a surprise bag for the next day. It's…read morelocated in a semi busy shopping center but I found a parking spot close by. There was one group ahead of me in line and someone else waiting for their order. They've got a case full of cookies and pastries and they looked good. When it was my turn, the gentleman checked my app and filled up a bag with cookies and I was on my way. The cookies are huge: they live up to the name of the place, chunk(y) indeed. I received 4 of their cookies and cream flavor and one snickerdoodle. They were good but very sweet, half of a cookie was enough for me. Love trying out new bakeries especially at a discount and saving food from being wasted. Glad I got to try this place!
