This is the second year in a row I have used Pie Snob for my Thanksgiving pies. I love to cook and bake but pies are not my thing. And, why should I even try when this place is nearby?!? Besides the sheer deliciousness, what I appreciated most was the drive-through they set up in the back to pick up the pies. Pie Snob is a small place with some pretty big and delicious pies. The pies weren't too bad a little pricey for the size but they were good. The staff though was very unwelcoming. I walked in and no greeting and they seemed very annoyed when I ordered. After Husband's birthday dinner, we decided to go get some pie from this shop. I was taught my pie skills by the best, my Gram, so usually I make any pies we want from scratch. But was lazy for Husband's birthday. Anyhow, I have high expectations for pie. However, post pie eating we were left kinda disappointed. Tried the razzle berry. It was okay. The pastry was light and not heavy with crisco. The filling I was not that in love with. Great little joint for a quick treat. I love being able to look into the display to see what pies have been more popular that day. I've been here 2 times and the first time I got the apple crumble pie and the apple crumble pie with caramel on top. Let's just say I came back the second time and got 2 pieces of the regular apple crumble pie because I wanted to take a slice to my gf so she could see how delicious this place is! Everything in the Apple crumble pie tastes like just the right amount. Between the thinly cut apple slices to the perfect amount of cinnamon. By the time you get to the crust you feel like it's an awesome bonus. It also doesn't make you feel like the pie is filled with weird sugars and super unhealthy. I have recommended Pie Snob to a few friends/family: coworkers already and would continue to praise this spot. My gf's first words after taking a bite from her pie was "wow this is really good." I have been to this location about 6 times. There has been 2 occasions when my pie was dry. No moisture in the crust and the filling just thick. I thought it was just a 1 off thing, but when it happened a 2nd time, I was bummed! It's the Razzleberry that I typically order. As for the other occasions, the pie has been pretty good...moist. If I go again, I think I will call ahead to see how long ago the pie was baked to get an indication of freshness. read more

Came in for a pie on Halloween. My wife wanted a pumpkin pie and I wanted her to get something better than one from Fry's. Place was clean, service was friendly and fast. Pie was great. I didn't order ahead but was able to secure one since I went fairly early in the day. Definitely think it's a good idea to order ahead for most holidays and not chance your luck. The pie had a pumpkin face on it and that was a nice touch. Not only do they sell whole pies but also slices. Most up to date selection of the month is on their website. I figured I would be the first person to review Pie Snob's new big-time location! Pie Snob used to be run out of a garage-turned-kitchen in the back of the owner's house, but they've recently been able to open a larger retail location where you can just walk in any time and grab a slice of pie, instead of always having to order ahead. Now let me tell you my story about Pie Snob: I got married in November, and when we originally planned out our desserts we were set on having a small cutting cake and some bomb-ass donuts from a local place in our area. Fast-forward to 2 weeks before our weeding: I called to confirm that our order would be good to go from the donut place, and they told me that they had accepted another wedding which was bigger than ours, so they were no longer going to be able to fill our order... 2 WEEKS before our wedding! I was devastated. Until I remembered that the only thing better than donuts is obviously pie! I literally love pie. Stick a full apple pie in front of my face and it will be done in 15 minutes or less. That's a promise. So when I realized I would actually rather have pie for a November wedding anyway, I immediately knew it had to come from Pie Snob. I frantically emailed the owner and asked if it would be at all possible to have her cater the wedding, and within 2 hours, she had responded back and completely reassured me that it would be absolutely no problem at all. AND our guests were in love with our dessert. We had good ol' bbq from Bobby Q for dinner, followed by Pie Snob for dessert, and it just felt so awesome to share with our guests some of our favorite local businesses in the Phoenix area. Finally, in case you're wondering 'great, but how's the pie?' it's probably the best damn pie you'll ever eat in your entire life. So, looking for something "different" to give as a surprise gift to the staff and some of the patients at a PHX memory care facility, I called Pie Snob to inquire about delivery possibilities (note: they tell you to do this on their website). I'm unable to pick up and deliver the pies myself because I live in Austin, TX. More specifically, I wanted to order 6 regular-size pie and 6 mini pies to deliver to the facility -- and I'd be willing to pay for delivery, no prob. I was told that in order for delivery to take place, the facility had to be within 5 miles of the store. So they looked it up for me, and dang it, the facility is a whopping 9 miles from the store. Oh well. Bummer for me and bummer for the staff and patients. Guess it's back to the Velvet Buttercream for us, where $15 gets us delivery of epically delicious cupcakes. read more

Walked in for the first time - Excited to bring a variety of pie slices home for family and friends to try. I was immediately looked at and treated like an uninvited guest crashing the three employee's relaxing, seated, chit-chat party. I asked one of the girls that stood up if I could get a sampler pie with a variety of pie slices and she said that they didn't do that and asked, 'What pie do you want?" I told her that I was going to look (I hadn't even had one second to look at the flavors yet). I wasn't expecting much, but I had their s'mores pie and it was AMAZING! I loved it! I loved the crust and I loved the texture and marshmallow top! It's also super cute on the inside with all the pink and how quaint it is. The girl at the front was very sweet as well and told me what her favorite pies were. The only recommendation I can make is better drinks. The tea didn't look very good and there wasn't a large variety of drinks either. Either way, the pie is good and the environment is nice! I was craving pie and decided to give this place a shot. It is a hole in the wall type of place that can be very easy to miss and drive by, and the parking lot is pretty small. Initially coming in there did not seem like a lot of selections to choose from (I think they do certain pies for the week or for the day), but the choices they had were pretty great. A slice of pie is no more than $5 and a whole pie itself is about $26. There are obviously cheaper places to go for pie, but if you want a quality slice of pie this is where to go. I purchased a slice of the coconut cream pie and my lady got a chocolate pie. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall the pies were delicious, and not cloyingly sweet like one might expect. This place is a small gem so if you are craving pie, this is the place to go. I'll definitely come back to try other pies they may have on display. read more

The Manpanion is a pie connoisseur. We have visited every pie place in the SF Bay Area. So far, we find Chile Pies to be top notch. However, after my move to Phoenix, I was on a mission to find an awesome pie place for the Manpanion when he visits. The search is over. Pie Snob is totally legit. In fact, I'd say it's even better than my beloved Chile Pies. Essentially a home-based bakery, Pie Snob is located at the back of the baker's house. It's a full-on professional kitchen that is also available for rent. Unlike most bakeries, Pie Snob is a made-to-order bakery. This means you have to order in advance and pick it up yourself (unless you make delivery arrangements). I always mean to try other flavors, but I can't seem to get enough of the caramel apple pie. The first time I ordered, I always warmed it up a little and had it with vanilla ice cream. Though delicious, I have since learned that the best way to eat this flavor is cold. Yup. COLD!
