I recently tried Pie Snob for the first time. The shop is beautifully designed. There is a wonderful variety of pies to choose from. Every slice of pie I tried was delicious and well prepared. The only one I truly enjoyed was the raspberry pie. My only true gripe is that the pies are overpriced and incredibly sweet... Too sweet. The staff member who helped me with my order was so nice and informative about the pies, and the vending machine out in front of the store is a great way to satisfy that craving in the after-hours. Ambiance: I'm on the fence. I came from the East Coast and my sister came from the West Coast for a rare visit with our father in the area and when I said "I'll be very excited if this place is still here when we return," the girl behind the counter seemed miffed by what I said and said with a slight attitude "We should be." I can see where not knowing the context could make someone take that as a backhanded compliment. In the moment, it really wasn't. I loved the interior and how clean the place was! Quality of product: I'm also on the fence. Red Velvet Cheesecake: crust--the most difficult item to mess up--was divine. The filling was not so fine--it was lacking in flavor and had several big lumps of solid cream cheese in it. My suggested solutions: soften cream cheese before making the filling and add more notes of raspberry and chocolate to the filling to bring out that red velvet flavor! Ok...I LOVE PIE. So we rode our electric skateboards about 6 miles to this location of Pie Snob. I took a video cruising up, I was so excited....kinda lackluster. Not very snobbish. The teenager behind the counter was unethusiastic and lethargic. It's a pie shop. It's 4:20pm on Saturday! It was dead and the pies looked good with nice thick crusts. But...there were 5 pie choices and 2 cheesecakes. After riding all this way, a $5 piece of pie better be amazing. We chose the raspberry cheesecake after much debate and it was pretty good (but it was $6). I go all over the valley and downtown Phoenix to eat and this was mediocre. Why have an actual storefront? In the age of the internet, sell the pies online and deliver. But if you're going to have a storefront, clean up the area and pep up your step....THIS IS A PIE SHOP! During COVID-19: I'm definitely not a pie snob but if the pie snobs believe it's good, I'll give this place a try! And thank god they delivered. First off, I'm not picky with pies since I barely eat pies except for fall season. This place is probably my second pie place I've been to. It was a great experience, however, because it was quick and an excellent choice for dessert. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the two employees who helped us by pointing out which pies were what. The shop is small but straight to the point with pies up front and gelatos were displayed by the cashier. They have classic flavors such as key lime, chocolate, and apple for instance. We ordered two slices, although whole pies are for sale too. I highly recommend the chocolate cake; the flavor was light like eating fluffy cream with a delicate cookie crumble crust. It reminded me of chocolate pudding and oreos. I still think about it til this day! Their key lime is light and fluffy as well and melts in your mouth good. Prices are reasonable. No bathrooms. I remember my first apple pie at this hole in the wall little donut shop. Sweet scent of donuts wafted out to the street tempting me inside. My mom would buy me a donut if I was good. Eventually I wanted to try the apple pie. Donuts were my gateway dessert. Pie Snob has a nice selection of pies. I tried the Apple Crumb Pie. I love how the apple slices are thin sliced. This is a really dense high quality pie unlike super market pies which are usually pumped full of sugar and syrup with a much lower apple content. Crust was crunchy and nicely buttery. Top crust had very tasty sugary bits. Pie had huge apple flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. Being so packed with apples I've had to slice the pieces smaller and it took me a week to finish. I kept it in a plastic produce bag in the fridge to keep that delicious apple aroma from leaking out. One of the best pies I've eaten. On the website I notice you can special order an Apple Double Crust Pie. One of these days I'm going to plan ahead and order one. It's a long drive to Phoenix but it's worth it for the Pie Snob Pie and the Blue Bell Ice Cream. read more

I went searching high and low for a key lime pie for my bosses birthday treat as that was his favorite dessert. I came upon the reviews for Pie Snob and called them 10 mins before they were actually opened, hoping that someone would pick up the phone and confirm. To my surprise, the manager picked up & did confirm that they had some whole key lime pie. I have to admit I had never tried a Keylime pie before this purchase because as a child I overdid my lemon meringue pie's and now for some reason I just can't as an adult look at another citrus pie again. BUT my boss is a key lime pie expert, he came from an area that specializes in them and stated these were the best key lime pie he's ever had. In my option, this key lime pie was surprisingly delicious & not as I'd imagine! I'm dreaming of them now and will be making another trip either from Scottsdale where I work or from the city of Surprise where I live. YES, it was that good!! Holy mother of pie! This pie snobbery business is the real deal. We got four different flavors of pie and each and every one of us loved all of them. We tried the Apple crumble pie, chocolate cream, peanut butter, and lemon blueberry cream. Each and every single one of them was absolutely perfect from the filling to the crust. I knew we had to try this place when I saw the video Hailey P. Posted a few days ago, her pies looked delicious. So, I planned ahead and added an extra hour to my daily work out In order to enjoy my pie guilt free and let me tell you, it was well worth it. Next time, I think I will have to buy a whole pie because well, they are just that good. Ive been Jonesing for some great coconut cream pie for a YEAR: after having the best ever at Rustic Pie in Prescott last year. I saw these reviews and couldn't wait to try it! My review is: very good -and- not so good The Very Good: The filling was home made and DELICIOUS! Very close to my moms recipe which is heaven (bless her soul). The whip cream topping (always my choice rather than her meringue) was from scratch and very good, lots of it too It seemed fresh too- even though the crust (which is my only negative issue) was not crumbly, but a tad on the soggy side The Not So Good: The Crust. In my humble opinion, the crust on a VERY sweet pie like coconut cream should always be classic flour, butter NON SWEET crust. It balances out the sweet cream and coconut flavor BUT! If you are going to do graham cracker (this seemed a very fine texture and pretty sweet-not sure it WAS graham cracker exactly) crust I'd use less sugar and leave it chunkier I ended up not being able to eat the crust at all, and ate it like a pudding by scraping it off the crust. I did enjoy that. But in that case the price -$28.00 was a little high for 4 servings of delicious pudding (yeah- I'm a PIGGY) Hey- Pie Snob, make a coconut cream pie with regular crust and reach out to me so I can try it: Prescott is too far to drive I will try a different pie there though- to try out the regular crust, since the filling rocked! read more

Cute little pie shop with selections updated weekly on their website. Inside is clean, employees are very nice, and they also have a rewards program! I've tried a couple of cream pies from this place. The chocolate cream and coconut cream pie fillings are delicious. The chocolate one is more of your bittersweet, deep chocolate flavor and the coconut one is just heavenly. However, I wish the fillings were paired with more whipped cream topping and better crusts. Both use more of your pressed cookie crust instead of the traditional rolled out flakey crust, and both were on the small side for the price ~$5/slice after tax (mini pies are on the high side as well). I don't mind paying this much for a slice of pie, but would prefer if the slices were then more robust. Still a cute plave to visit when in the area. Haven't tried the cheesecakes yet, so I'll put those on my next to try list. read more

What is wrong with me? Like I don't have enough problems with my relationship with pants as it is. I should've never come here. It's THAT good. Some of my favorites are the key lime, chocolate cream (and I don't even like chocolate cream as a rule) and the cheesecakes. The cheesecakes are incredible. The blueberry is so good because the topping is not that gelatinous, overly sweet pie filling crap. It's perfect. The passion fruit was beyond good. I'm glad I ordered a whole cheesecake on that one...and even more glad my husband wasn't interested. I ate that for days! There have been a few mildly disappointing slices. The cake portion of the Boston Cream pie was a little dry, but the cream was delicious. The s'mores I expected much more from. It was okay, but not great. Don't get me wrong, I still ate them. Joined some coworkers who wanted to celebrate "Pi Day" after lunch so we went to Pie Snob. I got a slice of pecan and also the strawberry rhubarb. The pecan was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The strawberry rhubarb was just like I remembered my grandmother made. A coworker got the orange cream pie and enjoyed it. Another got the blueberry and said it was out of this world. I think put pie is the best type of dessert. I don't eat sweets much, but I do have a high bar for what makes a good pie (since I don't eat them much I don't have time for disappointing pie). This place was great! It's a quaint little shop and the person behind the counter was super patient, friendly and helpful. But enough of that, you want to know about the pie. I had the carmel apple pie with vanilla gelato. Holy crap that was great pie. I feel like most places only put real effort into one part of their pie (i.e. great filling, garbage crust. And don't get me started on how disappointing toppings usually are), but every part of this pie was fantastic. The crust was super flavorful with a great crumb and had just the right amount of warm spices. The apples in the filing were cut and cooked perfectly and had the slightest hint of citrus highlighting their natural brightness.
