    Spaghetti Pomodoro, Bianca Pizza
    Sarah T.

Wow wow wow, this Italian spot if a must try in Laguna! My friend and I had a long morning walk and worked up an appetite for some pizza. Found this spot and it had great reviews, so we decided to give it a shot. It was Sunday after the 4th around 12:30 and we got sat right away. They sat us outside next to the little fountain which was really nice. We shared the spaghetti pomodoro and the bianca pizza, the most perfect combo. The pizza had a phenomenal crust with a good amount of toppings. The spaghetti was such an elevated classic. Pasta was cooked to perfection and meatballs were so yummy.

Came here for my friends birthday. Ambiance is cool and sitting outside is nice. Parking is nightmare so just beware lol. I got the spinach and ricotta tortellini. It comes with about 5 or 6 larger sized tortellini. It was very good and lemony. I also had a tropical coconut like rum drink that I unfortunately can't remember the name of. That was delicious! Tasted like a melted pina colada I loved it. A little pricey but typical for the area I would imagine. There's automatic gratuity for parties of 6 or more.

This place has a beautiful atmosphere and a great indoor and outdoor patio. I loved that the patio is covered from the direct sun while still giving you that beachside feel. It's also very close to the beach, which makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. My first impression wasn't the best because the male host who greeted us seemed very low energy and uninterested in helping us. His tone felt off, and I honestly thought we were going to receive poor service because of that interaction. Thankfully, everything changed once we met our waiter. He was fantastic and completely turned the experience around. His recommendations were spot on. The beef carpaccio was a 10/10, the whipped ricotta was amazing, and the spaghetti was hands down the star of the meal. I was debating between the linguini and the spaghetti, and he strongly recommended the spaghetti. We ended up ordering both, and while the linguini was very good, he was absolutely right. The spaghetti was incredible. The meatballs were soft and flavorful, the pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce was beautifully seasoned, and the fresh basil really brought everything together. I would definitely come back. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service from our waiter.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday around 11:30am. We were the only ones in the whole place for a majority of the time! We sat outside on the patio which was really nice and shaded but also trapped the heat. We started with the whipped ricotta - so different and lovely. Lemony, pesto-y deliciousness! Our waiter also let us know to ask whenever we needed more bread which was refreshing to hear instead of feeling bad asking for more or getting charged. Would absolutely order this again. Next we had the Bianca pizza. This has preserved lemon as well and was quite refreshing and different than most pizzas. We shared between two of us and went home with leftovers (probably because we also had the bread w the whipped burrata). Would order again. We ended with the affogato which was the perfect dessert. Amazingly delicious, sweet but not too heavy. They offer a happy hour and wine Wednesdays as well. Will definitely be back.

Great experience and ambience at Piatti! Located right off ocean Avenue by the Whole Foods. Ended up paying for meter parking, as there isn't a designated parking lot for the restaurant. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose the outdoor patio since the weather was nice. Was able to share apps, pizza and pasta. Loved the diavola pizza, the carbonara and ricotta served with bread as an app. Service was great. Food came out at a reasonable time as well. They make delicious aperol spritz and Negronis.

Super good food! Love the vibes! And the service was great! Highly recommend if you're visiting Laguna beach!

Downward Spiral?? - We had made a reservation and were so excited to return to Piatti yesterday (12/27) for a late afternoon lunch/dinner ~ only to discover that, due to extreme and severe staffing shortages, neither the bar nor interior tables were being used. There seemed to be 3 or 4 people only - trying unsuccessfully to do everything, with tables uncleared and overall restaurant at about 20% capacity. Only the patio was being used - and only about 70% of THAT area.... I fear for the future of this business, given that despite limited customer patronage it will nevertheless have to cover start up, operational and long term expenses. Most if not all surrounding restaurants were actively teeming with post Christmas visitors... We cancelled our reservation and went to nearby Carmelitas instead - which was busy and wonderfully festive.

Best Italian food in OC we have tried so far. We were blown away the whipped ricotta and the linguine di mare. The whipped ricotta appetizer was so creamy and the basil oil it is prepared with was such an aromic and flavorful add. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again and absolutely will order the whipped ricotta. The linguine di mare was also phenomenal. It had a comforting sauce almost that of the same consistency and comfort of soup on a cold day. Unfortunately the carbonara was not a dish I would recommend. The consistency was too thick and the flavor profile was pretty lacking. The espresso martinis were also very solid! I have had better espresso martinis but I very much appreciate how the focus was on the espresso rather than on added sugar and cream. I would order the espresso martini again as well. As for the service, our server was fantastic! She was efficient, fast, and friendly and positive person to be around. I recommend sitting outdoors, the fountain is beautiful and there are a lot of heaters.

Food was 10/10, atmosphere was cool outside / felt shady on a Really hot day, Misa (apologize if this is not how you spell it) did an amazing job serving us, will definetly be adding piatti into our local restaurant rotation .

We stopped here one night after visiting a friend for dinner. First time here, requested inside seating. Lovely cozy ambiance. Very cute decor that does with the Italian theme. Server was great with recommendations and very friendly. We ordered Chicken Marsala which was very flavorful and a pasta dish. Pasta is made fresh in house....absolutely DELICIOUS! If in the neighborhood do give this place a try!

What an interesting little place! The food was actually really good, and I am sad I didn't get more photos. I had the short rib, and it's one of the best I've ever had. We got the ricotta and pistachio spread. We also got a Caesar. The salad was average, but the dressing was clearly Homemade and I appreciated that. It's well-lit inside. Feels really warm and inviting. The reason for the 4 stars? The service was patchy. Our server was very friendly. But the busboys were doing that thing I hate in any restaurant. You have a bite or two left, and are having a conversation, and they ask to take your plate. (I think this happens more when it's slow.) In addition, they would clear silverware and plates, and glasses, and another course was served, and we had to flag down someone to bring us utensils. Just poor execution on their part. The restaurant clearly wants to be a more fine dining experience, but they lack the training of their staff to do so. We will still come back. The food was really good!

The fact that they still had plenty of 8pm openings in Laguna should've been my first warning sign -- every other decent spot was fully booked. Still, it had been a while, and I figured it couldn't be that bad. After paying $20 for parking, we walked in to find the restaurant fairly empty. A nice gentleman seated us all the way in the back -- never a good start. It took quite a while before anyone came by to offer water and bread, and even then we had to ask three separate times before it finally arrived. My girlfriend ordered the salmon, and I went with the eggplant parm, a side of penne with arrabbiata, and a glass of Pinot. The salmon arrived undercooked, and by the time we flagged someone down to send it back, it still didn't come out right. She ended up eating a small portion and some potatoes. My eggplant tasted like something you'd get at Olive Garden, and the penne had no flavor at all -- clearly boxed pasta. I sent it back. For dessert, we ordered a cannoli and decaf coffee. The cannoli shell was extremely hard, and to top it off, the restaurant started playing salsa music -- great for a Mexican restaurant, not an Italian one. I apologized to my girlfriend for such an uninspiring dinner. We paid, walked next door for gelato, and that ended up being the best part of the night. To many in Orange County, this place might seem fine. But I've spent time in Italy and grew up eating authentic Southern Italian food made by people who cared at a restaurant in Indiana-- fresh eggplant, handmade pasta, real ingredients. Most Italian restaurants in OC simply don't measure up, and unfortunately Romeo Cucina proved that again. My first choice was Nick's for their excellent salmon and mashed potatoes, but they were fully booked until 10pm -- which tells you everything. If anyone knows of a truly authentic Southern Italian spot where the owners care about quality and service, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'll keep searching. We had a fantastic Italian meal in Pasadena recently, so I know it's still possible.

He went above and beyond to ensure my friend and I had the most pleasant experience. I made a reservation off open table for Friday night at 6:30pm, and I would recommend you do the same! Their sister restaurant up the street is so great so we wanted to try this new one out. Located on a corner with a wooden front of house and flowers lining the outdoor patio seating it's gorgeous. My friend and I opted for a dirty martini and their sunset drink (they were both super strong!) you get your bang for your buck here. We ordered the Burrata appetizer and it was light and delicious, I just wish it had come with a large portion of Burrata. I had the chicken lemon and it comes with perfectly crispy potatoes! They made this dish gluten free for me, which I really appreciate by it by eliminating the flour. They do offer gluten free pastas as well! My dish was to die for good and I took 1/2 home to eat the following day. My friend had the short rib pasta and it was divine, so indulgent with the juicy meat and the fresh pasta. I left my credit card there on accident and they were so gracious about calling me back and getting my card to me. Thank you for the prompt service! Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those reviews at all. Despite having a reservation, our seating options were either directly on the curb, where traffic and exhaust were blowing toward the tables, or at an indoor table packed so tightly between others that it was difficult to even move without bumping into neighboring guests. More importantly, after placing our order, we waited 45 minutes with no food, no glass of wine, and no communication from staff. No one checked on us. No one acknowledged the delay. We were given no reassurance that our order had even been placed. Meanwhile, multiple parties seated after us were served their meals. We understand Valentine's Day is busy. We are patient people. But being left without service or communication for that length of time is unacceptable. We ultimately left without ever receiving our food. A simple acknowledgment or update would have changed the entire experience. Instead, we left disappointed and unfed on what should have been a meaningful evening. I hope management reevaluates how reservations and kitchen capacity are handled on high-volume nights so other couples don't have the same experience.

Ambiance plays a big role (in my opinion) to a restaurant and not getting to be seated inside or at least on a patio docked some points off for me. For a special occasion dinner, I don't want to be sitting in a parking lot tent. For the price point, I didn't really feel the restaurant quality (plating, service, ambiance) really reaches those expectations. I can tell their food is great, I think I wish I chose something different when ordering. I couldn't tell you exactly what we ordered since I think they launched a new menu just this week but I'll describe it the best I can. Espresso Martini -5/5 Great espresso martini! No notes. Burrata with pesto - 4/5 Light and refreshing appetizer. This wasn't my first choice for appetizer but my partner loves burrata so we got it. It would be really hard to mess this up so I have no notes. $20+ for one tomato was pretty shocking, though. Tagliolini with shrimp and mushrooms - 2/5 To be fair, I've never had tagliolini before so I don't have a reference point of how it should be and maybe it's just not my style. The pasta was thin and flat and very very soft. There was absolutely no bite to it whatsoever and felt like it might be over cooked (again, I'm not expert so maybe this is how it should be). Because of the texture and size it kind of was just one big soft clump on the plate. The shrimp and mushrooms were nice and I enjoyed the sauce but I really didn't like the pasta on this one. And I know plating have any affect of the food but this one seemed really sloppily thrown together and I was pretty sad when it was put on the table. Definitely wasn't pretty or exciting to look at. Pappardelle made w/ beets in quail ragu - 4/5 We really enjoyed this pasta! The pasta itself had a subtle sweetness to it from the beets which made it much more interesting than your typical pasta dough. It had a nice chew, which is what I was really missing in the other dish. The quail ragu was yummy, although we did find a bone but it was large enough to easily pick out and put to the side. Panna Cotta - 4.5/5 Thick and rich vanilla panna cotta with a tart berry compote. Very delicious!

I liked it a lot, especially the tech house, I think all of the DJs that come here do tech house only. The only thing I didn't like was the people who make their way into the audience but then they just stand there and don't dance. If you are going to push your way towards the front and disrupt everyone's flow and rhythm just to stand there and take up space, that's very annoying. Go stand in the back if you aren't going to dance.

The escargot a favorite of ours. Re-used shells ok whatever but at least put a bigger piece of meat in there. The shells were filled with oil and some greens but the meat of the "escargot " was a little bit bigger than a pea! The fresh bread was great. Salad Endive - ehh chunks of ham??? Couldn't parent it better or just cheap meat? Steak was very tough. I had to spit a part out bc of the sinew. Then the frozen garlic butter hockey puck!! How do you expect people to put this or use this when it's frozen solid? The meat isn't hot enough to melt it. Overall you need to do better. Won't be coming back anytime soon unfortunately!

Came here for my birthday dinner! Not crowded at all on a weeknight. Intimate ambiance upstairs +…read moreoutside, plus great food. Food comes out a little slow, something to keep in mind when parking. We ordered most of the menu and loved almost every bite! Standouts were: - Bone marrow: pairs perfectly with the crispy toast. Caramelized candied onions on top were super good, never had anything like that before! - Argentine red shrimp: OMG. Must order this. Shrimp was super tender and buttery, so much good juice coming out of the head too. Great with the bread. - Pork belly and scallops: cooked perfectly and very nice with that white sauce. - Octopus ceviche: very fruity. Different from your usual lime lemon ceviche, big fan of this too. - College dropout cocktail: super acidic and fruity, loved this! Definitely want to come back for special occasions or live music on a weekend!

I get it, for some cocktails it's not the norm, but I happen to be one of those people who love to swirl every drink in a bunch of ice. I've never once had this request turned down. Perhaps a raised eyebrow or two from a bartender but again, never a refusal. Until tonight. The drink was wonderful. Even complimented the bartender on it, but after asking twice.. politely by the way, he still refused. Told me it would somehow compromise the integrity of the drink, can't have it posted that way on social media.. etc., etc.. Pleeeez... don't flatter yourself. Also, I prefer to drink my cocktails, not take pictures of them. All that being said, none of the above mentioned is enough to make me post a bad review if it weren't for ONE thing ..... this guy's SMUG attitude. If it weren't for his stupid, condescending demeanor, I would've just dealt with it and enjoyed the drink.

It is a small and lively restaurant that was full. We started with a kale salad was large and flavorful with a fresh citrus dressing and delicate accents on the greens. The branzino (sea bass) was presented beautifully with a delicious truffle sauce. Deboned perfectly but with a crispy skin left on, it did not disappoint. The desserts were masterpieces in both flavor and appearance. The Oh Beehive was primarily a graham cracker base with a cheesecake-like lemon mousse covered with toasted meringue. The honey ice cream scoop on the side was divine. And the Brown Butter Rum Cake was moist and sweet. The coconut and ash ice cream paired well. A special meal that we'll remember fondly.

The only minor hiccup happened at the beginning. I had called ahead requesting one of the window tables for our birthday celebration because I knew the restaurant has a long, narrow layout where many tables face the wall. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was some miscommunication about the reservation. After speaking with manager Michael, he was gracious enough to work with us and found a solution. I really appreciated that he listened instead of simply saying no. Once that was resolved, everything else was fantastic. Our server Sergio was excellent--professional, friendly, attentive, and paced the meal perfectly. The food was the highlight. We ordered several appetizers to share, including the Hamachi Sashimi, Beef Carpaccio, Roasted Heirloom Beet Salad, Spanish Octopus, and Halibut Ceviche. Every single one was beautifully plated and packed with flavor. None of the dishes missed. For our entrées, we had the Garganelli and the Cavatelli pastas, both outstanding with rich flavors. They were slightly salty, but exactly how I enjoy them. We also ordered the pork chop, which everyone else at the table absolutely loved. The restaurant surprised us with complimentary birthday ice cream, and we also ordered two desserts. The ice cream deserves special mention--it was unbelievably creamy and flavorful, honestly one of the best restaurant ice creams I've ever had. It vanished before I even managed to snap a photo. A couple of things to know before you go: * Parking is difficult, but that's simply Laguna Beach. * Corkage is on the expensive side: $40 for the first bottle and $50 for the second ($10 more for each additional bottle). Overall, Broadway impressed us with creative, beautifully executed food, warm hospitality, and attentive service. Thanks to Michael and Sergio for helping make our birthday celebration a memorable one. We look forward to returning.
