Service was slow, drinks/coffee came out one by one and took FOREVER to make. Food was cold by the time it was brought to table. Pricing outrageous for portion sizes. No one ate their biscuits, very dense and dry. Nothing really outstanding to draw us back for brunch. read more

The service was absolutely horrible. We had to ask from utensils, to sugar for coffee, and butter for biscuits. Not only once but several times until it was brought by someone else other than our waiter. He never asked us if we needed anything else after he brought our food to the table. He disappeared and only came back to ask us if we were ready to pay! Horrible, Horrible!!!!! read more

I struggled for a long time before writing this review because Phyllis plays with the emotions and tears at the nerves. You'll reach the heights of culinary ecstasy, but you might the next moment crawl through the gutters of gas station chicken joint misery. It's a new restaurant with a fantastic story and a very sincere owner, so you want it to succeed. The food is really amazing and the staff is warm and engaging even as they navigate the opening month hiccups that plague any restaurant (or any business just starting out, really). The problem they have to overcome is that they seem to be trying to be too many things at once. They have a poorly (if at all) communicated mandatory gratuity policy, which is just incongruent with their location and the vibe they are trying to establish. People are used to being charged a mandatory gratuity for large parties or at places where patrons serially don't tip. When I'm in downtown Marietta I do not expect to encounter this sort of policy. It's not necessary and just causes friction in what should be an unfailingly joyous experience. Also, they don't serve drip coffee, which just reeks of arrogance for a place that serves breakfast. My wife loves this place, and I have to say it holds a special place in my heart too. If you go, you'll eat well (notice no review says the food isn't good) and almost certainly be treated well by staff. I only hope that the owner takes the feedback to heart and makes the corrections necessary to turn this restaurant with amazing potential into one that is long-lasting as well. read more

Food was good and the waiter was nice just that flying bugs was at the tree that is by the door

I made reservations for Mother's Day as the menu looked great and we love trying new places. My mother and I arrived and there was a line. I advised a waiter we had a reservation and was told they had no tables. No apology, no indication of the wait time. I then learned everyone in line had a reservation. A harpist was playing and singing but it was so loud half the folks were covering their ears. Needless to say, we left and will never go back. The sad part is that I believe no one there cared. It appeared the line was a disruption to the servers. Such a shame! First negative review I have ever written. read more

Standard breakfast menu, especially if you like GRITS! Beats Waffle House. Not many woman today are named Phyllis ( which was my mother's name). read more

Small, intimate setting and fabulous food! Service is friendly, but not quite as timely as I prefer. However, the delicious food makes the waiting worthwhile!!! :) read more

First time trying phyllis since its opening. I made a reservation as i wasn't sure the vibe. it was a much more relaxed atmosphere than expected! we were quickly greeted and seated. service was very friendly. we browsed the menu and had a hard time with all the delicious choices. we opted for chicken a waffles (a personal favorite) and the breakfast platter; with collards and grits to share. portion sizes of the sides were great and very delicious! the food was all wonderful, just like home cooking and then some. the only downside was the pricing. we paid $75 for our brunch! totally understandable in these times with inflation, and they do disclose there is 18% gratuity included in the bill which is appreciated. The chicken and waffles are around $20 but only comes with one waffle.. as good as it was i would opt for another option next time, more bang for my buck! read more

I had the catfish and grits for the second time at Phyllis. Delicious as usual. I'm not really a catfish person, but the catfish there is amazing. The creamy grits are to die for. The service was awesome. DJ the waitress, very attentive and sweet. read more

I'm so glad we discovered this gem! It's such a cozy, welcoming spot with a lot of charm. The food is absolutely delicious--you can really taste the care that Mrs. Phyllis puts into every dish. Trent was an amazing server. He made great drink recommendations and really made us feel at home, like we were part of the family. I highly recommend this place! @carliana.co read more

I have dined here twice. The food is excellent, especially the fish and grits. I also enjoyed the bisquits. will be back!!

The food is too expensive for the serving size. However, the only noticeable item on the menu were the whole fried chicken wings. Very good!

Went to Phyllis for the first time yesterday with friends and it was a very pleasant experience indeed. Service by Renee was fast and pleasant. Food was excellent....biscuits are to die for...Phyllis (who came out to welcome us) makes them herself in-house and was kind enough to give us some complimentary ones. We spent several hours there between lunch and a weekly game of cribbage. Atmosphere is bright and sparkling clean, very diverse menu with a Southern flare. Offers breakfast all day! Only open about 3 weeks so want to recommend this place so it becomes as well known and popular as it should. And they have a full bar! Gerri L read more

The food is so delicious and all of the employees and Ms. Phyllis are super friendly. The catfish and Gouda grits - seriously tasty!

Horrible my steak was over cooked and my daughter's burger came out wrong and 30 minutes after all of our food. read more

Phyllis - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Marietta, Georgia

You might know this place is here, so you need to find it, it's great!! From the pancakes to the fish sandwich, it's great!!

My church group of ladies and I were in today around 1pm to have brunch after praising our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. First of all the serving staff, our waiter especially (I loved the braids in her hair) was wonderful sweet and quick on helping us with your menu. We were delighted on how knowledgeable she was and she suggested a croissant with potatoes for me. She told us about your freshly squeezed orange juice which sounds delightful but today i only had water. The wait time was a little long for our food to be cooked, but listening to your music and being in such a shiny and clean environment made us not worry about the time. She kept making sure we were ok with drink refills etc until the food came out from your kitchen. My croissant was wonderful. The other ladies in my group were very happy with their meals except one that said the potatoes were a little over-seasoned for her taste. But then a woman who I suppose is a owner or manager came out and started being obnoxious and was yelling at both of the servers and towards the customers. She had no manners and a mouth that sensed its been a long time since she's been in church. WE hurried to leave at that point. No employee should ever be disrespected to the point that our server was crying. This person has no reason to own or operate any business let alone a business that deals with the public. My friends and I were looking at your place to hold our pastor's retirement dinner of about 40 people next month, but we will go elsewhere if this person is the owner or management. Again its great service, really good food in a clean environment but with a owner or manager that doesn't need to be working with the public. If ownership or management changes, please let us know and we would be delighted to schedule our party with your restaurant. read more

Loved this place! Food was absolutely delicious!!! My favorites were the sweet potato pancakes and biscuits! Biscuits were compliments of the owner. The service was great! Loved the clean bright fun decor! read more

The food and service was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. The location is a bit tricky but it's worth the search.

I would recommend making a reservation for brunch. It was busy but in a good way! The food was delicious and the service was great! I had a birthday brunch there and we were not disappointed one bit. They did not rush us out and always made sure we had ever needed. They did not shrimp and grits were amazing! The cocktails could be stronger but they were decent. Casual dining, bar seating, booth seating, and table seating. read more

This place is amazing. The staff (especially Trenton) was awesome. Hubby had the friend catfish and grits and I had the shrimp and grits and wings. Sooooo delicious. Highly recommend read more

Set a reservation for 8/11/24, when we walked in nobody greeted us for 5 mins. Once we were greeted a server told us they have two reservations systems and it over-books all the time. It was to be a 30 minute plus wait. I then overheard another waiter say there was a table with no service for a long time. Needless to say, we left and went to Grits and Eggs. read more

Yall!!! This was so good. The staff was super professional. The food was amazing. Drinks were good. It passed the brunch vibe check for sure. Will be back. read more

Food was delicious. Service was good but slow. This was understandable because it was mother's day.

So here you go... from the moment they opened the door for us to the greater being so pleasant and seating us. The waitress TJ was amazing and her service was top tier. I was nervous about the grits (not everyone can make them like me lol) she offered a sample... grits are chefs kiss!!! The remaining stay and food was amazing. It is a bit pricey but it is worth it ... I promise! read more

i went into this restaurant with a group of friends, we were celebrating a graduation from Georgia Tech and this was our last day in town, and this place made it awful. Their yelp page says dogs allowed, this does not seem to apply to guide dogs. The hostess informed our group of 1 sighted person and 4 blind people, only one of us having a guide dog, that we would have to sit outside. it was in the low 50s for the temperature, windy, wet, and raining on and off. This is 2025 and sad that things like this still occur. Our group promptly left and took our business to the Marietta Diner for much better service and we were not told we had to be segregated and told we would have to sit in the rain and cold. So if you plan to eat here and have a disability that requires an accommodation skip this place and you won't find it here. the Marietta Diner does a fabulous job accommodating and has good food. read more

I drove for an hour to try this restaurant and I was very excited about it. I made a reservation for 5 at 11:45 AM. I arrived at 11:40. We were told it would be 15 minutes before our table was ready. After 15 minutes, I noticed that there was an empty booth where we could sit. We understood that they were short staffed so we asked if we could have water while we waited. We had to ask for water 2 more times over the next 15 minutes. We did not get water or menus. After 40 minutes total we decided to walk out. As we were walking out the staff just looked at us and turned their heads. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food because I never got any. After this experience, I will never return. read more

The food was hot, fresh and delicious! The servers were kind and attentive. We would visit them again!

Food is delicious. The homemade biscuits are Devine! We've visited Phyllis' twice and loved the food both times.

Terrible service. Totally disorganized as if they just opened for the first time. Harpist was great but so loud u couldn't talk to one another. Food was good but this may have been the worst dining experience I've had in quite sometime. Food came out at different times for our party. Had to go to bar to get cream for my coffee. We were there nearly 2 hours for breakfast. In fact it took nearly 25 mins to get our drinks after ordering. Won't be back. read more

Sweet potato pancakes and Gouda grits?! Yes please! We were graciously welcomed and sat by the owner Chris. His mother's recipes are the impetus for this gem. Fresh food that's carefully prepared and delicious. We will be back. read more

I was up & down last night. A very restless sleep. Lying there awake, I realized why: I couldn't cease the thoughts of the shrimp and grits; Mama's biscuits; catfish &, get this--the Sunday funday harp (compliments of the lovely Tulani) that I would be experiencing in a few short hours. "Phyllis" is a one of a kind experience and is easily the best kept secret in Marietta. Have dined in the quaint establishment a number of times since it's opening and have been overwhelmed with the food, the service & hospitality are second to none, and now the Music!!! Unbelievable. Tulani is a great, talented, young musician (the harp, believe it or not) and singer (the real instrument) and evidently the friendliness from the top has overcome her as well. A joy to be around. No wonder I couldnt sleep! And now I have only a couple of hours to go... I wanted to express the gratitude a bit before I wrap this up. I spoke a moment ago about the awe-inspiring demeanor of the staff and how it starts from the top. It does. Next time you're in Phyllis notice the entertaining show within the show--Im assuming the black gentlemen the owner, the white gentlemen the manager, and observe the harmony and hilarity between the two. They are in a constant state of focus, yet they laugh with each other like age-old chums. I'm assuming they do a lot of laughing at each other too. It's so encouraging. They are both holdovers from the pizza place and seem to thrive off each others company. The presumed owner can be a touch intimidating, yet his laugh and smile are contagious. The Caucasian gentlemen may be the wittiest, nicest man I've met in Marietta and he is very personable. He asked about our son (he had surgery a cpl weeks back) and we spoke about his physical therapy a few minutes. My wife was enamoured by the fact that he recalled everything about Toby and the sincerity in his eyes when he inquired about him. You just don't see that anymore nowadays. The two of them should collaborate on a book about leadership, as we can't say enough about the trickle down effect--from staff all the way to the customer. It's awesome! But don't be confused: at Phyllis it may start with the two men's leadership, but it's all about the food. And music! Thanks to everyone at Phyllis and see you soon! Bkon appetit! read more

loved the food and atmosphere! our waiter Lee Lee was super sweet and very attentive. definitely recommend this place!
