My first time visiting Miami in 15 years led to searching for a new place to dine. The online menu looked interesting, and it turned out delicious! David, our barman/server, was superb, as was other staffers that assisted throughout the meal. The happy hour menu provided a variety of items to sample without breaking the bank, and every dish was delicious. read more

Really enjoyed the food and drinks! Incredible service from David, Carolina, and Kathy as well!

They were very busy and sat us at the bar first and the drink options were very good. They were attentive and moved us to a table as soon as it became available. I had the short rib which was enough to feed four people. The noodles were also great. read more

Was the food phenomenal? Phuc yea! Was the service exceptional? Phuc yea! Were the vibes, decor, and music on point? Phuc yea! Our party of 7 ordered almost everything on the menu and each dish was FIRE: PY Noodles, Dumplings, Broccoli Bao (my fave), Octopus, Eggplant, Chicken Wings (runner up fave), Papaya Salad, Watermelon salad, Million Dollar Rice, The Duck, The Short Rib, several orders of Tostones (because they were thin and crispy and perfection). Every single thing was fresh and delicious and every person at that dinner loved it all. Tough to find a venue that checks all the boxes and pleases a group - well this place exceeded my expectations in every way. Arionne, our server, took amazing care of us and made our experience rock solid. Get your life together and go visit this place ASAP. And when ppl ask you if it was good, you'll say the same thing as me..Phuc yea!!! read more

5-star food 5-star service 5-star ambience (all with slight twists, explained below). Excellent premium-priced Vietnamese-Cajun fusion cuisine in uber-hip MiMo neighborhood, served with a smile. It ties for funny play-on-words names with another Vietnamese favorite of mine: What the Pho? in Wilton Manors. The food here is actually 6 stars, I dialed it back by one star only because it's slightly too pricey. One of the things that makes Miami unique is the mish-mash mosaic and ultimate blending of a wide variety of cultures and food. The unlikely combination of southern Louisiana crossed with Vietnam works pretty well food-wise here. A couple of months ago, we noticed you could get a sort of kit to do a crawfish boil at home. It came with a huge amount of crawfish, sausage, potatoes, corn, Cajun spices, broth, noodles, you name it. It was AMAZING...I have pirated the recipe at least 3 times since then LOL. Service here is terrific. They brought the couple of pounds of food to the car, and the man even rearranged my trunk a little to have a flat space in the sea of Publix bags, Costco purchases, etc. He not only thanked us profusely, there was a very sweet thank you note inside the bag when we got home. PLUS he didn't laugh at me when I said I wanted to preserve the "new car smell" so I was putting the food in the trunk. Although this time was a takeaway for cooking at home, we've eaten inside before as well. The service indoors is equally stellar. The ambience inside is sorta Saigon meets New Orleans via high-style Miami. It's also in one of the cooler hip neighborhoods in Miami. The space used to be Moonchine, and they've kept some nice touches of the old with the new. read more

This place is not made for Vietnamese. The $65 bowl of pho was a huge disappointment. I've never been so disappointed so far. Nice place but the pho we ordered wasn't so good. The place seems to be pricey. Good think they have a private parking lot in the back at no charge. The smoked short rib does not go well with pho. Don't even try it. They said the bowl can share up to 2-4 people. But I honestly it can feed up to 2 or 3, barely any pho noodles in the bowl. Also one thing I don't like is they charge for water... they didn't even asked if I wanted the water or not. Also auto tips was 20% read more

Phuc Yea you need to eat here!! The restaurant has such a cozy feel the moment you step through the doors. It feels as if you're in someone's house that they transformed into a restaurant. We chose to sit at the bar for happy hour before our reservation. The bar decor really sets the mood. It just has such a homey feel. Service was excellent at the bar. Several bartenders tended to us and it was not difficult to get ahold of anyone even though the bar was completely full. All of the food and drinks we tried were amazing! We loved the noodles, wings, crispy chicken bao buns and dumplings. If you're questioning whether Phuc Yea is the move, it most certainly is. I scoured the reviews and noticed a lot of the negative ones were coming from members of the older crowd. Yes, the bathroom has suggestive art. I personally loved it. This isn't a Chuck E. Cheese, so idk why someone would get mad about art. All in all, great service. Great food. Great ambiance. Side note that should not deter you from eating here: We would've preferred to stay seated at the bar the entire night, but the barstools are those uncomfortable steel stools with no back. I'd still recommend you come early and do happy hour at the bar before moving to your reserved table. read more

2020: came back for their NYE pre fixe menu. They did an excellent job putting together a menu that really took you through a journey of their regular menu. They also had an option to add cocktail pairings but there were a couple of ingredients on there i didnt love so I did my own pairing with the cocktails on their regular menu and still had a fantastic experience. For new year's they provided all tables with paper and pen so you can write down everything you wanted to burn from 2020, and invited you to burn your papers in the campfire they had going outside. It was a very nice way to close out the year. They earned another star from me, thank you! 2019: If spicy isnt your thing, you wont find a whole lot on the menu you can have. The fried rice was delicious and came in a large bowl good for 3 people (as a side). The lychee martini was not very good but they have other specialty craft cocktails that were nice. The bread pudding was huge and moist and had condensed milk drizzled over it. The chicken wings were good but were actually too sweet (and I'm a big sweet tooth). Highly recommend: fried rice read more

Ouch. It pains me to write this but Phuc Yeah was more of a Phuck No for me. *insert sad emoji* The ambiance was lovely, the service was exceptional, but the food was overpriced and... predictable? Nothing stood out. If I were to go back, I would not reorder a single thing. Let me start by saying that my experience is for takeout. I do think that if I had dined in my rating would've been higher. I called them prior to getting there to place my order and the hostess was nice and friendly. When I met her in person as I picked up my order, she was as sweet as she was on the phone. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Dimmed red lanterns welcome you as you walk in from their quite big parking lot (which I didn't expect considering the area). Their outdoor tables, surrounded by plants and bamboo sticks, provide for a comfortable and spacious al fresco dining experience. The inside of the restaurant is also nice, but the magic happens outside. I checked my food as I picked it up, and I'm glad I did because the order was missing the pork baos. I told the hostess and she apologized and quickly brought them over. No big deal. We ordered the pork baos, the py noodles and the Cajun fried rice. The pork bao was weird -- you had to build it yourself. It was just a big piece of chicharrón with the bun on the side. It didn't taste fresh and it was hard to eat. The py noodles, although my favorite, were still just... noodles with a really good sauce. There was nothing special about them. For $12, it was quite small. What shocked us the most was the Cajun fried rice. I felt scammed -- no way we paid over $20 for that. It was just really good fried race! But there was absolutely nothing novel about it, either. If you had told me it was $8 fried rice from a small Chinese joint, I would've believed you. All in all, we felt Phuc Yea had great vibes and overpriced, ordinary Asian food. read more

I really enjoyed what I had at Phuc Yea. Vegetarian options are certainly there and if you like it spicy the roasted sweet potato is a good pick. I also had a modified watermellon salad that was very good. My friend raved about the masitas de puerco done Asian style. Also enjoyed the summer roll but said it was rather small. I found pricing to be a bit on the high side here compared to what you get and some items were just a touch too over priced such as a $10.00 ice tea! Service was very informative, efficient and friendly and the decor inside this restaurant is very unique (loved the little flowers plainted on the ceiling.) You have a few choices of where to eat including upstairs, downstairs or outside. Make sure you park in the back of the building. I enjoyed it and I hope you will as well. read more

Last night we went to Phuc Yea for Friendsgiving and I was so so impressed. The meal started with a salmon roll, spring rolls, and the most delicious Brussel sprouts I've ever had. They were sweet and tangy and soft. Then came a ginger butternut squash soup. I can't lie. Normally I hate soup, but this legitimately warmed my soul. It was the perfect combination of sweet and subdued with some turmeric granola for a crunch factor. Then came the main course. The smoked Turkey. Served with incredible cranberry relish, the best stuffing I've ever had and a piece of squash that was delectable. The portion size was akin to the giant Turkey leg you get at Disney world. The dessert was an in house made pumpkin pie. This was fantastic too. The meal also came with one drink - a pumpkin pie Manhattan that tasted like a holiday old fashioned and was phenomenal. The special above including drink was $55 per person and beyond worth the price. I wanted to update this review as Phuc Yea, during Covid, has done an incredible job of safety, a cooking class with SOME of these items is even set for Saturday all via zoom and you pick up the ingredients from their establishment. They have an email blast almost weekly announcing events both safely socially distanced in house and via zoom. It's always a favorite restaurant and truly deserves some praise. read more

My husband and I were in Miami to celebrate my husband's birthday. After a search of restaurants in the nearby area my husband stumbled across Phuc Yea. His request was to go here for happy hour/dinner. Basically, we went to Phuc Yea mostly based on their name. What can I say? It was his bday trip. We arrived around 6 and sat at the bar. At that time the place wasn't too busy, however, within 30 minutes there was a wait. Happy hour is from 6-7:30 so we ordered a few items off their happy hour menu. Service - A. Our bartender provided us with top notch service at the bar. Food - B. We ordered the edamame hummus which was delicious. Such a different dish. We also ordered the PY Noodles. This dish has great reviews. However, I didn't think it was anything special. We also had the dumplings which were very tasty. I would definitely order the dumplings and hummus again. Overall we had a great evening. My only grip is that it was a pricey dinner. But that is just Miami. read more

After staring at pics of their delicious-looking food on Yelp for a long time, I finally gave Phuc Yea a try during Coronavirus quarantining in April 2020. My initial opinion of Phuc Yea was tasty food but overpriced. I also didn't detect any Cajun twist to their Vietnamese cuisine. Because I'm all about second chances, I saw Phuc Yea was doing a crawfish boil at home in June 2020 and had to give it a try. It came with 2 lbs of crawfish, andouille sausage, corn, potatoes, garlic butter, cajun spice, lemongrass sate & broth plus PY Noodles & Croissant Bread Pudding. Everything was amazing, except I wasn't too crazy about the bread pudding. However, during the pandemic, Phuc Yea has been doing different daily specials which I plan on keeping an eye on & am looking forward to trying soon. read more

The quick summary is it is hard to love. The food is overpriced, the atmosphere is loud, the room temperature was too cold, and the drinks were just OK. Our group had the duck confit, wagyu fried rice (mushy rice and overcooked wagyu), black cod (not served warm), watermelon salad (just watermelon and tomatoes; overpriced), and fried chicken Bao buns (great flavor chicken but buns were underwhelming). All in all it just didn't match the hype. read more

Our first time in Miami, after a long day of traveling from California we worked up an appetite. As we explored Yelp to give us an idea of what to come eat, this place came up and it was still open compared to other restaurants. From the first impression walking into the restaurant we visibly see open tables and the bar area weren't too packed as well. I didn't exactly get the most welcoming greeting and appear to have lack of efforts by the staff. As briefly mention by our server, the restaurant is a fusion/mixture of different combinations and not truly Vietnamese. Great that we were notify ahead of time. We got the pho for my parents to share, the meat was tender which was the only highlight of the dish. $75 market price tag for the flavor and texture of the pho was a big let down. The wagyu fried rice was actually pretty good and better than we expected. Watermelon salad was good and different in flavors, definitely wouldn't mind ordering that again. Overall experience and quality of food, it's not something I would make an effort to come to eat. read more

Our waiter Jon was very nice and helpful with our menu selections. The portions are family style and good to share. We started out with pork belly boa buns that were very delicious and an excellent choice to start your meal. Then for our main course we had the char black cod and py noodles. The noodles are very tasty and can compliment any dish. I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of the cod but my mom really enjoyed it. However that didn't stop me from ordering dessert. For dessert we had the bread pudding with a scope of vanilla ice cream on the side. The bread pudding was good but very sweet so if your not fan of sweets try something else. Overall we had nice experience. read more

Last night at the Michelin Guide 2022 Bib Gourmand award winner Phuc Yea in Miami's MiMo section (Biscayne from 79th street to about the 50's) This Vietnamese Cajun restaurant is just incredible, from awesome lively but unobtrusive tunes, to the service and flavors. A lively joint that takes Vietnamese food and makes it contemporary, fun, and very much delicious. Their cocktail program is unique, with great flavors different than other places. Varied drinks each featuring rum, mezcal, vodka, whisky, paired with fresh flavors, rimmed with smoked sea salt, spice and more. I had the Lucky Cheng their take on a Manhattan with a walnut liquor, served with the hearty short rib pho, an excellent recommendation by our wonderful server. Must gets include; The ridiculously simple yet amazing PY noodles (Egg Noodles, garlic, butter, oyster sauce, Parmesan cheese) The Imperial spring rolls that you wrap with lettuce and mint; and dip in their vinegar sauce. And the main attraction their short rib pho. A fall off the bone 48hour pho spiced Brontosaurus sized on the bone short rib that serves 2-4 with leftovers. Also last night we had the Pork Bao Buns incredible, Crispy Fish Bao Buns(a special), edamame hummus with Tostones excellent, and the delicious bread pudding. All incredible! Service was excellent, Ani one of the owners behind the bar making cocktails, Jonathan taking care of our table, making excellent recommendations always there when we needed him meanwhile service staff proactively removing completed service items, unobtrusively, keeping our table clean. Chef Cesar Zapata with his great team making incredible culinary creations. We offered our congratulations to the team on their Michelin award, it's not a " consolation prize" a place like Phuc Yea, deserves recognition, that's why we keep returning, uniqueness quality consistency it's all there. Enjoyed trying something new and different. I love the relax and cool ambiance of this place. It really helps you relax and enjoy the vibe. The theme continues throughout the menu. The drinks were fantastic especially the Old Fashioned. Drinks were done well and satisfying. The food was outstanding. We got to do various small plates to really explore the menu. None of the items we order disappointed. The short ribs were my favorite. We definitely plan to come back and try the noodles. During our visit they had already run out (that should say something). Updating my review as I have been on the #OrderOutHelpOut mission during these crazy COVID-19 times. While we may be on a shelter in place order, I am happy that places like Phuc Yea are offering both pick up and delivery during these quarantine times. On Fridays, my family and I have been doing a take out night and this week we opted for Phuc Yea. Truthfully, what is not to love? The PY noodles are honestly everything. We got two orders of those for the 4 of us. We also ordered summer rolls, and seafood curry and the green papaya salad. I haven't ordered wrong at Phuc Yea. Truth be told, I think the only way you can order wrong here is by not ordering at all. Not only is the food delicious - I think what makes this place great is the passion the team has. Led by Ani and Chef Cesar, these folks are putting love into every order always- but especially during these times. Everything is completely contactless - you pay online before you pick up, and you call when you arrive to the restaurant so that a team member can put your food outside and you can grab it when they place your order on a table. When we got home, I realized our pick up order came with a thank you note. Really, we should be thanking business owners like them for being able to adapt and offer the community comfort when we need it most. If you haven't tried Phuc Yea - what are you waiting for? Order via their website, as they have different deals and promo codes available when you order directly with them. They also have cocktails to go. I repeat. They have cocktails TO GO. Keep fighting, my friends. Miami loves you. read more

We ordered a lot of plates to share between 6 people. 1. Chà Giò aka crispy imperial roll: it is a spring roll with shrimp and pork. Comes with a sweet sauce. Almost like a duck sauce. Really good. Came in 6 little pieces. Not sure if the cut it like that for our table, 2. Smoked Bone In Short Rib was one of the table's favorite: so tender, so much flavor. It melts in your mouth. 10/10. Also the sauce is wow. Perfect pair with the cucumbers, radish, carrot and the buns. 3. PY noodles: my cup of tea, but my husband didn't like them. Too much garlic and butter/oil for his taste. I personally loved them. 4. Millionaire Fried rice: My husband loved it, I though it was pretty "meh". I was expecting more of the truffle flavor on it. Not a big deal for me. 5. Sweet n sour pork bao buns: This were not as special compared to other bao buns we've tried in the past. Don't get me wrong, they were good, you like them but they were not super extra special. The order comes in 3. 6. Sweet and Sour Fried Chicken bao buns: These were a little bit spicy, but the right amount of it. You are able to tolerate it and actually enjoyed them. This is a must. We liked them better than the pork buns. 7. Watermelon salad: Omg. This was the first time I ever had a salty watermelon, but the combination was amazing. It had a kick, but very tolerable. Give it a try, I've never tried something like this before. 8. Papaya salad: So refreshing, you can't never go wrong with it. No matter where you go, if you eat this, it will make your stomach happy. 9. Deconstructed carrot cake: It was ok. I would have enjoyed and actual cake instead of this crumbly cake. 10. Croissant bread pudding: Hell yeah! You won't go wrong with this. Very sweet, you must share. It's just too much sugar for 2 or 3 people. 11. I almost forgot the Oysters: we ordered half and half from East and West coast. They were really good too!!! Overall presentation of the food was amazing, our server and the service in general was great, drinks were really good, the music and ambiance is definitely a 10/10. This place feels like a little hidden spot and it is so worth to try it. By the way, excuse my pictures, we started eating before I could take a picture. We are definitely coming back to try other items from the menu. read more

First time coming to Phuc Yea and was not disappointed . Staff was so friendly , the music was really good and vibe was on point. Ordered several dishes so that i can try and all was phenomenal. The papaya salad was so refreshing which complimented the savory wings and rib-lets. Was lucky to get to try the special soft shell crab Bao which was delicious. Can't wait to come back and try their Special PHO. The only negative comment t i have is the wait for ordering basically anything. I literally waited almost 35 min for my desert. Not the waiters fault - i just believe there should be more than 1 at all times. Also... please add vanilla ice cream to your bread pudding. That will kick it up 1000 notches. read more

This place used to be good... and then they recently decided to divide the space to have a bar in the front with different food and drinks, likely to increase profits. The problem is they seemed to have just taken staff and kitchen space from Phuc Yea, so there was not enough wait and kitchen staff for all tables and dishes took very long to come out. For a table of 2, there was an over 1.5 hour gap between the first dish to arrive (chef's compote) and when we told them to cancel the last dish (fried tofu, our waitress was so busy and she had told the kitchen multiple times about us still waiting, so she didn't realize it never even arrived). The bao buns were clearly frozen before, but the kitchen didn't even resteam or reheat them for serving. We had two orders sent to us and both were still cold and brittle. Our waitress and the bussing staff were all very polite, but clearly overwhelmed and it seemed like most tables were not getting food orders out timely. While I would like to hope this is just growing pains from them creating a new bar/restaurant within the same space, it seems more likely it is poor planning and trying to get more profit at the expense of making the current staff work beyond what is feasible. read more

Amazing food and service. I would recommend this place to all my friends. The service was fast.

Overpriced pho. A bowl of pho is $39 and is average at best. It honestly felt like robbery. The broth was too watery and tasted like it was boiled for only an hour. First time sat at the bar for Happy Hour. Take advantage of the food items on HH. The PY noodles and Imperial Rolls are must orders. Would not order the edamame hummus again. The plantains served with the hummus were better paired with the ceviche. The cocktails (say gay and bringing home the boys) were tasty and refreshing but definitely a little light on the amount of liquor in them. The bread pudding was delicious but could have been better with a little more coconut gelato - it became a bit dry once the ice cream was gone. Millionaire Rice is also a must. Recently tried this place, and I have to say, the food is not that great. Overpriced banh mi ($25) that somehow tasted like it had freezer burn. The pho was also meh compared to other places but good asian food is hard to come by in Miami. I think if the food was of a higher quality I would definitely consider coming back. This is such a cute spot especially for a date night or even ladies night! I love that they have happy hour specials all night and that their pho is great to share with 2-3 people. It's so worth it! The chicken is delish and it is actual chicken wings not some random meat that makes you wonder. The broth is flavorful and not too salty and has enough spice to clear your nostrils lol. I think next time I may be brave and try the short rib pho even though I'm a stick to what you know kinda girl. The music was popping and gave us good energy to keep the rounds going. For ladies niyou get a free drink ticket but there seemed to have been some miscommunication with our server. With the ticket, only the froze is complimentary. What a great fusion experience! First tip, make a reservation. This place was slammed when we went and was completely booked with reservations that night they said when we checked in for our reservation. There's a small back parking lot which is free and appreciated, but I imagine it gets full so make an earlier reservation for the least parking hassle! We had the garlic crab noodles, and the amazing baked oysters with lemongrass. Neither are to be missed...order both and perhaps one more item for a table of two and you will be set! Phuc Yea is a great place brunch! Now it is a "sore for sore eyes" when your looking at the restaurant from the outside but once inside- WOW. My fiancé made us a reservation on a Sunday as soon as they opened. We had the bottomless mimosa and it was amazing. Our waiter was super helpful in recommending dishes. We ordered the Wagyu Fried rice which was delicious and shareable between two - three people at most. It had steak which was delicious! We finally were able to try this restaurant after driving past and loving the creativity of the name for a while. We saw there was a menu for Miami spice but I opted out since it was three of us and we try to avoid dairy as much as possible (you have to - both people - partake as a pair). Also, you can only do happy hour at the bar ‍ Our server was super nice and hospitable, offering ideas of what to try for food and drink and being sweet to our kiddo too. The vibe was cool with mixed media art and an Asian-inspired lounge vibe inside. We opted to try the XO noodles (since pescatarian), crispy tofu, house made pickles, summer rolls, and some rice. Honestly, I was thrilled to try everything since the theme was Viet-Cajun and a unique take on Asian-fusion cuisine. The flavors were interesting. The XO noodles had a nice even spice to them, but seemed a bit on the salty side and were $30 for a bowl that typically I would pay around $20 for even in Miami. There was also good spice to the green papaya salad, but the fish sauce was super salty also. The "pickles" were all pickled except the cucumbers, which my little one said "still tasted like cucumbers" and at $7 the tiny plate was not a lot. The summer rolls were the best out of all we had, in my opinion. The tofu was not my favorite at all and that was $25 for about 6 or so pieces. My husband liked it, but the mix of coconut, pineapple, spice, curry, seasonings - it was a bit much for me. I understood the assignment of the fusion of flavors, but it was the salt for me. The sake tasted good and I was happy we got to try these cans from Soto. I saw reviews were between 3-3.5 stars and I think this is right on par with my experience. I'm also more used to traditional Vietnamese flavors so maybe the boost of Cajun flavor didn't vibe for my palette, and I realize that could be a personal preference too because I do enjoy Cajun and just not highly salty foods. The prices, also, seemed very high for the portions we had as well. We spent almost $200 without any leftovers to show for it which isn't typical of a visit to an Asian restaurant for me. read more
