We came here to celebrate my grandmas birthday and I will say that everything was delicious! We started off with some cocktails, the espresso martini was decent. The lychee martini was a bit better, my sister had a piña colada and that was yummy. As an appetizer I went with the lobster bisque which had bits and pieces of lobster throughout, quite filling. My favorite dish has to have been the risotto, it was very flavorful and creamy. The presentation of everything was great. The service was good, our server Claudia tried her best to accommodate such a big party of 15 people. What I will say is that they took a while to take our drink order when we first arrived since our entire party hadn't made it yet. Although, I did appreciate that they sat us down without everyone being there. That was very convenient. Our reservation was for 7 pm and we ended up leaving at around 10:30. Overall, I would definitely come back but maybe with a smaller group of people. The restaurant is nice because it overlooks the river. I never write negative reviews but what was initially a birthday dinner my family was looking forward to, quickly became an overpriced, lackluster meal. My family and I chose Casablanca on the River to celebrate my father's 70th birthday dinner. As Miami natives, we had heard great things of the restaurant and thought it would be an excellent place to celebrate my dad who is a seafood lover. The positives: the appetizer and entrees were very good. The negatives: the service and the desserts were terrible. I follow the restaurant on social media. 9 hours prior to our dinner, they posted about a special World Cup menu. 3 hours prior to our reservation, the full $10 World Cup menu was posted. When we arrived, I asked our server about the specials that were posted. She was confused and asked a coworker. Both said they knew nothing about the menu. Our server went to ask a manager and was told that the menu was for the following week. We were confused because June 19th was specifically written on the menu. I do not believe in getting loud with people who handle my food, so we ordered and tried to move on with the evening. We began our drink order. After confirming it was a full bar, we asked for a specialty cocktail that has simple ingredients. They said they couldn't make it. We observed that this restaurant follows the trend of hospitality that does not go the extra step, so we settled on a bottle of Rosé to play it safe. Dinner arrived and it was good. Not extraordinary, but good. The catch of the day, the snapper, the fish dip, and the shrimp escargot were all very tasty. We ordered dessert for our dad's birthday: a flan, a key lime pie, and a crema catalana. The flan lacked any caramel flavor, the key lime pie was a cheesecake masquerading as key lime, and the crema catalana was a soup. It was obvious these were preprepared desserts they most likely purchase through a third party vendor. The server did bring out a slice of guava cheesecake, but it was not fully thawed and very thick. 18% gratuity was already added and the server explained that that was not her tip, an inappropriate thing to say. There was no effort for additional tip so none was given. The server did not appreciate that and she had no problem showing it. As a family of people who work in hospitality, we did not receive any type of service. Our check was over $500, a cost I happily incur when it is merited. Next to Seaspice, Kiki, and Bagatelle, why would anyone opt to spend their money at this restaurant? The server stated she spoke to a manager earlier but looking around there wasn't a manager in sight. It was clear the property lacks leadership to set the bar of service higher and it showed in the low bar of service received. They just rely on the view to attract business. Fabulous Father's Day! I've been to Casablanca many years ago and really enjoyed it so when Father's Day came around, I was quick to say yes after seeing their incredible special! For just $60++/pp, their Father's Day brunch included an incredible buffet, bottomless drinks, a DJ, and domino tables...I couldn't pass this up. The staff were incredibly kind and asked us if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating. The day was so beautiful and the view of the ocean is so nice that we sat outside. Our server was INCREDIBLE and highly attentive! I wish I could remember his name because he definitely deserves the spotlight here. Our glasses were never empty, our table was never dirty, and the conversation was easily flowing while also giving our family space to talk. I figured that with such a great price the buffet would be skimpy but boy was I wrong! The food was organized in a way that people didn't have to cluster together as they were spread out into sections. The sushi bar had an incredible variety of fresh sushi and seafood salads, there were hot plates of delicious foods and carvings stations, plenty of child-friendly options, and a long dessert table with plenty of variety. I helped myself to the sushi TWICE! At some point during our brunch, a photographer came around and took beautiful pictures of our family and printed one complimentary for us. What a nice touch to remember this day! And before leaving, my husband was given a fedora to go with the Latin vibes of the theme. I rarely leave bad reviews but they upset me so much I just have to. As a Miami Native I must call this out! I have been going to Casablancas for as long as I can remember. It's been a great spot right on the water, perfect place to take when I have guests from out of town. It's sad to say, This time was probably my last time. I received the bill and fought to pay for my guests. So I did not even look. Instead I let the waitress swipe my card and simply asked her "is gratuity included?" She said "no, my tip is not included". When I look at the card payment screen I see that It is higher than expected so I ask again about the tip and then she says again no tip is included for her. I ask for the bill. I now see It is clear there is 18% service charge. I point out the 18% and she says that is not her tip, that is the restaurant service charge. And then we tip on top of that. That's weird I thought. I ask to speak to the mgr. The manager comes and actually to my amazement he explains the 18% service charge is for all the employees there including the kitchen staff. What, WHat, WHAT!!!??? So now I am coming and paying restaurant prices for food and then on top of It I am expected to pay 18% for the restaurant to operate and then I should tip my waitress for taking my order & serving me!!!??? I have worked as a server and bartender in Miami on Lincoln rd until year 2015. When I worked as a server and bartender I would split my tips. I would give a few dollars to the hostess, a cut was for the busboy, Bar back & dishwasher. But that was a given and came out of my tips. Understandable and I believe all restaurants still do this. Out of my average 18%-20% received, I would keep roughly 12-14% of my sales. But here they MANDATORY add on 18% (I asked to remove and they denied). And then on top of that what does my waitress make???? I only had to give $40 cash out of my pocket in addition. So basically at the end of the day I paid my bill plus 18% for the staff and $40 cash (roughly 18% more) for my waitress. I did this in cash because I started to think how they are operating. Maybe the managers are keeping some tip money from credit cards. So when you go here, you end up paying your Bill plus 36-40% if you want your server to receive a tip!!!!!!! I never heard of anything like this before and I lived in Miami for 45 years! There should be some kind of hotline we could call in Miami for restaurants taking advantage of customers and their employees. read more

We usually come for the view, but large boats and yachts are allowed to dock right in front of the seating areas, completely blocking it. This was a major disappointment. Their water they offered had some weird tiny black specks in it. Did asked them for a new glass and there was still black specks in it, ended up not drinking the water all together. Went to Casablanca this week with a group of friends. The atmosphere on the patio was fabulous, it was a very pleasant evening with a water view from our table. We had several apps starting with the ceviche, calamari, shrimp cocktail and octopus. The ceviche , octopus and shrimp cocktail were nicely done. The calamari was average at best. For an entree had the grilled branzino and it was very nicely done. Although our server was slammed she did a pretty good job. I will say it was spring break so you can imagine how busy it was. I had lunch next door at Garcia's and came over to Casablanca for a cocktail afterwards. I cannot speak to the food although I will say everything that went by me from the kitchen looked amazing and the smell of the fajitas would draw anyone's attention. Smelled incredible. They have a beautiful patio and bar on the Miami River. I wish the bar faced the river though, you had to turn around to see it while seated. I ordered a mojito. It was small and a bit pricey but great ambiance. Tasted okay compared to others I had had on this trip. The service was so so. They looked slightly annoyed to have to serve people. I also noticed a bunch more bugs buzzing around. I didn't notice them next door, just at Casablanca. Not sure what was causing that. read more

For my first time at Casablanca, I was totally disappointed with the service and the food. I had received a text to say that our table was ready. However, when we arrived, I was told it would be a 20 minute wait and then told the hostess that I just received a text message saying that our table was ready - another girl came to the hostess stand and heard what I had said and led us to our table almost immediately. Our Waitress finally came to the table and asked us if we wanted any drinks to be ordered first - we all just ordered water and one of my guests wanted a glass of wine. I'm not sure exactly how long but a glass of wine took about 20 minutes to get to our table. We did receive the complimentary fish dip and chips which was pretty decent. Thank God we had that to nibble on while our food was being prepared. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled octopus and the tuna Tar tar. My octopus was burnt yet undercooked way too much potato and not enough octopus for $20. the amount of octopus you get is a bit of a rip off. The Tuna tar tar I tasted, and that was absolutely delicious so I'll give them a point for that. After finishing our appetizers, we had to wait another approximately 10 minutes for our waitress to come back to our table to see if we wanted to order our main meals which we did at this stage. It had already been quite a long time since we had sat down. I ordered the salmon grilled with scampi sauce, yucca fries, and house salad. My dining guest he ordered the grouper along with the salad that came with it. The other gentleman I was eating with did not order any main course. After waiting approximately just over 75 minutes we still had not received our main meals. There were promotional girls walking around with trays full of shots, which I actually saw our waitress take a shot and she saw me see her take a shot - while she was working which I find is very unprofessional. It was nice sitting by the river, watching the boats, go back-and-forth. The atmosphere was nice - really the only thing to keep us occupied while we waited for our main meals. I was really hoping that it would be a good night out but unfortunately, my salmon was overcooked and under seasoned. The scampi sauce and yuka fries were tasteless and also under seasoned! Agree 100% with Abraham as a 2nd generation native Miamian CUSTOMER who has been eating here since the mid-1990s and shopping for fish both at their Watson Island boat location and former onsite fish market, I took 2 out of town friends there on Sat 4/5/25. The server and hostess said the new owners insist the 18.36% service charged automatically added to the check is for the house service, ie assuming pooled tips for all staff. And the inference is we have to top the server separately so that would be approximately 36% on top of food/drink? I won't be taking my business there again! read more

Excellent food and excellent service! I came here for a friends birthday, it being my first time, I honestly didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. On arrival we ordered the Seafood Ceviche $18 with a side of tostones $7 and Lychee Martinis $16. All cocktails are $16 and all after dinner drinks are $10. The atmosphere was nice and inviting, a very relaxed vibe. For lunch I had the Shrimp Scampi with mashed potatoes, while the others in the table had the Lobster Thermidor, and another had the Salmon. All were well prepared and delicious. Finally, for dessert we had the Guava Cheesecake which, as well as everything else we tried, didn't fall short of mouthwatering. I can say with certainty that I will be coming back to try additional items from the menu as well as these now favorites from my previous visit. Alberto, the bartender, was awesome. The pineapple martini was good, but the strawberry caipirinha is way better made with a Brazilian rum. They give you a basket of chips with tuna dip, and you don't have to ask for it. It was good and the dip wasn't fishy at all. My kids tried the virgin strawberry daiquiri which they enjoyed. Everything we ordered was good. However, the crab stuffed shrimp can be better. The shrimp aren't big enough to be stuffed so the crab just sits on top of it. The shrimp were salty and the crab was not loaded down with any type of breading which was great for me. The steak ordered medium was perfect but the steaks ordered medium well were a bit on the medium side in the middle. The garlic sauce served on the lobster was really good. The shrimp and lobster Alfredo pasta was the best and the seafood pasta was good as well. The grilled octopus was tender and not chewy at all but 2 pieces would have been worthy. The conch balls are ok. I couldn't taste much conch. My only complaint is that while the stuffed shrimp and seafood pasta were a bit over salted, the steak was a bit under seasoned. A downgraded experience tonight. Valet is $10. Better park yourself nearby. The host was absent when we got in and we waited for a few minutes. Not a huge deal breaker, but normally we are instantly greeted and seated. After they appeared checkin was a breeze. It was busy tonight, a Tuesday. Perhaps holiday season. Their was quite a rowdy boat docked with loud music and running engine that had fumes affecting our seat outside. Management tried to ask them to tone the music down, but still let them be obnoxious. They almost hit a boat while parking and hitting then dock again when leaving. The seemingly intoxicated 20 somethings had no manners and spoiled the mood for more than just my table. At least turn your engine off while other patrons are trying to eat. The fish dip freebie is still outstanding. They do charge $1 extra if you request another. Not a huge deal. Worth it and probably cuts down on abuse as wastage. Four large crab legs rang in at $65. They were good, albeit pricey and a bit more than was quoted by our waitress. Oysters are a steal here. A dozen for $18, but not greatly shucked and lacking some flavor. My lobster ravioli and shrimp looked fantastic and was reminiscent of my go to dish in the past, but the seafood quality seemed diminished tonight. Shrimp was lacking flavor. I couldn't recognize the lobster in the ravioli. This has been one of my staple favorites in Miami for a while, so it's hard for me to give it a two star drop. Tonight it teetered on a three star drop. Rounding it up as historically it's been fantastic. Every place can have an off night.
