Hmm, my first experience having pho in Texas... not too impressed. I got a bowl of chicken & veggie pho with extra noodles & pork egg rolls. The first things I noticed was that they charge almost $3.00 for one egg roll, so for 2 thin and skinny rolls it comes out to $5.75 kind of a ripoff! I thought maybe it would be 3-4 pieces, my husband thought that was too much as well when he ate the other piece. I should have taken a picture of them, the lettuce to wrap around them was also skimpy :/ not big enough to wrap around even that small eggroll....but okay, next thing... I was going to put the toppings into my soup, you know the green or white onions, cilantro, hoisin sauce, jalapeño, lime, sriracha, OH WAIT... I couldn't because I didn't get any with my take out order instead it had some thick red onion in there and the other veggies like carrots, bamboo shoots, zucchini, baby corn... The flavor was okay, but obviously it was more bland because of the missing condiments that I'm accustomed to having. The amount of chicken was also lacking. Came in before going on a shopping spree in the area and was delighted to see that we were right around the corner from PhoNatic so we had to stop in. Super easy to park, spacious restaurant, and friendly service was very noticeable when we walked in. We were there around lunch peak time and there was plenty of seating both inside and outside to choose from. I decided on getting the Pho-Nomenal Combo with a half bahn mi (grilled beef) and half portion of pho. It was the best decision as it allowed me to try the best of both worlds from their menu. My partner ended up getting the full portion of the grilled pork bahn mi and it was a handful to get through (portion was large!). We really wanted to the 'bahn mi' sliders but they ran out of sticky buns so we were unable to try that. This just means we will be back again soon to give it a shot and maybe get a few more things that are new-to-us to try. Cannot wait to come back through and try some more food! I have been eating at this location on and off for years. I always felt that it was missing something, but I didn't know what it was. Maybe it was the fact that the employees were never welcoming and always seemed to be just barely tolerating the presence of customers ... or maybe it was the fact that going to the restroom felt like you were in a labyrinth analogous to being in the back room of a Brooklyn bodega. Anyway, the service is passable, I guess....although, I don't think I have ever heard any of the following remarks from any employee despite consuming at this location for years: "Hello" ... "Welcome " ... "How can I help you?" ... "Thank you" ... "Enjoy your meal" ... and I'm not exaggerating. But I digress, I came here to say the following: "Eat at this franchise at your own risk. I have a strong suspicion that the Round Rock Phonatic location gave me a bad case of food poisoning." I have always wondered why California and some other states require restaurants to post health ratings on the door (or somewhere prominent). I then decided to look up health scores for both Phonatic locations. Suffice to say, neither location performed well. Check for yourself and go to the website for: Williamson County and Cities Health District. There are so many pho options in the Austin area/RR area to try. Needless to say, I will NEVER again eat at another location of this franchise .....and remember people: Start checking out the health safety ratings of the restaurants you're eating at before you go. I don't eat meat, so I was a little undecided about what I would eat; however, the waitress at the counter took her time with me and had no problem explaining everything to me. OMG! Sooooo good! When I moved here to Texas, I did not think I could find good Pho here! Boy, was I wrong! I just ordered their Pho Ga (Chicken, noodles, Thai Basil, Bean Sprouts, Jalapenos, and cilantro with broth). It was even BETTER then some places I tried in "Little Vietnam" in Southern California! I ordered it thru Uber Eats, and it came perfectly packaged! The broth came in it's own round cylinder container. Then, the noodles (*I got extra..for a $1.25, worth it), the chicken and cilantro in a bowl. Inside the bowl, in a package was the bean sprouts, jalapenos, and Thai basil and Hoisin Sauce (*get extra...makes it soo good)! When you add all the ingredients together, let it "sit" for a few minutes. It will let the noodles soak in the broth! It was soooo delicious! I will order from them again! read more

I know this may come as a surprise to you, but I feel I should take this time to explain myself and let you know why. First, over the last few months, I have come to you for food, specifically ordering my 403 from you, and you have either placed little (1) or no shrimp at all in my dish. Today, you did this to me for the last time. I had no shrimp in my dish. Aside from this, you are not keeping yourself up. Case in point, when I came to see you today, there was debris all over your floor and your floor was sticky in many areas throughout your space. Why would you do this to yourself? Today at 4:15PM you were filthy, and you had two employees working there who didn't seem to care that you looked this way. Last week when I ordered a to-go order from you, you charged me a packaging fee of 3%. What the %^&*, you never advised me your were going to start doing this. Why are you charging me that? I understand that taking food in containers costs money but why place that fee on to me? I included my receipt to this letter in case you pretend to get amnesia and claim you forgot you charged me that or play naïve as if you were unaware this was going on. Please don't respond to this letter with an excuse that all your other friends are doing this (e.g., McDonald's, Panda Express, Popeye's, etc.). If your friends jump off a bridge, would you do that too? Today you had one of your employees making my food and she wasn't wearing a hairnet. You know better than that. Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER) requires that food employees wear hair restraints that are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting exposed food. Last, today when I paid via credit card (as this is the only method of payment you will take), the cashier flipped the payment screen around for me in order for me to sign my tab and she had automatically pressed the 15% tip button. Are you kidding me? I know this was done intentionally thinking I wouldn't notice and just pay the added 15% gratuity. I turned the tip button to 0% upon signing for my food and left no tip. Usually restaurants give you half a lime. They give you a quarter! You also had to go back to the counter to get Sriracha and hoisen sauce(probably covid related). The com thit was nicely cooked. Now, the Pho was really good I gotta say, they really piled on the tripe n the Tendon was very tender n in Ginormously generous portions which is what I Always look for!! I wasn't AS I pressed with the sliders as I was the first time I visited. I think it was the aioli. This is the first place I choose to eat after moving here, and honestly the last time I will ever eat here. The broth was very unflavored and watery, didn't even taste like it had any of the spices in the broth. It didn't even taste like pho until I started to douse it in sriracha and hoisin sauce. The meat was okay the tripe was so over cooked and dry. I had big hopes it would taste good but just feels like a waste of almost $40 for two bowls of just watery noodles. At least they gave me the peanuts. I paid $16 for a bowl and order of egg rolls. I can get the same thing for $6 cheaper at most other pho places in Austin or Round Rock and they actually include the mint. Next time I want Pho I won't be returning to this location. Nothing is worse than having the feeling of something crawling on you while eating. my daughter and I were in the area for doctors appointment and stopped at this location after a doctors appointment. mid eating felt something crawling on me and I flinged off a 2 in roach that landed on my 7 yr old. There are so many great Vietnamese places in Round Rock and the surrounding area. When I think of PhoNatic, I think of a streamlined, more approachable version of Vietnamese food. We order from PhoNatic often because I can order online and then go pick it up. Not all Vietnamese restaurants have this option. My husband gets the Grill Bowl with Lemongrass Beef and rice. He always enjoys it and devours the entire bowl. My son gets the Kids Grill Bowl with Lemongrass Beef and Noodles. Depending on his mood, sometimes he just eats the meat, sometimes just the noodles. On our last order, he was just in a noodle mood. I was surprised at how much eat he had. We saved it for leftovers, and I ate the next day for lunch with rice. The beef is tender and flavorful. My wife and I came in and I must say everyone was super friendly. I will say I was kinda in a funky mood so them being so friendly kinda put me at easy. The guy who brought our food out was funny if you can make my wife laugh then you got Brown points with me and he did just that. While waiting on food went to restrooms that were pretty clean. Drink fountain isn't your usual coke or Pepsi drinks but tried 3 different flavors and they didn't disappoint. Had some dirty forks and the napkin and the hand sanitizer dispensers were pretty dirty and dusty. Made me not wanna touch them. (Take with a grain of salt though because it could be just a one off situation) I had the Brooklyn Bowl which I'd definitely come back and get again, but I'd do the rice versus noodles. My wife got pho chicken & shrimp soup bowl. She enjoyed her meal but was definitely more jealous of everything that came with mines. I'm not really sure why this place has such low ratings because my friend and I had an excellent experience. It's a casual modern looking restaurant where you order at the front before sitting down, which is a little different than usual. There are some store-bought Asian drinks to the left of the counter, and also a really yummy pre-made Thai tea option that you can order at the counter. Sriracha, oyster sauce, and a chili paste are all available on the tables for your convenience. I ordered Pat's Plate and was overall very satisfied with the large portion size, the marinade of the pork shoulder, and how well the topping were all displayed on top. I actually really appreciated that this was all served in a bowl since I normally cut everything up to essentially make fried rice and mix in the "carrot sauce", which gets messy. The shredded carrots were already in the bowl and the rest of the sauce was on the side. Oh and it also comes with a long egg roll. I left with an entire take-out bowl of leftovers! My friend ordered the brisket pho and it was also a very large portion. It came with the bean sprouts, lime, and basil on the side like it traditionally does. I thought this was pretty on par with other pho places I have been to; it satisfies the craving, but isn't anything memorable. This also comes with an egg roll on the side. We ordered the banh mi sliders (2 per order) to share and these were yummy, but didn't remind me of banh mi. Something about not having the baguette bread made more of a difference than I thought it would, but the steamed buns were a creative idea. I think the meat was the same or very very similar to the pork shoulder in my rice dish, so that was upsetting. read more

I love how they do the to option, you still feel like you're getting the big bowl dining experience.
