    Lunch special.

Great lunch special. I ate the pho and took the bahn mi home. Cozy place. I'll try the grilled chicken next time.

Hello! We have eaten here several times. This particular time we tried the Banh Xeo and the fried chicken wings. In reverse order the friend chicken wings were great and the Banh Xeo split the jury, ranging from very good but not the best I ever had, to "just the way I like it, super crispy!!!" I will post a follow up review of our other visits and the cuisine that we tried. Of note, this is a functional dining experience. Also the service was very friendly and attentive. More to follow.

I ordered the beef Pho Tai and the egg rolls from Ho's Kitchen. The egg rolls were absolutely delicious: crispy, flavorful, and surprisingly filling, which I really appreciated. I would have preferred a different sauce to pair with them, but honestly they were still 5 stars on their own. The Pho Tai was just okay for me. The portion of beef was generous, which I liked, but I felt like the broth didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. Overall, it was a solid first experience. I'll probably give this spot one more try to see what else they have to offer!

First time visit. I had a craving for a Banh Mi, and this would be my wife's first time eating Banh Mi. We ordered two of them, both with no Jalapeno's. Sorry, so hungry that we ate them before I had time to take a picture. They were great. My wife was apprehensive, but became a new fan. I added a little Sriracha to spice mine up a little. I work nearby, so this will be added to my work lunch places. We also had an order of Vietnamese Egg Rolls with fish dipping sauce. I usually don't care much for that sauce, but I loved it. It was a little like the clear Thai dipping sauce that I've sometimes had. A little sweet and acidic with just a little spice. Service was good, friendly and fast. Will be back soon.

I have been here a number of times already but this is me actually putting in a review! The pho is pretty good but man.. what keeps me coming back is the chicken wings! I usually don't buy chicken wings at places that don't truly specialize in it but these was smackin' the chili oil and flakes.. geez. I can't get enough of it. The service is good as well! The workers always greet me and take their time getting my order down. I hate that the number isn't logged onto the Google maps so I can call ahead so I just took a picture of the door and call them that way. The first pic is from the very first time I went with a friend - those wings didn't last ten mins

    Pork banh mi

I reviewed this place a month ago and now have come back for the banh mi, a French-influenced sandwich. It was the best I've had since Lang Van in Arlington. The key is always *fresh* bread and this was superb. The family that runs it only speaks Vietnamese, but the front staff are good about carrying good news back to the kitchen.

Solid selection at ho's kitchen when we stopped in for dinner last week! They've recently opened in this new development close to our house by lakeline area and we absolutely love having Vietnamese food options in such close proximity. The kids pho was pretty solid, and hubs rice plate and my vermicelli bowl were both pretty good. The waiter did not get our order right as we ordered a bahn mi to go and we ended up with yet another vermicelli bowl that we had to take to go. We didn't make a big deal but they weren't very on top of service, I had to ask for waters after we ordered to remind them, the check out was swift so I'll give them grace as they're still working out the routine. This place has potential and I hope to see them thrive and kicking off into the groove of things. I do wish there were more veggie options like tofu but everything was still fun and delicious.

Excited Ho's Kitchen finally opened up. We stopped by to pick up our to-go order as we were in a rush and could not do a sit down dinner. The restaurant has an outdoor space so I suppose when the weather is nice, they will have outdoor seating available too. In terms of food. Everything we got was pretty good. Flavor of the grilled pork is on point and has a nice charred flavor, as a traditional Vietnamese grill pork should. Grilled pork banh mi sandwich - 4.5/5 there's a nice ratio of meat and pickled veggies and jalapeño to sandwich. Like I mentioned earlier, their grilled pork has good flavor and the meat has a nice chew but not tough. Pho Bac biet- 4/5 I thought they have great and good meat, to noodle and broth ratio. The soup was a little bit salty for us, but was not a problem as we were eating at home and added a little bit of hot water to to balance the saltiness. To go order it came with all the side veggies and sauce. Grilled pork vermicelli - 4.5/5 very refreshing dish. Again, very good grilled pork and a plus that they have good fish sauce to go with the vermicelli mix. Thumbs up for everyone in our family who have tried it. Spoke to the owner and they said they will be making updates to the menu and will be adding more meat options for their banh mi and vermicelli in the upcoming weeks. We will return to try other items on the menu.

I had curry fried rice with chicken on the lunch special. It was delicious. And plentiful, they don't seem to skimp on portions just because it's on special. Service was great. The hostess was very patient as I tried to decipher the menu, and checked in twice to ask about quality. The dining area is comfortable and pleasant. I'm sure I'll be back to try the other menu items!

Ho's Kitchen Ok! So we went for lunch earlier this week and I got the lunch special (1/2 pho and 1/2 banh mi pork sandwich for $13! Such a great deal, bc both portions were generous. The broth was savory, the noodles were fresh and not too mushy, the jalapeños had the right amount of spice and the lime added good flavor. The sandwich bread was crispy and warm. The pork was crispy and was seasoned well. The toppings were also the right portions. We went tonight for dinner and since the lunch special wasn't available at dinner time we simply split a large pho, banh mi, and a delicious plate of chicken fried rice. The rice was as good as going to a hibachi restaurant. The outdoor seating was also wonderful, as the weather has cooled off.

    Spring Rolls with Peanut sauce

Based on my local city group on FB, I tried this place out. My husband and I both enjoyed it! On a Saturday afternoon, they were quite busy. They only had a couple tables available. Other then the wall art (*which is pretty funny, when you read all the puns--see picture), they need some other artwork, as all white walls around it, looks like it is missing something. The service was spot on. They brought menus as soon as we sat. Unfortunatly their soda machine was not working, so my husband had to get Diet Coke in a can and glass of ice. I had the Iced Tea (not that great, just get water next time). Wish they offered some other choices for appetizers. Maybe some "Banh-Mi" with making from the sandwhich? Also, miss some type of wontons for soup (like pork)? But, otherwise, the food was good. I like the spring rolls more then my husband. The wrap was too chewy for him. But, I knew what to expect and liked the flavor (*was not expecting meatballs in wrap), but loved the peanut sauce served with it! My husban had the "C1" which was the rice and pork plate (*Think they need to serve it in a bowl, like they do with with the vermicilli bowl..saw at next table. It was was hard to mix the meat, vegtables and rice all on plate). I came and got a very delicious bowl (*think I might get the small next time)..of Pho. I got meatballs (not a big fan of, but ok) and rare meat (*but was cooked well in hot broth). Loved all the accompaniments ( Thai basil, bean sprouts, and lime wedge. Gave jalepenos to my husband). Then, of course, already on table was the Hoison sauce. I ate as much of it as I could! I ate all the parts and most of the broth! Great tasting broth! Will come back again!

We can't wait to go back to Ho's Kitchen!!! When we walked in we were impressed by how squeaky clean everything was, and the decor was appropriate for the space. I liked the fun chalkboard type wall, and their puns were goofy enough to bring a smile to my kiddos' faces. The service was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and quick. Our food was at our table in a very reasonable time frame, and everything looked perfectly cooked. Our favorite appetizers (that our kids eat as entrees) were the char grilled pork spring rolls, and the egg rolls. The flavors and textures were spot on and delicious. One of our kids begged us to keep ordering more egg rolls - they were perfectly crispy, but not so scalding hot that you couldn't take a bite shortly after you were served. I wouldn't be surprised if the next time we were there he tried ordered three orders (6 total) for just himself. The only thing that wasn't a huge hit with our table was the regular pork spring rolls - but they're supposed to have shrimp and we skipped the shrimp. It probably would have been much more flavorful with the shrimp - so that one's on us. But all the sauces all the spring rolls came with were fantastic. My husband got the large meatball pho, while my son got the small rare beef pho. The small would have been plenty for my sized appetite. All the soup components were tasty, but I have to say the broth was the star of the show. It was seasoned beautifully, and left us feeling warm and happy. We're approaching summer in Austin, but don't be surprised if you see me slurping down a hot bowl of pho in ALL types of weather. It was that good. I ordered a bahn mi, and it was honestly my favorite thing at the table. Super reasonably priced, and was a very generous portion. I had all my kids take a bite so they could enjoy what I was so thoroughly enjoying - and they agreed 10/10. The bread was excellent - soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and perfectly toasted to complement the sandwich ingredients. Everything really was stellar. Will order again. And hopefully frequently. As a family of 5, I would say they are reasonably priced for everything we got. Really no complaints here. I think it's safe to say this is our new favorite Vietnamese place in the Austin area. Check them out for yourself!!

Unfortunately, they don't sell alcohol here. I would have loved to drink a beer here with its solid vibes. I took off a star because of the blinding sunlight that pours into the space. Each time we came, we had to be strategic on where we sat so that we or our friends didn't have to face the sun. It turns out King Noodle started as a Vietnamese restaurant serving pho but now also serves traditional Chinese dishes not found anywhere else in Austin (that I know of). For this visit, we tried their pho. P2 wanted pho and I obliged. Our server didn't understand Vietnamese, so that was a bit of a red flag considering good, authentic Vietnamese restaurants typically have workers who spoke Vietnamese fluently. It took about 15 minutes for our pho to come out, a long time to wait from what we're used to from other Vietnamese restaurants (usually 5 min). But when we tried the broth, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was enjoyable. I noticed that the broth wasn't as thick and packed with flavor as in other Vietnamese restaurants; it was pleasant and drinkable. I usually have a hard time finishing the pho broth because it's too rich in fat, but I liked how I could do so at King Noodle. They also added a good amount of noodles and meat. We noticed that the meat was precooked before being added to the broth, so it was hard to tell if the meat was fresh. We also tried their jasmine green tea. I would avoid it as they just use a cheap tea bag in a teapot and charge $2 for it. We were impressed at their extensive Chinese menu and would like to revisit to try out some of those dishes!
