We've lived near King Noodle for some time and always thought that this place didn't serve authentic Asian cuisine. It turns out King Noodle started as a Vietnamese restaurant serving pho but now also serves traditional Chinese dishes not found anywhere else in Austin (that I know of). For this visit, we tried their pho. P2 wanted pho and I obliged. Our server didn't understand Vietnamese, so that was a bit of a red flag considering good, authentic Vietnamese restaurants typically have workers who spoke Vietnamese fluently. It took about 15 minutes for our pho to come out, a long time to wait from what we're used to from other Vietnamese restaurants (usually 5 min). But when we tried the broth, we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was enjoyable. I noticed that the broth wasn't as thick and packed with flavor as in other Vietnamese restaurants; it was pleasant and drinkable. I usually have a hard time finishing the pho broth because it's too rich in fat, but I liked how I could do so at King Noodle. They also added a good amount of noodles and meat. We noticed that the meat was precooked before being added to the broth, so it was hard to tell if the meat was fresh. We also tried their jasmine green tea. I would avoid it as they just use a cheap tea bag in a teapot and charge $2 for it. We were impressed at their extensive Chinese menu and would like to revisit to try out some of those dishes! read more

Posting this as a heads up for anybody planning on visiting King noodle anytime soon. On Google maps it shows that it is open and on every other source it shows that it is open, but it is indeed not. Looks like it was just randomly abandoned one day. Fish tank is still on with living fish inside and condiments are still left all over the table. Hopefully somebody is tending to the live animals that are in this restaurant. I attached the paper that is taped on the front door, stating that they owe the city a lot of money in missing/late payments. read more

I ordered food for a girlfriend whom has recent back surgery and unable to move much as part of a meal train for her. 8 live over 50 miles away in an area that gets no delivery service at all so the idea of delivery to not something I'm super familiar with. I ordered from King Noodle website, asked for ASAP delivery and received the attached texts. I assumed everything had gone as planned and went into a movie where I was unavailable. My phone is set up to not answer unknown calls, at 845pm I found our my girlfriend never received her food at all! Upon calling the restaurant, they were closed and beyond menu has no contact information except an email. I feel Wolfgang sure didn't earn that tip I included!! We were looking for a new place to try and decided on King Noodle. Service was fast and super friendly and accommodating. The crab rangoons are not sweet thank god, you could really taste the green onion too. We also ordered the spicy tuna sushi roll, sooooooo good and a great size! I can not understand why this place doesn't have a higher rating! We were seated and served so quickly, and our waitress was super eager to make sure we always had everything we needed. We all ordered pho and it was really good! The broth was rich, the serving sizes were decent, and we had more than enough of the toppings. This is a good staple spot for pho! We had a delightful, quiet Monday evening at King noodle. The service was excellent, friendly, and quick. I had the P1 eye round steak pho which was wonderful! This will be my new place for pho! Ended up here by mistake when we wanted to try the other King Noodle. Not sure why this place has a sub 3 review. We were acknowledged as soon as we stepped in and so weren't all the guests after us. Server was attentive and patient. After we placed our order, the server even told us we had qualified for a free appetizer since we spent $50. The crab Rangoon were delicious. The sushi rolls had good quality rice that was warm and the sesame chicken and salt and pepper wings were tasty. I felt like the portions were normal as well. No issues with the modifications either. I just moved to Texas 9 days ago and have already been here twice! So far, everything I've had has been very fresh and high quality. The bean sprouts are crisp (and don't have a bunch of tails), the pho broth is flavorful (and the meatballs don't have too much fat), the milk tea is just the right amount of sweet, the spring rolls come with an excellent peanut sauce that's not too thick yet not too runny, and they're flexible about making changes to menu items (such as choosing different pho broths or adding/removing ingredients). I especially like that they've never been busy when I've gone, so there's typically less than 5 occupied tables and there's an ample amount of parking available. As far as atmosphere, the lighting is low and the decorations are minimal. They have a large fish tank and I noticed that there were two sick Koi (erratic swimming and scale shedding) the first time I visited who were gone the second time I stopped in for lunch, so I'm concerned that the fish tank is overcrowded or that there's bacteria present. The prices are also a bit high for my taste. The meatball and tofu pho with taro milk tea plus chicken spring rolls was $36, whereas I could get the same thing at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Madison, WI for around $25. However, I understand that prices differ from state-to-state and I'm no longer living in Wisconsin so it wouldn't be fair for me to compare those prices. The male staff member is very straight forward and rarely smiles so some people may view him as rude but I don't think that's the case. I've seen him eat lunch, have a meeting, answer the phone, AND clean the fish tank all while promptly serving customers and remembering orders without even writing them down. It takes skill to be able to shuffle between that many activities at once while keeping your sanity intact, so if that's not an experienced and admirable work ethic then I don't know what is! read more

Tried this place today, and if I can sum it up in up one word it would be "Average" the food was okay, at best. We had the beef noodles and Salmon rolls, and steamed dumplings . The total was 48.00. The food was fresh and very well prepared. I ordered the fried pork egg rolls, but they were a little over cooked.. almost burnt on the outside. Egg drop soup was very good. Hmmm.... This is an establishment that is small, has a loyal consumer base and regulars, as the owner/host knows them by name. However, I can't help feeling like this is a tremendous missed opportunity of a restaurant. Nestled in cedar park, the facade is in an updated strip mall but its windows are in need of some attention. Upon entry, after being seated, you are inundated with modern and traditional Asian culture. It's an amalgamation combined fine dining do's and don't's. ‍ That being said, onto the food!! I ordered a dragon roll that was pretty delicious!! And you can watch the chef make it. My entree was a teriyaki chicken bento box. My only drawback was that my chicken looked like sesame chicken and tasted like orange chicken. I like all three so, I guess, it was a win-win-win?!..‍. Special thanks to the delivery driver for including chopsticks! Order arrived on time and was a good temperature. Decided to try their Szechuan Tofu and Veggie Spring Rolls. The Szechuan tofu was good but didn't have the mouth numbing heat to it that I was hoping for. The heat level was decent though and had a good burn! Even though the tofu looked like it had been marinated, it was not as flavorful as I was expecting either. I like that they used extra firm tofu for the dish and it had a nice chewiness to it though. The veggies that came with the sauce were good too and they added a needed crunch to the dish. The veggie spring rolls were a last minute decision and I'm glad I made it! They came with a peanut dipping sauce along with chili garlic. The peanut sauce was more on the sweet side and had less of a nutty taste to it but was overall refreshing to have alongside the Szechuan dish. I used to give this place five stars, but today I wasn't pleased with the owner or the lady worker. They were quite impolite and did not have my dinner ready when I arrived. The to-go orders I placed using the DoorDash app a 30-minute ahead. When I arrived I requested an update, and the owner rudely replied, "I don't know!" My husband and I have been going here for about 3-4 years now. Although it is not my first choice for Vietnamese food, it is the best choice for the area. I used to not like Asian restaurants that cater to more than one cuisine. But now with a toddler I'm glad we have those options. I have not had the Japanese food and sushi but we've had the Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. The pho is not the best I've had in the city but it does hit the spot when I crave it. My son loves the kids lo mien and I recently had their fresh lemonade and let me tell you. I have not had that good of a fresh lemonade since I've move away from my hometown. Please try it! It is made with limes instead of lemons and Just the right amount of sweetness. I am sad that they don't serve baguettes with their bo kho. King noodle really has something for everyone! They have sushi, and pho, noodle plates and rice plates. I ordered the wonton soup and pork bun. The wonton soup was really tasty and was a great size! The pork bun was not as great. The bun was rubbery and tough to chew. I ended up taking the meat out and eating it alone. We also got the chicken lettuce wraps and shrimp lo mein. The lettuce wraps had way too many bell peppers, and changed the flavor of the dish too much for my liking. The lo mein was decent and it had plenty of shrimp. The staff is very attentive and friendly! While this was not the best impression of the food I'm eager to try more and find the perfect dish! We will definitely be back soon. read more

My husband and I moved to Northwest Austin from cedar Park several years ago so we haven't been eating here as often. I still really love their vegetable pho, their vegetable spring rolls, their vegetable sushi, but today I also ordered tofu broccoli with garlic sauce and basil tofu and they just didn't taste or smell right. Even my kids commented on it. we had gotten take out and I had to call the restaurant to make sure that they didn't put chicken or fish in the sauce because it just didn't smell quite vegan. They assured us it was vegan. It did not satisfy my craving for tofu broccoli with garlic sauce and basil tofu like I've had at other restaurants. Also, the two or three times we've gotten pho take out from them I noticed the broth is so hot it melts the styrofoam container. My husband, I and our 3 yr old daughter went to king noodle on cypress today for lunch. Their food was great, however I wouldn't go back for their safety issues. They have a fish tank inside the restaurant. 2 employees were cleaning the tank and dumping all the dirty water outside the entrance and that water was icy and the 3 of us almost slipped.
