The pho broth is either way too salty or has no flavor and the veggies aren't typically super fresh. Previously gave this place a five star, now they truly deserve a 1. Inconsistent pho that ranges from extreme saltiness to no flavor. They can't seem to get it right anymore. Oddly enough they have cancelled orders because they don't have food?!? Most recently another order was cancelled after I thought I'd try one more time since my first experience was so good, bad idea. They blamed the Uber driver but now that I think about it, this fits in with other ppls reviews so I'll take at stab at it. Pho (Vietnamese noodles) has been around for a very long time and most restaurants you walk into feel like they've been around for a very long time. They are usually old and worn down, have furniture from the early 90s, and a point of sale machine that refuses to take credit cards. This place, on the other hand, is the modern, better looking sibling. The restaurant is brightly lit and is nice and clean. The setup is also different so keep in mind you will be ordering first at the cashier before sitting down. The menu is easy to read and with digital screens, it's easy for you to imagine what you will be eating. After placing an order, the flow will lead you to their drink station along with a veggie bar for self service of onions, jalapenos, cilantro, and more. As for the food, I ordered the eye round steak pho and my wife ordered the pork vermicelli. Both were good, not great. The quantity seems to be smaller than other places, but it wasn't offensively small so not a big deal. Overall, I believe this place is a good attempt to modernize the pho experience and the nice additions like hooking spoons and the veggie bar makes one overlook the cheap chopsticks that splinter your mouth as you eat and the smaller quantities. When PhoNatic first opened it was a fun and fresh place for Cedar Park residents to enjoy an amazing bowl of Pho. Fast forward to today and things have taken a serious turn for the worse. The restaurant now appears run down and ill kept. Food on the walls, dirty tables, messy serving area. And, all this while prices have slowly crept up. Lunch for three (2 bowls of Pho, a Pat's Plate, and three drinks) topping out at $38. During our visit today one plate came out cold, one came out wrong, and mine came out with the saddest round eye steak I'd ever seen. Other patrons sat at tables they had to clean themselves looking around as we were, wondering where on earth their food was and why everything seemed so haphazard. Came out tonight and found restaurant understaffed. Tables hadn't been bussed and one person at the counter. Ordered two vermicelli bowls and received some kind of rice bowl instead. We were asked if wanted fish sauce. Said yes but never got it. Luckily the food is good or I would've given less stars! Also, we were given an extra egg roll for the long wait. I married into a Vietnamese family and fell in love with my mother in law's food. She introduced me to the Pho soup and I was smitten. After moving to Texas, I decided t give PhoNatic a try. I've never known of a pho restaurant. I've always had my in law's. The place itself is clean and relevant in terms of style and decoration. The staff, friendly. Service is fast. I LOVE the pork belly spring rolls. I absolutely love spring rolls anyway..so good. I ordered chicken and vegetable Pho. I thought the bowls were large- stock was good, but could use more meat. They do skimp on the meat. I love throwing in extra cilantro, green onions, and lime. Overall, This is good food. We ordered the Round Eye-Brisket Pho and a Salad Vermicelli bowl, take out. The Round Eye-Brisket Pho without noodles, and extra meat & bean sprouts. (as expected, extra charge for extra meat & veggies) was good. The broth was a little bland, but easily spiced up with hoisin sauce, chili, cilantro and jalapenos. Despite ordering extra meat and bean sprouts, I felt like the portion of meat was rather average, and the amount of bean sprouts I received was extremely small. The Salad Vermicelli bowl with marinated pork shoulder (sans noodles) was an overall delicious dish. The pork was tender and perfectly marinated. Phonatic offers a self serve toppings station, which includes green & white onions, limes, jalapenos, and cilantro. I really like this feature because it allows you to customize your pho. The service was friendly and informative. Phonatic is a rather expensive for a Vietnamese Pho Restaurant. For both dishes, the total was $24, which I think is expensive for beef Pho and pork Vermicelli (no drink). Our food was ready relatively fast, and packed nicely to-go. This location is relatively new, and the decor is nice. They do seem to be a little understaffed, as there were numerous tables dirty from previous customers. read more

Perhaps business is slow and they use food leftover from the previous day, seems like it! I just ordered PhoNatic through Grubhub and I have to say I am pretty impressed. I love how it was packaged (for the most part). The noodles and cooked veggies were packed in a large container that is big enough for me to pour all my broth into and the toppings, so no need to dirty a bowl. Raw toppings (beansprouts, jalapenos etc) were in a small separate bag. I ordered the Brisket and Round Eye Pho with added mushrooms. I love that they added white (button) and straw mushrooms. My only complaint would be to please not package the sauce packets inside with the food. They were in my baggie with the raw veggies. Packets can collect dander and germs from sitting out and from traveling in boxes. I ordered delivery because I am sick and really don't want to risk anymore bacteria at the moment. I was really impressed with the food and service. I frequently eat Vietnamese food in Houston, and we really enjoyed our meals today. We ordered Pat's Plate, kids rice bowls with bbq pork, and the build your own spring rolls plate. The meats were full of flavor and the build your own spring rolls was an awesome deal! They were very generous with the veggies, vermicelli, meats, etc. the service was excellent as the employees were friendly and catered to our needs. The restaurant was really clean and had a self service bar for additional veggies and condiments. There was so much food, we had enough leftovers to make a few more spring rolls at home. I'd definitely come back again, if we are craving Vietnamese food on this side of town. 5 stars all the way! read more

This is not authentic Pho. The soup base has no flavor. It's pretty on the outside but no substance on the inside.

I hate writing this review because PhoNatic was my go to place for decent pho up north. As I live in Cedar Park, the options were just God awful before PhoNatic came around (check out Rosie's if it's still around in that shopping center with Target across Whitestone, you'd be better off drinking out of your dog's water bowl). As I have always gone to Pho Saigon down in central Austin (owned by the same person / family as PhoNatic), I've come to expect their quality of food (savory pho broth, excellent char-grilled pork slices for the vermicelli, etc). However, after going to PhoNatic tonight, I'm afraid I won't be going back. I get that restaurants need to raise prices from time to time. But, what PhoNatic has done is pretty much highway robbery. For instance: 1) Previous menu: I would get a large build your own bowl with 4 different meats, the total was $9~10 ish. (NOTE: This is already EXTREMELY expensive compared to Dallas / Houston pho prices, but given it's Austin, I get there's a mark-up given the lack of decent Vietnamese food.) 2) New menu: Build your own bowl only allows for 2 meat selections. If I build it out exactly as I did before, THE TOTAL WAS OVER $16. A 60%+ increase in price? Are you *@#&% kidding me? Not to mention that my family, who happened to be visiting from out of town, also ordered the char-grilled pork with vermicelli, which now doesn't come with an eggroll at $8.95. Even Pho Saigon still has the char-grilled pork vermicelli with eggroll for less. I don't get it. Maybe because the owners think the newer location / decor justifies completely PRICE GOUGING their clientele. Or maybe, they figured it's suburbia Cedar Park, "these people don't know pho anyway, so let's bend them over the table." Frankly, it's BS, and I'm calling you out for it, PhoNatic. SHAME on you. (To the person / family who owns both Pho Saigon and PhoNatic: I KNOW you won't be pulling a stunt like this at a place like Pho Saigon. You know why I know? Because you actually have decent pho places around you, which means you have competition. If you did this at Pho Saigon, over half of your clientele would disappear, which basically means you're selectively price gouging at PhoNatic only.) I live around the corner and used to go eat a meal at PhoNatic once a week. Don't expect me back until you bring your menu pricing back down to earth. You've driven off your most devoted customers, good luck getting new ones with these kind of prices. read more

Honestly any place that I go to could have great everything but if the good is terrible to ME, obviously I won't be back. This is my own opinion. Don't get upset because we don't have the same tastes buds. While everything else is great about this place, customer service, quick, efficent, has a bar for extra things like onions, green onions, cilantro, etc. I order the create your own pho with beef broth, meatballs, steak, and wontons. It was probably my own fault but it didn't occur to me that the wontons have some type of seafood in it. Now if you know me, I don't like FISH AT ALL. It made me soup tastes fishy and when I bit into that wonton, I almost threw up. I got all the wontons out of my soup but I felt completely sick afterwards. I couldn't even finish my Pho. Especially having that seafood hint to it. Unfortantely, left to get the nasty taste out of my mouth with some Wendys. I hate to leave a bad review beacause I'm sure it's great for people who do like seafood. Just wish I was aware of the wontons being seafood-ish. I won't be back. So bummed. Sliders went from plate of 3 to plate of 2 with no decrease in price, so it can no longer be a light meal. Prices are effectively up across the board with new "build your own " menu. Portions also seem smaller... What Vietnamese restaurant serves pho with choice of TWO meats??? I want my tripe, my round eye, my fatty brisket, and my tendon like every other pho place does. Food still tastes good... That's why I'm giving 2 stars. If a manager type happens to be reading this, I'd also like to suggest the plastic cups (which are identical to the ones at Mighty Fine and Rudy's) be reusable for a discount like those guys do. I'm so honestly surprised to see the less than stellar ratings for PhoNatic - I've had nothing but fresh and friendly pho experiences here, enough so that I consider them to be one of my new go-to faves as far as diet-friendly carryout options go. Huh...well anyways... hey PhoNatic...I like your style. Your Pho is delicious - the perfumey broth always makes me smile, and is always overflowing with fantastic looking veggies and chicken every time I order it. Your regular size bowls are HUGE, enough for several meals. I love your egg rolls, I love your rice bowls, and your customer service has always been efficient, and presented with a smile. My to-go orders never take long to get together, and you're one of the few places I'll willingly drive from my neighborhood, hop in, order carry-out and sit and hang because you're quiet, chill, and on the ball. Oh, and your packaging is tough, I trust it in my car. Now, the only thing that is preventing the last star from being awarded in my review is that I've noticed that your lemongrass beef and your chicken in the rice bowls that I've ordered have been on the quite dry side, so I'd like to see that improve. First time to visit the Cedar Park location, which by the way I'm ecstatic about there being one much closer to me now. Parking wasn't an issue for me today, however, I did have to park further. I can definitely see there being problems during weekday lunch hours. I love the outdoor seating here! Inside is also very nice and clean. Service is wonderful. I ordered the wonton which taste wise was delicious. The only complaint I have is that it came out warm and not even close to being hot so when I added the onion, it still tasted raw. We also ordered egg rolls but did not get any fish sauce until we asked for it. They weren't even busy. The banh mi sliders were great but overall I think the Anderson Lane location is better. Hopefully they were just having an off day. I will definitely return! read more

I have been here a few times. It has been one of my favorites in the area. I have not tried the other food but many of my friends have and liked it as well. The service is always friendly and fast. The food is always fresh and if something is wrong or you don't like it they will easily replace or fix the problem for you. Definitely a place to come back to! For the life of me I can never understand why people complain about price/portion size. Obviously you haven't tried to run your own business and make it profitable. The portions are much more in line with what a normal person can eat. Again comparing to lots of vietnamese restaurants with fat American sized portions. The only downside here is that they are priced like big dishes. Service is good. People are nice. But dear god - that menu. What on earth? Hire a designer (I'm available) and let someone simplify that thing. There is no point trying to read the one on the big displays behind the counter. The type is itty bitty. You can get bahn mi tacos (roti instead of a baguette) and sliders (baos instead of baguette). The problem was they came out cold and way too salty. The cashier gives you a number, you find a seat and place the number card in a holder at your table. There is a station with sauces and add ins for your soup. Everything was brought to the table one thing at a time, in between 3 to 5 minutes, each by a different person. The spring rolls were meh, just your average spring roll. My pho's broth was pretty bland to say the least. There was no depth to it at all. It had clumps of undercooked noodles. The chicken was so dry that it was hard to swallow because it got stuck in your throat. My wife ordered a pork Bun but we both could not for sure say the meat was pork. The nuoc cham it was served with had no garlic or chilies in it, very cloudy and SUPER SALTY!! Decided to stop by today for the first time. Ordered a vermicilli bowl (w/pork) and 2 eggrolls, to go. The bowl was ok, however, after eating about half a roll, i noticed something weird; i looked at it and it was RAW! I called and spoke with Matt, no manager on duty, who was empathetic and gracious enough to refund my order. That still doesnt take away that I unknowingly consumed raw pork and now I have to worry if I'll get sick. Not a great first impression and I wont be back, ever. Ordered a build your own vermicelli bowl for take out which, if you don't know, has noodles. I arrived in exactly 15 minutes after being given an estimate of 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready. When I get to the counter the girl there has trouble finding more order- turns out it's been marked as 'late'. After 15 minutes??? Ok. She repeats my order back to me to make sure they got it right and then she tells me it'll be just out. They eventually get my order together after about another 5 minutes (not bad), but I get home and there are no noodles in my bowl at all, just a lot of lettuce. The meat still tasted good but if I wanted a salad I would have spent $6 at HEB instead of $12 at this place. read more
