    Only reason I rented from here was because I'm 20 and couldn't find another place to rent to me. They gave me a ford fusion that looks nothing like the pictures online. Transmission is definitely busted, as soon as we got the car the oil light came on. Crack in windshield, stains all over the seat, one charging port doesn't work. Outside of the car is busted too. Overcharging and the manager is rude.

    Charged me and my boyfriend $560 for a POS Chevy Impala. It broke down on us in california and we were completely stranded until 2AM. They also deface the VIN, which is very illegal. They don't even have a roadside assistance number, nothing. Refused to give us a replacement car, refusing to reimburse us for gas or for the hundreds of dollars we had to spend to get back. Every time we call they hang up on you or place you on hold with zero intent to call back. Worst customer service ever. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. They honestly don't deserve to keep this business up and running. Wish we could've looked at the reviews before hand.

    Talk about scary, the kid running this place was a joke. We reserved a 15 person mini van with this company months prior and showed up to pick up a van that looked like it had been through the cartel war, broken doors, dents everywhere, tires were so small it was a joke. We asked if we could get a regular van that wasn't damaged or broken and he said it would cost twice as much. Then we questioned him nicely on why it would be double and he told us we could just leave. What a disappointment as we have been planning this trip for months to celebrate our son's graduation and 18th birthday with 8 of his friends.

    Do not waste your time at Phoenix Car rental on McDowell, the cars are a piece of shit. THE manager is an ass he is rude and cursing out customers if they ask for a different car because the A/C does not work. it is not worth ever doing any business with this company the car smells, they don't work properly and when you call them on it they start cussing you out they start yelling at your spouse. A little short fat guy is just a total unprofessional ass. He was rude to my wife for saying she had a car like what he tried give and he started yelling and cussing. I am glad that I have grown to understand that you cannot react the way you want to. I only gave them a one because I had to give a star. They deserve zero stars. If you do business here you deserve the treatment.

    Absolute worst place you can rent a car from. PLEASE DO NOT RENT HERE. We rented out an suv that should Have been looked at before it was rented out. One tire was completely worn out, on our way back we stopped because we heard a weird sound. A chunk of the tire tore off and you could see the wiring from the tire. I had both of my daughters with me. That's not even the worst part, these people don't even supply you with the needed tools to change a tire. The tool we did havedidn't even fit on the bolts of the tire. We had to drive to the nearest town on that tire and waited another two hours to get the bolts (which were waaaay too tight to even get off manually) off. Worst place ever. Do not recommend even if it is your last resort.

    Drove all the way to this crappy at rental only to find falling apart cars. Not only where they wanting a lot of money for the suv that was falling apart but they wanted to charge more for a decent one. Don't do it! Waste of time!

Most recently, I rented a car for a week and after taking the train to the rental car center, I was able to skip the desk and head straight to the Emerald Aisle to pick any available car. I would highly recommend setting up an account with National and taking advantage of this.... being able to skip a line at the counter is a blessing. In any event, we went to the aisle, picked out our car and were off after a brief stop at the gate to check everything. Return was also quick and painless. Josh did a thorough inspection of the car, which we returned with a full tank and in pristine shape, and we were on our way in no time. It's amazing how frictionless the experience can be, as opposed to how awful other companies (I'm looking at you Hertz) can make it. I highly recommend National.

The staff are friendly and professional. I've had them offer to give me a bit of a discount when something inconvenient happens, and I'm glad they have that authority. This last time the car I rented had a lot of fingerprints on the windows and the carpeting in the trunk of the car was stained. There was also a splotch of something in the cupholder (I didn't try to remove it so I don't know how stuck on it was). That said, it didn't affect performance of the car and overall I still enjoyed driving it. The pricing seems okay. I think there are cheaper rental companies, but some of what I pay for is convenience. I'll keep using them when I visit Phoenix for work.
